Hi Brit,
My case number is 2020AF7XXX,
When do you think the reply, 2NL, and interview will be?
Thanks in advance,
September 14, 2019 at 15:00
I have written many articles to explain that. Check the archives, or wait and see.

Hello Britsimon,
I have submitted DS260 form. I found out that j missed my patronomyc names in the field “who did assist yo fill the form?” for one of children. I stupid mistake in the same section for the “relationship” i wrote “farther” instead of father. Do you think i have request to unlock this mistakes?
September 14, 2019 at 15:03
No
September 14, 2019 at 13:35
Hello Brit,
I have checked the CEAC recently and it showed that my visa is printed and will be delivered soon. My question is do I have to enter the US through the same location I mentioned in the DS-260 application, or I can travel to any state I want.
September 14, 2019 at 15:39
Anywhere.
September 14, 2019 at 15:37
Hi.
I saw on videos that except on my email, i might get a notification letter by KCC on the website, so I can see there too.
Which website did you mean, the one I saw I am selected or the one i applied for Ds260 form?
Im not familiar with short phrases of theses websites, so I would like to know please
September 14, 2019 at 15:45
The ESC page is where you saw you were selected.
September 14, 2019 at 15:47
Hi Britsimon. I hav read FAQs , watched videos you have published, public charge informations, every single day follow your link. I am a single amputee( left leg above knee) If i present I-134 form at interview. Will that totally avoid for being a subject of a public charge. Or do you have any more advice for me.
September 14, 2019 at 16:06
2020AS390X from Nepal.
September 14, 2019 at 17:06
No the subject of public charge cannot be “totally avoided” by an I-134. There are other concerns that increase risk of being a public charge, so for instance a medical report from the physician could say someone is a habitual drug user, and that can cause a disqualification on public charge grounds. Nothing to do with finances.
So for your case specifically, I suppose your concern is whether your amputee status (which they would term a disability) would cause a concern. That really is up to you to show. Some people are disabled by disabilities, some people aren’t. Show yourself to be the latter type and it shouldn’t make any difference to you in terms of public charge. If you insist on describing yourself as a professional soccer player, then that might give concern. If on the other hand you earn a living in a way not affected by the amputation, then it makes no difference at all. So – show yourself to be self sufficient and unaffected by the amputation and this should not be a concern.
September 15, 2019 at 01:42
Thanks Britsimon. Your reply had made me more clear. Well, i donot depend on any disability benefits, nor i am involved in any kind of disabled organization. I am working in Non Governmental organization; also left an opportunity to participate in volunteer exchange program( i had to be in overseas for a year) because i was selected in EDV. I mean to say i am self dependent now and will be on future. I walk properly, travel in public transport and do all my work on my own. Is this kind of true answer only is enough in interview to avoid myself as a subject of public charge. Thanks.
September 15, 2019 at 02:32
I answered completely – now it is up to you.
September 14, 2019 at 18:28
Hello,
I left a comment but couldn’t find it to see the answer.
I left a comment on another post and would like to delete it since it’s coming up when I look up my name in google. I sent you two emails about it, how can I contact you to get it removed ?
Best,
Fanny

If it was the one that had your full name – I deleted that just now.

