I lived in a country in 3 different cities, do I have to search the criminal record of each city where I lived?
June 22, 2018 at 15:21
Read the instructions for the country concerned. Follow the instructions.

Questions: 1Does KCC check selected police records prior to schedule the interview?2)any effects on that?3) does a debit due to the court judgment because of the late payment of electricity bills will affect the selected to be scheduled the interview?
Because here it remains debits recorded three months after solving payment then it be erased from the court system.
Thanks for your comments and approaches .

Hi Brit- my interview was 2 weeks back and I was told I would be approved on receipt of my medical. My medical was couriered today (London) to the consulate. How long do you reckon it could take to get issued and would I need to contact the consulate? Cheers – I’m getting so excited- it’s been a rollercoaster
June 22, 2018 at 21:42
Hopefully they will look at the medical and approved by the end of the month – but – wait and see.
June 25, 2018 at 10:38
Hello Tony, if you don’t mind me asking, why was your medical delayed for the interview. Is there a delay/backlog with the medial practice in London ? Thanks
June 23, 2018 at 00:06

Hi!
Thanks for your time!
I have been scheduled for July interview but I just realized that I missed to add my addresses after age 16 and I added only one address. I have police certificates from all twonships I have lived over age 16.
Is that okay to make correction in my interview or my case may be denied?
Best Regards,
Chitthal
June 23, 2018 at 03:31
Make the correction in the interview.
June 23, 2018 at 04:40
Thank you very much!
June 23, 2018 at 03:45
Hello Sir,
Hope you are doing fine,
In some of my documents, there is no surname written, will it affect my case?
For Example:
Initial dv lottery, DS-260 & Passport is written : Nazifullah Azimi
National ID Card: Nazifullah
12th class Diploma: Nazifullah
My Case will be scheduled on August when I called KCC, I have time to bring amendments, should I bring changes to (National ID Card & Diploma)
Thank you
June 23, 2018 at 05:23
You know more about local procedures that I do. If that is normal – it wont be a problem
June 23, 2018 at 12:56
Hi Nazif, are you from Afghanistan. If yes please let me know where to do the medical and if you did that and how long it takes to get the result. Thanks
June 23, 2018 at 15:07
Ask the physician.

June 23, 2018 at 14:46
1. Nothing.
3. They will probably keep documents apart from the passport. That is why you take copies of important documents to the interview.
June 23, 2018 at 09:15
Hi
During the adding process I made a mistake my spouse names and I want to change it how can I get this done?
June 23, 2018 at 15:01

June 23, 2018 at 19:02
If she doesn’t add you to the DV case, it would take around 2 years to sponsor you later. Better idea is to add you to the DV case.
June 23, 2018 at 16:03

June 23, 2018 at 17:59
Hi!
For those wondering how long it takes to receive the social security cards and green cards; for us it was:
– 1 week after the entry for the social security package
– 4 weeks after the entry for the green cards
We arrived at the Port Of Entry on May, 28th and already got everything, that was quick!
June 24, 2018 at 00:54
Hi Mari, thanks for your info. I was in fact wondering as we will not have much time for initial entry. Did you apply for SSN just by ticking yes on DS260 form or again after entry? Thanks, Red
June 24, 2018 at 17:33
Hi!
Yes, we applied for the SSN on the DS260 and it worked perfectly, we had nothing else to do.
June 23, 2018 at 19:55

June 24, 2018 at 01:49
Hello,
Should we want to provide bank statements for dv lottery cases? Because I have interview in August (family)
June 24, 2018 at 02:59
Hello,
I got I134 from my friend in us and his income is less than what is expected in poverty guidelines income (with sponsor’s family and our family altogether 10 members) So can I take another affidavit of support from another person, to overcome this problem and Taking both i134 for the interview or Can I provide my assets to with one i134 to prove I have enough money to live in usa. (Family case)
June 24, 2018 at 06:09
A I-134 that doesn’t meet the required income is useless.
June 24, 2018 at 13:02
1)Can I use 2 i134 for our family from 2 friends in us
2)or with 1 i134 +my assets
June 24, 2018 at 14:00
Didn’t we do all this already???
To make the point again. The I-134 MUST meet the income requirement. If it does, that is all they need.
June 24, 2018 at 10:17

