Mr simon
Someone in Egypt his visa is refused because no meeting the education or work requirement
Q1: why he refused and he got Diploma of Industrial Education?
Q2: my mother wrote in ds-260 any acceptable job and write in application he got vacctional school (3 years diploma of industrial)
She may refuse because this reason ?
August 6, 2018 at 17:01
1. That education sounds “vocational” – that would be why.
2. Vocational education does not help meet the education requirement.

Hi Simon..
my interview was yesterday and there’s a mistake in birth certificate of my son and I correct it today and send to the embassy today by DHL…How long it take to send us our passports(we are family).
August 6, 2018 at 17:14
I don’t know.
August 7, 2018 at 04:15
Dear Brit, thank you for the great job u do for DV society, I am 2018 winner from AS and I along with spauses done with medicals which was on 14 August and interview 5th June , the CEO took our passports and civil document and said your case needs administrative process which may take several weaks and gave me a yellow card, currently status of my case is AP since the FY is getting closer I am worried about expiry of our medicals and losing the chance. what does you’re experience says? is it normal? Is the chances of getting visa declined since it took more than 60 days?
August 7, 2018 at 04:18
I can’t guess the outcome. You just have to wait and see.
August 6, 2018 at 12:19
Hello Brit.My wife was selected for the Dv2019 and we have a 2 year old girl. We played we were in the Congo and for 6 months we are in Zambia looking for work. We are all doctors and my wife since the end of her studies never worked.and here are my concerns about Ds260: 1. What should I write on the question: “Primary occupation? Because I have no employer. 2.How to answer the question Education because we have a high school state diploma, a medical degree undergraduate and a graduate degree that completed our medical training at the university. 3.on the identity of my daughter when registering for the Dv we added a nickname in addition to the name she has. the nickname is the name of his namesake.but on his official documents there is only his name, Postnom and first name. what to do? thank you very much
August 6, 2018 at 17:17
1. Doctor
2. Complete all your education down to age 12 or so.
3. The DS260 should have her correct legal name.
August 6, 2018 at 17:40
Thank you very much for your availability so fast. but you have not cleared me on point 2: if I write Doctor and what to write about the employer and the addresses while for the moment I do not work yet because in the wait
August 6, 2018 at 17:51
Just use your own judgement.
August 6, 2018 at 13:27
I am a Sudanese citizen and my number is 2019AF35000 and I live in Egypt
I consider the exception to Egypt 21000 because I chose to meet with me at the US Embassy in Egypt
Will I meet or open the DS 260 file and adjust the interview?
August 6, 2018 at 17:22
Your number will be scheduled based on AF region, not Egypt.
August 6, 2018 at 14:44
Hi Sir,
Thank you for everything. You did great job for me many times. I had the interview and visa approved. Big big relief. By the way I have few question more.
1, My address changed and I told it to the US embassy here and they give me a link to go and change it. when I check it it is for the document Delivery Registration. My question is whether I can change my address at the time of arrival in the US. or is there any other way?
2, I need to come back within one week after going there because of my Study. Can I come again within one week with return visa. is it possible or how long will it take to come back from us. (as you suggest)
August 6, 2018 at 17:43
1. Change the address at the POE (arrival airport).
2. No problem. Read the FAQ entry about that for the detail.
August 6, 2018 at 15:04
Dear Brits
Me and my family had been to interview on 8th April 2018 at Riyadh US embassy for family immigration visa, they checked all our documents including DS260 form which was approved and closed by NVC 2 years earlier prior to our interview date, however the officer requested me to submit the Original birth certificate of my Brother(Petitioner a US Citizen since 25 years)
We could get the original Birth certificate and submitted to embassy it is almost 2 months now (Upon our request for the status we got answers like your application is in administrative process) last week i got call from an officer stating iam from US embassy Riyadh “Your DS260 form is open some how and you need to close it and then take a oath)
I did that now remaining is taking oath,my question is can the local embassy open the DS260 form already closed and accepeted by NVC and how long it may take for them after oath approve our application and to issue our visas
August 6, 2018 at 17:47
I only answer DV lottery questions.
August 6, 2018 at 17:02
Hi Brit,
During my visa interview I have gave the lady in the window during the collecting of supporting documents new address which is different than the one I mentioned in DS260.
She wrote it in the computer (I think) and I completed the process of the interview normally ( will post soon my experience details there)..
My questions:
1- Is there anyway to check that my address has been successfully changed?
2- The address I used is my cousin’s one and just used it to receive my GC and SSN. Which is in Florida. And I am planning to go to Vermont. Shall I tell these details to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection at airport?
3- If the U.S border asked me where are you going ? Or what address? Shall I say Vermont or my cousin address (GC address)?
I want to be safe and honest to not get any misunderstanding by them!
August 6, 2018 at 17:58
1. Check yourr DS260
2. The address doesn’t matter as long as you can safely receive mail there.
3. The truth.
August 6, 2018 at 18:39
I just checked the DS260 but still the old address in there!
Any alternative way to check?
August 6, 2018 at 18:44
Not that I know of. Check and change it at the POE (arrival airport).
August 6, 2018 at 19:47
Thank you!
Will the SSN to be sent to the given address without apply for it?(Like the GC)
