At that time I hadn’t information about law of these program I am 20 years old now and I creation a form of DV and I not pass at that form.and now my famil pass at DV lottery and I am not at first form of dv lottery of my famil. Now can I include at the form of D-S 260 of my famil and can I travel to USA??

May 19, 2019 at 19:58
You have to be more clear in your question to get an accurate answer.
May 19, 2019 at 20:14
I registered a DV for myself and i not success but my famil was success and I not be at my famil DV now can I include at DV of my famil? And I am 20 now
May 19, 2019 at 20:19
And form of 260 have a place for add of person can I add my name at that place ??
May 19, 2019 at 20:47
Wait. You should ALREADY be listed. If they did NOT include you, and you are a child under 21, then they will be disqualified.
May 19, 2019 at 20:08
I registered my mane and I not successful but my famil success at the DV and I am 20 and can I include at DV of my famil. Because DV of my famil is family DV .
May 19, 2019 at 20:46
If your parents are winners they should have included you on the initial entry and you will be a part of their case.
May 21, 2019 at 06:02
Good morning Sir, can agreencard winner who has stayed in US for two years be my sponsor?
May 21, 2019 at 13:57
Yes
May 19, 2019 at 20:32
Please help me
May 19, 2019 at 22:16
So I can register at the from of 260 wth my famil??
May 19, 2019 at 22:18
I’m concerned you are not paying attention. RE-read what I said.
May 19, 2019 at 22:23
I not understand good tell me clear please can I add my name at form of 260 or not??
May 19, 2019 at 22:25
Is the winner your parents?
Why are you not on their application already? Did they NOT add you on their entry? WHY NOT?
May 19, 2019 at 22:30
Hi
I have mine approved and I just wanted to ask if there’s any specific POE’s which are best to go through? The easiest for me would be Hawaii, would that be ok?
May 19, 2019 at 22:30
You can go anywhere, Hawaii is fine.
May 19, 2019 at 22:34
Yes my parents is winner .
Because my famil hadn’t information about 21 years old is under of the age they think 18 is up of from age . We are in Afghanistan we didn’t have very facility for getting of more information about that
May 19, 2019 at 22:37
Then they have ruined their win because they did not read the instructions properly. The instructions are very clear. They will be disqualified. It would be a waste of time and money for them to proceed.
May 19, 2019 at 22:45
So we don’t complete our operations and we do not complete form of 260 ??
May 19, 2019 at 22:52
That is my advice, correct.
May 19, 2019 at 22:51
We have not any way form of 260 have a place for adding person if I use that ??
May 19, 2019 at 23:17
Hi Brit! Thank you for helping us. You’re so great! My question is, If the principal Applicant is from Kenya but currently living in Egypt and chose Egypt as his interview venue, will he be counted under Egypt or in AF when they post in the visa bulletin? Thanks and more power!
May 20, 2019 at 01:09
AF
May 20, 2019 at 10:41
Thanks!
May 19, 2019 at 23:24
hi brit
kcc say you must bring the same documents that you sunmbitted to kcc to the interview
now i want to renew my passport and i wiil take both new and old is this problem?
May 20, 2019 at 01:09
That’s fine.
May 20, 2019 at 01:51
PLEASE HELP ME TO UNDERSTAND THIS! BRIT!!
I’m digging how the selection process is actually effect to my country and region as well. seems in the previous FY2018 year (took because all the processes are completed and data are available in ceac).
They have put CURRENT from JULY which means they have enough interview slots and processing time for all available cases right? but seems they had 15997 no. of selected entries but they only process 13400 cases approximately (based on ceac AS region results) why is that happen? why they did not process all the cases if they put current for that region? is there a static allocation for each country?
May 20, 2019 at 02:04
Hi
Same here me too…I wanted to know da same for my case …its says Oceania is current..bt my case no# is 2019OC0000011xx…I dnt really think I will get an interview cz brit said only cases below 1100 will b interviewed..
May 20, 2019 at 02:14
Well, the CEAC shows there is no case at 2019OC11XX range – so there is something odd about your statement.
May 20, 2019 at 02:09
There are holes between the numbers. Google Britsimon holes theory to understand.
May 20, 2019 at 02:26
I HAVE STILL STRUGGLING TO UNDERSTAND THE ROUGH PROCESS. I HAVE READ HOLES THEORY AND ILLUSTRATION TOO.

