2NLs are starting to be sent for June interviews. Again, as has been the pattern for the last two months, these are earlier than normal, I expect we will see similar unusual process this month, so the 2NLs might be spread out over a few days, or even the next couple of weeks – I don’t know for sure. So – look out for the email – and check the ESC site.
Last month, some people got 2NL emails but then had to wait days or even a couple of weeks before the interview letter showed on the ESC page. Other people waited until the beginning of the following month to get their 2NLs and ESC page update. So – be patient, stay calm. If your 2NL is delayed, it has nothing to do with President Trump and doesn’t mean aliens have invaded. Just relax and be patient. Some physicians won’t schedule the medicals unless you have the 2NL in hand, BUT these interviews are for JUNE, so there is plenty of time.
The email itself has no useful information. It simply tells you to check the ESC site for the interview details. Some people that receive the email will find the ESC site is not ready, those people should try again after a few hours. Also, some people find the email itself goes to a trash or spam folder or somehow miss it. So – if you think you may have been scheduled but missed your email, you can check the ESC site, just in case. The 1NL (you have been selected letter) is replaced by a new letter which gives the appointment details.
*** please for our willing scrapers – let’s get scraping (as we can then identify the cases that have been scheduled, and that tells us how many interviews are being scheduled per embassy/region ***
April 18, 2018 at 19:09
I received my 2nl for June today:-)
April 18, 2018 at 21:46
Your case number? And which region? EU?
April 18, 2018 at 19:09
what a nice surprise, fast
April 18, 2018 at 19:58
i received 2nl today. thanks berit for your useful information
April 18, 2018 at 20:50
If your 2NL is delayed, it has nothing to do with President Trump and doesn’t mean aliens have invaded. Just relax and be patient ????
April 18, 2018 at 21:19
Hello Simon hope you are doing good))) one of my friend’s case number is 310xx another ones number is 330xx. I want to know your expectations when they will receive 2NL?
April 18, 2018 at 21:25
Numbers are useless without region – but in any case – I am not predicting interview dates during the final months.
April 18, 2018 at 21:38
Sorry i forget they have joined from Europe EU
April 18, 2018 at 21:41
Then their numbers are at risk.
April 18, 2018 at 21:51
Do you mean EU will not receive 2NL anymore ?
April 18, 2018 at 22:10
I didn’t say that. But – there will be a cutoff – and that could come before your friends get a chance for interview.
April 18, 2018 at 21:26
Hello everyone i received mail today too.
But beneficiary: none
Is it normal? I applied with my wife
April 18, 2018 at 21:31
That is based on the original entry – so did you marry AFTER the original entry?
April 18, 2018 at 21:37
Yes i’m marry after.
But i have modified ds260 and added my wife
April 18, 2018 at 21:41
OK – then it is normal.
April 18, 2018 at 21:49
Thank you very much
April 18, 2018 at 22:01
Dear Brit

From nepal .
Thank you so much
April 18, 2018 at 22:12
Is there going to be a new update on VB progress?
April 18, 2018 at 22:16
I posted something a few days ago.
April 18, 2018 at 23:04
mr simon
two persons i know won in dv2018 and one have CN (AF183xx) and another his CN (AF205xx) and they from egypt and the last VB for egypt is 18,150
Q1: they have chance to be interviewed ??
Q2: how many percent of risk for them ?
Q3: can kcc stop release VB for egypt because egypt has consumed the total visa or there are available visa not issued till now ?
thanks in advance
April 18, 2018 at 23:16
1. The lower case number is obviously less risky than the higher number.
2. I don’t know.
3. KCC can stop issuing – but they have not yet done so.
April 20, 2018 at 01:29
i’am sorry but another question
is the denisty in egypt reduce ?
if yes so may next VB increase a bit ?
April 20, 2018 at 02:55
\I have no way to know – so I am not predicting Egypt movement.
April 20, 2018 at 03:22
thank you (:
April 19, 2018 at 02:33
Hi brit, How are you?
I got the 2NL.
Do I need to make an appointment?
Because by the website of the Embassy, people that coming to appointments for immigrant visa, should make an appointment, but I am already got time and date.
What am I supposed to do?
Thank you so much!
April 19, 2018 at 03:07
Some embassies expect you to register your appointment. Simply follow instructions!
April 19, 2018 at 04:32
The number of cases AF16410 was sent ds in May and I did not open it again but despite that on June 20, why this delay in the date of the interview I am from Egypt
April 19, 2018 at 04:38
Everything is normal. Be patient.
April 19, 2018 at 04:37
Hey Brit
Thanks for the info.
April 19, 2018 at 08:13

April 19, 2018 at 17:02
Hello Britsimon,
I sincerely wanted to thank you for the pedagogy and patience you show every day on this blog.
