Hola,Do they compare old ds160 forms for non immigrant visa with the submitted ds 260 for dv lottery?

Yes that is possible.
November 17, 2017 at 20:21

My son lives with the dad n he took custody of him so wen I tried submitting his ds-260 it refused.is it going to affect my qualification for an interview because it is indicated incomplete unlike mine n my daughter’s?
I submitted my ds-260 form in October 2017 wen do I expect to be scheduled for an interview if I qualify.
Thank you.
November 17, 2017 at 20:56
The DS260 was “refused” because with a male under 26 you musty click the link on the last page of the DS260 to read about selective service. But – if you are not taking that child, there is no need to complete a DS260 for him.
November 17, 2017 at 21:08
Hi Brit, I want to do you a question of analysis. This year it was incorporated to Ecuador in the SA region, and the case números selected it was more than the last year. Why they have called so few cases until january? I wait your answer.

Hi Brit, my appointmeant at embeasy has been scheduled but i got nervous about something. When i looked the first later that starts with ” you have been rondomly selected…” there are case number, foreign state chargeability, my name and post. They are all correct except post. It looks another country’s capital not mine eventhough foreign state chargeability is correct and my country. What is the meaning of ‘post’? Is that can cause a problem during the interview?
November 17, 2017 at 22:37
No problem. Forget it.
November 18, 2017 at 02:43

Possibly.
November 18, 2017 at 13:49
Hi Simon,
I have a problem when I fill DS260. It asks us to provide all addresses we lived before after sixteen. Should I provide my dormitory addresses or any other renting addresses? I mean, they were not my registered addresses on that time. Can I only provide all my addresses that were registered in our country?
November 18, 2017 at 14:22
If the address was for a few weeks only, then no, otherwise – yes, provide it.
November 18, 2017 at 16:33
Thank you, Simon!
But I forgot some addresses I lived before after sixteen. Does it matter?
November 18, 2017 at 17:18
Do the best you can.
November 18, 2017 at 17:57
Thanks again?
November 18, 2017 at 15:43

November 18, 2017 at 18:01
Hello Britsimon, my girlfriend has greencard. She won greencard a few years ago before our acquaintance. But now we decided to marry. And I want to know after marriage can we move to USA on the basis of her greencard ?

I only answer DV lottery questions.
November 18, 2017 at 18:20
Hi Brit!
I am living abroad for more than 1 year because of my work.I have to leave in February next year because my contract will finish.
Can I take a police certificate before I leave and use it in case if I am selected in may?
Thank you!
November 18, 2017 at 23:31
Yes
November 18, 2017 at 19:49
Hi,
My mom won this lottery on May .
I was born in 1995 , last year on act 2016 we filled the forms regardin DV-lottery 2018.
I was 21 y 2m but without any errors from the system my mom could add me to her children.
After she won the lottery my parents submitted the DS-260 form. Yesterday i found out i also have an incomplete form i can submit .
So i did it , and now i want to unlock my parents ds 260 and change the answer to the question “will this child immigrate with you?” To yes .
1- does this cause delay for the interview ?(the case will be current on dec )
2- is there anything wrong that my name is on their application?
3- i live in US, i am a student , while submitting the form the interview location was at USCIS , but my parents interview would be scheduled in ANKARA . How can that happen?
Thank you
November 18, 2017 at 23:31
You will not get a visa as you must be 22 by now.
November 18, 2017 at 19:57
hello, I have question about medical exam, what is happaning when aplicant is pregnant?? will be disqualified?? (because can not make all exam for example x-ray, all vaccinations) what are options in this situaction? thank you
November 18, 2017 at 23:29
The doctor will modify the examination somewhat for a pregnant women. However xrays are still performed – usually with a screen for the baby.
November 19, 2017 at 10:09
not good;( ….so is it possible situation that visa can be granted (without medical exam dokument) but will be issued after delivery of the missing document ?
November 20, 2017 at 01:40
Doctors don’t do anything unsafe to the health of the mother or baby.
November 18, 2017 at 20:10
Hi Mr. Simon,
A question about job seeking:
Would you recommend seeking a job from the current country (out of the US) while still being employed OR moving to the US immediately after receiving the Visa and seeking for a job from within the US, being unemployed?
We have a great chance to leave our country as soon as we get the Visa and we heard that it is hard to find a job from remote, but we don’t want to be rash and do stupid mistakes.
Your advice means a lot to us.
Thanks.
November 18, 2017 at 23:28
Getting a job without being in the USA is hard, too hard. That is why you need a plan to support yourself for a while before you find suitable work. YOu can make things easier by choosing the right place to live, where suitable work is plentiful.
November 18, 2017 at 20:33
Good evening!
I got refused in 2013 number 214b . it wasn’t DV lottery. I applied like manger in the hotel. But now I’m woner dv lottery, I hope in February will be interview. I it will be any problem that I got refused -4-5 year ago?
Many thanks
November 18, 2017 at 23:26
I don’t know.
November 18, 2017 at 21:07
Dear brit. Thank you for your continous suppoert and help. I’d like to ask some questions:
1- what is the Invoice ID number?
2- Do I have to pay anything before or during filling DS-260?
November 18, 2017 at 23:25
1. I don’t know.
2. No
November 18, 2017 at 22:51
Do you think those numbers you predict to BE VERY SAFE, at the first instant,(Dv 2018 selectee numbers published) still stands and looks safe?
November 18, 2017 at 23:18
At the moment, I have no data to warrant changing the numbers. In January I will know more – BUT there are always things that happen to change VB progress (like the travel bans etc), so nothing will be certain until July.
November 19, 2017 at 02:04