May 20, 2019 at 02:34
I’m sorry – you have not read enough. Everything you could possible need to know is described on my site. You just don’t seem to have spent enough time to understand. A couple of points. Case numbers have holes. Each case number can have more than one person as each case covers derivatives. So – I don ‘t know what you can’t understand.
May 20, 2019 at 02:12
Hello Simon how are you? I need your help! I already paid the 220 u$s for each Green card (3)
Then I created the USCIS account but I dont know if I have to create one account for each family member or not because after creating the account only appears my receipt Number
May 20, 2019 at 02:20
One is OK. You won’t be able to track the cards for about 90 days, and by that time you will probably have the cards. So – relax.
May 20, 2019 at 02:28
But i need to change the address where Green cards will be ship and I need to change the address in all my family Green cards and I dont know how to do it online
May 20, 2019 at 02:34
You can’t change it online. Your FINAL chance to change is at the POE.
May 20, 2019 at 02:21
Hi ArgentinoEmi, can I ask you a question? I see you’re a winner of the DV lottery (not sure which year). For how many years did you apply before you got picked in the lottery? I’m from Argentina too.
May 20, 2019 at 02:30
Hello how are you? I’m 2019 winner, I had been Aplying for 6 or 7 years.
Are you a winner too?

Hello Simon
I understand the i134 is the better option but all my efforts in getting one was a dead end so I am.left with the last and sole option.
1, I am 20 yrs old, so in making the bank statement is it going to carry my name or the name of my sponsor…since I might be considered under age
2, my aunt is my sponsor and she’s going to give me an affidavit of support to back me up
3, are the two docs going to be in her name or just the affidavit of support.?
4. That not withstanding I have an address of someone in the US but an intl student the address I plan on giving the day if my interview that’s were I’ll be living.
Just wish to know if am in order or a lil retarded somewhere in my thoughts thanks…..
May 20, 2019 at 13:20
You can use your own judgement to best explain your situation with your own money, support from family, friends in the USA.
May 20, 2019 at 13:58
Thanks alot Mr Brit. .. so the bank statement should be in my name irrespective of the fact that am 20?.
May 20, 2019 at 07:22
Hi,brit, thanks for your quick response in helping follow the right path.
Kcc ask for documents in feb,I submitted and receive a mail in march, records show that you………submitted required docs.
2019Af406xx.
May 20, 2019 at 07:25
Waiting for 2nl .
Hope to get it before the month runs out
May 20, 2019 at 07:29
Hello Simon,
Thank you for all the time and effort you put into your blog. It is so helpful.
I’m a 2020 selectee, case number is
2020OC4**
I have submitted the ds260. Should
I send the required documents now to the kcc?
Once again, thank you so much. I’m so glad I found your blog. Because without it, I don’t think I would be able to navigate through this process. ?
May 20, 2019 at 13:30
It is FAR too soon for documents. You have months to wait.
May 20, 2019 at 19:01
Ok, thank you
May 20, 2019 at 08:59
Hi Brit,
I won the DV lottery 2020. I havent submited the DS-260 because i dont know what to put on the mailling adress, since i dont have no one in the US, no family no friends nothing.
Can i use a mailling adress box, like my usa or something like that, just to have a safe mailling box in the city i want to move.
Thanks in advanced.
May 20, 2019 at 13:34
No – you need a real residential address of someone you can trust. So find a friend of a friend or something.
May 20, 2019 at 09:03
One thing I do not understand is about the police report.
when do we need to submit the police report? for DS260 or for interview ?
May 20, 2019 at 11:08
For interview as well as when KCC email you for your further required document.
May 20, 2019 at 13:35
You will be asked to send documents some time after the DS260 submission (could be months later). You will send police certs then AND show them at the interview.
May 20, 2019 at 09:36
Hello Brit,
Thank you for a tremendous job.
I apologise in advance but need to ask this; H.E Donald Trump last Thursday unveiled a new proposal about issuing business visas instead of green cards. The proposal is merit based immigration etc..
When do you think this will come in effect?
May 20, 2019 at 13:38
No time soon. Don’t bother me with this, it’s pointless.
May 20, 2019 at 10:45
Hi Brit,
On the Affidavit page you posted, I”from business investments was mentioned”. Does this mean only business in US or can it include business in home/native country too?
