Dear mr Simon,
Can you pls help me to clarify why they put my case AP after the CO at the interview said “congratulations your visa has approved ” and told me to go and take my passport with a visa satmped within one week. Is it a standard or ?
Details are shown below
IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION
Administrative processing
Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days. Under the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act, Immigrant Visas for “Diversity Visas” cannot be issued after September 30th of the year in which you were selected to apply for a Diversity Visa. For example, entrants into the Diversity Visa Program in Fall of 2011 were selected for Diversity Visa 2012 Program, and selectees MUST apply and receive their visa prior to September 30, 2012 otherwise they lose eligibility to receive a Diversity Immigrant Visa, regardless of additional administrative processing. In addition, please note that some immigrant visas may not be able to be issued if the annual numerical limit for that category has been reached.

July 9, 2017 at 21:06

July 9, 2017 at 21:01

July 9, 2017 at 20:41

IF yes when should she being interview or her Visa will be current??? and someone told her to pay $330 for Dv admistrative fee but we don’t know the time and place Should she pay for it before filling the adjustment of status like right now or when her Visa will current, the same time she gonna resubmit her adjustment of status to USCIS ? please we need your help and sorry for my bad english
July 9, 2017 at 22:11
Hi Brit, the print out on my high school certificate is not clear so I went for an attestaion. Should I send the attested certificate and the main certificate to the interview.
I did the attestation so that the CO wont think I have worked on my Certificate. Thank you.
July 10, 2017 at 06:30
Take it all to the interview – yes.
July 10, 2017 at 05:02
Dear Simon,
I am from Nepal. My case is in range of 58**. I want to know how many other Case numbers are there before my case number.
Is there any way to check it ? Please suggest if there is any process available to check it.
July 10, 2017 at 05:35
I assume you mean 2018AS58XX – always quote it like that.
We can’t tell exactly how many case numbers there are before you, and it doesn’t really matter anyway because we can’t know how many derivatives there are to each case. We can only deal with approximations. I can tell you that it is pretty much impossible to max out the 7% limit for Nepal before your number, so you don’t have to worry.
July 10, 2017 at 06:26
dear Mr. Brit , I submitted today the ds-260 form but only then i noticed that at the end at the location of embassy of interview was empty different from my spouse and son that was correct. i am the principal selectee and I am at the moment in afganistan due to military duties my present adress is different from my family for now but by the time of the interview i will be at my country.
1.is the missing interview location has to do with my actual location?
2. How will i be notified of the location of me interview?
3.can i do something to ad the embassy that all my family will be?
thank you in advance!
July 10, 2017 at 06:36
I already answered this….
July 10, 2017 at 06:49
Hi Simon, please in my case I misplaced my High School Certificate so I went to the West African Examinations Council for a new certificate and they told me certificates are issued once so in the absence of the certificate, attestation is given.
1. Is the attestation acceptable?
2. Someone told me I would need a testimonial from my High School in addition to the certificate. Is the testimonial needed as part of the required documents for dv cases?
July 10, 2017 at 06:51
Procedures vary by country, so I don’t know.
July 10, 2017 at 07:02
Thank you very much for your answer. Please does it answer both questions especially in the case of the attestation being used in place of the certificate?
July 10, 2017 at 07:16
I don’t know…
July 10, 2017 at 18:21
go with both the attestation and a testimonial from your school, you can ask your school, they may have a copy of your certificate, but on a usual day, the attestation should work
July 10, 2017 at 09:50

