People are now receiving their 2NLs for May interviews, it will take a few hours – and possibly even a couple of days before all have gone out.
The email itself has no useful information. It simply tells you to check the ESC site for the interview details. Some people that receive the email will find the ESC site is not ready, those people should try again after a few hours. Also, some people find the email itself goes to a trash or spam folder or somehow miss it. So – if you think you may have been scheduled but missed your email, you can check the ESC site, just in case. The 1NL (you have been selected letter) is replaced by a new letter which gives the appointment details.
It would be GREAT if those that received their 2NLs would add a reply to this message saying when they submitted their DS260 and their case number. That helps us understand the processing time for the DS260 and let’s us understand the backlog
Please add your first submission date, and if you unlocked please add that resubmission date and the data you changed. That is helpful for all.
Now – if you do not get your expected interview, please come back here and read updates to this page to see the feedback I will have received.

Hey Brits! I’m living in Georgia. I was one of 2015 dvist. I have my friend who won to the dv lottery 2016, his case number is about 26000, but he has lost his confirmation number so he doesn’t know how to get his 2nd letter. Which solution for him?
Sicerely
March 25, 2016 at 22:57
He can use the lost confirmation number link on the ESC page.
March 25, 2016 at 21:46
Hi Simon,
I just received my 2NL, 2016AF24XXX
DS-260 initially submitted on 20 May 2015, unlocked and resubmitted on 15 Nov 2015.
Note:
I have submitted my first three names in eDV and that was the name that came out on 1NL
In DS-260, I added fourth name as in my passport and birth certificate, but 2NL came out with the only three names as in eDV and 1NL
On the contrary, I changed the current address to one other than mentioned in eDV and 1NL, the changed address came out in 2NL
So, why they updated the address and not the name as in DS-260 on 2NL ?
I would appreciate your input.
Thanks.
March 25, 2016 at 22:56
That is normal – the name of the person who entered the lottery is not changed (which makes sense). There is a process for updating the address. Again – that makes sense.

Thanks for your updates.U.S embassy in Ghana is getting hotter and hotter. Two of m friend were refused last week.1st person was refused because there is no school on his high sch cert but he sat for private examination which is accepted(West Africa Examination).2nd person was refused on experienced grounds. He holds bachelor degree. His question was that after high sch what experience has he had.He is a teacher by profession.when he gave his answer the co gave him a white sheet n marked education and experience column so he too was refused.I don’t know what is happening in Ghana.People are upset when there are going for their interviews in us embassy in Ghana.Britsimon any advise or ideas for Ghanaians?
March 25, 2016 at 22:55
Present genuine documents, hopefully all the information on the eDV and DS260 are correct and verifiable. Then keep calm and clearly answer the questions…
March 25, 2016 at 23:23
hi brit am happy that I got 2NL hours ago. Thank you brit for the good words you released when I ask you last time b/c words are powerful. myCN af238xx,
ds 260 submitted may 21, never unlocked, interview date may 2. congra for those who received 2NL may GOD be with all of us
March 26, 2016 at 15:58
Hi Simon,
Based on the case study above, he mentioned his friend failed in the experience column and got rejected even though he had a Bachelors Degree. I did my Cambridge A levels and few months ago graduated with a BSC hons (IT) University of Porthsmouth degree from an affiliated collage. Is it possible for me to get rejected on education because I do not have experience on my particular field of study?. Lastly, i am from Nepal and stayed in Singapore because my dad used to work there. I have returned back to Nepal and have been staying in Nepal for approximately 10 years now. On nov 2015 I went to Singapore for 2 weeks to collect my police clearance certificate. My interview is scheduled for the beginning of May this year. During my interview, the pcc would be approximately 6 to 7 months old. Do i have to go back to Singapore to make a new pcc? Or would the current pcc from Singapore and Nepal would be sufficient? Since I have been staying for approx 10 years now and I only went back to Singapore on Nov 2015 for 2 weeks to collect my PCC. My point being, will the PCC of Singapore from nov 2015 and nepal pcc which i would receive later this week be sufficient or will I have to return back to Singapore to get a new pcc from a later date? Thank you.
