Hi, I was asked to submit additional documents after the interview. And after I submitted, there was an date updated in CEAC for both applicants, I think it means the document got into consulate. And yesterday I found there was an date updated again for principle applicant, but not for derivative applicant. Do you have an idea what it might mean? How long it may take from AP to issue? Thank you!
September 26, 2019 at 03:58
I don’t know what it means.
The processing ends on Monday, so if not issued by then, it won’t go any further.

Hi Britsimon
I was granted a greencard in June 2018 and flew to the US in November 2018 to “activate” my PR status. Since then my partner has given birth to our child and we still live abroad (she and my son are not on my GC). I would like to extend the time I can live outside of the US to the absolute maximum, because I still want to make use of it and go live there at some point. Just difficult at this exact moment and to figure out a way of taking my family with me.
Do you have any advice on how to get an extension and not lose my GC?
Thanks a lot for all the great help and I look forward to your reply 🙂

September 26, 2019 at 10:23
Hi Simon,
Is there any chance for this case # 2020AS000287XX to be interviewed by June 2020? Otherwise, When do you expect that will be?
I know it is a high case number but you are the one and only that can help and give accurate statistics
September 26, 2019 at 14:20
Neither I nor anyone else be that precise.
September 26, 2019 at 19:02
I didn’t mean to be precise.
Just tell me your expectation for the time of the interview if you can.
September 27, 2019 at 00:20
Wait and see.
September 27, 2019 at 03:06
If I am undocumented in the US can I enter the DV lottery
September 27, 2019 at 23:30
You can enter. The question is – can you process. Well – you would have to leave the USA, and depending on how long you have been there you may have a ban. If so – that would cause a problem.
September 26, 2019 at 12:01
Dear Simon
Regarding affidavit of support is it Compulsory to present resent Payslips of the sponsor along with I-134 form, 1040 & W2
Thanks
September 26, 2019 at 14:20
and dear Simon
In my case my sponsor is bachelor and GC holder, sponsoring to myself , spouse and child would be an issue when he sponsoring to someother one (His/her parents) who wish to visit US
September 26, 2019 at 14:23
It varies by case.
September 26, 2019 at 15:45
Thanks for the reply.. that sounds like there is a risk for the sponsor when he try to sponsor another one while sponsoring us…
September 26, 2019 at 19:00
Hey Brit, the KCCDV emailed me yesterday that my unlock request is complete and today they’ve emailed me that my DS-260 has been processed and so I should submit my documents. I am 20Af19,3**
I don’t know what to do next;
1. Revise and submit immediately the ds-260 and the documents.
2. Submit and relax for a while.
NOTE: they stated that the delay will delay my case and interview.
3. Isn’t it risky to marry immediately after divorcing? Or I should just tell them I’m divorced then marry after interview?
With Gusto
September 27, 2019 at 00:19
You need to decide what to do.
September 26, 2019 at 12:24
Hey Simon,
I’m a british citizen (born in an eligible country, so were my parents), but I did’nt do my A-levels because of personal and social issues. I am now 22 almost, and I want to try for the next years DV Lottery.
My question is, would an Access to higher education diploma be accepted, since it takes the same length of time to complete and it is equivalent to 3 A-Levels? It’s the only thing I can afford, honestly. Thank you!
September 26, 2019 at 14:27
No. That is like the USA GED, which is excluded…
September 26, 2019 at 13:05