LJust wondering if I got an email confirmation for my DS-260 being submitted on May 4th 2017 when should I be hearing from them about a potential interview?

Hello Brit, thanks for your assistance this far. I have some worry:
1) I graduated from High school more than 20 years ago and it might be difficult to obtain my secondary and high school transcript. Since obtaining this transcripts will be difficult, is my Higher National Diploma okay to take for interview?
2) What is the meaning of LPR?
Thanks
November 19, 2017 at 16:29
LPR means lawful permanent residence
November 19, 2017 at 22:42
Thank you radiology
November 20, 2017 at 01:36
1. Difficult isn’t impossible. It is best to prepare properly.
2. Lawful permanent resident
November 19, 2017 at 11:37
Hey Brit,
I have continuing application thru agency unfortunately and have been doing seperate applicatiom thru government for my husband. But this year company has used his info to make application without consent that caused duplicate applications. What can i do?
November 20, 2017 at 01:35
Nothing.
November 20, 2017 at 02:57
Do you think I can file a lawsuit against them. maybe not me but my husband as they have used his info without consent. I have read your post about dv lottery agencies, but I am trying to find a solution 🙁
November 20, 2017 at 15:28
Against who? The agency? You can if you want, but those won’t fix the problem.
November 19, 2017 at 11:41
Hi Simon, I would like to ask if it is technically possible for the selection system to identify the selectee as having had multiple registrations, when actually he has not? The reason I am asking is because several people on your forum and one on the local forum of my country, claim that they have been erroneously identified as multiple entries and for that reason disqualified at the interview. I am particularly worried because my husband and I have the same first and last name with a difference of an “a” at the end (female and male version of the same name in my country, his last name became my last name upon our marriage). Now I am freaking out not only because of the old photos my husband used, but about this issue as well…I don’t understand if these people could be telling the truth. The one at our local forum says that the consular officer told her that the KCC selection system does indeed sometimes have this bug, but there is nothing they could do, because the system gave their names as disqualified. Please share your opinion. Thanks.
November 20, 2017 at 01:34
That is not something you need to worry about, and worrying won’t help anyway.
November 19, 2017 at 12:16
Happy Sunday bro.
I am a Government teacher in here in Cameroon. Meaning that I did 3years in the teachers training college to obtain a diploma.
So i choosed university degree since I did not see Professional diploma.
For me to obtain a University degree, I need to attain additional one year university course.
What do I do now? Unlock and change ?
November 19, 2017 at 17:07
Unlock and correct because the Yaoundé embassy will asked you to present all the educational certificates mentioned in your DS 260 form. Unlock and replace the Degree with DIPES 1.
November 19, 2017 at 17:09
Thanks bro. I appreciate . Will email KCC on Monday with an unlock request.
November 19, 2017 at 19:06
We are together prof.
November 19, 2017 at 21:23
Hello Bez, from Dinho’s explanation I think he would have filled University no degree instead of University degree since he has a Diploma from the University. Also, where the question read, name of degree/ diploma he has to fill Dipes 1. In this case Dinho will have to unlock the DS260 and effect the corrections rightly.
November 20, 2017 at 01:29
Yes unlock and change.
November 19, 2017 at 12:31
hi simon i wanted to unlock my ds260 to corrected an error in the date of studies i sent the kcc refused to unlock me because i’m ready for the interview is what i can corrected the day of services and thank you
November 19, 2017 at 13:38
You can’t unlock it if you interview date is already scheduled
November 19, 2017 at 16:47
But my question is if i can corected the day of interview
November 19, 2017 at 14:20
hey what’s your case number ?
November 19, 2017 at 12:40
Hi Simon,
am a DV 2018 Lottery winner ,
I have a problem in my Sponsor Documents , He filed form I-134 for me , but his tax returns for last year is less than 20K because he worked for only 3 month last year, but this year he is working from the beginning so his income is at 60K till now.
the thing is my interview is next month , and the new tax returns for 2017 is not yet paid until next year , so will this be a reason to reject my visa application at the embassy .
Thanks
November 20, 2017 at 01:28
It is up to you whether to take the risk. I would find a new sponsor.
November 19, 2017 at 12:55
Hello Mr. Brit . I am a winner of DV2018 and i wanted to ask, is there any problem if I want to fill again DV2019? Thank you for your help
November 20, 2017 at 01:28
No problem.
November 19, 2017 at 13:24
Apart from paying Medica bills out of pocket,is there any other consequence if an immegrant less than one year in the USis still to get health insurance?
Than you and may God give you more wisdom as you choose to help people with limited or no DV knowledge
November 20, 2017 at 01:27
It is very unwise to not have health insurance.
November 19, 2017 at 13:59
hi brit
On the DS 260 form the is a place that ask to provide your previous address since you turn sixteen (16) my question is, am I only to provide places I have lived since turning sixteen? or I can also provide places I have lived before turning sixteen?
November 20, 2017 at 01:26
“since” 16.
November 19, 2017 at 14:34
Can I submit my entry for 2019 DV if I’m already a selectee for the DV 2018, will it effect my further processing?
November 20, 2017 at 01:25
Yes you can enter DV2019, no problem.
November 19, 2017 at 16:10
Dear Brit