Or I have to go to SSN center and apply for it once I arrived to USA?
August 6, 2018 at 20:17
It depends what option you selected in the DS260.
August 6, 2018 at 20:40
In regards to SSN I have chosen YES in the last two questions in SSN section in DS260.
So? Will they send it to the given address or I have to Apply for it my self?
August 6, 2018 at 17:45
Good day
My wife dv winner interview will be in September buto my wife not working there’s any problems for this
August 6, 2018 at 17:50
No
August 6, 2018 at 18:01
Hi Brit!
My Number is 2019AF13XXX.
I have a question, I have a name in my birth certificate which does not appear in any of my other documents apart from my passport. The name I entered the lottery with does not include that name. How can it affect my interview and subsequent procedures?
August 6, 2018 at 18:14
The DS260 should have your full legal name, and there is a section for other names used on the DS260 – so use that.
August 6, 2018 at 20:18
Thank you for your quick response, I appreciate.
According to the DS – 260, which document holds the full legal name? The Birth Certificate or The National Identity Card?
This is because My birth certificate is the one containing the name that doesn’t appear anywhere else including the ones I used to enter the lottery.
August 6, 2018 at 20:21
I don’t know. I don’t live where you live.
August 6, 2018 at 20:30
I live in Nairobi, Kenya. Sorry for not mentioning that earlier.
August 6, 2018 at 20:40
My point is – I don’t know about your local procedures.
August 6, 2018 at 22:25
Hey .At the interview you’ll be asked for your birth cert ,KCSE cert and your Good conduct from CID. They won’t ask for your ID. So as Simon Says just indicate in your Ds260 if you’ve used any other names and btw swear an affidavit to be on the safe side. You’ll be charged around 2k by any legit lawyer in CBD
August 7, 2018 at 07:38
Hey!
Thanks alot! I already indicated so on the DS260 plus i have sworn the affidavit.
August 7, 2018 at 07:21
Birth Certificate is the primary document.
August 7, 2018 at 07:28
Just make sure the names in your birth Cert match with names on your passport.
August 7, 2018 at 07:40
Yes they do match.
August 7, 2018 at 07:53
Then the same details should be showing in your DS-260. if not you can amend your DS-260.
August 7, 2018 at 15:44
the best thing to do is to apply for a document correction, if your names on your ID card don’t match names on your birth certificate, Go and correct your birth certificate from your county of birth, so that the names on your ID card match the names on your birth certificate. its easier that way.
Am assuming you used your ID card names to apply for lottery
August 6, 2018 at 18:11
Hi Sir,
After I got visa two months ago, I entered USA through JFK airport and I gave the sealed files which we received with our passports from embassy. But still I have medical reports.my question is
I do not know I gave to whom?
My second is how to prove I am legal to apply for job?
Regard
August 6, 2018 at 18:15
1. Don’t worry about it.
2. Your endorsed visa in your passport shows your status as a LPR.
August 6, 2018 at 18:26
Thanks a lot Brit,
Your support much appreciated
August 6, 2018 at 18:44
I was not given a reason he just told me we shall contact you photocopied my documents and put them in the file and gave me back my originals. I think this is the end of it since the fiscal year is ending very soon might never be contacted
August 6, 2018 at 18:44
Hi sir
Can you please tell my the validity period of documents required in the interview.
Thanks
August 6, 2018 at 18:50
There is generally no specific validity period for documents – unless your country has some rules. Police reports and medicals, however should be recent (i.e. obtained just before the interview).
August 6, 2018 at 18:51
Hi Brit, I’m af52xxx. 2018. As said on ur recent post that some cases above 39500 is scheduled and issued does it means that I can expect my 2NLs in some days ahead looking at your BLOCK or TV here’s no chance. Pls need some clarification about my doubts.
August 6, 2018 at 18:53
If you were not scheduled for interview in August, there is no chance.
August 6, 2018 at 18:57
Dear sir
Geetings of the day!
I am a DV winner of 2018 from Nepal. Recently got 2NL and interview is on 4th sep and I am the principal applicant and my husband is my beneficiary. I have some queries if you could answer me I would be grateful to you!
1. Can I edit my and my spouse’s current address now by unlocking Ds260 form or should I drop the idea?
2. How much earning per year is required for any person to sponsor a couple? Is it excluding income tax or including it?
3.Since m at the end of session I don’t want to take any chances so I have asked to my sponsor for I-134 form. Does it need to be a the original form ( for which I have to ask my sponsor to send by DHL) or a scanned copy will work!?
4. Do I need to show the migration certificate of Bachelor of dental surgery in the interview or the degree certificate is enough? coz I have lost my migration certificate.
waiting for your prompt response!
thanking you in advance
have a good time ahead. 🙂
Regards
Sarita Tripathi.
August 6, 2018 at 19:29
1. No you cannot unlock. If needed, you can inform the CO at interview.
2. https://britsimonsays.com/all-about-public-charge-affidavit-of-support-i-134/
3. Scan/email is OK
4. I don’t know.
August 6, 2018 at 19:13
But Africa was current on August I don’t understand which means I must have received a 2NL on July? ?
August 6, 2018 at 19:45
Yes it was current for August interviews, but then the number was retrogressed to 39500 – so that is the final limit.
August 6, 2018 at 20:05
hi, my confirmation number for dv 2019 that already correctly recieved on 8 november 2017 and that was in validate period by dv2019 lottery, but now it says:
Warning: The information entered is not valid.
Please review the Confirmation Number, your Last/Family Name, and Year of Birth to ensure you have entered them exactly as they appear on your DV Confirmation Page, including punctuation.
Several characters are often confused:
0 = zero, O = letter ‘O’, 1 = one, I = letter ‘I’ (like ‘Ice’), 5 = five, S = letter ‘S’, 6 = six, G = letter ‘G’, 8 = eight, B = letter ‘B’

