Hi Simon
Thanks for your dedication and time in giving us valuable information.Quick question if someone had a removal notice from USA and they voluntarily went back to their native country before the removal date with that affect their winning lottery if selected. The person has been in their country for 4 and half years.June 2020 will make five years.
October 24, 2019 at 16:14
I don’t know. Enter the lottery and see if you get selected. If you do – we can talk more.
October 24, 2019 at 13:04
Hello Brit.
Could you be having any link of people who were successful with the dv program when they had no travel history at all. Iam a new passport holder and i have applied for the dv lottery 2021 and I’ve been looking around google to see if i could find some people who got a US Visa despite the fact that they have never moved out of their country of origin before.
Maybe you can create a thread for people who got a us visa with a clean passport to share their success stories, this could clear the air for someone.
October 24, 2019 at 16:15
There is no need for a special link or article for that. It is OBVIOUSLY not a problem. No one has suggested that having a travel history is required.
October 24, 2019 at 13:28

October 24, 2019 at 16:18
Yes – based on where you will interview.
October 24, 2019 at 14:42
Hi Brit,
Is it ok to have someone who is not a u.s citizen but a tax payer already in u.s to issue me with the i-134 form instead of my sponsor in the ds-260 form?
October 24, 2019 at 16:20
Yes
October 24, 2019 at 16:14

Hi Brit .is there any other dv lottery than this:dv lottery.state.gov???coz after entering dv 2021 I received an email address which was asking me to enter the dv green card that ends last Sunday 20th.I’m also wondering how did they get my email address and names plz clear me up on this plz
October 24, 2019 at 21:53
The address I quoted is the ONLY official site.
October 24, 2019 at 18:26
Ok Thanks Brit, Suppose I Won What If I Fill Ds 260 Form Marred Before 2nl?
October 24, 2019 at 21:56
Telling the truth later doesn’t alter the fact that you lied originally – and you will still be disqualified.
October 24, 2019 at 18:44
Hey Brit, I just submitted my DV 2021 but while doing so, I got two website crashes, the first one going to the second page and the second one when I pressed the “Submit” butten as I was all done, both times had to refresh and start the form from scratch. Im affraid the time that i pressed the “Submit” button and crashed counted as an entry and me doing it all over again and finally getting the confirmation screen counted as another one and might get me disqualified.
October 24, 2019 at 22:08
If you had read the instructions you would have read this:
23. I hit the “Submit” button, but did not receive a confirmation number. If I submit another
entry, will I be disqualified?
If you did not receive a confirmation number, your entry was not recorded. You must submit another entry.
It will not be counted as a duplicate. Once you receive a confirmation number, do not resubmit your
information.
October 24, 2019 at 19:25
Thanks Mr Simon For Your Efforts Suppose I Win, 1) My Spouse And Children In Ds-260 Form I Fill To Accompany Me Later Will Be Possible? 2) Medical Exam Will Be Examined Together? 3) During Interview Will Be Together? 4) She Is Not Finished High School Will Be Disqualified? Please Clarify To Me.

Hey mr simon . I won 2020 but i have big number so , can I participate this month for the 2021 or its wrong and also they send me email from kcc for sending them documents thank u
October 24, 2019 at 22:12
You can enter DV2021 with no risk.
October 24, 2019 at 20:16
Hi Brit
Hope you are well. Thank you so much for all the time you put in to see that we get answers.
Mine is about the I-134, my sponsor has never filled this form is proposing to write an accompanying letter. Does this work? Has however forwarded the tax returns for two years. Please advise. Thanks and be blessed
October 25, 2019 at 03:43
Why create a risk? Just get the form completed.
October 25, 2019 at 04:37
Is the I-134 form just enough or the sponsor must necessarily attach tax documents and bank statement(s)?
I ask this because I see in the form questions about the sponsor’s total savings at the time of completing the form

October 25, 2019 at 06:07
Thanks for the quick response. My sponsors are a couple, should each of them fill the form I – 134 & the 1040 is joint. Please advise
October 26, 2019 at 01:52
One of them completes the I-134 for joint income.

