Hi brit
Today I have registered with wrong email address for dv lottery 2019 , can I apply it again or I have lost the chance for this year
October 19, 2017 at 18:44
You must not enter again. You don’t need to access the email. You just need the confirmation number and possibly to know the email address you used.

Hello Simon,
In 2014 I spent together 7 months in the US as a visitor. Actually it was 4 months than I went back to Europe for two weeks and again back to US for 3 months. If count all my US visits during my whole life it makes together 15 months.
1. Do I need police records from US ?
2 . I already got my 2NL for December interview (EU region). Is it time to obtain police records from my home country now or better wait till end of November to make sure they don’t get old ?
Thank you for your help
October 19, 2017 at 18:42
1. No police certs are needed for USA
2. Now

Hello Sir,
I am filling my DV2019 form and I am a little confused about the adress lines. It requires Adress/ City/ District/ Zip Code.
I changed my official location on my ID lately. I live in a village now. So into the columns I wrote as follows:
Adress Line: name of the village and house number
City/Town: I do not know what to write here. It asks for city or town, we are not any of that, it´s like a village or a place with a name, but it´s not as big as a town or city.
District: I added the District Town, where our “village” belongs for postal purposes.
I am confused about the City/Town option. Do I use the same town as for the district or the name of the location, where I live ?
Thanks
October 19, 2017 at 18:48
This is a postal address. So just enter what you would enter to receive a letter!

Hi Simon,
Me and my husband are wondering whether we should translate the birth certificate for our newborn?
The official document is in Macedonian, should it be in English or we can submit the one we have since we are in a hurry.
Thank you very much! We appreciate your promptness.
October 19, 2017 at 20:22
If you are interviewing at an embassy where the official language is Macedonian, then you don’t need to translate it.

Hi Simon,
I am a citizen from Albania,
I need to be sure about the education criteria of dv lottery,
In the sistem as we know are listed the degree levels, specificly among of them is mentioned “university degree” and right after that is “master degree”. Here in Albania, master degree was applied as a university program( is called Bolognia sistem) in 2006, so before this year it was a sistem of 4 year university program. My questions are: – a person with the “old” univesity program what opsion should choose? University degree or master degree?
Is there, in your conception, any difference beatween this two?
Thank you!
October 19, 2017 at 20:48
Whatever you choose on that option doesn’t matter, so just choose.
October 19, 2017 at 21:08
Hi Simon,
Quick questions:
1. The person sponsoring me is a friend of mine, can I refer to him just as Friend (in the I-134 form, when asked “Relationship to Sponsor”)
2. When translating documents, do I also have to translate my high school diplomas grades, to a US system?
Thanks!
October 19, 2017 at 21:24
1. Yes
2. No

I filled dv 2019 on November 19 n got confirmation number but received this mail to my email”Dear Diversity Visa Program entrant:
Please check http://www.dvlottery.state.gov for an important announcement regarding your Diversity Visa Program entry.
Remember, only internet sites that end with the “.gov” domain suffix are official U.S. government websites. Many other websites (e.g., with the suffixes “.com,” “.org,” or “.net”) provide immigration and visa-related information and services. The Department of State does not endorse, recommend, or sponsor any information or material on these other websites. The Department of State, KCC, or any other U.S. government entity will never ask you to send money via email or request that you reply with personal information. The only fee associated with the DV program will be paid at the time of your interview.
U.S. Department of State”
What it mean?
October 20, 2017 at 13:05
It means click the link and enter again. Your earlier entry will not count as they restarted the whole entry process.
October 20, 2017 at 15:40
Hello brit , i filled dv2019 at october 18 and now i got the same e mail as the Nathy goted so do you think i have to re enter again?
October 20, 2017 at 15:46

Hi Iron,
Can we have catch up,
I am from Erbil
October 20, 2017 at 05:45
Hi Brit, the name on my school’s cert is Essien Mensah Felicity, please how should I enter it on the entry form?
October 20, 2017 at 08:13
Your first name should be Felicity, Mensa Family name and Essien middle name
October 20, 2017 at 13:04
Your name is not decided by the school. It was decided by your parents. You have a legal name. That is normally proven by your birth cert and Passport. ONE of those name is your family name (otherwise known as surname or lastname) – I imagine that is “Essien”. The other names are “given names”. First and middle names. So – you know your name – right?
October 20, 2017 at 06:28
Brit Simon, you are a fount of knowledge. Thank you. I have a question that I couldn’t seem to find in the FAQ. My wife is a lawyer and planning to sit the bar exam in California. I think based on our case number and a successful interview we should be able to make it in time (late feb). In the event our interview was delayed for whatever reason could she enter the US with a green card interview pending under the visa waiver program and sit the exam? Or is that a no no? She would of course leave again to return home for the interview. There is a limited number of dates to sit the exam and if she doesn’t make the one end of Feb, it would mean waiting another 6 months. Looking forward to your reply and thank you again for all your hard work.
October 20, 2017 at 12:59
She can enter under an ESTA. Whether she can sit the bar exam without status, I don’t know.
October 20, 2017 at 07:09

October 20, 2017 at 13:58
Your interview must happen before September 30, 2018. 2019 is not a possibility.
Get documents a few weeks before the interview.