Hello,
I have been selected in 2018 program, completed interview and have got Visa, together with my wife and two children (1 and 3 years old). We all will make our first entry in September 5th, will spend a week in NY and go back to Europe. I have got a job in NY, from March 2019, but my wife is still on PHD studies, and will have to stay here for at least 2 – 2.5 years before joining me (together with the kids). Could you please tell me, should they all travel to US every 6 months to try to keep LPR status and could it be a problem for them to join me later if they lose LPR in meantime? I guess that I should not have included them in procedure now and to sponsor them later, after they are ready to join me, but I thought that this would be better/easier way…
Thanks a lot and best regards,
Branko
August 6, 2018 at 23:33
I cannot give a definitive answer – they *may* be able to avoid questions with frequent visas, but it would be wise to apply for an I-`131.
August 6, 2018 at 23:07
Hello Brit,
Just have a question to clarify my doubt.
1) On my ds260 my profession is Administrative Assistant but on my passport it is written Administrator Assistant by error. Can dis cause a problem during interview?
Thanks you
August 6, 2018 at 23:35
No
August 6, 2018 at 23:32
Hi Simon,
Forgive me if my question is off track but hope you can help me out.
I am the sponser of already issued B1/B2 visa of a relative. How can I cancel his issued visa if the person has not even entered the USA?
Thanks
August 7, 2018 at 01:51
Well, I don’t normally answer non DV questions, but yours is too funny.
The answer is – you can’t. You are not in charge of visas being issued or revoked, and your original statement is BS anyway since B1/B2 visas are not sponsored. So – the visa that your relative has has nothing to do with you. You should mind your own business.
August 7, 2018 at 03:09
Still CEAC says your info. doesn’t match our records ..does this implies the ds 260 I submitted on July us at KCC…???
Even if CEAC is not functional to submit DS can my case be appointed for interview(if my case go current),,,??
August 7, 2018 at 03:50
There may be some problem with the system – if you are concerned (and realistically expect an interview soon), contact KCC.
August 7, 2018 at 04:38
Hi brit im from AS and i just done with interview today, i got this visa. However, they put my husband on administrative process and ask us to send more documents. My husband is from iran. Do you think there is a chance he will get it?
August 7, 2018 at 05:20
Only if he has dual citizenship.
August 7, 2018 at 04:50
Good Evening Simon,
DV prgram for the Fiscal year 2018
We had our DV lottery interview today and got refused because they said we wrote Foreign state Chargeability as New Zealand. However we are 100% sure that we wrote City of Birth as Tehran and Country of Birth as Iran. ( October 2016) in our DV lottery Entry.
I called USA consulate Auckland today (after refusal) and explained everything but they sent me one email explaining Foreign State of Chargeabililty and photo of my wife with her name, date of birth and COB – New Zealand. we are so upset and sad because we almost wasted more than $3000 in this process, we know that we never wrote C.O.B as New Zealand or provided any wrong information to consulate. Even in DS-260 form we clearly mentioned City of birth as Tehran and Country of Birth as Iran. I normally take snapshot of all the forms I am filling online. I have all the forms in my computer. Just I do not have the DV entry form snapshot. I there anything we can do. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks
Sam
August 7, 2018 at 05:22
What is your case number – does it start 2018OCXXXX?
August 7, 2018 at 05:24
Yes – 2018OCXXXX
Thanks
August 7, 2018 at 05:28
So it is 100% certain you made an error – and since the case number showed you were in OC region, your denial was 100% certain and predictable. There is nothing that can be done, you were correctly refused.
August 7, 2018 at 05:36
Thanks Simon, what does OC “means”. So if it was this much certain why they didn’t informed us when we sent all our documents to them 2 weeks prior to interview. After taking $1000 they told us sorry.
Anyways thank you again for your prompt response.
August 7, 2018 at 05:41
Oceania. The region is based on your country of chargeability. Your mistake was obvious the moment you got selected. It’s not for them to inform you – there was a chance you might have been claiming chargeability for some exception (for instance born in Iran while your parents were stationed there temporarily). Every case needs to be adjudicated – even if the outcome is negative. It’s just a pity that you didn’t consider this more carefully.
August 7, 2018 at 05:26
Hi Simon,
I have a random question for you – does it matter where we enter the USA for the first time with the 1-year visa once we have got it from the embassy?
I am thinking of entering in Hawaii, no problem with that?
thanks,
Marianne
August 7, 2018 at 05:30
No problem.
August 7, 2018 at 06:15
hi brit! iam from Nepal, ive appeared interview and i got approved ! now again embassy asked to visit them again! do you know why embassy call after being approved??
August 7, 2018 at 06:16
No
August 7, 2018 at 06:26
Hello sir
why most of the applicant from Nepal are asked for i 134 form ?
What could the reason embassy ask that form Sir??
Thanks
August 7, 2018 at 13:40
Because that is the correct procedure. KDU have not been following that procedure (unlike most other countries), and now they are.
August 7, 2018 at 06:28
Hi Brit,