Hi Mr Simon have a friend that got his visa along with his wife , he changed their address but they only changed for him and his wife got the old address. My questions is what will happen to their green card where will they deliver it since they have two different address as the embassy only changed one?
September 27, 2019 at 00:17
I don’t know exactly what will happen.
September 26, 2019 at 19:00
Hello Mr Brit, I entered DV with my child and won and had to upload her birth certicate in order to create a ds260 for her. I made a mistake and uplaod the wrong birth and as result, I panicked and fill the wrong information so that it will corresponding to the wrong birth certificate on my child’s ds260. That means I lied on my child’s ds260. However, they didn’t reach our case number that year.
My question is- if I enter this year’s DV and win and upload the right document and fill the right information on ds260 which is different from the one I filled last time, will I be disqualified because of my past mistake?
Thanks
September 27, 2019 at 00:18
I don’t know.
September 26, 2019 at 20:05
Hi Brit,
My case no. Is 2020AS26xxx but i was born in Egypt (AF) and i live in Saudi Arabia (AS) and my spouse was born in Kuwait (AS)
Actually it was my mistake choosing Saudi Arabia instead of Egypt in the first Registry form so, do you think i have any chances to pass the embassy interview?
Thank you in advance.
September 27, 2019 at 00:21
There is some chance of approval, and some chance of denial. It will depend on the CO.

September 26, 2019 at 22:53
Hi Brit.
Just a quick query. The $330 that we pay during the interview is paid in the currency of that specific region or in USD?
Thanks
September 27, 2019 at 23:23
Either.
September 26, 2019 at 23:32
Hi Brit myself my wife and three children went for dv visa interview in 2017 but we were refused because of labour certification. Now If I decide to enter dv 2021 alone this time around as single
1. If I win and go for interview will there not be a problem since I have won together before with my family.
2.if I win the next dv lottery and this time around I decide not to submit some certificates that I presented in the last 2017 interview will the consor not raise concern about that previous certificate?
September 27, 2019 at 23:25

For an Iranian, earlier is better.
September 27, 2019 at 07:16
Does it often happen if a green card for family member are mailed at first? My husband won the lottery and we thought that we will receive our SSN and green cards together. However, I’ve received my SSN and green card already but he hasn’t.
September 27, 2019 at 23:32
Wait a few days, then call USCIS.
September 27, 2019 at 08:00

September 27, 2019 at 09:47
Hello Simon!
I have a few interesting questions for you! The questions are; Can I apply together with my best friend that means more to me than a family member? Is that possible? Can I put him like a family member or just write down “Friend” or would that be a big mistake? If noone of that is possible, can you please tell me what would be the best chance for both of us to get the Green Card together? Or do we really have to apply seperately?
I hope you answer all my questions precisely and helpfully and I’d like to take this chance to thank you for everything and keep up the good work!
once again have a wonderful day,
with Kind regards
-Marin Petrović
September 27, 2019 at 23:34
1. No you cannot enter wit your friend.
September 27, 2019 at 10:25
And Simon I would also like to ask you me and my friend have both dual citizenships. Also the Bosnian and Croatian ones. Mainly we were born in Bosnia. My question to you now is: My friend has only the Croatian passport and he doesn’t have the Bosnian one. But he has a Bosnian ID card! So will that also result in a problem since it is needed to give a birth country passport? Can he do it with the Croatian one too or the Bosnian ID card? Please help!
September 27, 2019 at 23:37
No friends.
September 27, 2019 at 11:03

September 27, 2019 at 12:21
Hello simon !
One who is ready to sponsor me is unknown for me (Till the date)
I am planning make him as a family friend sponsor .
He is the friend of my brother in law( as my brother in law has some problem to be sponosored me)
He is positive on me and my question is that if the CO tells me show the relationship between me and the sponsor ,I have no proof (No chat no photos not any talks ) with the sponsor .but he has strong relation with my own brother in law.
Is it okey? Or need to change another one?
I don’t have that idea what to do or not .
With best regards !
September 28, 2019 at 04:17
If asked – explain the exact truth. It should be OK.
September 27, 2019 at 12:24
Hi Simon and thank for your efforts to keep us informed.
I have a situation. am planning to apply for the DV2021, therefore, this morning I went to the Passport services in my country to apply for a passport.
I had all the paperwork required, excepting a Passport that expired in 2005, which I can’t find.
The officer said that one way of sorting this out and getting a new passport would be to declare the old one as lost, however, for this matter I will encounter difficulties when attempting to visit the US. The Americans don”t like seeing such a record.
What is your stance on this? Do you think this could, indeed, affect the whole process, in case I get selected?
Thank you in advance for your help!
September 28, 2019 at 04:19
Its not a problem.
September 27, 2019 at 13:18
Hi, i had lost one of my old passports with a US visa but both visa and passport was expired so i answered the ” Have you ever lost us visa?” question as ‘no’ in ds-260 because I thought they referring a valid visa. Should i resubmit my form or can i just notify them in the interview? Thank you.
September 28, 2019 at 04:21
No need to change the form.
September 27, 2019 at 13:25