I advise patience.
November 19, 2017 at 16:56
Hi Brit!
I have been scheduled for an interview in January, but i m also selected for the YALI (Young African Leaders Initiative) Mandela Washington Fellowship. I m from DRC. The YALI MWF is a 6 weeks internship for young african leaders that takes places in the United States, and you have to go back to your country after the fellowship to implement all that you will learn and help to devellop your country.
So, with the green card that can give me a permanent residency in the US and the YALI MWF that suppose that i ll have to go to the US and come back to congo, will these two put together make problem? Should i choose one and leave the other? Or is there a way i can get the two (residency and participation to the YALI MWF)?
Thanks
November 20, 2017 at 01:22
You will have to use your own judgement.
November 20, 2017 at 13:57
Can you please tell me what you think? I have no idea.
November 20, 2017 at 15:06
I don’t know anything about the choice you need to make.
November 19, 2017 at 17:02
Hello Simon,
I just heard from someone who’ve won the DV2017 that they are now requiring $100K in liquid cash as proof that you won’t be public charge, in contrast to what I know that they require $20k in cash, could that actually be true???
I have $20k but and don’t have any one from the US who can support me, should I be worried?
Thanks
November 19, 2017 at 17:31
Household size of 2 persons (married couple)
November 19, 2017 at 17:44
I can’t see such requirement on the official local council website (Jerusalem): https://jru.usconsulate.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/diversity-visa/checklist-diversity-visa-interview/
Do you think they will require I-134 only? because I don’t have any relatives in the US.
Should I be worried?
November 19, 2017 at 19:56
Before visa or after visa and getting to the USA. Who requests it and at what point?
November 19, 2017 at 20:06
The request was made by the CO during the visa interview at the consul as proof that he and his wife aren’t going to live on public charge
November 20, 2017 at 01:09
It is far simpler to provide a suitable I-134.
November 20, 2017 at 01:10
https://britsimonsays.com/all-about-public-charge-affidavit-of-support-i-134/
November 20, 2017 at 01:20
It varies by embassy. I-134 is safer.
November 19, 2017 at 17:23
For some reason, I went back to check if the photo I used on my DV2019 application fits between the two ovals in the photo tool. The size of my head on the photo is little bit larger than the larger oval. Is it a big deal? Can I get disqualified for this technicality?
November 20, 2017 at 01:19
Relax.
November 19, 2017 at 21:04
Hi brit how is today?

