April 20, 2018 at 11:03

Hi one quick question follow up i married so my surname change..lets say i get a new passport is it necesaary to get the ds 260 unlock to change the passport number i already fill up the ds 260 with my correct married name when i submit it.
April 20, 2018 at 13:18
It is better to change, but not essential – you can also take old and new passports to the interview.
April 20, 2018 at 14:11
I am not the primary applicant i am just a deriative…
April 20, 2018 at 13:24

April 20, 2018 at 13:59
MId may is the draw. The VB published in June usually has the selectee numbers.
April 20, 2018 at 13:30

April 20, 2018 at 14:21
Hi Brit
As much as I don’t like asking this question. Do you think AF410x0 really has a little chance/window of interview. Moreover while going through the historical visa bulletins I observed a connection or look alike scenerio between dv2016 and dv 2018. What do you think about this.
Regards
Lola
April 20, 2018 at 14:45
hi Brit, I am the Principal Applicant, did my wife must avail her academic documents and work experiences at the time of interview.? ..we filed these documents on the original application and DS-260 too.. but she found it lost from our car. Our interview is next week… Tnx for your restless support
April 20, 2018 at 15:12
Dear Brit
Nuri from Addis Ababa
There is something that troubles me.
Three weeks have passed since i sent the DS-260 form.
should I contact KCC through email?
Thanks
Nuri
April 20, 2018 at 15:47
No – you should wait patiently!
April 20, 2018 at 17:58
Hi Brit,
I have an interview scheduled for June. I live in the UK, originally from Poland. My husband lives in the UK for many years, has a British passport but was born in Iran.
We both have dual nationality (UK+IR and PL+IR).
1. Do you think that we have any chance of background check coming faster than Iranian passports holders only? Does dual nationality gives us any advantage? I’m worried it won’t be completed by end of September.
2. Also, regarding police check from Iran- on the list of documents it states that Iranian police check is ‘available but unreliable’. Does it mean we need to provide it or not?
Thank you.
April 20, 2018 at 18:44
1. It’s hard to be certain. Dual Nationality gives him a chance – whereas he would otherwise be banned under the travel ban. However, there could be a long period of AP for him – and the risk is especially high if he served in the Iranian military. Iran won’t cooperate – so the AP can last months. Not ALL Iranians are put on AP though.
2. It means you should get it.
April 20, 2018 at 19:19
Thank you very much. With our case number I was hoping for interview much earlier than June so we’d have more time for AP but this year is just crazy.
We’ve been to US many times in the past so I just hope it’ll work in our favour.
April 20, 2018 at 19:21
Good luck!
April 20, 2018 at 19:49
Hi brits
I have a my interview is scheduled on 10th may 2018 but i have an issue with my names. I use MBURU HENRY MACHARIA but in my high school certificates i used this names MUTHONI HENERY MACHARIA. But when i was filling my ds260 there is somewhere they have ask if one has used other names and i said yes. And wrote those names. Then i submitted my ds260. And i recieved a interview letter after all. Now my question…is .will that affect my interview because of those names although i had submitted them.
Thank you.

Hi brit.can you see chance for eu28000
April 20, 2018 at 19:53
We have to wait and see.
April 20, 2018 at 20:03
Hi Mr Brit a friend of my went for his interview with his results slip and the CO ask him about his original high school certificate and he said its wit his brother meanwhile the certificate got burnt
After the interview the co kept him on AP for about two months.
He was call via phone to bring the original certificate and he said ok
Now there is no way he can get the original certificate
Can he submit his tertiary documents in support of his high school results slip
April 20, 2018 at 21:32
The COs are not endlessly patient. They have asked for the original certificate and “he said ok”. Now he is going to provide something else – that is already a risk.
April 20, 2018 at 20:35
Hi Simon, all this long process is very exciting for me and my family, we have been living with dreams and hopes for almost a year now. Now that we see the end of the process, our dreams collapse, and hope is hardly left. Probably many families around the world feel that way, and surely my question to you will be another tedious one, but believe me, I need your answer and thank you in advance. Our trick is EU 309 ** are we going to have some chance of even a minimum of 0.01 to reach us?
April 20, 2018 at 21:34
At this time I would say it is unlikely, but no matter what I or anyone else says – you have to wait and see – right?
April 21, 2018 at 05:45
Thank you, Simon, stay a little, we’ll wait, and let God be lucky. Greetings and be healthy!