September 28, 2019 at 04:21
No
September 28, 2019 at 06:13
Should I then ask the US embassy in Kenya to send the documents to me or how do we go about it?
September 28, 2019 at 14:50
No – you don’y need a form. You will just pay online for all of you.
September 27, 2019 at 14:07

September 27, 2019 at 18:45
Hi Apande, Why they asked you to get another sponsor if you don’t mind?
September 28, 2019 at 05:50
Well my sponsor’s income was slightly below the poverty guidelines so she was not in a position to sponsor me
September 29, 2019 at 01:27
Thank you!
September 28, 2019 at 06:16
Hey Apande. I also had DV interview with my family on the 12th September (day after your’s ?). They also asked we bring additional sponsor documents, which we did. Am glad to announce that we have been granted the Visa and now we are working on migrating in the next few weeks.
September 27, 2019 at 17:16
Hi Brit, wow…not sure if the new passport rule will gong me out completely, can you confirm please. I was born in Zimbabwe but emigrated to South Africa at 5 yrs of age where I still have citizenship, however my mom is British and she applied for a British passport for me when I turned 18. I have never had a South African passport, but I do have dual citizenship with SA and UK, and my birth certificate from Zimbabwe. I am currently living in the USA under an H1b visa. This would have be my 9th try for the DV Lottery, any chance at all?
September 28, 2019 at 04:27
You have a chance. Enter Zimbabwe

September 27, 2019 at 20:12
Hey, simon I have a question about the country I should chose for the application. I was born in Ivory coast but I don’t have the nationality but my dad is from there instead I have the nationality From Gabon wich is my mom’s country and where I lived most of my Life. Shoud I choose Ivory coast or Gabon ? Please keep in mind that I might not be able to get a birth certificate from ivory coast and my passeport was delivered by Gabon
September 28, 2019 at 04:31
Ivory coast, but you may have a problem if selected…
September 28, 2019 at 19:46
But if I can prove that my mom is from Gabon therefore I am gabonese by her, can I choose Gabon. Plus my passeport being gabonese is not going to pose a problem if I choose Ivory coast ?
September 28, 2019 at 19:53
I already answered. Country of birth is what is important.

Your legal name.
September 27, 2019 at 21:38
Hi Brit. I entered twice but were unsuccessful. Both my children were adopted. I entered both their detail on both entries. It was nowhere stated that that the adoption date needed to be more than 2 years prior to entry. Do you think this could have resulted in unsatisfactory results? What should I do if the entry date is not more than 2 years after the adoption, leave that child off my entry? Finally, if you were unsuccessful, do they “overturn” results when there are many fall outs, or do they just issue less visas? I will appreciate your feedback. Thanks for the informative video. Eddie
September 28, 2019 at 04:36
You adopted children should be on the entry.
Some years are underfilled.
Number questions.

September 28, 2019 at 06:49
Hi Brit
If i add all my children on my entry how does it work if they will not be moving with me and will be staying where they are now (should we win)
Will we need to get them passports and so forth?
I have scanned trough you FAQ but dont see anything about that
September 28, 2019 at 14:51
If they are not moving you will not need anything for them, but you must list them