August 7, 2018 at 06:49
Hi Brit. Our case updated yesterday.but status didnt changed.it is still READY .is that ok ? Or it is problem ?
August 7, 2018 at 13:41
Patience.
August 7, 2018 at 14:58
HI..Could you please explain what READY status means ? I know the AP means administrative processing but i really don’t know what is ready.
Thanks
August 7, 2018 at 16:34
Did you read the FAQ?
August 7, 2018 at 07:34
HELLO
I am a dv2018 winner I passed my interview on january 07 2018 but I havent recieved any answer from embassy yet.
My case has updated 4 times till now in administrative process status . why it took so long ? When will it finish as your experience?
August 7, 2018 at 13:43
Ignore the updates. I don’t know how long it will take, but if not finished by September 30, you won’t get a visa.
August 7, 2018 at 10:41
Hello Brit, my name is wrongly arranged on my high school certificate “ASANTEWAA TWUMASI SELINA” and have TWUMASI SELINA ASANTEWAA” on my dv lottery winning notification, my birth cert and my passport as well. I mean my birth cert and passport correspond with the dv lottery win notification. Please will this arrangement on my cert cause my denial. Thank you.
August 7, 2018 at 13:52
Not normally.
August 7, 2018 at 17:10
hello Selina, am also from Ghana(accra) n a Dv winner ,can you send me a mail on [email protected].
August 7, 2018 at 11:10
Hi Brit. Can you estimate roughly with indicating approximate number that how many selectee(with derivatives) lost chance to attend in interview appointment out of 41706 selectee for DV 2018 fiscal year, I mean how many selectee(with derivatives) are there over 25775 cutoff up to designated highest case number?
August 7, 2018 at 13:55
If I get the chance today I will do that that.
August 7, 2018 at 11:19
I am a Sudanese citizen but I am born in Libya
I have heard Libya from the blocked countries
Will you meet me and give me a visa or not?
August 7, 2018 at 13:57
If you have a Sudanese passport, you can be approved.
August 7, 2018 at 12:51
hi Brit.. As we expect the upcoming visa bulletin I have two questions:
1. I want to know if the bulletin will contain two different months (ie October &November)
2. Do you expect the bulletin for AF to start from high number considering the low year selection.
August 7, 2018 at 14:02
1. The next one will repeat the final numbers for DV2018 (September interviews) and give the first DV2019 numbers for October interview.
2. No
August 7, 2018 at 14:05
thanks bro… well understood. meaning I just av to wait n see like u say as usual.
August 7, 2018 at 14:29
Hi Simon, I was trying to unlock my DS-206 form and get the following text. Moreover, I can not access my online information at KCC providing my bio-data. I am a bit confused about it. Can tell me what is going on?
Thank you for contacting KCC. We are unable to process your request to unlock the DS-260 for 2019AF00020xxx. You will have an opportunity to make any necessary changes to your DS-260 after your initial Diversity Visa interview at a United States Embassy or Consulate. If you need to submit a new DS-260 for a new spouse or child, please contact the Embassy or Consulate where your interview will take place after you receive a scheduling confirmation letter through the Diversity Visa Entrant Status Check system. For changes to an existing DS-260, it is not necessary to contact the Embassy or Consulate in advance.
August 7, 2018 at 16:40
You have plenty of time to wait anyway – so wait.
August 8, 2018 at 05:32
Waiting for what?
August 7, 2018 at 14:31