April 21, 2018 at 06:32
I promised to leave the resource but I have to post my point of view in whole message.
1) What the main cause of negative scenario? It’s a quota 18300. Yes we have a link to the formula.
Let’s try extract the formula? It’s impossible also like to find a figures for it? Also like to be sure you extracted it the right way and use the same figures that KCC used. So here I can ask Simon the 4th time. Is 18300 your inside information? If not! This figure doesn’t exist and we will use average amount of visa issued last years. Let’s see the figures.
1998 – 24,228, 1999 – 25,685, 2003 – 22,321, 2008 – 22,960, 2009 – 24,648, 2010 – 24,745, 2011 – 24,015, 2013 – 23,607, 2014 – 22,703. 2015 – 19095, 2017 – 19914.
As you see there’s no figure close to 18300
2) Let’s imagine there’s some idiots in KCC work. They have stable more than 10year EU respond statistic and decided to select a huge amount in 2018 to stop process in june. Sounds very believable right?
Let’s see how they are going to stop it.
Here’s the information about visa issued per month. You should notice an acceleration in process which is going to meet the density decrease. It definitely leads to VP pace increase.
Oct. — 1,268
Nov. — 1,279
Dec. — 1,320
Jan. — 1,618
Feb. — 2,230
Mar. — 2,331
Apr. — 917 (last update 13 of apr 2018)
Total — 10,963
3) Travel ban and unstable AF behavior make this underselected year the most underissued. As I know KCC must do their best to issue 50r visas and if 18300 quota exists this year ig going to be even more underissued.
Conclusion. That is not inside and not predictions. They are some facts happen now and you should decide what to trust? Elusive 18300 quota or common sense.
p.s. Simon used a letter from a winner as inside about the first 2600 pace. But ignore the same source message where a winner called to KCC got an answer 26к is safe.
April 21, 2018 at 06:39
underselected year means overselected year
April 21, 2018 at 12:26
Your comments do not make any sense. Relax and let go, you are embarrassing yourself.
April 21, 2018 at 14:38
You are welcome to waste your own time, but your points make no sense, and I have explained things OVER and OVER again to you already. I will not waste any more of my time on you.
April 26, 2018 at 17:45
Hello didikoko,
I do not see any EU visas above the 20K during the years you mentioned.vIs that correct? Can you share the link please?
April 21, 2018 at 09:25
Hi Brit,
My wife who is the principal applicant failed in mathematics, science and english in her high school examinations but is currently a first year student in a computer training school here in Ghana.
I want to know if she qualifies under the educational or work experience requirement for principal applicants.
Thank you.
April 21, 2018 at 14:57
It sounds unlikely that she would be qualified.
April 21, 2018 at 15:15
Okay Brits and thanks for your response.
I want to know the subjects that the principal applicants are required to pass?
April 21, 2018 at 15:19
I don’t know the detail for each embassy. But the subjects you mention are core subjects, so she would not have been able to continue to University with those grades = right?
April 21, 2018 at 15:32
Yes Brits.
She is in a computer training school which is not equivalent to a university.
Please what do you advice I do?
Thanks
April 21, 2018 at 17:00
If she is not qualified, it is a waste of money trying to move forward.
April 21, 2018 at 16:04
Mr Brit advices that a rewrite is never a bad idea .. she can register for Novdec but the sad part is the result will be out after September.. or what do u think Mr Brits.
April 21, 2018 at 10:08
Hi Brit. Is the 26…s case numbers risky zone for EU? What is your opinion? It is interesting for me
April 21, 2018 at 14:57
Yes
April 21, 2018 at 13:24
Hi Brit! We got a visa last week. Three days after the medical test reveals that my wife is pregnant. Where shall I report this? to the embassy? at the entry port? or to the physician who did our examination? or…
Also, will it be easy for us to get the medical insurance once in the USA?
Thank you again for your much support to many people.
April 21, 2018 at 14:59
No need to report it. Yes you can get medical insurance.
April 21, 2018 at 13:27
Hi Brit.
I hope you are doing great!

April 21, 2018 at 16:38

April 21, 2018 at 16:59
Wait and see.