October 20, 2017 at 15:54
Hi Simon,
I understand that primary applicant can travel alone to US to activate LPR status and then return and travel again.Derivative family members can’t go to US before primary applicant, but 1)Do they have to go with primary applicant all together for their first time to US to activate LPR status?
I am the primary applicant and would like to go to US first , then return for my wife and daughter and go back to US with them, but I am also considering not returning back just have them come to US after me once I am settled. I don’t know how safe are those options as I have heard about different annotations in diversity visas such as valid only if acc spouse or charge to spouse’s quota etc and they are a bit confusing.
2) Are regular Diversity visas normally given without annotation so family can travel separately or we need to ask at the interview the CO to issue visa for my spouse and daughter so they can come to US after me ?
Also, there is very recent new requirement in terms of going for a medical which I only found out about yesterday.I am not sure if it’s new global requirement or only in the UK, but when going for a medical now it’s required beside vaccinations records to also have “Summary of medical history” from GP and reports covering any medical conditions and previous serious illness. It is requirement and medical will not go ahead if it is not produced on the day which means possible cancellation charges and delays.
Hope that helps your readers and they can enquire if it is necessary elsewhere.
October 20, 2017 at 16:43
1. No, they can travel after.
2. Derivatives visas are a different category to the principal. So – if the derivatives are not travelling with the principal, they will want to check the principal has entered.
The medical change is not a new requirement. Anyone contacting the doctors in the UK for the medical will be informed about the documentation needed.
October 20, 2017 at 17:16
Thanks for answers ,but regarding to medical this is new as I didn’t see this info before and I received email from doctors yesterday saying:
Summary of medical history from GP (NOT full medical records) and reports covering any medical conditions, disabilities, and prior serious illnesses you have been treated for or anything ongoing. This is a new requirement and may not yet be added to the checklist online or the US EMBASSY LONDON website.
We will keep your medical on hold if you do not have it with you on the day of the appointment.
Ask your GP for a Patient Summary/Care Summary.
October 20, 2017 at 17:31
I first heard this about 1 year ago.
October 20, 2017 at 20:38
Hello,
I live in the UK. I read the above message concerning the Patient Summary Care Records to have handy on the medical appt day. I will contact my GP tomorrow to request one. Based on the searches I made online, it doesn’t seem that a patient can access their SCRs bur rather, health pros.
Can you please kindly tell me how you got yours. Thanks innadvance.
October 21, 2017 at 06:57
Hi,I went to GP, they were buffled as not done this before so I had to explain what it is for and left my information with them. Next day I got a print out with my details, nhs number, name, dob, address, measurements and info about any previous medication and drug allergies as well as details of last 3 visits which was basically when I came for vaccinations. It was only 2 pages print out as I am healthy person and no medical problems whatsoever, but if someone who has some issues gets print out 10 pages or more long, they must inform US medical about it, because if they don’t ,they will be charged for another appointment slot so doctor has time to review info.
There is likely to be charge for that summary as various GP’s charge various fees for it depending how much work is involved.
Good luck
October 21, 2017 at 11:55

October 20, 2017 at 17:31
Dear Britsimon
I will definitely donate after I get to usa but at the moment I have some many expenses. I wrote to my first entry single and no child however I have one child from divorced marriage. I was divorced when I did first entry of DV but I have child and I did not write to my first entry. I wrote my ex wife but I did not write my child to ds 260 form. Now because I did not write my child to ds 260 and I would like to update ds 260 and make it single and I don’t have any child. When us embassy call me for interview, they will see my divorce paper that I have child, that is why I want to update ds 260 for single. Can I do that? I want ds 260 and my first entry to be a same.
Thanks for answer. Did you understand my question?
I wish all the best to you and to your family for your kind job.
Jahon
October 20, 2017 at 18:05
You will be disqualified because you lied in the first entry. You were divorced and had a child. You said single and no child. You should not waste any more time or money on this. Try again for DV-2019, but learn your lesson. Tell the truth.
October 20, 2017 at 18:57
In the first entry is single and ds 260 also is single. I think this is ok. first entry is same and ds also is same.
October 20, 2017 at 22:33
I cannot support your fraud.
October 20, 2017 at 18:49

And i am not get any Comfirmation No.