Today we faced the interview. I apply with employment. After paying via fee, we were call at the documents collecting counter. Photos of our two sons were rejected because of the blue background. Also we had not received our medicals as we just finished it yesterday. Then she took a yellow paper, mark two three sentences and asked me to bring marked requirements after the interview. After collecting photos, BC and M.C. & i-134, counter lady asked me about educational qualifications. Then I explained that I’m applying with employment and handed letters from current and previous employers & appointment letters. Then she asked me how many years have I worked in the field. After my brief description she understood my profession well stating its name (newspaper editor) went away for a while and came with a printed paper. I noticed that I is a print out of O*net. Then she gave me a paper and asked me to write down my day to day duties.
While I was writing it our number was called at CO’s counter. Handing the paper to the lady we were hurried to CO. After swearing he asked me to introduce tour family. I did so. Then two three questions about my sons. Actually first I replied with a wrong answer about my elder son saying he is 21. He was shocked and we corrected it as 20. There is a name conflict in my sons’ BCs. My alias name is there. I don’t know whether CO consider it or not. The affidavit I submitted about name conflict was returned to me earlier.
Meanwhile my wife had brought some awards I received as an Editor. Having noticed those awards CO asked what those are. So I replied.
Then he questioned me about my employment. First about my education background. I stated that I studied A/L for two years in Bio science stream but couldn’t sit for the exam due to a family problem. Then I explained about my technical and photography education. So CO thought me to be a photo journalist. I said “no I’m an Editor. I had attached all the documents together from current employment to earlier one. I started my current employment 1st of July this year. Co started reading those but not thoroughly. He simply turned pages. I was shocked and explained that I have a long experience in the field and all the documents are there. Once I asked, “may I show you Sir?” with the shock. “Don’t worry, I’ll see” he replied. Once he went away with some documents and came back. He typed a few minutes, took the yellow paper counter lady showed me and gave it to me with our passports and said something like ‘bring those listed in this and your case will be considered then.’
It is 221(g) instructing to submit medicals and photos of two sons with our passport.
That’s all for now. Altogether it is around 2 hours ‘operation’.
When I checked I found we are on AP.
We need to thank you for your helping hand we received all the time. I’ll tell something to Sofia later on. First I have to make my shocked family members calm.
So “wait & see”? or GIVE UP?
August 7, 2018 at 14:41
AP for medical was predictable – although I cringed about the photos – blue background? Really?
Anyway – Wait and see.
August 7, 2018 at 14:54
Yes Sir, sure. Would you think CO is satisfied with employment qualification? My family is shocked about it. Any comments Sir?
August 7, 2018 at 15:45
Would it have been informed if it is a denial because of lack of qualification?
August 7, 2018 at 16:29
Not necessarily.
August 8, 2018 at 00:39
As the co asked me to submit medical & passports can we still hopeful? Thanks
August 8, 2018 at 03:08
I have answered you. Really – you just need to do as instructed and wait.
August 7, 2018 at 14:43
It is only normal to be placed on AP when the required documents can’t be presented and the pictures do not follow the clear instructions at your disposal. You could have spared your sons the stress if you had told them right away you would be on AP since you came to the interview WITHOUT medical examinations papers. They asked you to come back with the proper documents, follow their instructions. You’ve paid already so at this point, waiting and seeing is your best bet. Nothing to lose anymore anyway.
August 7, 2018 at 15:07
Thanks “ILeft…..” But boys are worried that is there anything wrong about my employment. Because CO seemd to be somewhat tough in that.
August 7, 2018 at 14:58

