2NLs are starting to be sent for April interviews (DV2019).
Some people previously got 2NL emails but then had to wait days or even a couple of weeks before the interview letter showed on the ESC page. Other people waited until the beginning of the following month to get their 2NLs and ESC page update. So – be patient, stay calm. Some physicians won’t schedule the medicals unless you have the 2NL in hand, BUT there is plenty of time before these interviews, no need to stress out!
VERY IMPORTANT. 2NLs will be sent during the remainder of the month. If you do not get yours today – no need to freak out, just wait. There is no need to ask me about specific regions or countries, assume any country or region could have 2NLs as late as the last day of the month (last day in the USA, not where you live).
Also, you will not get the 2NL if you have not submitted your DS260 AND your documents to KCC AND your case number is current (lower than the VB number for your region). If ANY of those three things are not true you will not get the 2NL, and there is no need to ask me about that – it should be clear.
The email itself has no useful information. It simply tells you to check the ESC site for the interview details. Some people that receive the email will find the ESC site is not ready, those people should try again after a few hours. Also, some people find the email itself goes to a trash or spam folder or somehow miss it. So – if you think you may have been scheduled but missed your email, you can check the ESC site, just in case. The 1NL (you have been selected letter) is replaced by a new letter which gives the appointment details. You log in to the ESC page with your original confirmation code (from when you entered the lottery.

Thanks for your help Mr Brit!!!
February 20, 2019 at 18:28
Hello Brit,
Thanks for your post.
If a backlog of cases still existed in AS?
Thanks.
February 20, 2019 at 18:53
I don’t know for sure.
February 20, 2019 at 18:58
AS4800 reported that he/she just got 2nl. So that might mean that there was backlog for AS.
February 20, 2019 at 19:01
2 + 2 = 5
February 21, 2019 at 03:09
Well, first of all I would request you to delete all my comments here. Because you disrespect almost every single person who comments here rather than correcting them or giving a useful answer.
Secondly; upto AS5000 was current for March 2019. So anyone who had a CN below that should have been scheduled in March. But I saw from one comment that the guy with CN AS4800 was scheduled in APRIL. To me that looks like a backlog of previous months being accomodated in April.
If you see it differently, you can help all of us and correct us.
February 21, 2019 at 03:49
So your whole theory is based around one case, who could easily have just submitted late. Think.
There may be a backlog, but to base an assessment on this one case is nonsense.
As for you telling me to delete stuff, or how I should behave – you seem to misunderstand that this is my blog, and I don’t answer to you.
February 21, 2019 at 14:58
Well I was the one with AS48** who was scheduled for April because i sent my docs one month late due to some of them not being readily available.
I hope this puts you at ease and answers your question!
February 20, 2019 at 18:28
I got my 2LNs for interview and I just submitted my documents last month on the 21st. As long as your documents is submitted, correct and true. After submitting and you are current just be patient. You have a month to get it your letter. That’s my experience. Good luck to all. May God bless you.
February 20, 2019 at 18:43
Great, thanks
February 20, 2019 at 18:43
Hi everybody, hope you all doing good!!
Thank you so much BritSimon !! Your blog is great help for everybody here !!
Just got our interview time for first week in April, case no EU16xxx.
Everybody ,good luck !!
February 21, 2019 at 03:27