I had a successful interview at the US Embassy in Dakar on April 17, 2018, the summary of which follows:
OC: When did you play?
Me: October 26, 2006
OC: Do you have the BAC
I do
OC: in what year?
Me: in 20XX
OC: And after what did you do?
Me: I went to university
OC: which one?
Me: University xxx xxx
OC: What studies?
Me : Law
OC: And now what are you doing?
I work XXXX
OC: where do you go in the USA
Me: New Jersey
Then she takes a green ticket (and here I realize that the dream became reality Oh my God) and begins to write on it while telling me good luck in the US do not buy your plane ticket there may be a delay in the issue of the visa ….
Me : Thank you Mrs
Again THANK YOU SIMON I’m not that I will have arrived without the tips found on your blog …
I wish the same to all who were waiting for your interview.
April 19, 2018 at 17:17
The dream of all of us <3
April 20, 2018 at 09:03
Wow… congrats.
April 29, 2018 at 14:37
Wowww congratsss… i wish my dream also will come trueeee sooonnnn …..
April 19, 2018 at 23:55
1 could it be that the bulletin “current”
2 If “current” mean that everyone will be invited in the interview
3 Is it possible to reach AF51, such as what happened in 2008
April 20, 2018 at 00:00
1. I don’t think that will happen.
2. That is what current means.
3. That number is risky.
April 20, 2018 at 07:49
Dear Simon , Thanks for your suggestion. Yesterday 19th April We get the visa.
We are very happy .
April 20, 2018 at 11:56
Hello hirday thalay
Pleas can you tell me what time was your interview and which region,
Thanks
April 20, 2018 at 13:50
Great!
April 20, 2018 at 07:49
received my 2NL from ethiopia. thanks brit.
April 20, 2018 at 10:07
hi dear i want to register my interview date but i found a question that says …. priority date … what that mean? i have interviwe in june and from sweden
April 20, 2018 at 13:36
Use 01 June – your “current” date.
April 20, 2018 at 10:11
Hi Brit,
I looked closely at the data regarding EU and figured out that during February they issued 2333 visa, March 2144 and for April until 16/04 1187 visas so let us say they have set a pace of 2200 visa per each month.
If they continue this trend for May and June that will get them at approximately 16300 issued visas by the end of June.
If they are committed to respect 18300 quota the cuff off number could be less than EU 23000 and they can comfortably achieve that by the end of July with 2 months to spare. This is what I fear the most.
My only hope is that they extend the quota beyond 18300 visas taking into consideration that Africa is behind in reaching its own quota.
Regards
April 20, 2018 at 10:59
yes, that is what has been mentioned before. (cal’s predictions)
it is the most likely that will happen.
it is better to know that now than dreaming for big numbers:( I do not want to kill the hope but datas shows EXACTLY what you said. Cut off – 23k EU
April 20, 2018 at 13:36
That pace will not continue for the remainder of the year for EU. There was a dramatic reduction in cases made current and interviews per month starting for April interviews. That reduced pace has continued – but we are yet to see the effects of that. Additionally – the early pace was dominated by the big U2 countries. Uzbekistan in particular has a very high derivative rate, so as they filter out, the number of visas issued per case will reduce slightly. I’m not saying we can see EU40k of course, but I do think people above the 23k number can stay hopeful. There is a chance of exceeding the quota too – but the pace would need to increase somewhat – so let’s wait and see if they do that…
April 20, 2018 at 19:46
Well Dear BritSimon you are georgeous guy, but probably after earlier not the best predictions (quite high) you became less risky with your words. You do not have to. I am old grandmother (72y/o is there any older here)and most of us are adults here. Data shows exactly 23 as cutt of. It is quite optimistic cause it would be even 22.0000EU or lil less.
Do not tell tthat there is hope for 27-28. No there is in not. Trust me, it is just what I call whisfull or magic thinking.
Ok, now all you can kill me.sorry:((
Besos
April 20, 2018 at 20:00
Early predictions are obviously more risky than when we have more data. In the case of DV, we are talking about predicting the actions of thousands of people that haven’t even been interviewed yet. It’s hard. I’m not feeling bad about that. But, your prediction is no more certain than others. So – what I have said from the beginning still stands. Wait and see.
April 20, 2018 at 11:17
hi Simon does KCC stop accept DS260 form?
April 20, 2018 at 13:23
No – but at some point there is a chance that they will not be able to process it in time or set an interview. You should think of May as that point, although I have seen later submissions still get an interview in underselected years.
April 20, 2018 at 13:54
Hi sir!!!
I am from AS region case no AS65## I have been unlocked my ds on 20 February and submitted at the same date so I haven’t received the email yet will I receive it in this month what do you predict please reply. ..
does it’s delays my interview?
Best regards
April 20, 2018 at 13:56
No delay. No prediction.