March 26, 2016 at 17:15
Your education and old PCC will be fine.

March 25, 2016 at 23:10
Dear uncle Simon,
First of all I want to say thank you.
I husband, the principal applicant and I submitted our DS 260 on the 6th of Aug. 2015 without our children. We unlock on the 3rd of march 2016 and included our four kits and completed their DS 260. We have received our 2nl on 25th March 2016
March 26, 2016 at 00:51
Fast process, did they process your kids DS 260? are they included in the 2nl?
March 26, 2016 at 02:08
Hi Rahal,
Yes, all four being include. As a matter of fact I thank God for Mr Brit and this blog. I wrote him on the 2nd of may to ask concerning leaving out our kids for now and apply for them later but he advised us that any other way for us to include them will be far more expensive and time consuming and the best option was to unlock and include them and to do it fast before the release of the VB for April which he was very certain will include our case (2016AF27K). We followed his advice and we reacted immediately.
Mr Brits advice are the best!!!

~hi brit,
got my 2nd letter on 25th march, interview 2nd of May.
my cn is Af25xxx.Submitted my ds~260 in May 13th, 2015 then unlock and resubmitted to add our new baby on the 27th of october, 2015.
~brit but i got a problem and i need clearification. On our 2nd letter its just me as the principal applicant and my wife as a beneficiary but my baby was not added on the 2nd letter.
~N/B: i added our child both under my ds-260 and that of my wife but i did not create her own because i donot want her to travel with us to the US now but some years letter because i want her to learn my culture and be educated up to secondary school in my country.so please is there any explanation for the childs name not on the 2nd letter and whats your advice for me.thanks brit.
March 26, 2016 at 03:59
Beneficiaries added after the original entry are usually not listed. So – it is normal.
March 26, 2016 at 04:46
brit but i got married to my wife after the entry 6th feb,2015 but she has been listed.is it because i created a ds~260 fir her as she will be migrating with me but not our baby who is just 5months old now.
March 26, 2016 at 05:12
I’m not certain – don’t worry about it.
March 26, 2016 at 03:46
Hi Brit !!i got my 2nl today,I submit my ds260 at the end of June, never unlocked.my interview is on May 25th.

March 26, 2016 at 04:36
Hallo Brit…just got an Email from KCC but when I checked my visa status said in the transit… what does it means.
March 26, 2016 at 05:16
“In Transit”
This status is shown for a brief period when KCC has scheduled the interview, and transferred the case to the embassy. However, the embassy has not yet updated CEAC to acknowledge they have received the case.
“READY”
This is the next status after in transit. It means the case has arrived at the embassy for interview. Sometimes a case will continue to show ready even after the interview.
March 26, 2016 at 06:04
Dear Britsimon,
Thank you for your constructive support. I have just received my 2nd NL yesterday, but my newly born baby is not included under the beneficiary. I completed my DS260 in May 2015 but unlocked it and included my new baby to my case and re-submitted on December 7, 2015. DS260 for this new baby reads “completed” but not include in my interview schedule under ” BENEFICIARIES”
What is the problem? Who can handle such cases?
Thanks?
March 26, 2016 at 14:23
It is normal the newly added baby is not on the 2NL. However, I just want to check – you added the baby to your DS260 AND you created a DS260 for the baby – right?
March 26, 2016 at 06:41
Thanks Brit
March 26, 2016 at 07:00

March 26, 2016 at 14:21
Please look at the CEAC data posts and look at the data file – you can get those answers yourself from the data.
March 26, 2016 at 09:19
Simon,
Can I get medical certificate without showing 2nd NL because my newly born baby is not included in 2nd NL? I filled him in DS260 and included to my case.
March 26, 2016 at 14:20
They won’t worry about the baby not being on the 2NL. Just show what you have.
March 26, 2016 at 09:56
Hi brit
My friend is a winner in dv2016 and she has a daughter around 22 years old (born in august 1993)
the question is : they can give her a visa or no ??
if it’s no, what’s the solution to bring her daughter to the USA ??
thanks
March 26, 2016 at 14:19
She cannot be a DV beneficiary – but once he is living in the USA he can sponsor her – which will take about 2 years.