No. You can only sponsor them through the family based process.

I cannot find the answer to my question anywhere.
Here is my question. My birth certificate and military record are in Czech language. I have certified copies of both in English. Do I have to bring the original documents in Czech language plus the certified copies to my interview or just the certified copies are sufficient (plus photocopies, I know)?
Thank you

Originals plus copies, translations plus copies.

Hi Simon,
I made a mistake on my wife’s DS260 and I have already got my 2NL and appointment date. So that means I can not change anything?
My wife was adopted and we completely forgot to put hear original father down under fathers details. We have all the adoption papers etc. But therefore her name on the birth certificate is not what I put in DS260.
What do I do?
Many thanks

This isn’t a problem. Just discuss it at interview.

Thank you for your help, greatly appreciated!

Hi
My name is Jerry from Ghana.I had my interview yesterday in Ghana , Accra and my case number is 2017Af×××.When I was going for the interview I forgot to take the original
Of my police report but rather sent the photocopy so after my interview the consular officer asked me to send them my original police report and my passport.Does this mean I have been denied or given the visa?
Thanks

It means you need to get the missing documents to them as quickly as possible. Once they have that, they can make their decision.

Dear Sir, I have received my letter for interview and the date is August 30, 2018. We are three in our case ( My wife, my step daughter(already 21 years old) and I) But my big problem that I can’t pay all examination and embassy fees for us. My question is can I leave my step children here knowing that we already mentionned on ds-260 we will go with her ? I can’t pay all fees for us.
please help me
August 7, 2018 at 22:21
Yes you can do that.