Case no EU13xxx and nothing get to now…joujou you have 16xxx and get interview…what is problem here?
i send all documents in Ian. 14 then i get this in 16. Records indicate you have submitted a complete and valid DS-260 application for each family member, and you have provided all required documentation to the Kentucky Consular Center.
Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing. Interviews for the DV 2019 program will begin in October 2018 and conclude on September 30, 2019. Please refer to the visa bulletin at http://www.travel.state.gov to locate the current numbers being processed. This bulletin is updated after the 15th day of each month. Once an interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via email to check http://www.dvlottery.state.gov.
what now?
Thx
February 21, 2019 at 03:44
Wait.
February 20, 2019 at 18:59
Hello Brit! My case number is 2019EU21XXX. I wrote to KCC about 4 documents a few days ago (they didnt send me email about 4 documents). So i asked if i can send it now or just wait email about from KCC. They sent me email like that:
Thank you for your inquiry.
For security purposes, KCC cannot reveal any information regarding your case if you cannot provide all the required information. Please provide the Principal Applicant’s information listed below.
In order to continue processing your case, you must submit electronic copies of the required documents in .jpeg or.pdf format to [email protected]. Use your case number as the subject of the email. The maximum email size is 30MB. If the total size of your attachments is larger than 30MB, send multiple emails using your case number as the subject of each email. Please send your documents for KCC review only after you have collected all of the required documents for yourself and all accompanying family members. Send documents only to the [email protected] email address; for any document processing questions use the [email protected] email address.
The following documents are required for all applicants:
• Copy of the international travel passport biodata page
• Birth certificate
• Military records for any applicant who is currently serving in the military or who has previously served in the military. If you have not served in the military, military records are not required.
• Police certificates for applicants 16 years of age or older from all required countries, which can be found at https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/diversity-visa-program-entry/diversity-visa-if-you-are-selected/diversity-visa-prepare-supporting-documents.html. Click the link to find if a police certificate is required for your country. If a police certificate will be sent directly to the Embassy or Consulate, submit to KCC a copy of the receipt showing you have applied.
• If you have been convicted of a crime, a certified copy of each court record and any prison record. This is only needed if you have been convicted of a crime.
So, should i send 4 documents now or wait when my case number will be active and they send another email about that? I am waiting for your answer. Thanks in advance!
February 20, 2019 at 19:01
Now.
February 22, 2019 at 14:26
But in another mail they send me like:
Your forms have been received and are currently processing. Allow several weeks for processing. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing. Once the Kentucky Consular Center has finished processing your DS-260, you will receive an email from the Kentucky Consular Center giving you instructions to complete in order for your case to continue processing.
So i collected 4 documents but i dont if send it nor or not. Because in email (on the up) it says “Once the Kentucky Consular Center has finished processing your DS-260, you will receive an email from the Kentucky Consular Center giving you instructions to complete in order for your case to continue processing”. Help me please
February 22, 2019 at 15:10