More specifically, do I have to have the 10k in savings account if I also provide proof of the business I own and the accompanying sales/profit documents?
Thanks in advance
May 20, 2019 at 10:47
That should read “Income from business investments” above.
May 20, 2019 at 14:08
Affidavits are produced by a sponsor living in the USA.
Your own savings can be from anywhere.
May 20, 2019 at 14:25
Maybe I moodied my question a little bit. My actual question is, do I need to have 10k in my account, if I already have an affidavit from someone US and I own a business in home country.
Is the 10k a must, or can it be waived off by a combination of the other two?
May 20, 2019 at 17:21
An I-134 is all you need. If you want to show savings also, you can do that.
May 20, 2019 at 11:25
Hello simon my interview has been scheduled .. when i asked the documents to my sponser he hold me that he won’t able to send me E-file due to his sensitive information so he wants to send me paper file instead of E-file does it create any issue at the time of interview .. i am really worried
May 20, 2019 at 14:10
No problem.
May 20, 2019 at 13:20
Hi,
Case number 2019AF39XXX: Documents are not submitted yet – we are waiting for the police clearance form (could take another 2 -3 weeks) . Would you recommend that we go ahead and submit the documents we have already and then follow up with another submission once we have the final document?
May 20, 2019 at 14:16
The instructions say they want a complete set of documents. So wait.
May 20, 2019 at 14:17
Hi,
My sister got selected for 2020 EDV lottery but she didn’t receive the 1st letter in her email account(She is confirmed that she provided the right email address). She confirmed she was selected by checking it online.
She filled out the DS260 form and confirmed her email account is correct but still is worried, if she won’t receive a 2nd letter in her email account. Did anybody ran into the issue like this?
May 20, 2019 at 14:18
No one gets emailed with the selected letter.
May 20, 2019 at 14:35
HI Brit,
I really appreciate your quick response and thank you for clearing the doubts. So, just wanted to make sure that the 2nd letter will be sent to email only if she gets selected right?
May 20, 2019 at 19:49
Read the Basic questions article.
May 20, 2019 at 14:22
Hello Brit
I am 23 years old and currently studying Masters Degree. My interview is after 2 months. My question is, other than I134 Affidavit of support, do I need to show bank statement? (Specific amount of money) or just Affidavit is alright?
All the best
May 20, 2019 at 17:20
The I-134 meets the requirement by itself.
May 20, 2019 at 15:05
Hello brit.
i interviewed on may 2nd and my case is in administrative processing and while i was checking the status on ceac it says case updated on may 14 , but i couldn’t understand the time frame that mentions between 2 to 3 weeks .can you tell me what comes next after the case is updated from your experience or from other blogs.
thanx
May 20, 2019 at 20:07
The time for AP can vary greatly. There is no pattern for the updates, so you cannot infer anything from them.
May 20, 2019 at 15:15
Hi Brit,
Assume my case is 15502 in asia region for 2019 dv lottery. if june visa bulletin is 11000 and july they updated visa bulletin to CURRENT (not to number). so is my case get scheduled and get 2L if i send the documents to KCC as they expected?
Thanks
May 20, 2019 at 20:07
Current means all cases can be scheduled (subject to DS260 and documents).
May 20, 2019 at 15:19
Hello,
I am in F1 visa, I am selcted for DV lottery for 2020. My Case number is 2020AS00090xx, is it a high case number? Based on your experience, do you think that I have chance to appear in the interview. If a fill the DS 260 then will I be eligible to apply for OPT after my graduation?
May 20, 2019 at 20:08
It is a medium number, but too soon to know more. Wait a couple of months.
May 20, 2019 at 15:33
Dear Simon,
While filling DS-260, I need to fill my present address. I live in a village and in my passport the address is the village address(let’s say the village name is X), but it needs to fill a city. Can I fill in that “City” field “VILLAGE X” or “X”?
May 20, 2019 at 20:10
X
May 20, 2019 at 17:00
Hello Brit!
First of all, thank you for this blog.
I’m a DV2020 winner from Spain and I just found out that in the original entry I put my “first last name” as middle name and my “second last name” as last name, since I’m Spanish and most of us don’t have middle name, but we all do have 2 last names… (the first of the father and the second one of the mother)
I’ve read this, but I don’t know how could that be considered…
https://britsimonsays.com/faq/made-xxx-mistake-original-entry-will-disqualified/
I know that in the DS260 I must put that correctly, but my question is, when is it decided whether or not this kind of errors (spelling, incorrect order, etc) may cause disqualification?