April 21, 2018 at 02:01
Hi Brit,
Thanx for doing a Great Job.
I have a case nr of EU280XX and now I am absolutely crashed with the progress.
I quit my long-term career in my country in March and got new Contract with US Company working from home hoping that cases till 31-32000 are safe..Now this is horrible.
Should I make a change to DS-260 I have send on 18/05/2017 today to report this new US Employer or if I unlock DS260 I can have more delay in processing. Is it better to amend DS260 or just leave it as it is?
Do you think my new US Contract and Employer can influence the process in order to make my case become Current? What do you suggest??
April 21, 2018 at 05:42
There is no need to amend the DS260, and it does not affect you getting current or not.
April 21, 2018 at 08:07
Dear Mr. Brit,
Hope you are doing well,
Thanks again for what you are doing voluntarily,
I had two questions, if you can, kindly reply me.
If I am going to not include my spouse in my DV case but with mentioning marital status married in DS-260 form:
– Does it make any problem? Making a hurdle in getting visa?
– Do I need to have some documents (marriage certificate, spouse birth certificate, ID etc) even if not including spouse in DV case?
Waiting for your reply.
April 21, 2018 at 14:56
No problem. Take documentation.
April 21, 2018 at 10:03
Hi Brit,
Do they send the 2NLs to both the Principal applicant and derivative or only to the principal applicant?
April 21, 2018 at 14:57
Principal only.
April 21, 2018 at 13:56

April 22, 2018 at 00:20
Dear Brit , thanks for all you cooperation and support
Looking at the latest Xarthisius numbers and trying to workout the numbers, it looks that fir SA taking into account the quota of 1500 and the approved cases plus 50% ready, plus the AP we could be looking up to the CN 1725 aprox.? What do you think? As you know, I’m around 1660
April 22, 2018 at 00:43
I don’t know precisely. You have to wait and see.
April 22, 2018 at 03:41

April 22, 2018 at 13:04
I am not going to predict that.
April 22, 2018 at 13:37
my english not very well.
Can you call to KCC and ask from they about it?
April 22, 2018 at 14:07
No. They don’t know. Patience!
April 22, 2018 at 16:45
best comment here. Hahahahah
Come on Simon, call there:))))
April 22, 2018 at 13:16
Hi Brit . Good day.
I want to ask you a question :
some US embassies in some countries asks for the social network accounts like (Facebook , Twitter and etc ) , what do you now about that ?
April 22, 2018 at 13:37
Yes – they gather information on a form DS2235. We don’t know what they do about processing that info.
April 23, 2018 at 18:48
Oh , Thanks .
April 22, 2018 at 13:59
hi brit,
can you tell when the supreme court will give the final result for travel van, i know its at the end of April, but when exactly.
April 22, 2018 at 14:00
sorry, travel ban 🙂 not VAN 🙂
April 22, 2018 at 14:08
On April 25 they hear oral arguments. I don’t know when they will issue the ruling.
April 22, 2018 at 17:56
Hi Simon,
How long does “In Transit” usually last before a case becomes “Ready”?
Our embassy wants us to register our appointment before we attend, and I think (based on my failed attempt to register last week) that the case needs to be “Ready” before it will work.
Thanks!
April 22, 2018 at 18:55
It varies. Usually within a few days – sometimes a couple of weeks.
April 22, 2018 at 18:40
Hi sir please I asked you several time the same question but I think that sometimes you delete it or ignore!!! Please give me an answer today, do you think that AF36*** are safe ???
April 22, 2018 at 18:53
Actually – I have answered. It seems that you don’t bother to read the replies.

April 22, 2018 at 21:54
Unless you are from Egypt or Ethiopia your number is ready for interview. So – are you from Egypt or Ethiopia?
April 23, 2018 at 11:24
Hi Brit
I don’t understand something my case went from AP to Ready and now I have checked my status it says AP again but I can see the case update is changing. My interview was on 1st of march
What does it mean?
April 23, 2018 at 14:04
It means more waiting. That’s all – you cannot infer anything else.
April 23, 2018 at 15:13
Hi mr Simon. How are u?
My case number is EU262XX.
How much I have chance % ?
April 23, 2018 at 16:17
Something between 0% and 100%.
April 23, 2018 at 16:23
and EU2525X ? My friends case.
April 23, 2018 at 16:32
Really?
Same answer!
April 23, 2018 at 18:15
good quession. My CN is EU228XX
How much I have chance %?
April 23, 2018 at 18:20
You and Gevorg are both using the same computer (IP address 94.20.176.4), so if you really think his question was a good question, why don’t you turn to him and ask him, rather than wasting my time asking the same thing three times.