Hello britsimon
Please i want to know when the 2021 dv lottery will be available..
Thank you…
September 14, 2019 at 21:58
Dear Simon,
I arrived in the US for the first time about two months ago, just for a couple of days to have an on-site interview. Of course, I had no time to register with SSS, as I could not even get my SSN in 2 days I was there. Unfortunately, even though a GC arrived pretty quickly (2-3 weeks), a social security card has not still (almost 2 months). I was told that SSN is essential to register with SSS. I tried to call Social Security, but they told me that I must come in-person to solve this issue. And even if I did receive the SSN, sss.gov is unavailable outside the US.
When I arrive in the US for the second time, for good, it will be a bit more than 3 months after the first entry. Should I worry about SSS? Should I try to call them and explain the situation? Or go to my local embassy? Or sorting it out in a couple of days as soon as I arrive is enough, and there is nothing to worry about?
Thanks!
Best,
Max
September 14, 2019 at 22:02
SSS is not a problem.
Just get the SSN sorted out.
September 14, 2019 at 22:17
Dear Simon,
Thanks! So, even though I arrive in more than 3 months after the initial entry, I do not have to worry about it now, and I just sort out the SSN issue right away as I arrive, register with SSS immediately after that, and I am totally fine, correct? 😉
Best,
Max
September 14, 2019 at 22:21
Yes
September 14, 2019 at 22:22
Dear Simon,
Awesome, thank you for your help!
Best,
Max
September 14, 2019 at 22:23
Good evening everyone, I’m still in administrative procedure (AP) since September 03 it’s 11 days now nothing as a sign. In addition to September 30 is the end of the DV is too stressful. My documents are complete unmarried. thank you
September 15, 2019 at 02:11
Bro it is not because you are single will make the CO to speed it. Some couple are in the same situation and some single also. So as he said all you have to do is to wait; keep consulting your mail everyday till the end. Good luck anyway
September 15, 2019 at 07:42
Hey Brit , thank you for your patience with us answering all the questions
My case number is pretty high 2020EU00052xxx and we’re in October already , and I haven’t receive any emails from kcc to ask for further documents .. now should I take my mind off from the interview is there any change to get the interview?
September 15, 2019 at 15:02
It’s September 2019. The DV2020 process starts in October 2019 and will end a year later, you have a long time to wait. Learn some patience.
September 15, 2019 at 09:18
Hello Mr. Brit
If I submitted ds260 and I will submit the required documents after 3 months
Is it a problem?
September 15, 2019 at 15:07
No
September 15, 2019 at 09:31
Hello Sir
Based on your analysis and the suppose that Dv2020 is not affected by other unexpected conditions, based on my cn (EU48***) and my country (Albania) when do you think that interview is more likely to happen ? Or it is hard to predict smth about this range of numbers ? Thank you for your commitment.
September 15, 2019 at 15:08
Yes it is hard to predict, but check the archive for predictions I explained in July.
September 15, 2019 at 11:49
When you are in AP is it necessary to write embassy remind them about your case or it is not necessary to write them?
September 15, 2019 at 15:11
Not necessary.
September 15, 2019 at 12:19
Dear Mr Simon Hi,
I read your website information and thank you for helping us! I would like your help please. I went 23 September 2018 to US for 4 days, activated my green card and returned back. Now I will arrive and stay permanently in United States – if I arrive in United States on 22 or 23 September 2019 in United Sates, is it okay?
With family issues I couldn’t go to United States earlier, but now I am ready. Green card says is valid from 23 September 2018, when i entered United States.
Thank you in advance sir. Your opinion, knowledge and experiences from other people you know, for this, is important. Best regards, Kerry
September 15, 2019 at 15:13
At least plan to arrive no later than the 22nd – but you may be asked to explain why you were out so long. Just be honest.
September 15, 2019 at 18:21
Thank you Mr Simon. A last question if you can help me sir: i need a very important reason to pursuade them? Or just tell the truth?
Thank you very much sir. I am anxious and i don’t want to have problems for this at airport.
September 16, 2019 at 02:39
Just remain calm and tell the truth. Don’t make up lies.
September 15, 2019 at 12:43
Hi Brit,
Could you please provide me with any websites you may know for cheap rent in New York? I know the rent is still high there, but if you know a particular website or place where I could find to live, after moving to the US with the gc, would be very helpful.
Thank you,
Mohamed
September 15, 2019 at 15:14
I don’t know of any such site. Use google, but be careful of places you find – there are lots of scammers out there.
September 17, 2019 at 18:37
Thank you Brit. In US, do you know popular websites they use for cheap rent or sharing apparents, like airbnb?
Your knowledge is very helpful. Thank you again.
September 15, 2019 at 13:40
Hellow brit greetings from Nepal.
I got my mail from KKC regarding document request. They asked for following documents
*)Police certificate
*)Birth certificate
*)passport
and i have sent them all documents and my question is
In our country police certificate is only valid for 6 months and my police certificate which i have sent them was issued on April 8 2019 and is only valid till october 8 2019.
*Is this thing a problem .
* Can it cause any delays.
* If it is a problem any suggestions.
September 15, 2019 at 15:15
Send what you have. You will have to get a newer police cert nearer the interview.
September 15, 2019 at 13:46
hi,Brit,
How we take an appoinment time form US embassy Kabul.
Kcc siad you must go to US embassy Kabul to get a new case number.
And Emassy says that we do not issue an appoinment time for you untik KCC call us.
September 15, 2019 at 15:16
If you are a DV winner you have a case number. When your case number is current (assuming you have send your DS260 and documents) you will be scheduled.
You obviously haven’t taken any time to learn the process. If this is important to you, do that.
September 15, 2019 at 15:07
My number is 2020af 00002xxx
September 15, 2019 at 15:48
Dear Mr. Simon
Thanks a lot for your cooperation kindly I have question.
My case number :2020AF 00002xxx
I reopened my DS 260 to change some data.
Many people told me Harry up and close and when KCC asking for documents send it immediately
But I want to delay for 3 or 4 months
What is your opinion to delay closing of DS260?
Or
Delay submition of documents?
Thank you in advance.
September 15, 2019 at 16:32
You can delay with no problems. Once you submit documents you will be scheduled very soon after. So – if you prefer a delay, don’t send documents yet.
September 15, 2019 at 16:38
Thank you so much. God bless you
September 15, 2019 at 17:18
Hi BritSimon, thank you for all your work! I’ve re-opened my DS260 to make some changes, and have couple of questions:
1. In DS260, for question “Have you ever served in the military?”, should I answer yes or no, as during my college I had 3 months of military courses (in my country it is an alternative for serving 1 year, if you are college student), during which I learned military strategy and got military rank of sergeant in reserve. It wasn’t a real serving, it was an additional class that I took.
2. For question “Do you have any specialized skills or training, such as firearms, explosives, nuclear, biological, or chemical experience?”, should I answer yes or no, as during these military courses I hold a firearm and fired from it at the training ground just once in my life.
I do have Military Records (an official document I was given), but it doesn’t mention either unit or period of serving. If you could advise me on that, I would greatly appreciate your help.
Best,
Serge
September 16, 2019 at 02:38
1. Sounds like you should answer yes.
2. Again, answer yes.
September 16, 2019 at 15:28
Thank you Simon for your answers. Just to clarify:
1. Could it be considered some kind of potential threat or it is normal question, and I don’t need to worry about?
2. In one of the pages of my military records it is written “In armed forces didn’t do military services”. Is it still considered that I have military services or not?
Sorry for bothering you, but would be great to hear your opinion. Thanks!
September 16, 2019 at 17:27
Just answer the questions. Don’t overthink it.
September 16, 2019 at 17:50
Thanks!