June 24, 2018 at 11:46
Hi simon, when should I fill the i134 form?thanks.
June 24, 2018 at 14:06
Never. YOUR SPONSOR fills it in, and gives it to you in time for the interview (so shortly before the interview).
June 24, 2018 at 12:48
Hi Simon.I am doing the baccalaureate this month of June to get my high school degree but during registration for the DV 2019 I had checked high school degree despite this month I’m doing my exam. Checked High school degree at registration before I do my baccalaureate can I prevent me from having the visa
June 24, 2018 at 14:03
No
June 24, 2018 at 13:03
Hi Simon
Would you know whether dv2020 is still on?
June 24, 2018 at 13:58
It’s on, unless a law is passed to stop it – which looks less likely now.
June 24, 2018 at 14:19
Hello Simon ,
My son was American citizen ! I didn’t list him in my initial entery ! I remember I read somewhere that I don’t have to ! So I put zero ! Now I’m preparing my applications and I’m filling my ds260 I’m nervous that I did a huge mistake!
June 24, 2018 at 14:27
Oh!!!!
No Problem!!!!!!
Have a nice day!!!!!!
June 24, 2018 at 14:27
If she doesn’t add you to the DV case, it would take around 2 years to sponsor you later. Better idea is to add you to the DV case.
Ans: She will add me to the case as husband but due to money issues she will go alone as a married woman. so with that how long will it take me to join her? thank you
June 24, 2018 at 14:35
The DV process only gives you 6 months to enter. That will cost you interview fees etc. So – if you mean you would not be going within that 6 months, you should NOT be on the DV case and it will then take at least 2 years (and a lot more complexity/money) to be sponsored later.
DV is cheap and easy. Other methods are not cheap and not easy.
June 24, 2018 at 14:48
Thank you for you quick reply, that means is she gets the visa and travel to america i have 6 months to go through the dv process.
1. can i join her if she travel to the states within the 6 month validity duration?
June 24, 2018 at 17:00
Please listen carefully.
For you tgo through the DV process, you would have to attend the interview with her. Not later. At the same time she does her interview.
Then if approved you would both get your visas. She could travel before you – but your visas expire 6 months after the medical. No extensions.
June 24, 2018 at 15:47
Do you know when the results selected in 2019 should be released? Maybe in the next visa bulletin or earlier?
June 24, 2018 at 17:02
I don’t know.
June 24, 2018 at 16:23
Hi Brit,
My wife is a DV lottery 2019 winner. However, I won’t finish my military service until next July. My questions are:
1. Will my military status have an impact on my wife’s and child’s applications?
2. Can I delay my interview or submit the document (honorable discharge certificate) later?
3. If one derivative is disqualified to get a Green Card for any reason, will he/she be a drag on the principal’s or other derivative’s application? (let’s say I am unable to submit the discharge certificate in time. Or would you suggest my wife to apply for DV visa without me and sponsor me to go to USA later once I am honorably discharged?)
Thank you!
June 24, 2018 at 17:04
1. No
2. You should ALL delay until July, in my opinion (do that by delaying the DS260)
3. No drag
June 24, 2018 at 16:43
Brit, do you know what is the procedure if a couple receives their immigrant visa based on DV lottery in lets say February, so they have till august to enter US, but the wife gives birth in May or June… how do they obtain the same visa for their baby? Thanks.
June 24, 2018 at 17:05
The process is handled at the arrival airport. The only thing you might need is a travel authorization for the baby from the embassy, because some airlines don’t understand that the baby won’t need a visa to travel that first trip.
June 24, 2018 at 17:17
Thanks. If the wife decides to travel earlier and give birth in the US, do you know if she can do that with no health insurance if she is not working? Or can health insurance be bought upon arrival without employment? Or is there some provision by the US government for women who do not have insurance and give birth at a US hospital?
June 24, 2018 at 18:06
One of the main points about Obamacare was that (still is) that insurance companies cannot refuse to cover, or charge more, for pre-existing conditions. So – if you have the baby here, you will get Obamacare and it’s covered. Get a “good” plan with low deductibles.
June 24, 2018 at 17:15
One year ago we tried for visit visa but rejected and we are selected for edv 2018.there are some changes in our ds 260 and ds 160.i mean some dates of our documents are not accurate in ds 160 and ds260.do the embassy compare our ds 160 of one year ago and ds 260 of our edv? Any suggestions !
June 24, 2018 at 18:04
Yes they could compare. If you consistently tell the truth, these things don’t happen.