April 24, 2018 at 07:39
22XXX : 100%
25XXX : 70%
26XXX : 60%
27XXX : 40%
29XXX : 20%
30XXX : 5%
April 23, 2018 at 19:23
hi simon
this is the only site where people can make question about dv lottery and get an answer. its like a church and you are the highest priest :). winners from eu ” me including” will start lossing their logic and put silly question in this three remaining month.
anyway i i think you are doing a good job giving some reasoning to the people.
stay strong and good bless you
April 24, 2018 at 10:36
for someone it is really too hard to read comments below article. what are you going to do guys in america? If you can’t read simply informations. Ppl are asking the same stupid questions, asking for calling to kcc, asking for chances, etc. OMG.
For EU.
Everything under 22.500 is safe.
Cases from 22.500 – 23.500 – little risky (70% for interview)
Cases 23.500 – 26.500 – high risk ( 30% for interviev)
26.500 – 29.000 – (10 % for interview)
But CAL’s predictions, and his data explanations shows exactly that this year cut off will be very low – 23.000EU shud be over. It can happen in next VB or one after.
April 24, 2018 at 01:06
Dear Simon,
I have included my husband and kids as derivatives. Now my husband doesn’t want to have the visa in the near future due to some personal reasons, do I need to remove him from the list of derivatives? Or simply he not going to the interview and medical (in case we have the chance for interview)? Many thanks!
April 24, 2018 at 01:27
You can’t remove him from the DS260 – so yes – he simply does not attend. However, that will raise questions about custody for the kids, and possibly finances. Be prepared for that.
April 24, 2018 at 05:34
Thanks Simon!
Then for interview, if he does not attend, do I need to prepare his documents and bring along for checking? Or they simply won’t request? Thanks!
April 24, 2018 at 14:18
You don’t take his documents.
April 24, 2018 at 15:49
Thanks
April 24, 2018 at 07:19
Hi Mr. Brit, Thank you so much for your great help. Can I submit two affidavit of support as two of my friends wanna help me?. I am single.
April 24, 2018 at 14:09
No – one.
April 25, 2018 at 00:47
Thank you so much
April 24, 2018 at 16:05
Does one of them want to help me instead
April 24, 2018 at 16:30
A sponsor that you don’t know is useless.
April 25, 2018 at 06:25
Actually, one of them is a friend of my friend and she sent it directly to the embassy with my case number because she wanna keep her privacy. The second one is my friend and he sent it to me?. I don’t what should I do, could you advise me please? My appointment is in May.
April 25, 2018 at 06:27
I don’t know what should I do, could you advise me please?
April 25, 2018 at 13:42
The one sent to the embassy is useless. Make sure the remaining one meets the criteria. Use the FAQ
April 26, 2018 at 00:18
Thank you so much for your great support
April 24, 2018 at 07:28
Hi Simon,
My number is up for June interview and I received my 2NL.
In the instruction for the embassy of Brussels, I had to make an appointment online on their website to confirm my interview date and the address where they can sent the passports to.
When I had to register the interview date, I was asked to provide details for the applicant (which is myself). I could also add other applicants. Here is my doubt. Should I also add my wife and kids as applicants (since I had to provide my passport number but not theirs) or not since they are my beneficiaries.
Thanks for your reply.
April 24, 2018 at 14:08
Add the other applicants.
April 24, 2018 at 11:00
Please I want to thank you for all the help you are giving us. My visa has been issued and all thanks to you Britt. You helped me from day one. Thanks so much
April 24, 2018 at 13:56
Congratulations!
April 24, 2018 at 14:17
Hello Mr. Brit. I’m William Kei, my CN is in AF46k, and the previous person i ask to sent me affidavit agreed and now don’t want to sent it, and i have found another person who having to be an american White lady, and she said she wont sent me the affidavit through email instead she will sent it to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. I’m a bit confused What do i do now?
April 24, 2018 at 16:56
That is no good. You take it to the interview, and show it *IF ASKED*.
April 24, 2018 at 17:08
Hello Brit,
AS689* from Nepal, what are the chances? Please update at least the rough prediction for remaining 3 months VB.
April 24, 2018 at 17:11
Wait and see.
April 24, 2018 at 17:17
Hi Brit. I want to understand one thing: a few days ago you said that EU28000 CAN BE real (or a bit less). Now you are telling us about 23500 as a maximum number. Whats happened ? Whats going on ?
April 24, 2018 at 17:22
Neither thing is true. I posted about how pace would have to move to get to 28000 – but that wasn’t a prediction as I made clear in that post.
You have seen other people, not me, mention or predict 23500.
April 25, 2018 at 00:35
i have a friend of mine who is seeking for asylum here in the USA but had appried for green card so he is wondering if by chance can get a green card he can bring his wife he left through green card because he is not allowed to leave the country and he can not go back in his origin country for interview but the wife is still in the country
April 25, 2018 at 00:41
I only answer DV lottery questions.