March 26, 2016 at 14:40
I haven’t yet received the email but I just read the letter on ESC thanks to you. We are very grateful for all you do.
March 26, 2016 at 15:49
hey Rita,
your lebanese right ?
March 26, 2016 at 16:01
Hi Brit,
I have a question. I am going to be current in the next visa bulletin and my interview will be in Jun. I submitted my form in May 2015 and unlocked in July and resubmitted in the same month. Is this unlocking going to delay my interview from the beginning of June to the end of the month? Is it right to say that those winners that get current in a specific month and have smaller case numbers go to the interview earlier in month than those with a higher case number?
Thx
March 26, 2016 at 17:14
No, the ordering in the month is not by case number, and your unlocking won’t affect it.
March 26, 2016 at 16:12
My CN AS62** is now current, but haven’t received the 2NL yet… I’ll wait next couple days…
March 26, 2016 at 17:13
Check the ESC site.
March 26, 2016 at 17:23
Hi mr brit thank you for this helpful job I received my 2Nls today, I sent my Ds260 on the End of october and never unlock…please tell me how my brother from america can fill I-134 for me and how will he send it to me…give me also the links
March 26, 2016 at 18:25
Use the magnifying glass search function at the top right of this page.
March 27, 2016 at 06:26
Sorry sir i can’t find it my self could u send me the links
March 26, 2016 at 19:03
Hi BritSimon, Thank you for your advice.
I just checked ESC site. But the interview date was not mentioned…
Maybe I should wait next few days…
Hope I will receive the letter soon.
Thank you.
March 26, 2016 at 19:17
Hmmmm – perhaps it will be June. When did you submit your DS260?
March 26, 2016 at 19:24
I did submit DS260 on May 11, 2015. never unlocked…
I live in NYC on H1b so I will do AOS.
March 27, 2016 at 01:35
Well you won’t get a “normal” 2NL then. AoS cases have a different process – for AoS the 2NL is the letter from KCC acknowledging your intention to adjust status. I assume you have submitted your I-485 package?
March 26, 2016 at 22:35
When you will post prediction of new visa vbultin.
Have good night
March 27, 2016 at 01:31
In a few days…
March 30, 2016 at 00:31
Thank you for your advice, BritSimon.
I just asked about 2NL to my lawyer, and he told me I have to wait to send the AOS package to Chicago Lock till May when my CN will be on current.
Is it true? Thank you for your assistance.
March 30, 2016 at 01:10
No. Your lawyer is incorrect – he doesn’t know about the early filing policy in place for DV cases – described in the memo below. Tell him from me – “you’re welcome”.
https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/USCIS/Laws/Memoranda/2013/August/DV-Related%20I-485%20Applications%20.pdf
March 30, 2016 at 13:53
Thank you very much, BritSimon.
I will talk about it to my lawyer later!
March 26, 2016 at 17:14
for some countries it is necessary to register your interview appointment 7 days prior to the interview date at the website https://ais.usvisa-info.com/
March 26, 2016 at 17:16
Sort of. You are simply registering for the courier service.
March 26, 2016 at 17:30
hello mr simons my interview is on the 3rd of may i called the doctor to make thr medical !! they gave me sn appontement 17 days before the interview !!!!??? my question is that ok or its better to do it earlier than that ??? that was the vacant appointement they gave me !!! by the way they know the exact time of my interview !!!
March 26, 2016 at 18:21
That seems enough time to me – but they are aware of their own speeds…
March 26, 2016 at 17:41
@BritSimon its not for courier as you are required to bring the registration confirmation page with you for the interview. Please see the following message extracted from the website of one such US embassy “You are required to visit https://ais.usvisa-info.com/ to register your appointment at least 7 business days before attending your interview. You should print the confirmation page showing the registration of your appointment and bring it to the Embassy with you on the day of your interview. Instructions for registering your appointment are at the end of this document”.