Is that decided at the time of the interview at the embassy or is it possible to not even get the chance of the interview because of this?
Should I communicate that via email to the KCC after filling DS260 in the next months?
Thank you in advance.
May 20, 2019 at 20:14
KCC never disqualify cases. The embassy decides. No need to tell KCC, just get it correct in the DS260. This is not a problem…
May 20, 2019 at 19:21
Mr Simon,
I got email for submitting supporting docs.my number is As201912*** .so I have to get one police rpt and is still under processing. My question is ” Do I really late for schedulling an interview,? Is it OK if I submit mid June?
May 20, 2019 at 20:16
Mid June might be possible, but risky.
May 20, 2019 at 20:27
Hello Simon, just one question because we have a big Issue, we won tu Green Card, fill all the forms and put an incorrect adress on the DS 260… unfortunetely it has not been corrected y’a the PoE 🙁
Well, we came back to France and we were planning to stay little bit less than 1 year (as it’s allowed and understood by Immigration).
How can we do ? We have seen that the I90 has to be filled inside the US, but we cannot move there before … Is it possible to replace the Green card to the right adress from France ?
Hope you can help us with this stupid issue …!
May 20, 2019 at 20:32
Nope. They will send it to the address they had at the POE. So it will be delivered, and if it is delivered to the address you gave but it gets lost, they may charge you for replacements (around $500 per card).
May 20, 2019 at 21:15
Hi Simon
I was working in the usa under L1 visa. I overstayed my last working day by 30 days as I was doing exams then left the country afterwards and never travelled back. This was 4 years ago
I just realized this could be unlawful presence and overstay. Should I report this in ds 260 and does it impact my approval?
May 20, 2019 at 21:44
You MUST NOT tell any lies if asked. That does NOT mean you have to wave a big red flag in front of their faces to draw attention to something they don’t ask about. So – you report your visit accurately and if asked anything about it you tell the truth.
May 20, 2019 at 22:19
Thanks a lot Simon
This is what I was going to do.
But since I am not 100% sure whether this is considered an overstay or not – there is a question in ds 260 on whether I have overstayed a visa before and I am not sure about the answer, if I said yes it’s automatically flagged to them
May 20, 2019 at 22:21
Also the expiry date of i 94 was yet to expire a year later after I left (i.e employment ended before the visa expiry)
May 20, 2019 at 23:01
You can check the admitted until date on the I-94 website. If you departed before the admitted until date you should be OIK.
https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/home
May 20, 2019 at 22:49
You already called it an overstay.
May 20, 2019 at 23:06
Yes, I departed 1 year before the admitted until date but 30 days after employment ended thats why I am not sure if this is a “real” overstay.
May 21, 2019 at 02:43
That is beyond the scope of what I answer.
May 20, 2019 at 21:22
Hi everybody,
hope you are well,
I got my B1/B2 visa cancelled on my departure to my country from USA. The reason was illegal working under tourist visa. after 2 years I won green card. I wonder if I would be granted the green card or I will have issue with that. What Can I do in order to successfully go through the process and interview.
thanks in advance
May 20, 2019 at 21:45
I don’t know. I suggest you talk to an attorney.
May 20, 2019 at 22:04
Hi Brit
Thank you for taking the time out to put this blog together. I’ve been selected for the DV lottery case number 2020OCE20##. Do you think I have any chance at all in obtaining an interview? I know it’s a high number and I have read through your blog several times and held off sending the DS-260 form as per your suggestion. I’m not really sure how long to wait sending it through. You mentioned the visa Bulletin. Would you have any idea at this stage as to the number of visas allocated to Australia?
Thanks in advance
May 20, 2019 at 22:47
Oc will get around 800 visas. Each case covers the winner and derivatives, so a family of 4 is 4 of the 800.
So for your case to get a chance, there must be many more holes than usual, and lots of people that decide not to process their selection. Normally 800 is achieved by about case number 1400 or so.
So the question is, how many holes are there. We will know more in a month or two.