hi brit
i’am 2017 dv lottery winner and i entered US two days ago, after i entered the states i wanted to change my address for the green to another state taking into account i haven’t paid for the green card until now, and i haven’t applied to the social security number until now ?
my questions are :
1- does changing the address delay the process of getting the green card in anyway? and if yes what is the expected delay time?
2- Is it possible for me to travel to another state and get my social from that state while my green card being sent to another state?
3- from where i can get my social security number in Indiana ?
Thanks in advance
July 10, 2017 at 17:26
1. Your GC will be sent to the address they had on the DS260 and POE. You can’t change that.
2. Yes.
3. The SSA office.
July 10, 2017 at 15:54
Dear Simon,
[Sorry that I’m asking you (for the last time) for this unclear question]
I’m a DV2018 selectee. I submitted the DS-260 Form.
I meet all the requirements, but I’m very concerned (and confused) at ONLY one Point ??
* Have you ever been arrested or convicted for any offence………
I selected the option : NO
I will explain shorlty my past story. I have lived in UK for about 16 months (+ 3 months in Detention in Immigration Centre). From this total time (6 Months was the Valid Visa)
I entered in UK via a valid Visa. Later, my visa got expired and I was an OverStayer.
One day I was at one Store and the Security Staff accussed me for one Item (steal).
This was ridiculous because I was still inside the Store (doing shopping), I was not trying to leave the store without paying the item and I have never stolen smth in my life.
Anyway the Security Staff called the Police and after some min the Police Officers
entered the Store. Fortunately The Police realised that I was Innocent, and for this reason they didn’t
charge me. They told me that you are free to go (we were outside the Store), but in the last moment
they said : We will go in the Police Station to check your identity (to be sure who you are).
They NEVER mentioned : You are under arrest for this reason….. and they never handcuffed me.
After the FingerPrints check, the results shown that : I was a Visa Overstayer.
The Police Officers told me : You have not problems with the UK Police.
But, you will continue with Immigration Officers, because your visa had expired.
No Prosecutor accused me (Never)
After 2 days detained in the Police Station, an Immigration Officer came
and explained me, my case and Immigration Laws in UK.
After that, I was transferred in three different Immigration Centers in UK.
Because of my serious personal circumstances in my home country, I claimed
Assylum when I was in the Immigration Center. After 3 months, when my
case was refused by the Court of Appeal, I was removed from the UK.
The Immigration Officer in my last days in UK, told me (orally) that I will be banned
from UK for 2 years, because I was an Overstayer. I said her SORRY, and I agreed with her.
One month ago I received the Police Certificate from UK that is clean : NO TRACE.
My question is? Is it considered my above story with the UK Police, an ARREST?
Should I UNLOCK the DS-260 Form to select YES, and to explain for what reason
was the arrest?? I want to be very honest in all the DS260 questions.
If you think YES, what should I type in DS260 Form : Arrested for…. ???
Sorry for the long story described here, but I’m concerned about my case.
Thanks a lot Simon
July 10, 2017 at 17:17
WE have discussed this before. I believe full honesty is best – you can choose for yourself.

Hi BritSimon. I have a question about marriage greencard. I just received confirmation number from uscis. And Uscis told us just wait for priority date. Do you know how long usually it takes? Thank you.
July 10, 2017 at 21:36
I don’t know anything about that.
July 10, 2017 at 20:35
Sorry for that, but I checked everywhere but I didn’t see any answer about my question.thanks
July 10, 2017 at 22:34
Hi Simon, where can I find the experiences of interviews and timelines from person whose gotten DV Lottery aproved? We already went to the appointment for the fingerprints, now we are waiting for the appointment for the interview.Do you have any idea how long time can takes? Thank you
July 11, 2017 at 06:29
THe AOS spreadsheet (that “Sm1smom maintains) has timelines for waiting periods for several years of DV lottery. The bottomline is that it varies by case.
July 11, 2017 at 08:27
Hello, dear brit how are you!!! Big Thanks to you and the embassy issued me a visa, I will post my interview experience soon..but I have something to ask you..I followed your blog for 1 year and I think I saw that you say after interview the embassy will give you a sealed envelope and it should be given to authorities at airport..but in my case the embassy gave me a yellow paper and said congratulations but they didn’t gave me a sealed envelope. What does it mean???
July 11, 2017 at 08:32
It means you misunderstood. That envelope will come within a week or two.