March 26, 2016 at 18:05
Hello Simon,
Hope you are doing well, and many thanks for your help.
I want to ask about the remaining number of visas in ASIA, I mean, what is the quota of Asia in 2016? and how much was consumed until now?
Also I want to ask if there any possibility to be current but not scheduled for an interview because of late submission of DS-260, is this possible?
thanks
March 26, 2016 at 18:20
Take a look at the Ceac data posts for issued so far.
The quota should be 8000 to 8500.
If someone delayed sending their ds260 until june, they could miss out.
March 26, 2016 at 18:22
I feel Ds 260 @ June 4 and I got my 2NL ……
is there registration for interview at z embassy
March 26, 2016 at 22:07
Hello Simon
I am the principal applicant. I have made a mistake in my wife middle name when I entered the lottery fields. I fixed this mistake in ds260.
My question, will the 2NL contains the derivative names? If yes, will it contains the fixed middle name in ds260 or the one that was entered in the lottery?
Thank you.
March 27, 2016 at 01:32
I’m not certain – but it won’t matter.
March 27, 2016 at 08:22
Thank you,
This is important because the 2NL will enable us to pass the borders to the country where the interview will take place.
If you allow me, I want to ask people who can see this blog, if any one had the same problem.
So the question is,
If the name of a derivative is different between the lottery & DS-260, which name will KCC use in 2NL?
Thank you Simon, I hope winners with similar situation help me answering this question.
regards
March 27, 2016 at 10:24
Good day uncle sorry for this disturbing i just need the links that we can use to download a form I-134 please sir
March 27, 2016 at 14:48

March 26, 2016 at 22:35
First of all. I want to thank you britsimons for all your efforts to answer all questions asked to you. I received my 2nl yesterday. Submission date of ds260 15.June2016., never unlocked. Appointment date : 5.may.2016. Case no. Af240xx. Egypt

Hi,good day to u Simon.first thank you.im from Sri lanka and AS82**.do u have any idea when i will be current.
March 27, 2016 at 14:43
I have already discussed this with you – several times.
March 27, 2016 at 06:18
Hi Simon
My interview has been scheduled on early May. AS59XX, submitted D260 end of May 2015. Also would like to know is it a must to get a sponsor to sign the I-134 form even if i have sufficient funds? If yes, does it need to be the same person I mentioned when filling my D260? (The website does not mention about the I-134 in the required documents) Many thanks for your helps
March 27, 2016 at 14:52
Some embassies will insist on the I-134 even if you have sufficient funds. So – it’s up to you to decide…
March 27, 2016 at 15:55
Hi I am Srilankan as well.
May mid interviews could you share your experience?
March 27, 2016 at 11:48
Hi i have a question in my application i have to included m’y wife and my twoo kids.i would like to know if i can appear with m’y famille and let the conselor officer know that i will be travelling with m’y wife only? Thé kids will follow US after one year we Seattle down
March 27, 2016 at 14:54
The visas will be issued with a 6 month expiry – so – your kids will have to travel by then.
March 27, 2016 at 12:20
Hi Mr Simon thank you so much it’s good job, i want ask you what’is your predictions for next vb for AF
March 27, 2016 at 14:54
patience patience !!!! that is great you dear sir have a lot of it . i think it accumulated in your personality thru dealing with dv questions and answers . i am writing what i want tobreach u is you are a great man !!! honestly you dont know me of course but i kind of after a year following yr blog i kind of feel that u hv to be encouraged by people like me to say you r a good honest patient man .! i salute you thank u fir being there for us !!!!!
March 27, 2016 at 15:06
Brit m’y question if we wont to go and kids Come after one year procedure DV we wont to now if it will be possible ans thé simple procedure
March 27, 2016 at 17:21
the simple procedure would be u and your family going at once or before the expiry of your kids visa. coz they expire before u or they enter the USA they wont be admitted in the USA at the POE. so the other way is by petitioning for them which according to the info i know it takes two yrs or more
March 28, 2016 at 00:48
If you do not get the kids their visas through the DV process (and travel within the validity of the visa), you can sponsor them later. However, that form of sponsorship will take more money and much more time – at least 2 years.