February 26, 2019 at 16:42

My case no 29*** do I send my documents now ?? Is that the email I was waiting for ? And also I have a daughter so do I send her birth certificate etc also or just my own 4 documents ?

Thank you so much Mr. Brit!
February 22, 2019 at 19:22
Hi Brit, my case number is Af21Xxx. I submitted my DS-260 form in August 2018, but notice I had an error. I wrote and my DS-260 reopened in February 2019. I was about to do the changes, I received email, telling me that they have completed my process base on the information i sent last year. Can I leave that information and do the changes to submit?

February 20, 2019 at 21:34
hi Brit God bless you. thanks to God I received my 2nl for April. but I would like to know if that’s correct to have my child on the appointment mail even though I didn’t complete a DS 260 for her .
thanks you
February 20, 2019 at 21:56
Your 2NL is based on the people on your original entry – so it is normal if you are not taking your child.
February 20, 2019 at 22:01
thank you for your reply.
February 21, 2019 at 10:58
she was not in my first entry because she is not born yet. I have updated the DS 260 at her birth.

February 21, 2019 at 05:18
Hello. Britsimon.
Thank you for your supporting
I won dv 2019 also I was filed my ds 260 also i sent my docments to kcc and they replayed an email they will schedule my interview my rationality is a somali What do you think I will meet To that interview?
February 21, 2019 at 06:33
You can get an interview but as you are under the travel ban you will not get the visa – so you would be wasting your time and money to proceed.
February 21, 2019 at 12:12
Dear Brit, last year in spite of the travel ban some people from diversity lottery were given a visa as the following: Iran 318, Libya 47, North Korea 1, Syria 55, Venezuela 929, Yemen 28 and Somalia 11. I do not put the numbers to show off or to brag but to clarify that point more so you can help me to understand better. As person from one of those country when I saw those numbers I became confused because it seems there is not “absolute” travel ban on those countries and at the same time I trust so much in your experience and judgment but you always said that people from those countries have no chance unless they have another citizenship.
So, do we -the people from the ban countries- still have slight chance to get visa based on those numbers or we just need to accept the harsh fact that there is no way that we overcome the ban?. I am really torn between your frequent comments on this matter and their numbers and appreciate any comment that may clarify this matter more for me and for the other with the same issue or question. Many thanks.
February 21, 2019 at 14:58
There were three versions of the ban, and many court cases. The current ban was in effect from December 2017 and for a small period of time (October to December) there was some ability to process cases. From December the ban was almost totally in force, but even then there would be some visas issued for example to people with dual citizenships or people that were already in the USA on non immigrant visas.
Realistically there is almost no chance for someone on the ban without the two conditions I mention to overcome the ban. Visa waivers have an almost impossibly high standard to obtain, and take around 6 months. That with the 6+ months of likely background checks (AP), mean DV cases can’t generally be processed in time even if they could get a waiver (which in itself would be another huge gamble).
So – best advice – save the heartache and accept the reality.
February 21, 2019 at 15:53
Thank you Brit for the the clear explanation. I really appreciate it although the reality is huge disappointment for us.
February 21, 2019 at 08:54
Hi Mr Simon.. For the year I obtained my high school certificate, I mistakenly put 2012 instead of 2013 on my ds260 . Should I unlock n correct it or is not really a big deal!!!
February 21, 2019 at 14:41
It’s not normally a big deal unless there is suspicion about your documents.
February 21, 2019 at 09:17
Hullo Mr BritSimon ! Hope you fine I submitted DS260 last year July (AF45***)
1. Can I send my documents now to KCC ie passport bio data page, interpol & birth certificate.
because I have been reading on your blog & I c some people have sent and what confuses me is that they’re of high case numbers ( reference 28-29k ) so someone with such
2. Somewhere I saw someone on your blog (EU21*** ) also saying received email from KCC to send documents. My question is sometimes don’t they follow case numbers.
Thank you
February 21, 2019 at 14:42
1. It is too early for you to do that with your case number.
2. I know.