Hi Brit,
My case number is AF379** ..i have not received my 2nl, so i wanted to know probably which month should i expect it considering we are current? Thanks
June 25, 2018 at 16:11
All remaining AF numbers are current – so KCC are scheduling as many interviews as possible this month, and in July (for September interviews). It remains to be seen whether they can schedule all cases or not.
June 25, 2018 at 10:36

June 25, 2018 at 13:20
Hello Simon
2019EU21***, Paris, France
I am completing my DS 260 and I have some questions :
1. Previous US Travel
I ask “yes” at the question because I was in the US with a J1 visa 3 years ago.
My question is : What is an Alien Registration Number ?
2. Previous Employment
A month ago, I asked you about the filing of my work experiences and education.
(For the record : I meet the education requirement (High school diploma + bachelor in law + master degree in law).
Currently, I am a trainee lawyer so still a student but I had had some internships and student jobs since I am 18′).
You advice me to add all my work experiences as current as possible. And that is what I am doing right now.
My question is : Some of my student jobs were just short missions (3 weeks to 1 month or every week-end), do I have to add it all ?
Thank you in advance
Alexia
June 25, 2018 at 14:33
1. You probably don’t have one.
2. No need to list small periods of time.
June 25, 2018 at 14:06
Dear Simon, all the documents to be shown at the interview (medical, police cert, school degree, and so on) have to be done just for the selectee or also for the derivative? Many thanks and kind regards, Fausto
June 25, 2018 at 14:15
Mr brit,Goodevening.I met all the requirement at the interview on the 13 Nov 2017 but the CO who was so nice asked me to get a police clearance from a country is taxed for more than a month.I went through stress and spent much to get it and since then my case has been showing AP.just last month I was called and gain from the embassy to get and a new medicals and I dI’d and even now my passport is less than 6 months.please Mr brit can these extra documents demanded from me which i have submitred all be a problem for me after all the stress have gone through to meet the requirements.Thank you Mr Brit for your time and advice.
June 25, 2018 at 14:36
Sorry for interfering but the police certificate would be for countries that you have stayed more than a month or more than a year?
Regards
June 25, 2018 at 16:57
Normally a year – BUT they can demand a police cert any time.
June 25, 2018 at 14:48
Hi brit.
I have may be a problem and I need your suggestion.
I won dv18 and get disqualified since last November.
And I win dv19 too.
This problem is all my documents have been changed on the birthday,10/01/1991 to 10/01/1990 do you see.
The embassy has already all my documents with 1991. And my new documents have 1990.
Is it possible to get Visa with this???
June 25, 2018 at 16:34
Well an obvious question is why were you disqualified?
Why have your documents been changed?
June 25, 2018 at 16:01
hi brit my case number is EU253** and my case status is AT NVC. what can i do?
June 25, 2018 at 16:28
Nothing. Just wait and hope you become current next VB.
June 25, 2018 at 16:02
Hi Bro. Brit!!!
I hope you doing great!!!!!!
My question is
1.does rescheduling interview date has limitations? (to make clear for instance if you Have ten days remain from that date for interview, is there any probablity to get additional time if u apply)
2. Can you make medical check up other country which is the same as the US embassy implies to make medical check up ( the same branch but in other country )
Than in in advance!!!!
June 25, 2018 at 16:28
1. If they can reschedule they will, but there is a risk that you lose your reserved visa – so rescheduling is a LAST RESORT.
2. No
June 25, 2018 at 16:32
Hello Brit,
I have been arrested here in the US because I didn’t pay the fare for the metro in NYC back in 2016 and I went to court for that. I did one day of community service and the judge told me that all charges will be cleared from my record by the end of the year.
In the I-485 there is this question below and I don’t know whether I should say YES or NO
1) Have you ever been ordered punished by a judge or had conditions imposed on you that restrained your liberty( such as a prison sentence, suspended sentence, house arrest, parole, alternative sentencing, drug or alcohol treatment, rehabilitative programs or classes, probation, or community service) ?
PS: In the same form I answered YES for the previous question where it is asked whether I have ever been arrested .
Thanks
June 25, 2018 at 17:00
You did community service – which is specifically listed. So the answer is obvious.
You will need to take details to the interview of the arrest and conviction. It’s trivial so it won’t cause a disqualification *IF* you are 100% honest about it and provide the documentation.