Hi Sir SIMOND
My wife is a dv lottery 2018 winner. She played while she was single in October 2016 and we were living together and she was pregnant when she played. Unfortunately for us, she delivered in April 2017 and we lost the baby three hours after delivery. She found out that she has bee selected on may 02 with case number 2018AF60xx. Reading from britsimonsays.Com, I found out that we can legalize our marriage and travel together, which we did on June 02 2017 and filled the ds260 form on June 05 and I was added as her spouse. Now our worries are;
1) do we need another another medical report apart from her hospital follow up book which she has now?
2)apart from the photos have taken ever since we met, can we also print out our whatsapp and Facebook conversations dating from before the results and take them along to the interview when the time comes?
Please we need your advice.
July 11, 2017 at 22:32
1. Everyone needs a medical from the panel physician.
2. Yes – take everything.
July 11, 2017 at 10:38
hi simon,
how to answer (do you have documentation to establish that you have received vaccinations in accordance with U.S. law?)?
I’m not sure if my vaccinations certificate is enough or not (I live in Saudi Arabia)
if i answer (no) i should write explanation!
July 11, 2017 at 22:29
“No”
“will have vaccinations from panel physician”
July 12, 2017 at 00:37
Hi simon
i chiose no too and wrote in the explanation field : (vaccinations were made at public hospital and i do not possess any documentation to proove it)
does it work as an answer or should i reopen my ds260 for modification and state that i intend to have the done from panel physician?
thanks in advance
July 12, 2017 at 06:38
No need to unlock.
July 11, 2017 at 11:50
Hello Mr Britsimon, I would like to know the procedures to be carried out for obtaining the medicare as holder of the green card and to install in the USA for 6 months now.
July 11, 2017 at 22:26
I don’t know.
July 11, 2017 at 13:25
Dear Simon,
I arrived at Washington Dulles airport yesterday, and I gave my new address to the CBP officer, but I just checked my USCIS account and my address has not been updated. What should I do?
July 11, 2017 at 22:25
Relax. It takes time.
July 11, 2017 at 14:48
Hi Simon,
I have a very weird case that I want to share with you and get an idea from you on whether you’ve seen this before or not.
My cousin has won the DV2017, in her application she had herself, her husband, and her two daughters. She went for the interview with her husband, and one of her daughters. The other daughter lives in the US as a student (so when DS 260 was filed, they chose interview at USCIS office).
Anyways, long story short, my cousin was approved and issued an immigrant visa, and so did her husband and her daughter who went for the interview. The immigration counselor advised and recommended that her other daughter must schedule an appointment as soon as possible and that she has to be interviewed at the embassy in person.
They requested an interview for the second daughter and she went last week. However before even talking to the Immigration Counselor, the person who checks the paperwork told her that they have to wait for an immigration visa to be opened up for her and that she should expect an email from the embassy within 2 to 3 days. Surprisingly enough, when we checked the status of the case online via https://ceac.state.gov/, it shows that her second daughter application has been refused (and the update was made same day presumably after she left embassy).
What is strange is that her daughter wasn’t even interviewed, didn’t pay any fees, and no documents were taken.
1. Is this normal?
2. In case of refusal, wouldn’t they give a reason for refusal at least?
3. Could an application be refused before even paying the application fees and interviewing? At least from a processing perspective?
What we did now is emailed embassy to get some information?
I myself called the Kentucky Center but they said they don’t have any visibility nor details.
Thanks a lot
July 11, 2017 at 22:24
1. Yes. The derivatives should have been at the interview.
2. They don’t have to…
3. Yes.
See what the embassy says.
July 11, 2017 at 23:36
Unfortunately the embassy replied with a negative email saying that the derivative (daughter) was not eligible for this kind of visa but with no explanation.
To give you a bit more context, the second daughter was less than 21 when DV application was filed but over 21 when they got selected. By the interview date, she was 22.
1.Would that be the cause for refusal or do you think it might be something else? In their response, they didn’t provide any explanation, they just said she is not eligible.
They also said, when family goes to US, they can apply for her. (obviously they were talking about F2B category.
2.The problem now is that the daughter is on F1 visa, do you think the immigration visa refusal had impacted her F1 visa or they’re separate? i.e does she have to re-apply for F1 now?
