Finally received the KCC confirmation email and I’m sharing it just to let you know that everything is okay only AFTER receiving this email. Many people are having issues with sending documents, some people just send and don’t check the new KCC emails saying that 1 or more documents were denied or KCC is asking for new documents, I had to contact KCC 3 times because the images of the passports weren’t received correctly, a weird thing, finally worked with PDF.
It’s taking around 1-3 business days to get a reply from KCC about the documents you sent which is pretty fast, I don’t know if this depends on your continent, for example in this case SA.
Anyways, here it is:
Case Number: 2019SA000010XX
Dear XXXX XXXXXXXX:
Records indicate you have submitted a complete and valid DS-260 application for each family member, and you have provided all required documentation to the Kentucky Consular Center.
Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing. Interviews for the DV 2019 program will begin in October 2018 and conclude on September 30, 2019. Please refer to the visa bulletin at http://www.travel.state.gov to locate the current numbers being processed. This bulletin is updated after the 15th day of each month. Once an interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via email to check http://www.dvlottery.state.gov.

My spouse and I have our LPR visas and I (DV1) am on track to re-enter the US permanently within the 12 month window. Does my spouse (DV2) have to be back in the US within the 12 months too, or does my moving there first and staying enable them to stay away for a longer period (more than 12 months but less than two years)?
Great site btw, very helpful – thank you.
January 31, 2019 at 01:50
It applies to each person individually.
January 31, 2019 at 01:51
By the way – you might want to look into a re-entry permit – to extend the absence up to 2 years. Form I-131.

Good morning, with your analysis revealed I’m starting to be more hopeful. CN AF43k. I’m Algerian i participated in DV19, i was 17yo and preparing for my BAC, now i got it(excellent), I’m 18yo and studying Computer science(my love) in one of the prestigious school in Algeria, so i don’t eawa to screw up my studies… So lets says I’m entering US in Sep, i plan to come back here to continue my studies so:
1- some says 6months and others 1 year. How much can ireally stay outside the US without losing the GC.
2- my brother in Connecticut (dv13 winner) told me his GC took 18days to be delivered (i don’t know if he paid before), he entered US after 5mths his VISA was issued, give me a range [minTime, maxTime]; ?
3- could I exit US before getting the GC yesobviously but how much then can i stay outside (until Visa limit) ?
4- wd this (staying outside the US <6mths) affect my demand of naturalization 5years later?
5- if i get my dvVisa and then wait sometime before entering the US and in the meanwhile a travel ban is set against Algeria, wd this affect me ?
6- i my parents join brother with the family immigration- are my brother (10yo) and sister (6yo) concerned with (getting a GC) ?
Thanks.

January 30, 2019 at 13:00
Hello brit.i have a small issue which is bothering me. I completed my tertiary education in 2016. Because of lack of jobs in our country i applied for attachment without pay in one of the companies for two years jx to gain more experience and also build my cv. After the two years i got a contract at one of the mining companies in my country where am working now. In the ds260 i didnt state my former work in it as it was jx an attachment i jx did for my own benefit in order to upgrade myself for the job market. I only listed my current job. My problem is when u type my name on the internet. In my linkedin profile i have stated in my cv that i worked in my former company for two years. Am now worried because if they do the background check on me , they will see my linkedin profile. Please should do you think the C O will bring the topic up during my interview or i should inform the C O before she even brings the topic up….And also can i be denied based on what they saw in my linkedin?
January 31, 2019 at 02:08
I don’t know. I think you are worrying about triviality – just be honest if asked.
January 30, 2019 at 16:03
Hi brit. My interview is on 26 march. When should i ask to my relative to send me I-134. I mean how many days before interview can i send the affidavit of suport to the embasy.
January 31, 2019 at 02:13
For almost all embassies you take the document to the interview. The exceptional embassy will tell you what to do.
January 30, 2019 at 17:10
Pls mr brits.this is not only my question what the reason case number Af 27xxx to receive the mail to send documents before CN Af 24xxx but summit their ds 260 form the same time

January 31, 2019 at 02:15
I don’t track embassy specific qualification requirements.
January 31, 2019 at 06:28
Angela which of the subjects did you get E? It your cert SSSCE OR WASSCE?
January 30, 2019 at 20:26
Hi BritSimon – I have a question on the I-134 form – I looked at the requirements on the form, but my question did not seem to be answered.
I am going to be a Sponsor for a DV winner, – I worked part time last year, but then when my employer retired in Spring, I have not worked. I receive Social Security, and also Unemployment benefits, as well as one or two other small sources of income. I also have a good savings account, own my home etc. There is no place on this form regarding income (that I could see), except your W-2 or self-employment. My W-2 is small, but with Soc.Security and Unemployment Income, I have well enough income to qualify to be a Sponsor. But my question is, how do I submit this information and are these valid sources of income to qualify as a Sponsor or will I be denied on the basis that my W-2 only is small? Thanks for a reply.