Dear Simon,
We filled our entry form for our DV lottery in October 2016 and had our interview yesterday 2018. Is it possible by any chance if we can get Online entry form snapshot (2016 website) please. And If you can tell us that if Iran was among those eligible countries when we filled out that entry form in 2016.
Do you think it can be technical fault because We were in New Zealand when we filled that entry form and gave the current address of Auckland. However we filled city of birth Tehran and country of Birth as Iran. Do you think website system might have picked up our current location as Country of Birth ?
I apologise to ask so many questions. But I am going to fight against this refusal and need some help from you. I followed every single step by reading your blogs on Diversity Visa. I made sure I double check every single step at least two time before submitting anything. It hurts because I took Oath yeasterday in front of Visa officer that I provided all the correct information and I want to prove it now.
Thanks

No you cannot get the entry information, and yes Iran was eligible. It was OBVIOUSLY your mistake. The system does NOT care where you enter from – how on earth would that work for people living abroad.
You seem determined to not accept responsibility for your mistake. But, with or without your acceptance, there is no appeal process, so you need to avoid spending more time and money.
By the way – in the time you were waiting, and having read every single step on my blog, I simply cannot imagine why you did not know what the OC in your number meant, nor ever stopped to wonder why you were in that region.

I attended my aos dv visa interview yesterday and was approved, but the officer told me that two of the systems are down and have been down for a couple of days so she was not able to see if a visa was available yet and she could not physically approve our visa in the system (But when the system is back up our date of approval will be dated back to august 6th). She also told me the second the system to check on the visas is up she would try to get a visa for us (she said she could do this without the other system being back up – the system where she approves our visa online/in the database). Hopefully that made some sense, this is all a little over my head… So now I have to wait and see.. i’m trying to stay optimistic, but Im a little worried since i’m in the european region. Have you herd anything about any of the systems being down? Should I possibly schedule an info pass? Being so close to the end and knowing that there aren’t many visas left for Europe and time is of the essence. if you dont mind me asking but what would you do in a situation like this?

Mom has already answered you.

You don’t need one. Her opinion was correct.

hello brit, I had my interview at the embassy of Argentina, I asked for an additional form called I-134 with documentation of backup savings, I have 2 derivatives in total we are 3, I was reviewing and we should have a savings of 25 thousand USD but my doubt is that if I do not have that amount of backup money as a savings, only with the form I-134 that my sponsor would be filling is enough? or is it possible that they deny me ???

Hi! I see new datas on Xarithius charts and there is a huge increase in “Ready” cases for EU. Why is that? If the ratio for ready:issued is 1:1 EU is gonna finish with ~21K visas issued. Is that even possible?
August 8, 2018 at 05:13
September scheduled interviews. Ready is not 1:1 with issued.

Hello Simon,
It’s K and I’ve made a comment about interview experience the other day.
I have one last question though.
I need to submit my current employer in Japan that I am FATCA sensitive if I am a greencard holder.
The question is, when do I become a green card holder?
Is it when I get stamp on the immigrant visa for my first entry at the immigration?
Thank you

Upon entry

Hello Simon.
I am the principal applicant in a family of four. We went for our medical examination on 23rd July but my xray was not clear so i was subjected to further examination in this case a sputum test and it will take 8 weeks for the results. So that will be around the 24 th of september. Our interview was scheduled by KCC on the 16th August. I wrote to the embassy and they said that they would rescheldule the appointment date upon receipt of the medical exam. I am worried given the 2018 DV timeline.
My questions are:
1) Should i show up on the 16th for the initial appointment and they give me further instructions
2) Should i wait for them to reschedule when they receive the medical results.
Thank you.

You are going to have to decide whether to gamble or not.
Your case was assigned to an embassy for August and would have had 4 visas allocated. Because of your medical, at the end of August, the embassy will have to send those 4 visas back to KCC. In September you would then interview and if approved, the embassy would then request 4 visas for your case. But they can only do that when you have interviewed – which will be days before the end of the year. In other words, it is highly likely that there will not be enough time, even if there there are enough visas available for your region. If the embassy itself is one of the busy embassies, they might be able to assign you 4 visas from September denials within their embassy – but that is the gamble. You might pay the fees for the 4 interviews, you might have a perfect case, and it is possible that you still won’t get the visas.
All of what I am saying above is not affected whether you choose option 1 or 2 from your question. In other words, whether you interview in August or September, the problem is the same. You will not have visas allocated.
So – this is a gamble, and not a very good one either. Given the timeline, you have very little chance of getting the visas. So – can you afford to gamble 4 x $330 on the chance of the visas – your choice.