3. I am not sure whether the daughter should ask the embassy whether her F1 visa has been impacted or not? Cuz this is already a big mess, immigration visa refusal isn’t a good thing although it wasn’t her fault? any insights/recommendations?
July 12, 2017 at 06:49
1. Her age is the reason. THat was totally predictable.
2. No impact.
3. It’s not a problem. She aged out. Simple as that.
July 15, 2017 at 21:27
Thanks for the reply Simon.
You’re correct the reason was as you mentioned “aging out”.
It is very unfortunate that she had to fly back to attend the interview but then to learn she wasn’t qualified from the beginning. There was a lot of money (flight almost $2,000, doctor visit, fees, etc) & time wasted.
I knew she wasn’t qualified (since i did some research & also asked about it long time back 🙂 ) and told her so but her family were told at the embassy that she is qualified so they wanted to give it a try. Anyways, As you said, this doesn’t seem to affect her other visa and hopefully she will be fine.
One last question if you have some knowledge about it: Do you think her family (parents) as Green Card holders could/should sponsor her once they come to the US as F2B? (I see that the priority dates for that category are very very far in the past)
July 16, 2017 at 10:03
It was foolish for them to try to process her case and pay all that money. Aging out was obvious. They will eventually be able to sponsor her – but with a LONG wait.
July 16, 2017 at 19:03
I wasn’t able to reply to your latest comment (no reply icon). I wanted to thank you for your answers and willingness to offer help for people from all over the world.
Anyways, yeah it was a lot of wasted money & time. In fact, since I knew the daughter aged out (you actually told me this, I researched it online, and called KCC), I told them that they should explain to the immigration counselor that the daughter didn’t show up because she aged out. However the counselor insisted that since the daughter was under 21 when DV application was filed then she should be able to get the visa. I guess there was some confusion there and honestly this aging out rule is very unclear, probably even for people working on it. Anyways, looks like the embassy contacted the NVC to ask for a visa for the daughter and that’s how they learned she wasn’t qualified. Very unfortunate.
Either ways, thank you for your answers. What an amazing blog.
July 17, 2017 at 05:08
I am aware that many CO’S won’t know the rule as well as I do…
July 11, 2017 at 17:13
Good afternoon Simon, I have a question about the interview….During my last visits to the Us in the last 5 years, I once stayed for 9 months, 6 months approved when i entered to Us and 3 months based on a legal extension. I was staying at my brother´s house…..should it be this a problem in the interview?…I mean….it would be strange to answer that i stayed for a long vacation…..but if i say that i was looking for a work visa sponsor and i didn´t find it and i just simply leave the country to avoid being against the law….which answer do you recommend me?
thank you!!
July 11, 2017 at 22:20
The truth.
July 11, 2017 at 19:22
Hi, Can you tell me if there are different meanings of sealed envelopes which are given by the medical examiners? My medical examination results was in a white envelope but that day I noticed some other applicants were holding orange envelopes. I had interview that day, and the CO told me my case would go under AP for a week or more. I do not know why exactly. But I am worried about the results of medical exams as only my envelope was white colour that day.
Thank you
July 11, 2017 at 22:17
There is no meaning to the color.
July 12, 2017 at 15:22
Thank you very much.
i would like to ask you another question. My visa is about to be issued and I will go to USA soon after it. If go usa now and come back as soon as I get my green card and if I marry someone from my place, approximately how long will the process take us in total until my spouse also gets a visa. I don’t know yet about the visa type and process for green card holder’s spouse yet, i will reseach about it. but now i only want to know how long will the required time and process for petition take in TOTAL. i would like to come back aso soon as i get my card to legally marry in order to shorten the required time untill my spouse joins me. Or am I supposed to marry later, after I spend there some years as green card holder?
thank you beforehand
July 12, 2017 at 18:23
It will take around 2 years.
July 11, 2017 at 22:23
Dear Simon,
A couple of questions:
1- the middle names of me and my wife are wrong on the DV visa and obviously will be wrong on the green card when we get it. is that gonna cause us any problems to enter US?
2- we are not really ready to make the big move. can we go for a week then have our friend mail us the green cards when he gets it?
3- we choose Texas for immigration, is there a problem if we make our entry somewhere else?
thanks a lot
July 11, 2017 at 22:34
1. Get that corrected!
2. Yes
3. No
July 11, 2017 at 23:00
Hello Britsimon,
what do you think is the highest case number range in the AF region this year 2018, just want to do the math!!
thank you.