October 20, 2017 at 22:32
How can I guess? You have to decide whether to submit a new entry or not.
October 20, 2017 at 19:10
Dear Brit,
Earlier I asked this question from you.
( I have question regarding the including of number of children in my DV Lottery application form.I have 2 children and So it asked to mention ”all living unmarried children under 21 years of age”. But both of my children were over 21. But DV Lottery asked to include ”all living natural children”.
So in the section asking about number of children what should I mention? ”0” or ”2” ? )
Then you told me to mention ‘0’.
Now if I win in the DS-260 form there’s a question under family information: Children ( Do you have any children). So how can i answer for that question. (Yes or No)?
Is it okay to ”NO” ?
(Because both of my children were over 21 and also I didn’t mention in my DV Lottery form)
Thanks!!!
October 20, 2017 at 20:10
If you are selected, we can discuss this.
October 20, 2017 at 20:21
Please i just realised that I used the wrong non existing email address to register for my brother ‘s dv lottery. . Please am worried now what are his chances in case he wins
October 20, 2017 at 22:39

October 20, 2017 at 20:45
Hello Brit, I am changing my location in the US before I finally live there, on form DS260 I stated that I will live in charlotte but I will be living in Maryland. Should I send USCIS the new address before I get to US or when I get to Maryland?
October 20, 2017 at 22:38
Change at the arrival airport so that the GC is sent to the correct address.
October 20, 2017 at 21:02
Dear Brit, please I received my affidavit of support from my host this afternoon. I learnt the form dubbed I-134 is supposed to stamped by USCIS. But when I got it there’s no stamp on it. It came accompanied by some form I-1042. Please will that create a problem?
October 20, 2017 at 21:08
And it was also written with hand instead been typed.
October 20, 2017 at 22:37
I have never said the form needs to be stamped, have I?
October 21, 2017 at 01:36
ok. Please will the hand-filled be OK?
October 21, 2017 at 03:56
Yes
October 21, 2017 at 03:53
Hi Simon,
I’m preparing the docs for the Interview.
My Affidavit of Support, has just :
* I-134 Form Signed (Husband)
* I-134 Form Signed (Wife)
* 1040 Tax Form, year 2016 Detailed
* Copy of Passports for each Sponsor
My questions are :
1. Is the W2 Form equivalent
with the 1040 Form?
2. Are enough the above docs, as Financial Evidences? Have I need for others?
3. Should I contact my Sponsor to send me the W2 Form? Is this covered by 1040 Form in my case?
Thanks a lot
Sander
October 21, 2017 at 04:09
1, Similar
2. Get recent payslips
3. 1040 is OK.

October 21, 2017 at 08:52
Hi Brit!
How are you and your family doing?
I appreciate all the sacrifices that you are offering to us in this forum.
I read from this block daily and through it, I have come to understood the dv process.
It has put our plans on a hold ever since my wife was selected on may 02 2017
And that is hard to take considering the fact that selection does not guarantee a visa. With all the uncertainty in the process, a diversity visa is worth the sacrifices.
We legalised our union after the results and I was added as a derivative. A few people who don’t understand the process think that it was wrong for her to add me but they are wrong to think so. We have assembled all the proofs of our relationship before the results and all necessary documents for our interview next month. We are confident that all will go well come next month end. What ever happens, our interview story will be here.
I wish all dv 2018 winners the best.
October 21, 2017 at 12:33
Best of luck.
October 21, 2017 at 13:37
Thanks Britsimon.

October 21, 2017 at 10:48
Hello Brit,
Thank very much in deed for the valuable information you provided, hope you and your family are doing well.

thanks in advance.

Dear Britsimon. As soon as I reach usa, I will donate to your web site. I am selected for DV 2018. I did not fill the ds 260 form. One agency filled and they filled my mistake. I am single but they wrote divorced and they put another wife there. I want to unlock ds 260 and update marital status from divorced to single. is that fine? Hi Brit, i wanna ask a question. In the form I-134 part 3, 38 If my sponsor check the option ‘DO NOT INTEND to make specific contributions..’ would it be a problem for the CO ?

And also wanna ask that my sponsor filled another affidavit of support once throughout marriage for his wife.
Does it cause any problem for the case ??

So do you mean my sponsor is not suitable for my case because of being a sponsor once in the past ?
I’m confused I couldn’t understand which question you said yes or no :))

The last question is some of people say the sponsor must present a copy of his passport beside i-134 form but I haven’t seen such an info. Is that true ?

hello Brigh
I am a DV 2018 winner I was staying with my boyfriend and the two of us play the DV as married couple then I also play as single. But the one two of us play as married couple never won,but the one I play as single won.
My fear is I am 20 years of age and I want to get married to my boyfriend so I can add him on the DS 260 form, because we love one another and we are staying together so I would love to be with him in the US.
My question is will my age not be a problem or will the ,CO at the Embassy not say I am too small to get married ? I really love my boyfriend brit.

Hi Brit
When we should take the photo should we wait until we receive interview date
Or we can take it
Our photo in the entry now above one year
This will cause a difference in the appearance and our face