February 22, 2019 at 16:11
kwesi are u from Ghana?
February 23, 2019 at 11:24
hello Kwesi,
Let me start by expressing my gratitude to Mr Brit Simon for this platform and then proceed to sharing my experience with you. I am in the same range 2019AF13xxx, filled DS-260 late october and after waiting for a mail asking me to submit documents to no avail, i submitted mid January following Mr Brit’s advice. Was current in March but didn’t receive 2nl so i called KCC. They told me my documents were submitted late but had just been processed so I should wait for later interview schedule. Till date i didn’t receive any mail from them but when i checked the dvlottery.state.gov site my 2nl has been sent. So i suggest u do same and/or call KCC by this month end to know your precise situation. thanks
February 21, 2019 at 17:30
hi brit case number 11 ××× current for january but i am not yet received my 2nl, a courier was sent to me on january 30 to return my file, what i did and until then not always of 2nl, there is Because of worry
February 21, 2019 at 19:02
Hi brit,
I had a question….so I have joint sponsor which my embassy asked me to have both of them live in Washington Seattle…bt we wanted to go and live with my mothers brother in LA..he has not sponsored us but we used his address in our ds 260…so my question was can we go to la instead of Washington…will it cause any problems if I go to LA. Thank u
February 21, 2019 at 19:26
No problem.
February 21, 2019 at 20:20
Hi Simon.
In 2016, when there were still 5 more Visa Bulletins to come out, you have published a very specific analyse about what was the expectancy about the remaining time.
My question is:
– Will it be possible from your side to come forward with a similar analyse in the near future about this year expectations ?
Thank you.
February 21, 2019 at 22:24
I think you have seen my explanations about the new document procedure. So – one thing is mathematical calculation of how many visas can be issued, but the other aspect (which is currently unknown is the effect of the new procedure). That is the factor that makes me reluctant to make any specific predictions.
February 21, 2019 at 20:33
Dear Brit ,
Stupid question from my side regarding fee:
this is published on Embassy Web site so is this for each applicants or only for whole participants .
Diversity Visa Application fee of $330.00 USD: to be paid in
cash (in dollars or euros) at the consular section on the date of interview;
February 21, 2019 at 22:25
Each person applying for a Green Card.
February 21, 2019 at 20:58
Hi Britt
I filled my Ds-260 in october and i printed out my confirmation page, and also sent my documents in November. I unlocked my DS-260 last week and add some information and submit it again And i printed again my confirmation page.
My questions are
1. Which one of the confirmation page do I need to take to my interview ,is it the first one in october or the second one after I unlocked my for to add information this February?
2. Do I need to scan and submit the documents again to kCC ? Or the first documents I submitted to them in November is still with them.
3. Does unlocking the Ds-260 and adding information and resubmitting the form has any effect on your 2nl?
Thanks Brit
February 21, 2019 at 22:27
1. Latest.
2. Have the documents changed?
3. Not normally.
February 22, 2019 at 08:30
2. They are the same documents. I haven’t changed any
February 22, 2019 at 14:51
…. so why would you resubmit them?
February 22, 2019 at 14:25
. They are the same documents. I haven’t changed any
February 22, 2019 at 19:09
If you change omit some information, will out in the new information, is it bad?
February 22, 2019 at 19:21
I can’t answer such a vague question.
February 22, 2019 at 19:34
Hi Brit, my case number is Af21Xxx. I had an error when I was filling my DS-260 form in August last year. I notice that error in February 2019, I immediately I wrote Kcc to reopen my DS-260 form, and they did. The next day, while I was about to do the changes, I received an e-mail that the process was completed, that I need to submit some documents. Can I forget about the email I received and do the correction and resubmit? I really want to do the changes
February 22, 2019 at 19:44
Yes. Change what you need to then submit.
February 21, 2019 at 22:12
Hello Brit!
Thanks for your multiple blogs, they are really hepful. Please Brit, , I’m current for April but KCC sent me an email this evening asking for my docs again. I sent it for the first time in november. I resent the docs with the old criminal records I had forgetting that it eas expired already. My question is, 1)please is it cause any problem if I collect the new one tomorrow and send only that? 2) or I should collect it and resend all the other documents with it again?
Thanks!!
February 21, 2019 at 22:28
If needing to resend, send the complete pack.
February 21, 2019 at 22:32
Ok thanks sir!!
February 22, 2019 at 00:08
Just reporting status here, I have 2019EU19XXX and just got scheduled for beginning of April. I sent the documents a couple weeks after KCC requested them (Requested on 12/31, Sent them on 01/11), which I am guessing is why I got scheduled so early in April despite my number being close to the April cutoff (cutoff for April is 19500).
February 22, 2019 at 02:18
Thanks. How close you are to the cutoff has no impact on when in the month you get scheduled.
February 22, 2019 at 03:20
hello tommy
if i undestand Well you mean that you got 2NL without your case being current on the VB ? because the current VB for EU is 18500 but your case is 2019EU19xxx.
is it possible ? i need your help
February 22, 2019 at 03:42
That is not possible, so it is clearly a misunderstanding/mistake.
February 22, 2019 at 06:51
Hi, my mistake, my number is actually 2019EU18XXX
February 22, 2019 at 00:57
Hello Mr Brit I did fill my ds260 us main applicant but my wife and my kid I didn’t touch it since they are not going with me does it make my ds260 uncomplete.
February 22, 2019 at 02:19
No – you can leave their DS260 incomplete if they are not emigrating.
February 22, 2019 at 09:42
Hi Brit ,thank you so much for all your effort ,I’m AF 107××,I won the lottery as family,we 3got our visas yesterday,we are feeling super excited.i pray God Blesses you

I just realised I could send all the documents only on monday to the KCC. I’m current for April. Do I have any chance to be interviewed still in april please?
Thanks
February 22, 2019 at 16:01