Hello Brit, we got the visas for myself, wife and my baby boy. I’m the main applicant and i arrived in the USA two months ago to put things together before my wife and kid join me by end of next week. Visas expire on the 6th of May.
Now I’m already admited in the USA I hope they will be able to join me without any border issues.
They are coming along with thier Visas and Brown envelopes to be delivered at the airport
April 21, 2018 at 17:06
Welcome to the USA! They will be fine.
April 21, 2018 at 17:51
Dear Simon, how are u? I hope you are fine with the grace of God! Now,everything is completed and we plan to fly on May 26. One thing I need to know is that we want to change sponsor address at PoE. The person who is sponsoring us has a job, work permit and physical address just similar with what is required in the DV program. Can we switch the address to him though he has’t god green card yet. What do u think?
April 21, 2018 at 19:55
Yes. There is no proof needed at that point – it is just a physical address for the SSN and GC.
April 21, 2018 at 18:16
Hello SIMON? when do you think case no AF34400 will be current.is there any risk with this number?
April 21, 2018 at 19:55

April 22, 2018 at 11:54
please post your email here so that we could talk me too from Afghanistan
April 22, 2018 at 14:10
[email protected]
April 22, 2018 at 13:10
There is no quota per country – Afghanistan and ALL countries are part of their region – and the region has the quota.
April 22, 2018 at 11:22
Hi Brit!

April 22, 2018 at 14:08
Hi Brit!
I am EDV lottery winner for the year 2018. Currently I am residing in US with F1 status. I paid the Adjustment of status with USICIS fee after I filled out the DS-260 form. My case number is 32XX (Nepal). My case was current in March’s Visa bulleten. I sent all of my documents and USCIS received it March 1. After that I go the first Notice of Action(March 11) telling that they received my case. At the first notice mail I saw my A number too. They send us another mail(march 22) where it had information about the location and date( April 04) of biometrics. I went to Baltimore MD field office for my biometric. According the two letters I received within short period of time, but after my biometrics, till now I haven’t received any interview mail from USCIS. My question is-
1) Will my case collapse if I didnot get any interview notice until september 31, 2018 ?Or
2) If I didnot receive interview mail for longer time that means after septemper 31,2018. Will USCIS still process my case?
I also have my case number from USCIS thet is MSCXXXXXXX number.
If you have any idea about this I would be relieved.
Thank you!
April 22, 2018 at 15:03
1. Yes.
2. No. It must be done by September 30.
April 22, 2018 at 15:59
Thank you Simon.
What do I have to do now? Do you think I will receive interview email with in a month or two.
April 22, 2018 at 16:00
Sorry. I mean mail
April 22, 2018 at 16:01

Hello Sir, please what advice would you give someone who has won US Visa Lottery but has her name spelt wrongly on their letter. “Susana” instead of “Sussana”
April 22, 2018 at 15:02
The DS260 should be completed with the correct name.
April 22, 2018 at 14:55
Hi Brit, my number is 1390 in south america, what do you think?

April 22, 2018 at 15:01

April 22, 2018 at 17:35
Dear Simon,
Can you tell me if any US airport is considered a POE?
My husband and I are planning our activation trip in Denver but I can’t find anywhere the confirmation that Denver Airport is a POE to get the I551 stamp
Thanks a lot.
April 22, 2018 at 18:27
POE is the place from where you enter the territory whether it is by land, air or sea so yes, any airport on US soil is POE, Denver included
April 22, 2018 at 18:55
To be clear – international flights ONLY land at airports with immigration controls.
April 23, 2018 at 07:15
Thanks both for your answer.
Now let’s book those tickets! 🙂

April 22, 2018 at 21:11
Why would you not believe the doctor?
Ask questions in English.
April 22, 2018 at 20:26
Good evening brit and thank you for your help. Offet my cn 23xxx I passed my medical exam on April 18th.Parking background I told the doctor that in 2015 I contracted tuberculosis. And 6 months after the disease was eradicated to the appropriate treatment. During my visit, the doctor mentioned the dates of beginning and end of treatment in a medical form. He told me that I do not have to worry. But I’m not coming. Is that because I had this disease there is 3 years my visa may be refused? I’m having my interview on May 15th and I need some certainty, please.
April 23, 2018 at 08:15
Mr Simon; please allow me to answer this person in French.
Cher(e) Otiis;
Bonne chance!
April 23, 2018 at 13:42
Merci à toi Mr Emmanuel. Merci à tous surtout à toi Mr Brit pour tout votre travail fabuleux
April 22, 2018 at 22:50