Hi sir
My problem is Iam going to united arab of emarte .. Abu Dhabi

So Iam not type that in my ds-260 I don’t know where type that when completed my
ds and now no time to unlock I already will get 2nl And interview after 27 days
So this will be make problem to me in interview and CO will refuse me
July 12, 2017 at 06:30
You will only know for certain at the interview.
July 12, 2017 at 06:52
Hi again Brit,
Can it be an issue and cause of denial if at the interview we do not present documentation on vaccination compliant with US health standards?
For the story, i misplaced my vaccination report after several moves.
July 12, 2017 at 06:54
No it cannot. You will get that documentation at the medical.
July 12, 2017 at 07:08
Ok Sir, thanks for the flash reply. in my ds 260 i answered to that question No. Do i need to unlock and amend?
July 12, 2017 at 07:10
No
July 12, 2017 at 07:11
Thank you so much my Lord. 🙂
July 12, 2017 at 07:28
In my case I answered yes with the view that I would do all vaccinations during the medicals. Please is there any problem that calls for unlocking?
July 12, 2017 at 07:36
No. AS I make CLEAR in my DS260 guide – this question doesn’t matter!
July 12, 2017 at 12:00
Dear Mr Simon
When they notice me for the interview can i reschedule the interview of my spouce and children at a later time?or i have to change the d260 and say that my family will come later?
Thanks
July 12, 2017 at 12:30
The last interviews will be in September. You should not reschedule, there is no time. Taking the family later will be expensive and very slow.
July 12, 2017 at 19:53
Hi again.Thank u for your answer.
I forgot to mention that i am a DV2018 selectee
I want to pass first the medical exams and the interview because if something happen and i fail i will “lose” only the money of the medical exams and the money of the fee for the interview .Also if I can schedule for my family a later apointment for the interview the children will not loose a school year i think.
Thanks
Antony
July 12, 2017 at 20:25
That is really bad, short sighted logic.
July 13, 2017 at 08:54
You are right
Τhank u for your time.
July 12, 2017 at 12:12
Hi, my lottery number is 37200 and cut off for September visa bulletin is 36500, is this means that I lost my chance this year ? thank you
July 12, 2017 at 12:28
If you are charging to egypt, yes that is sadly what it means.
July 12, 2017 at 13:29
is there any chance that if some people are rejected there will be more calls for other numbers
July 12, 2017 at 18:31
No
July 12, 2017 at 15:11
Hello Brit!!
Again 2018 selectee here.
I was keeping eye on visa bulletin and just saw that the rank cut off number for the month of September has been released. My query is:
Is the visa bulletin for Sep is the last call for DV-2017?
If so then at the same time next month 2NL for 2018 selectee shall be released or not?
July 12, 2017 at 18:26
Yes, the next VB is the beginning of DV2018