February 22, 2019 at 10:44
Hello brit CN AF44xxx I Knox its prety big CN but m’y question is , van i sens thé document for principal ans épouse before kcc request ?
February 22, 2019 at 16:54
Yes, but it is too soon. Wait a couple of months.
February 22, 2019 at 14:26
Hello Brit How are You? Do you know if the 2NL are send all togheter or if they send they in diffferent days?
Im asking this because mi case number is 1xx, and on january 7th I received the email saying: “Records indicate you have submitted a complete and valid DS-260 application for each family member, and you have provided all required documentation to the Kentucky Consular Center. ”
But I was not scheduled for March interviews, and I still do not receive the 2NL for April interviews. I´m a bit worry
February 22, 2019 at 17:13
PLEASE READ the article above.
February 22, 2019 at 14:33
Hi Brit , AF 12,*** my wife and I send our ds260 in October and received email to send additional documents which we did on December 20 ,2018 and had not yet received 2nl.is there any problem.
February 22, 2019 at 17:14
The only problem is your lack of patience. 🙂
February 22, 2019 at 18:22
hahahaaha,lol
February 22, 2019 at 20:44
greetings … Can you tell us something that is done with the back issues ?? Compared with the 2018 so far are about +800 overwhelmed issues ……. Can you give us an explanation please ?? ?? My cn is EU 29400 and feel very tense …
February 22, 2019 at 21:32
The new document procedure caused some impact and caused a backlog. I don’t know for certain what will happen next, although the fact that some cases will miss out because they fail to follow the new procedure may be advantageous to high case numbers. Other than that – wait and see.
February 22, 2019 at 21:41
hello..my cas is 2019af43400 please men say something about us do we have a chance you can t imagin how this is stressful
February 23, 2019 at 14:23
Of course I can imagine the stress. I have been through it.
Your number should be OK but you really have to wait and see.
February 22, 2019 at 23:05
Hi Brit thank you for your efforts could you please explaine why some people are current and they dont receive 2nl even they submit ds260 and all required documents and other with case number higher and receive it.
February 23, 2019 at 02:46
I stand corrected, but from the article I gather that the 2NL are issued over a span of time which lapse maybe at the end of the month. The people with higher case numbers than yours who have received their 2NL might have submitted their documents before you or they are in a country where there isn’t much pressure on the consulate. It is an ongoing process so be patient, the 2NL will finally come as long as you are current.
February 23, 2019 at 14:24
Vases are not all processed at the same speed, some need more time.
February 23, 2019 at 02:38
Hello Britsim,
The work you put in for us is much appreciated. I have come upon this blog long ago but have not had the need to ask any questions since all my questions were answered by the comments around here. My case number is 2019AF000003xx and I completed and submitted my DS260 mid January. I was told to take, along with other documents, my son’s birth certificate to the interview although I do not intend to take him along now, he is too young (a little over a year old). The one I had did not have his mother’s name in full. So I returned it for the error to be corrected. I don’t know what the problem is but the document hasn’t arrived since. I don’t know when I am likely going to be scheduled for the interview but my question is, should I not be able to get the birth certificate on time, will my case be jeopardized?

That should not cause a problem.

Good morning Simon,
I follow your blog religiously and firstly want to thank you for the detailed information you provide the community.
I fall within the AF region but reside in the UK. We attended our medicals last week and we are due to attend our interview early March. I don’t know if policy has changed but we received a letter via post from the US embassy confirming our interview date and stating what you have advised in previous threads: YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE THE CONSULAR OFFICER WITH PROOF OF ADEQUATE MEANS OF SUPPORT AND NOT LIKELY TO BECOME A PUBLIC CHARGE. A DOMICILED US CITIZEN OR LEGAL PERMANENT RESIDENT MAY COMPLETE EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT, FORM I-134. I hope this information can help others (recent of letter)

Hi Brit, first of all I’d like to thank you for your valuable work. My question is, in DS “The address in US” field I showed my friend’s address but as he informed me recently he is going to move in April. In this case, 1) should I unlock the application and change the address or wait and change the address info during the interview? My case number is EU21xxx. 2) Can I show a business address instead of home address since my friend runs a store and offered using his store’s address?

1.Change at the interview.
2. No