October 25, 2019 at 03:44

2. Current address
October 25, 2019 at 07:41
Thank u so much, kip up the good work
October 24, 2019 at 22:04
Good Morning!
Mr.BritSimon, hopefully doing pretty good! Truly your work is highly appreciated.
Now, still on the issue of Police clearance certificates, I’m so worried since it has proved not to be working out in that, the reciprocity page, I googled it , I followed all steps but unfortunately, it seemed it’s only for Visas not for Police certificates esp.those Countries ie Iraq & Afghanistan in particular
In other words, someone must be in person to get one and of which, for my case, it’s impossible.
Please! Mr.BriSimon, what advice would you give me particularly on this issue?
Thank you so much!
October 25, 2019 at 03:50
You did not read well. If you had you would have seen police certs are not required for Afgahnistan. You would also understand how to apply for a police cert from Iraq. Please take responsibility for your own case!
https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Iraq.html
October 24, 2019 at 22:20
If you had read the instructions you would have read this:

Hello Simon,
I’d like to thank you for all your efforts. I have a few questions.
I have been selected for the DV 2020 for further processing and I came to the states this january to pursue my graduate degree. This means I am on an F-1 visa. Could you please tell me what I should do so I can adjust my status? I’m very confused because I contacted USCIS and the first time they told me to file I-485, then the second time they said to file I-539 since an F-1 visa is a non-immigrant visa.
I have already submitted a DS-260 and received an email telling me to contact USCIS to discuss further processing.
My case number is not current and should be current in January since it is from asia and low 6000s.
Please let me know if you need any information.
Thank you.
Abdul B

Please read the spreadsheet which is on the first post of the link below.
https://forums.immigration.com/threads/dv-2020-aos-only.340762/
October 25, 2019 at 20:57
I have went through this spreadsheet multiple time over already. If you go to
https://www.uscis.gov/greencard/diversity-visa#targetText=For%20an%20applicant%20to%20adjust,or%20Adjust%20Status)%3B%20and
it says:
Have an IMMIGRANT visa immediately available at the time of filing an adjustment application (Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status)
However, an F1 visa is a non-immigrant visa. Which means I am ineligible to file an i-485. Am I getting that correctly or no?
October 26, 2019 at 02:38
Pretty obviously people that already have immigrant visas don’t need another immigrant visa. So yes – you are confused and incorrect.

Dear Simon, while confirming interview appointment with local embassy, I used my phone to do that. Now my names appeared in small letters instead of capital letters as its suppose to be, I’ve tried to correct it but they they say I can’t except I want to counsel my appointment. Should I contact the embassy to correct it for me? Note that I have to print a copy to take to CO interview, thanks
October 25, 2019 at 03:56

Hi Brit
Me & my spouse already got our visa.my question is how much money we can move to USA ?
How much cash we can move to USA ? $10000 per each or total amount of $10000 for both?
October 26, 2019 at 01:51
$10,000 is per person, but it is unwise to carry that much cash. Read the FAQ about moving money.
October 25, 2019 at 05:22

Hi Simon, I’ve lived in the US for more than a year several times in the past. However, I am not currently living there. My question is, now that I’ve been selected for the DV lottery, do I require a police certificate from USA given that I have lived there for more than 6 months (on multiple occasions)? Is the US considered a foreign country? Or will they simply do a background check on my previous stays in the US and not require me to submit an official police certificate from US authorities?
October 26, 2019 at 01:54
No police certs required for the USA.
October 25, 2019 at 09:14

October 25, 2019 at 14:17
Hi so my husband-and I and 5 kids live in Canada his country of eligibility is Trinidad and we applied for 2021 lottery so are you saying we need almost 60-80k US in the bank plus 330$ per person if you win plus 220 for admin id approved person and 7 medicals paid also by us? how can a family afford all that? to prove we wont be a charge to the USA ? how can they expect that much when most of these entries are from third world countries? that doesn’t seem right and you meet the educational requirements
October 26, 2019 at 02:06
The fees are the same for everyone. As for the 60-80k in the bank – I don’t know why you are saying that – but on the other hand you have to realize that relocating to the USA is going to be costly. If you do not think you can afford it – you don’t have to go through the process. But this is the least expensive option to be able to live in the USA. The USA is a land with great opportunity, but I don’t think you should come expecting others to pay for you.
October 25, 2019 at 14:25
Hello sir i am a dv winner of 2020from AS region with 14k case number can i participate again in edv 2021 is there any risk??

October 25, 2019 at 14:31
HI,,I Have a problem about filling dv lottery 2021,and i dont know how to fix it.the problem is about passport information part.my passport expires in 2031 and it is a legal passport and it has visas inside it,,however when i write the expiration year to the green card form,,the green card does not accept it,,,i fill the form as it written in my passport but it is not accepted,,,and in the dv lottery site is also written in red capitals that the passport cant be valid more than 10 years,,,,but my passport is valid untill 2031 year.i am a citizen of a belarus….please help me
October 26, 2019 at 02:10
Since 2021 Belarus have been issuing 10 year passports. However, if you don’t want to get a new passport, enter a less year to get under the 10 years. That can easily be explained if you are selected.
October 25, 2019 at 15:05