June 3, 2019 at 09:34
Sorry for the late reply I just saw this. Thank you
May 20, 2019 at 23:13
Thank you so much Brit Simon for your help. My question to you is: I was already on an exchange visitor Visa(J1 Visa) which has 2 year home residency restriction after leaving the states, I came back to my country December 2016 and I applied for the Dv in 2017 , I was still under the term. I was selected in May 2018 but I didn’t submit my Ds 260 until December 2018 ( after my two year was over) . Am I fine for the interview cause it’s coming soon . I don’t want to seem like I broke the law by applying for green card before my two years restriction was over.
Thank you so much. I hope my question makes sense
May 21, 2019 at 02:53
No problem.
May 21, 2019 at 14:52
Thank you Brit ❤️ you just made my day
May 21, 2019 at 01:24
1. simon have you heard of anyone having chronic hepatitis b got visa approved?
2. i know its not in visa denial disease list but does having chronic hepatitis b lead to visa denial high chances by consular at interview?
May 21, 2019 at 03:03
If it is not on the list of diseases that can cause denial (and you seem to know that), then why the question?
May 21, 2019 at 01:57
Hi Brit,
As you told, I sent the docs again and inquired KCC whether the docs are satisfactory. The reply was processed and satisfactory, my Case Number is 2019AS56xx, is there any chance I’ll be getting the 2NL this month?
Thanks for extraordinary service ❤

Wait.
May 21, 2019 at 04:32
Hi Brit,
I am selected for the 2020 lottery, and my case number is 2020AS00009XXX. . I am from Nepal and currently living in the United States. These are my concern regarding the lottery.
1) Is the the pretty high number ?
2) what is the next step am I suppose to do at this point ?
3) When should I file for adjustment of status ?
Thanks
Sagar
May 21, 2019 at 04:34
1. Yes
2. For now, nothing (just read about the process on this site).
3. That won’t be for around 1 year – so – see point 2.
June 3, 2019 at 03:57
Hello Sagar,
Our case is similar. I am also here in USA from Nepal and my case number is also in 9**** range. So lets gets connected.
May 21, 2019 at 05:10
Sir I sent mail to support@ustraveldocs and consulor to unlock DS260 to changed the sponsor so i got reply from Spport@ustraveldocs that simply tells that Your case has been updated, please log back into your account to view the details but till now I didn’t received email from consulor Kathmandu so what should I do at this time apart from this I did changed the sponsor before 15 days ago at that time they unlocked ds260 with In 1 hours so need your help sir?
May 21, 2019 at 13:53
I don’t have any way to tell them to hurry up for you.
May 21, 2019 at 05:17
Hello Sir, I have a question I lived as a refugee in a country for decades recently I come to my own country Afghanistan as situation get normal and Im also winner of dv2020 my case number is 2020AS00022xxx.
1=Should I go to that country (Pakistan) in order to take police clearance certificate.
2=for how long I should get PCC should I mention the date let I was living in pakistan from 2000 till feb 2018.
May 21, 2019 at 13:55
1. Read the instructions for Pakistan (on the reciprocity page)
2. Don’t get it yet – your number means you have a long time to wait (about a year).
May 21, 2019 at 05:59
Hey brit
I asked if the bank statement should be in my name since am 20 and might be considered young or it should be in my sponsor’s name???
May 21, 2019 at 13:56
It’s a silly question. You either have a bank account or you don;t. Your age is irrelevant.

You will need to start an I-130 process. I don’t advise on that process.

Hi
I have DV2020OC3XX which I understand to be a relatively safe number. Some follow up questions:
1. The FAQ’s pages state that the the higher numbered cases will have to wait a while post submitting their DS260 before receiving an interview. How late can I wait with a relatively safe number before I may put myself in danger for losing my spot? and do they ever write-off the lower numbers which take a while to submit?
2. I didn’t complete my final year of high school, but do have a Bachelors degree from a New Zealand university and have held finance jobs for 8+ years. My assumption is that my degree/work experience will satisfy the educational/skills requirement, but haven’t seen anything to confirm this. Do you believe I’ll be fine?
Thanks

1. You could safely wait about 1 year (i.e. April/early May). Once you submit you will be scheduld. September 30, 2020 is the last date for the year, but September interviews are scheduled in July.
2. Most likely yes. Technically your HS results matter, even if you went on to other higher level education, but given your education and work history you should not have a problem.