Hi Brit,
I applied DS260 as an unmarried, got the email from KCC asking for documents to upload online. I then got married and unlocked my DS260, and successfully changed my marital status and submitted my spouse application as well.
My question is, will KCC send me another email asking for the documents or can I submit my wife’s and my documents without waiting for another email?
(P.S. I have not submitted any documents yet, except for the completed DS 260)
January 31, 2019 at 14:04
Submit all documents now.
January 31, 2019 at 07:19
Hi
Love your site, very informative! But can’t seem to find my answer anywhere, I’m the principle selectee, my spouse’s passport was just destroyed by our dogs! We need to get a new one, but do you think this will cause problems as the passport numbers will no longer match?
Thanks
Paul
January 31, 2019 at 14:05
No problem. Take the old one to the interview as well.
January 31, 2019 at 10:47
Hello Brit,
1. I have sent the docs to KCC a few days ago and they replied that the docs and DS260 are valid. I am current on March but have not recieved 2Nl letter.
Is there a chance that I might be scheduled for March? or it more probable April?
2. I might want to change the place that I will reside in America and the Greed card address? when should I make that change? during interview? or later?
January 31, 2019 at 14:12
1. Not March.
2. Interview.
January 31, 2019 at 17:39
Hi Simon,
As a reminder, I am looking into changing my interview location, I used to live in France at the time of application and I now live in Canada.
I finally got an answer from the Montreal embassy, they are willing to initiate the transfer but they are warning me that it could take months before I have another interview scheduled. I get it.
Now my question is, I know that the number of visa available under the DV lottery is limited, I’ve seen people having interview 3 weeks before the September cutoff date and they got their visa.
We are in February, let say worst case my interview is rescheduled to May or even June, is there a lot of visas left at this period? Do I take an enormous risk by changing location or is it relatively safe because we are still “early” in the interview process? You probably don’t know for sure, I am just looking for an opinion.
January 31, 2019 at 19:15
I have never seen a cutoff that early – but there is always risk when you transfer embassies.
January 31, 2019 at 21:59
On average, when do we see the cutoff?
From you experience, by transferring I can expect my interview to be delayed by what? 3 months?
Thanks!
January 31, 2019 at 23:30
August/September interviews (announced June/July)
Transferring is not something you can predict.
January 31, 2019 at 18:25
Hi Mr Brit
01 Is there a any delay of document submission process ?
02 And can you give us data about the how much CS no has submission is completed ?
03.And 2019AS(8xxx- 10xxx) range when will be able to submit document ?
January 31, 2019 at 19:16
1. Unclear question.
2. Unclear question.
3. Some months from now.
January 31, 2019 at 18:25
Hi Simon.
In January only a few visas were issued.
My questions are:
1. – What was the reason for such a fall ?
2. – Was the backlog of visas for February and March the main reason ?
3. – Do you still think that the final cutoff will be the same as you wrote in your analysis ?
Thank you.
January 31, 2019 at 19:17
It is still January – so I don’t know what fall you are talking about.
February 1, 2019 at 17:30
Hi Simon.
This is the answer from the U.S. Embassy-xxxxx EU for the same question:
– It was because of the change of procedures, and very few people had responded to KCC’s email to submit the required documents. Starting in February the numbers are up, and in March it is higher.
Thank you.
February 1, 2019 at 17:37
Yep – that is what I have been explaining BUT the backlog could also bite.
January 31, 2019 at 18:38
Hi brit we had our interview on October 2019 and last update 24th October 2019 but our case is at ap please what should we do. Thanks
January 31, 2019 at 19:18
You have to wait – but you can contact the embassy if you want.
January 31, 2019 at 18:44
What was the final cut off?
January 31, 2019 at 19:19
Please make your question clear.
January 31, 2019 at 20:11
for visas allocated to Africa/Algeria – my friend’s CN is AF39xxx – I think his number is too high to make it this year – thanks, sorry
January 31, 2019 at 21:26
It is too early to know that. It’s best you tell your friend to wait and see.
January 31, 2019 at 19:51
Hi Brit,
Why is it that some people with higher CN receive mails from KCC requesting for their Documents before those with lower CN? Will everybody receive a mail requesting for his/her Documents from KCC before being sent his 2NL?
January 31, 2019 at 21:24
I don’t know. This is a NEW process.
January 31, 2019 at 20:03
I have seen many issues that should have an interview in January, have been postponed for February ….. the question: Should we be afraid of this thing with big nuns …….. Because i suppose to have an interview in September postponing a month falls to be left uninterviewed …… can the new process be a domino effect for all issues ?????? thanks
January 31, 2019 at 21:25
By not scheduling people they are creating a backlog of people that need interviews in later months. So – there are reasons for FASTER AND SLOWER progress on the VB. Wait and see is STILL the best answer.
January 31, 2019 at 21:00
Hi Mr.Birt
hi every body
i want to ask dose any one send the documents to KCC without receiving an e mail from them and they reply that that documents s ok