Good evening and thank you Mr. Brit. It is true that I really hope you are a little more expansive about it. But do you think that you are just the same as my doctor and that it is no longer worth talking about. thank you for your work
April 23, 2018 at 04:31

Hi Brit ,
Please I want to find out if the principal applicant can do the medicals after the interview or it has to be done before the interview.
Thanks.
April 23, 2018 at 14:10
It is normally done before the interview. Performing the medicals after the interview will cause risk.
April 23, 2018 at 09:11
Hi Simon,
I have a very important question. My wife is an Indian holding an indian passport but has lived all her life in Dubai. We both live in Africa now pass one year. For the police certificate The reciprocity page for UAE says the following:
Court/ Police Certificates
Available only if applicant is physically present in the UAE.
Fees:
Document Name:
Issuing Authority:
Special Seal(s) / Color / Format:
Issuing Authority Personnel Title:
Registration Criteria:
Procedure for Obtaining: Police certificates may be obtained by any person, regardless of nationality, by personally appearing at the Central Police Headquarters located in the emirate of residence or former residence. When appearing to request a police certificate, the applicant should provide recent photographs, a letter from the requesting authority, the date of residence in the emirate, and their passport.
Certified Copies Available:
Alternate Documents:
Exceptions:
Comments: Not available by mail. Post recommends that consular officers waive the general requirement to obtain police certificates unless the applicant lives in the UAE.
now, my question is would this cause any delay on my wife’s case ? She is the beneficiary as i am the main applicant.
I the main applicant also lived in Dubai for about 8 to 10 months for which i require a police report so kindly advice what we should both do in this case as it is not possible because the reciprocity page clearly says it is unavailable unless you are present in the country.
Will appreciate your reply.
Thank you Simon . Cheers
Aqib
April 23, 2018 at 12:45
Hey .. refer this pls..
https://www.dubaipolice.gov.ae/wps/portal/home/services/individualservicescontent/goodconductcertificatecatalog
April 23, 2018 at 17:53
Hi Mekhala,
What about the biometrics?
Kindly let me know.
Aqib
April 23, 2018 at 14:08
“Not available by mail. Post recommends that consular officers waive the general requirement to obtain police certificates unless the applicant lives in the UAE.”
That couldn’t be more clear, could it?
April 23, 2018 at 17:59
Hi Simon,
Do u think not having police certificate would cause delay or AP?
I am more concerned about my wife as she lived all her life in UAE and not having the police certificate is a big concern to me. Do you think this can cause them to put us on AP?
I have my interview in one month.
Will appreciate your reply.
Thank you
Aqib
April 23, 2018 at 18:10
Again. The statement is clear. I don’t know what you don’t understand about it. Print out the reciprocity page and take that to the interview.
April 23, 2018 at 09:31
Hi brit,
Do i need to translate Documents that are not at english or it’s OK to bring documents that are written at the native language of our Country?
I am asking this because some people who have “won” at past years told me that we must translate everything to english.
April 23, 2018 at 14:06
If you read the instructions, that question is answered.
April 23, 2018 at 09:47
Hi Simon, I never asked you this question before but now I am getting a bit more nervous…. do you think EU23500 could be safe? If yes, interview most likely in August or September? I didn’t even consider July at this point in time. Thanks a lot Simon!

At this point there are 3 VBs left. So – wait and see is still the best answer. Do that.

Hello Brit,
I am very glad to see this site and how you have been helping the DV entrants.
My question is regarding DV lottery 2019. I have 3 questions:
1. Will it be conducted as of 2018 or not?
2. Will the results come out as said on 15th may?
3. Will there be any changes in visa requirements and interview procedures if it is taken forward or anything else?
I would be glad to have these queries of mine cleared!
Thank You

Hi Brit
Am a derivative to a dv2018 winner (my spouse). Our case number is AF41x0x. The issue here is that we will be travelling for a conference in another African country in mid-June and am just learning that you are not allowed to travel or use your passport once you are current or scheduled for interview. Please how true is this because have never come across such information before.
Kind regards
Lola

You learned that from an idiot. It’s not true.

Hello Mr. Britsimon! Well, I have a question for you.
I have an appointment tomorrow at the embassy he asked me to do another medical visit because the first is expired. I would like to know is it that they will ask me more questions or-well? Thanks

I don’t know what they will do.
