Hello, Brit.
Lets suppose a female gets US visa and green card via dv lottery. Then she starts to live in US with her family (It’s a family dv lottery).
1.Can she now be able to have her sister who is already married in other country live with her in USA? (with or without the sister’s family?)
2. Will she be able to have her relative (son in law) to come and live with her in USA?
I will be pleased to have my queries cleared.
May 15, 2018 at 16:16
Green Card holders can sponsor immediate relatives, not sisters/or son in laws. After 5 years they can convert to become a citizen. A citizen can sponsor a sibling, but that takes 10+ years.

Thank You . But my data is OK. the system displays the error in the data despite using Ctrl + C Ctrl V …. and rewriting the data manually.
May 15, 2018 at 19:14
When did you enter? After the restart?
May 15, 2018 at 19:16
I tried this tip and is working very fine:
Click on “forget confirmation number”
then enter your details as asked; the system will provide everything for you will only have to enter the captcha and hit the submit button! woaouw! You are or not selected!
May 15, 2018 at 19:17
Yes 20 October 2017 I sent the application. I got the information that they had to print or save, I made CTRL C + CTRL V. he enters this data and further error.
I guess there should be information that I have not been chosen?
May 15, 2018 at 19:19
If you really believe you have followed my tips – send me the pdf/jpg and I will check for you. britsimon3 at gmail.
May 15, 2018 at 19:34
The photo you have sent me shows your entry was on October 8 – so there is no point either you or I checking that entry!
So again – Did you re-enter after the 18th?

Hi Brit ,something funny is happening I registered about 360 people and none of them won in the previous years I think 2015 i registered only 40 people and about 7 of them won the lottery any selected person in 2019 ,Kindly share with us
May 16, 2018 at 01:49
Please make sure your point is clear. Use punctuation. I am expecting the chances of selection to be higher this year than most. Does that answer your question.
May 16, 2018 at 02:25
Question: Is there a way to find out how long it would take to book a medical? And how long after the 2NL should we book a medical.? Thank you.
May 16, 2018 at 02:29
When you get the 2NL, you book the medical. The physician can tell you waiting times etc.

Having parents who applied for asylum is not a reason to deny you.
May 16, 2018 at 04:49
Does anyone else have the sams proplme?
May 16, 2018 at 06:04
Hi! Thanks so much for your blog, it is incredibly helpful.
I am currently on an E3 visa (non-immigrant non dual intent). I was selected for the GC lottery today in the low numbers (based off previous years calculations I should become current in Nov or Dec at the latest). I’m trying to decide between going down the AoS or CP route. Please let me know if my understanding is correct.
If I do AoS and get rejected for whatever reason, I will then have violated my E3 non dual intent status and have my visa revoked. (Could I get rejected on the very fact that my visa is not dual intent?)
If I do CP and get rejected, that doesn’t necessarily destroy my E3 status (but it could).
I’d prefer to go the quickest route possible which sounds like the CP (I’m okay with flying back to Australia). Am I able to opt for the CP route, schedule the interview and then fly back to Australia a few days before the interview? I read that you should receive your passport back in about a week or so after the interview. Does this mean I can essentially just spend one week in Australia and head straight back to the US?
With AoS am I able to continue working all the way up to my interview? Then how long after the interview will I be able to start working again (given I have submitted the form you outlined in your blog).
Pretty much I’m trying to determine which option allows me to take the least time off work and gives me the greatest chance of success given my non dual intent E3 status.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
May 16, 2018 at 13:46
You have a lot of time to decide. The expert in DV AOS is “Sm1smom”. What I suggest is that you check out the spreadsheet she has compiled which gives an understanding of the AOS process. Of the two methods, both have pros and cons. I did AOS.