Good day Brit,
I had my interview on 15/9/2019 (2019AS0000—-) and the officer kept our passports and said everything appears to be in order and that our application is accepted. Then, I had to double check with him to make sure that I could leave Baghdad embassy and he said there is one more thing that I need to do; he handed me a yellow 221 g form and asked me to answer the seven questions about my employment history, phone numbers, family members and etc and email them back to the embassy. The form didn’t have my name or case number on it. They still have our passports and the status check shows ready for interview. Any thoughts? Thanks for your help
September 16, 2019 at 17:12
Did you complete the form? It is important you do that asap.
September 16, 2019 at 18:23
excuse me mr brit simon
Abdullah when you send back this form to embassy you should include your full name, date of birth, case number in the email so they will know you
September 17, 2019 at 15:21
Yes, if you delayed it you will loose a chance. At your place I will send it the same day
September 16, 2019 at 07:31
Hi Brit, I am from Nepal and I submitted my DS260 and gave birth to new baby this week. To add her and complete the DS 260 do I need her passport now or I can complete the DS260 with out passport. Appreciate your expertise.
September 16, 2019 at 17:14
You can complete the DS260 using the parents passport, but you should change that to the child’s own passport asap.
September 16, 2019 at 09:28
Hi brit
What education documents we have to show at embassy , like bachelor degree certificate or high scool certificate only ? Or we also have to give all transcripts and and results ? Just certificates will be enough ?
September 16, 2019 at 17:20
Please. Read the instructions. If you don’t you will miss something.
September 16, 2019 at 17:27

September 16, 2019 at 17:24
Patience.
September 16, 2019 at 13:57
Good morning
Dear simon,I have thoroughly read your posts and you have a fine blog let me tell you that.I read your FAQ’s and additional info ,and this is what I gather on how to interpret the visa bulletin.I want to know whether Iam right or not
1.the number shown next to each area refers to case numbers that will be processed, not number of applicants that will receive 2NL
2.Higher case numbers will receive later on the year their 2NL,regardless of they completed their process and some lower case numbers have not
Coil you please tell me if I got it right?
Thanks Sir
September 16, 2019 at 17:26
1. Correct.
2. I don’t know what you are trying to say.
September 16, 2019 at 17:32
Buenas tardes, quisiera saber si la condición de” cálculos renales”,es causal para negacion de visa de la diversidad?

dear sir
greetings
i have activated my visa last august and come back to origin country few days ago, im planing to go back to us next july, to get house, insurance, open bank account etc, in the same time i will ask re-entry permission for 2 years because of the following reasons which are all real:
1- i need my son to finish secondary school in his current school in origin country.
2- my parents are sick and they need health control and checking regularly, i’m doing this for them.
3- my wife is goverment employee and government are not gives permission to leave country, the process will take long time.
4- i have contract with my work till 2023, as per contract terms and conditions, i cannot terminate it for the reason of living in another country.
are the above reasons will help me to get re-entry permission.?
September 17, 2019 at 03:52
Well first, you can only apply for a re-entry permit from inside the USA.
Second – I don’t know what explanation they will accept – just make sure you tell the truth.
September 16, 2019 at 18:37
Hi BritSimon
Hope you are doing well,
My name in all documents as Abdullah Qasim Abdo Ben Abdo and in my passport as Abdullah Qasem Abdo Bin Abdo
And in my ds260 as Abdullah Qasem Abdo Bin Abdo.
For example If you have a look into my
passport you’ll find Qasem with E And Bin With i
If you have a look into my documents you’ll find Qasim with i and Ben with E
Is that will effect the delay or rejection ?
Many thanks in advance

Sir my sister and her husband are in AP since june(her, husband and son), but they wanted now the kid to join them later date because he is very rude now and they are afraid to loose control on him there.
1-Can she tell the embassy they want to leave him here now till a later date?
2-Do you think it won’t be a problem?