Hello Brit
Thank you for all your assistance
My case number is AF51*** for DV2018 very high I know? but my question is I only put my highest university diploma Master degree but that is all I assume that having a master means that you completed high school and all or should I unlock the DS260 to upload everything since high school or it is fine?
Moreover I was deported for overstaying in Europe after my studies is that considered as a custody or crime ?
In regards to plolice reports since I lived in three country from the age of 16 should I provide one for each country even if I do not live there anymore?
Knowing that the reopening of my file will delay the the processing my number is high enough can these info lead to a denial if I am lucky enough to get an interview
Thanks
July 12, 2017 at 18:18
Reopening won’t delay because you have a long time to wait anyway.
Unlock and add all education from age 12 onwards.
The deportation is not usually a crime.
All three countries – read the instructions.

Thank you Simon
I have another one regarding the question about the vaccination if I have the proof should I enter no and then explain that I will do all the required one once advised by the doctor prior to going to the medical examination or can I just ask the doctor now and start all the vaccine prior to the doctor appointment.
Or should I put yes and proceed with the vaccines now so by the time the interview if any comes I would have completed everything
What is your advise
July 12, 2017 at 19:25
Put no or yes – IT doesn’t matter.
July 12, 2017 at 17:09
Dear Simon, thank you for your continued support! As per your advice we unlocked DS260 and add our high school back ground in addition to university history. After we submited the DS260 form, We noticed that there is a one month gap between my education history and my previous living address since the age of 16. For example, started my high school education in September, 2003 in Dabat vs started living in Dabat since October, 2003. Does it matter?
July 12, 2017 at 18:15
No matter.
July 12, 2017 at 17:10
hello! excuse me! is it official web site? or not. Who are you?
July 12, 2017 at 18:15
“Official” meaning government? LOL – NO!
July 12, 2017 at 20:31
Hi, when I was applying to the DV lottery I wrote my name as First middle last however in my passport it is First middle middle last. However, in my DS 260 I wrote it exaclty like the passport. Would this cause an issue.
Thanks

There is still some risk, but generally this would be forgiven IF it is the only such mistake.
July 13, 2017 at 00:04
Hi Simon, I was approved my green card this spring and will move to the states next month. I am traveling before I leave to the states and have to bring my passport where the temporary card is in. I will be super careful (as always) to keep my passport close to me. My questions is: if the unthinkable would happen and I lost my passport, can’t I travel to the states then? Or are they able to solve it anyway?
Best, Mel
July 13, 2017 at 07:14
You would have to talk to the US embassy. It would be a mess. Don’t lose your passport.
July 13, 2017 at 02:05
Dear Britsimon
I am an iranian Lottery 2017 winner currently waiting for my AP proceeding. I am also a Canadian permanent resident.
Following my inquiry for applying for a waiver as Canadian permanent resident, U.S Embassy advised me to transfer the case from Ankara to Montreal Embassy reminding me about risks of such transfer including risk of possible delays.
Considering the short time remained for DVLOTTERY 2017 visa issue which is end of September,
1-Do you think that i should apply for such transfer today?
2-Do you know how long does it takes to transfer lottery cases between two embassies?
Thanks,
July 13, 2017 at 07:12
1. You have already been interviewed. You have no need to transfer your case. So – I don’t understand why you would do that.
2. Varies.
July 13, 2017 at 18:02
My interview was in Ankara Embassy and if i want to apply for a waiver under the E.O i should apply at a consulate inside Canada. applying inside Canada for a waiver is obligatory.
Please advise ?
July 13, 2017 at 22:29
Follow the instructions from the embassy.
July 13, 2017 at 23:27
Thank you for your attention and support.
My last question
Do you think that i don’t need to Transfer the case and i can apply at Ankara Embassy ?
July 14, 2017 at 06:37
What I think is not important.
July 13, 2017 at 06:11
Hi Brit!
We saw this “X-rays – You must hand-carry your X-rays with you, not pack them in your luggage.” on my relative package and got a bit confused, is it in the sealed package or we will have to get it from the hospital again?
Thanks for all your supports you have kept rendering us since our process began!!!
July 13, 2017 at 07:08
They give you the xrays with the package. BUT people are rarely asked for them at the POE.
July 13, 2017 at 06:39
Hello Britsimon again,
Thank you for your previous help with an inquiry I had about my case number for DV 2018 OC15XX.
I have another question – is one allowed to change the venue of the consulate interview?
So, in all probability, we will be in the USA on an H1 (husband is an academic so doesn’t follow the normal H1 visa cap). And, we will likely be in the USA early 2018 on the H1. However, my possibility for an interview will only be in August/September 2018 (IF I am lucky to get interviewed based on my high case number). So, can we request to move the location of the interview to Canada or the UK instead of flying back to Australia for it?
Thanks again,
Osmosis
July 13, 2017 at 07:07
To move the interview to another country you would need to have a good reason to be interviewed there – usually – that you are living there.
July 13, 2017 at 06:51
Dear Brit ,
what is your appinion about how many applicant will be interviewed till now (and will interview till september) or got approved ?
Or maybe you know biggest applicant number who will interview on September.
I am trying to calculate my chance of Visa case which under AP since Februrary .
July 13, 2017 at 07:02
I don’t know the numbers, BUT visa availability is not a problem. If you clear AP, there will be a visa.
July 14, 2017 at 05:47
Thank for your reply. Few days lest my medical exam goes to be exppired (end of July ). Is that mean |I have to renew it or can impact on my visa ?
July 14, 2017 at 06:20
If you clear AP they will ask you to repeat the medical.