January 31, 2019 at 21:27

January 31, 2019 at 21:10
Hello brit ,
How would you analyse someone with cn af 32400 filling his ds in August has received kcc email and someone with cn af32200 filling his ds in June hasnt received kcc email yet.
January 31, 2019 at 21:28
I don’t know.
January 31, 2019 at 22:17
Hi Brit, if someone doesn’t receive email from KCC requesting documents submission can I contact KCC to know why.
January 31, 2019 at 23:30
You can ask.
January 31, 2019 at 22:32

Hello Dear Simon,
Can someone send their documents to KCC without getting their email to send your documents?
Does it make a problem?
February 1, 2019 at 17:39
No problem.
February 1, 2019 at 11:51
Hi Brit
Does the U.S visa ban on Ghana involves the dv type?
February 1, 2019 at 17:38
No
February 1, 2019 at 14:57
I have asked kcc why they didn’t send me Email to send my documents and they give me this answer”
Thank you for your inquiry.
Your forms have been received and are currently processing. Allow several weeks for processing. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing. Once the Kentucky Consular Center has finished processing your DS-260, you will receive an email from the Kentucky Consular Center giving you instructions to complete in order for your case to continue processing
What you say about this reply?
February 1, 2019 at 17:40
The reply speaks for itself.
February 1, 2019 at 15:45
Hi Brit
I have an interview scheduled next week
But I haven’t done my medical
Can I attend the interview without the medical report?
February 1, 2019 at 17:41
Some embassies will allow that, others won’t. Why haven’t you followed instructions???
February 1, 2019 at 18:31
Dear Brit
I will be having my interview soon , I am not the main applicant my wife she was ,
I would like to ask if my visits to some countries has issues with US government such as ban like somalia ..etc that will effect to grant me the visa or I will be questioned during the interview since they will see the visa stamps ??? .
Actually base on my occupation as Engineer the company is sending us for installation and maintenance work, just I had curious if that will effect , note my visits is for short periods such a 3-4 days . Please let me know your comment in order to prepare well .
BR
February 1, 2019 at 22:35
It’s no problem.
February 1, 2019 at 20:25
Hi Simon,
Thank you for your hard work.
According to VB (Asia) my interview would have been scheduled for February. I submitted my DS260 on January 7th 2019 and got confirmation on submission of complete documents on January 19th 2019 from KCC.
Is it likely that I will receive a 2NL for March in the second batch or will I be scheduled for April?
February 1, 2019 at 22:39
Not March for sure.
February 1, 2019 at 22:05
Hi Simon,
A friend of mine has the appointment for the interview in 30 days. He has finished his university degree and reported his degree in DS-260. Recently, while the university was mailing his original diploma, apparently the post agency has lost it and they cannot find it for the moment. What is your suggestion? Should he postpone his appointment for such a reason or he keep the scheduled interview and explain the matter to the CA?
February 2, 2019 at 01:25
It is up to your friend – it is not a situation where I can suggest something.
February 2, 2019 at 05:13
Hey Simon!
EU26000
from 2013-2017 I used to work in Dubai
And I got my police certificate in 2018 and my interview probably in last month 2019 dv
Is it fine with valid certificate or I have to get new?
Thank you for your answer.
February 2, 2019 at 15:34
They might accept an old police cert if you have not returned to that country.
February 3, 2019 at 11:35
Hi
I got my PC from Dubai also, here is the thing:
1) it is only valid for 3 months
2) even if you do not reside there anymore you can apply for one online and pay online and they will send you the certificate online, (even If you reside in UAE the certificate is online)
he has to get an updated one within 3 months from his interview date.
February 3, 2019 at 16:15
Please understand I don’t pluck my answers from the sky. So – “HERE is the thing”.
1. The procedure for using expired police certs is well documented.
2. UAE police certs are not required if someone does not reside there.
3. If someone resides in UAE the police cert must be less than three months old at interview.
February 2, 2019 at 10:58
Dear simon= i check case status it say