Court Order on Presidential Proclamation on Visas (November 13, 2017)
On November 13, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit granted, in part, the government’s motion for an emergency stay of the U.S. District Court for the District of Hawaii’s October 17, preliminary injunction. The preliminary injunction prohibited the U.S. government from enforcing or implementing Sections 2(a), (b), (c), (e), (g), and (h) of Presidential Proclamation 9645, “Enhancing Vetting Capabilities and Processes for Detecting Attempted Entry into the United States by Terrorists or other Public-Safety Threats.” Under the Ninth Circuit’s ruling, the earlier preliminary injunction is stayed, except as to “foreign nationals who have a credible claim of a bona fide relationship with a person or entity in the United States.”
In light of the Ninth Circuit’s ruling, visa applicants who are nationals of Chad, Iran, Libya, Syria, Somalia, and Yemen and do not have a credible claim of a bona fide relationship with a person or entity in the United States are now subject to the applicable visa restrictions under the Presidential Proclamation. Consequently, any applicants who lack such a claim, if found otherwise eligible for a visa, will be denied under the Proclamation, unless they are exempt or qualify for a waiver under the Proclamation.
The court orders did not affect Sections (d) and (f) of the Proclamation, so nationals from North Korea and Venezuela remain subject to the restrictions and limitations listed in the Presidential Proclamation, which went into effect at 12:01 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, with respect to nationals of those countries.
What does this provision mean and how much does it affect Winners in 2018?
Does this mean that the federal court ruling Hawaii has been repealed?
November 20, 2017 at 00:55
It’s a partial repeal of the Hawaii ruling. Now, the ban is in force except for people with a bona fide relationship. It will affect DV winners, it is too early to know the final impact.
November 20, 2017 at 02:54
Is neccesary to have a sponsor person for the interview?

Hi Brit
I want to ask about ds260
I completed ds260 in May, and now i will marry soon, and i want to add my spouse. My ds260 is still open but i want to ask if you know will be some prolongation about my interview cozz i add my spouse now in ds260. ?
November 20, 2017 at 15:27
Don’t worry about delay – just complete the DS260 as a couple.
November 20, 2017 at 03:32
Brit,
I was thinking for convincing my parents to apply for DV2019. If my parents win and move and then sponsor me and my family, this way I would indirectly increased my chances of getting a green card. Well, I can do this with my in-laws too?!
First, is there is an age limit to apply for the DV lottery?
Second, if all my children are over 21 years, will I enter ZERO ‘0’ for the number of children on the DV application?
Third, how long does it take parents to invite their married children who are over 21 years old?
If the USA immigration system is mainly based on family then I can encourage my family to apply so that one of us get their foot in the door and invite the others?
November 20, 2017 at 06:30
Brit,
To cut it short, my questions are reworded below:-
1. Is there an age limit to apply for the DV lottery?
2. If all my children are over 21 years, should I enter ZERO ‘0’ for the “Number of Children” on the DV application?
3. Can parents sponsor their married children who are over 21 years old? If yes, can you sponsor them as soon as I land on US soil? How much time (rough range) is required for my grown up children to receive the green card after I land?
Bahy
November 20, 2017 at 15:18
1. No
2. Correct
3. A LONG LONG time.
November 20, 2017 at 06:18
Dear Simon, I have read some information about DV 2015 selected entrants in the following link https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/diversity-visa/dv-2015-selected-entrants.html But why there are no any updates showing details of selected entrants for DV 2016, 17 and 18.
November 20, 2017 at 15:22
The selectee numbers for those years are shown on the June or July visa bulletin – at the bottom of the normal bulletin.
November 23, 2017 at 10:42
I meant breakdown as per the country as listed in DV 2015 Selected Entrants page in the link https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/diversity-visa/dv-2015-selected-entrants.html I am curios to know the winning probability of United Arab Emirates.
November 23, 2017 at 14:55
Yes I know what you meant – go and look where I told you.

Hi Brit,
I’m already selected for 2018 dv but my CN is relatively risky (AF35xxx), so I would like to know if I can apply again for the 2019 dv? Is there any risk of doing that. Thanks

No risk of doing that.

Hi Mr. Brit
I did my DV visa interview successfully on 6th November 2017 in usa embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and the consular told that they approved the visa and they will send the passports within 7 to 10 days, but until today I have not received anything. I am married to my first degree (cousin). The state I will go in US is Maryland, which allows for the marriage of relatives.
I would like to ask you, is this delay normal, and do I need to communicate with the embassy? Or wait more?
Your sincerely
Mustafa

Hi Brit
Sorry but I did not understand what you mean by (patience. Really)
1. Is this delay normal?
2. Do you advise me to communicate with the embassy?
3. How often does it take to deliver passports after the interview if some one married fro relatives?
4. Is Maryland state allowed relatives marry?
Your sincerely
Mustafa