1. What does it mean when it says Visa status At NVC
2.Where is the NVC at U.S or In Ethiopia
3.If there is not any change on my Visa Status to whom should i write about my case (I need email) And give me an advice SIMON .
July 18, 2017 at 13:01
I already gave you advice. Stop worrying about this.
July 14, 2017 at 07:43
Dear Tesfay,
I meant proceed to where your interview was conducted, or if you can not reach there easily, contact the embassy and inquire how you may pick up your package. my relative process was in monrovia, after the interview we were given the chip to pick up the VISA seven days later after which time we went and got the package, few days ago we went to check NVC, we still saw that alert.

Hi Brit Simon, thanks for sharing with the world your topics about DV programme! I have a very easy question for you. My case nr is around EU 23400 and, as long as I qualify under all the required points (school, age, criminal records and so on), do you think I will be 100% getting the Green Card or there’s possibly other unknown circumstances that may cause the denial? Basically, as everybody else waiting for an interview, I would like to know if I can be 100% sure to get the Green Card. And, if not, what could cause the denial? Thanks again and kind regards, Fausto
July 13, 2017 at 22:41
Some people fail to follow instructions or don’t meet the requirements. So – I can’t say you have 100% chance.
July 13, 2017 at 09:43
Dear Simon,
I have a comment and a question, I have sent a question to the UStraveldocs.com usually they take questions about required documents for the interview, I wrote “my question, I have the degree with me, but do I need to show the following also:
1- Grades certificate from the University,
2- High School degree
” they replied after almost 2 weeks saying:
Thank you for your email. No, need for the university or high school grades.
Regards,
Immigrant Visa Team, US Embassy ”
Just wanted to clarify this point for others.
Now for an unrelated question regarding translation of documents, does it have to be from a certified translation office? or can I translate it or have someone do so with a disclaimer about Translation is accurate, and, Translator is competent to translate. like they require?
July 13, 2017 at 22:40
This advice is best ignored for most cases. Always take more than you think is needed.
July 13, 2017 at 09:47
Hello Brit, Do KCC officials delay the process of Dv 017 knowingly or unknowingly or due to insufficient manpower what do you think
July 13, 2017 at 22:39
What delay are you talking about.
July 13, 2017 at 10:01