Dear sir ,
I need your help please to correct my ds 260 before my visa interview scheduled on february 11th , because I reversed between surname and my givenname.
February 2, 2019 at 15:58
You should have corrected that WAY before the 2NL. Contact the embassy.
February 2, 2019 at 14:06
Hi, a guy I know swapped between Firstname and FamilyName and his interview soon.
1- Have you ever met cases like ?
2- and what shall he do ?
February 2, 2019 at 15:58
Same answer as the person that asked.
February 2, 2019 at 15:48
HI brit!
AF11**** still waiting the 2nl my question is
has anybody else faced this problem when you send the email with files (documents) attached on it and they (KCC) keep asking you to send it again and again i contacted them they said:
The Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) has received your email and is currently processing your documents.
but after 2 months (i sent the first on november 22 2018)
Dear **********************:
The Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) has completed processing of your DS-260 Diversity Visa application form and the DS-260s of all accompanying family members.
In order to continue processing your case, you must submit electronic copies of the documents below in .jpeg or .pdf
i send them back the files 3 times in a row (31 of january) and ask again
they answered
The Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) has received your email. This email address, [email protected]
February 2, 2019 at 17:06
We are on the same case we dont know why ?
February 2, 2019 at 21:47

February 3, 2019 at 14:29
Yes i translated the document because they say to translate if they are not in english
February 3, 2019 at 15:28
Adil if the documents aren’t in english or in the official language of the country where the interview is scheduled … so if your interview is in morocco and your docs are in arabic you may not translate them…..i didn’t because here in senegal french is our official one and the interview is asked here ……let me know if within a couple of week you got an email from KCC ok i will let you know too good luck
February 3, 2019 at 15:58
The Morocco embassy instructions say documents should be in English.
https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/iv-dv-supplemental/CSB–Casablanca.pdf#page3
February 3, 2019 at 22:23
All documents not in English, or in the official language of the country in which application for a visa is being made, must be accompanied by certified translations. The translation must include a statement signed by the translator that states that the translation is accurate and the translator is competent to translate.
February 2, 2019 at 18:26
Hello brit,
Is it possible to have the 2nl without receiving the kcc email to submit the documents .
February 2, 2019 at 18:44
Yes, as long as you had sent the documents.
February 3, 2019 at 02:57
Hi Brit, Thanks for your help so far. I want to know what are the process after receiving second letter. Do I only need I134 from my sponsor or some other documents as well? Also, do I take the I134 to the interview and provide only if I’m asked or the sponsor have to send it themselves? If you have already written a post for what to do after receiving second letter can you please provide me that?

February 3, 2019 at 04:27
Hi. Just a quick question:
I have attended my interview, been approved (!!), received my DV and sealed yellow packet etc, but I have just noticed on the summary form attached to the sealed packet that my Father’s name is incorrect (My name is listed here), and I’ve checked my DS-260 and it was incorrect there too.
I haven’t noticed this until now, and the interviewing officer didn’t mention it either. I have emailed my interviewing consulate to see what I can do but has anyone else had a similar issue before?
Thanks!
February 3, 2019 at 16:18
It is not a problem. See what the embassy says.
February 3, 2019 at 08:36
Hi simon
Why there is a kind of delay about the Scanned document submission to Kcc , In asia only submit upto CS 6800 after that kcc still not ask to submit document . they didnt send email to submit document above CS 7000 .
what is the reson ?
February 3, 2019 at 16:16
I don’t know.
February 3, 2019 at 18:03
Hello Simon.
Again about documents translation. Reading my embassy requirements (Naples) looks like they are not happy with the local language but they require ORIGINAL certificates and english translation too.
Sorry but i’m confused.
February 3, 2019 at 18:43
I have answered this already. What is your question now?
February 3, 2019 at 19:06
Help me to understand pls, i can send documents to KCC in the official language of the country where the interview is scheduled but when it’s time of the interview i have to take translations and originals with me? I mean, this is what i read on the italian embassy requirements.
February 3, 2019 at 20:38
I fell into this confusion after reading your answer to Layesniang some posts above. I read Italian requirements and i feel unsure now, that’s all.
February 3, 2019 at 21:50
Hi, I asked the embassy and they replied that documents in Italian don’t need to be tranlated

On 02/02/2019 I received an email from KFC to send documents , knowing that I am a casenumber 32k

Hello Simon, we made the greencard activation trip in June 2018, my husband and I are going in March to California, I will stay 10 days to look for school and house, my husband is staying but I will return to Italy, and I will return June to California with my son who has already finished his school year to finally stay.
1. Is this OK, or would there be a problem?
Thank you so much

As long as your son is out of US for less than 12 months it’s OK

Hello Brit! My spouse is the main applicant. Case 2019AF35XXX. We submitted ds260 last year. I now live in a different country since January 2019. Is it OK to wait and update the ds260 with my new address during the interview or must I do it now? Thanks.
February 4, 2019 at 05:54
You should update now so you can interview in your current country.

My spouse is the main applicant and still lives in my country of origin. I am the only one who has changed residence please.

So if you plan to go to his/her country for the interview then no need to update the address.