Hi Brit!
Here’s my story.
We successfully passed our interview in Moscow at 24.04 (me, my husband and our daughter).
But later that day we found a letter from the consulate asking additional information about main applicant:
1) travel history over the last 10 to 15 years
2) the names of any siblings/children/spouses not recorded in ds-260
3) addressees during the last 10 to 15 years
4) prior passport numbers
5) occupations and employers looking back 10 to 15 years.
We immediately forwarded all required information, but since 3 weeks we still have administrative processing status…
It’s the first marriage for both of us, we don’t have any other children, 15 years ago my husband was 13…
So we don’t know what does it mean.
Maybe you know something about such situations or can advise something?
May 16, 2018 at 13:52
This is the new security form implement last year – DS-5535. You just have to be patient.
May 16, 2018 at 06:54
DV2019 my case numeber is 24xxx how much % to get visa
May 16, 2018 at 08:12
You need to tell him which continent! AF? EU?
May 16, 2018 at 13:57
Your number is useless without the year and region.
As for percentage – you are about to read some wise words.
Wait and see. We will know more later.
May 16, 2018 at 07:08
Dear Sir, Thanks again and again for your continuing support. I have a question.
I am applying with employment qualification. Im working as an Assistant Editor of a Reputed news paper in our country. ANd have been working as a Sub-Editor and a Senior Features Editor previously – from 2013. In your blog I found that I must submit my appointment letter, Pay slips etc at the interview. Yesterday, I contacted US embassy and in inquired about required documents. The embassy sent me a list of documents needed and in that it, they ask only a letter from the Employee. Is it wise to forward only a letter from my Employee? O shall I submit my appointment letter and pay slips etc.? Thanks in advance
May 16, 2018 at 13:58
Take more than you think is needed.
May 17, 2018 at 07:21
Thank you. OK I will prepare with documents and proofs as you have described in this blog. Shall I send you a list to your email per your observation and recommendation, Sir?
May 17, 2018 at 13:54
No.

Hello Brit..i’ll begin by thankx creatx dis blog bc i’ve learnt a lot frm it.thanks for ur time too may God continue to bless u n ur family.pls I wish to knw hw long it takes b4 one can be given a Green card
May 16, 2018 at 14:01
Are you sure you learned a lot? That is a basic question.
No DV2019 interviews will happen until October – and interviews will continue until September 30 2019. Cases are ordered based on case number.
May 16, 2018 at 21:05
Yes have learnt a lot.my question is abt the Green card
May 16, 2018 at 07:32
Hi Brit, in two of the most popular Bulgarian forums for green card information – no one has report that is selected. Same is in the social networks. What do you think about the extremely low percent of winners this year. I know that the statistic is not yet published but didn’t you find for a strange this low percent happy blog/forum winners ?
May 16, 2018 at 14:01
It is FAR too early to make those sort of assumptions.
May 16, 2018 at 08:44
Hi brit,my green card confirmation paper it reads I check from may 15th and September 30th 2019 do I have to keep rechecking or wait until September to know whether I have won or not? Thanks will appreciate your feedback.

May 16, 2018 at 10:06
to xarthisius why ceac data not downloading
May 16, 2018 at 14:17
I made a slight modification to the way csv files are served because I was running out of space. Make sure you left-click on a link, instead of trying to right-click and “save as”. If that still doesn’t work, use the link for the “current” csv data at the top of the page.
May 16, 2018 at 15:30
Thanks it work by doing right click and save as
May 16, 2018 at 14:19
It is now.
May 16, 2018 at 10:50
In case you are selected and you don’t wanna go anymore, can you give to someone else?
May 16, 2018 at 14:22
No.
May 16, 2018 at 10:58
Hi Brit,
Based on your previous answer only 2 visa bulletin announcement is left for this year.
at https://travel.state.gov website I can see that visa bulletins are released for 9 months only: including October 2017 to Jun 2018. For previous physical years 12 visa bulletins were opened.
If only two visa bulletins are left for this year does it mean that visa bulletins will not be released for September interviews?
Thanks in advance!
May 16, 2018 at 14:23
There are 12 bulletins every year. The September interviews are in the August VB (which is available in July).
May 16, 2018 at 19:19
Does it mean that in July both September and August VBs will be released?
If yes, are chances high that in July more VBs will be released vs average 2000 monthly progress till now?
Thanks again for your support and dedication!
May 16, 2018 at 19:54
No. The VB just published concerns July interviews. Then a VB will be publish in June (August interviews) and finally July (September interviews).