March 27, 2016 at 15:27
Good day mr brit.a friend of mine told me about this blog.I have read through it and ia really helpful.may the almighty God grant your heart desires. Pls Brit help me to rectify this case coz I was misled. I won the dv 2016 with case no af383**.I won as single do I filled my ds260 form as single in june 1 , 2015.befor then I had a fiance, he later propose to me.we later got married in October that is civil marriage. In my mine I knew I had to travel first Befor I will file for him later.but someone advice me to unlock my form and add him as a derivative without filling his ds260 form.he said I should do it like this coz I have to notify the kcc that am marrried even though the derivative is not coming with me.brit I did just as he said.so when I discovered tjoa your blog I read about the marriage part and I discovered that I have made a mistake and only can be of help.I never filled my husband ds260 coz I knew that once u hv filled ur own for as single it should remain so.the person said I should then take my marriage certificate snd pictures to the interview and that is the co who will decide if I should take my husband along.please advice me on what to do.thanks waiting. Please dont forget that I earlier added him as a derivative. Thanks
March 28, 2016 at 00:52
If you want him to get a Green Card you should create a DS260 for him attached to your case. They already know you have married because of your DS260 – so there is no additional risk in adding him now. You will be asked to prove your marriage is genuine, as you already know.
March 27, 2016 at 15:55
Hi Brit,I won DV2016 and I added wife and her 2 kids.we want for interview in January.we were put on on Administrative Processing. All our original decuments left there and our passport was given back to us.I want to know our chances and possililities for geting our visa
March 28, 2016 at 00:53
I don’t know anything about your case or why you are on AP – so how can I possibly comment on your chances?
March 27, 2016 at 16:35
Good afternoon sir. i arrived USA.am one of the DV 2016 winner I success due to your help and thanks a million for your help.i have another question I got married last February 25 /2016 after my interview.my question is. 1,how can I start the process to bring my wife to USA? 2,how long it take to bring?am waiting for your reply.thanks.
March 29, 2016 at 05:40
The process for you is now normal family based sponsorship. I don’t advise on that – other than to say it will take around 2 years.
March 27, 2016 at 16:37
Hi sir, Am Sahr williams from Liberia, N I am one of the DV winner of 2015 to 2016, my case # is 53 up to Now I have not yet receiver any information ur yet, sir can u please Advised me when will be my interview date please sir.
March 28, 2016 at 00:54
I assume you mean your number is 53XXX – if correct you have to wait some more months. THe final Visa bulletin will be published in July – and that is when you will know if they will reach your number.
March 27, 2016 at 16:56
Am DV 2016 winner and am now in USA.i got married last February 25/2016.my question 1,how I can start the process to bring my wife 2,how long it take the process 3,how much money should I save to bring her?
March 28, 2016 at 00:56
That is family based sponsorship. I don’t know much about it – but it takes about 2 years. You can research how to do it yourself or engage a lawyer. It is a shame you did not do this as part of the DV process – which is faster and less expensive.
March 27, 2016 at 17:35
Dear Simon, Thanks for your effort. I would like to ask for your advise about a certain issue.
My interview will be June. I submitted my DS _260 in May. I just discovered that the name of my secondary school in my application form is a bit different than in my Secondary school certificate. The name in the certificate contains certain abbreviations such as priv. for private and co-edu for coeducation. so my question is : should I unlock my DS_260 and write the name as it is in the certificate or those little differences do not matter.
THANKS
March 28, 2016 at 00:57
The little differences don’t matter.
March 27, 2016 at 17:51
Hi simon,
On the Ds-260 forms the address that i have provided for my green card letter to be sent, now that person has moved to another address. And we have an interview next week in embassy. What should i do please. I couldnt unlock my forms. What should i do?
March 28, 2016 at 00:57
Inform them at the interview.
March 27, 2016 at 19:46
Hi Brit,
I received a notification email to check any updates. But the only change I can see is current processing site i.e the embassy of the country where I reside. I expected to receive information about the interview date. Is this normal?
Thanks!
