hi,
should the sponsor file an I-134 form for each family member of mine?
October 26, 2019 at 02:18
No. One form covers all your derivatives.
October 25, 2019 at 16:25
Hi brit
Massive thank you for your great work all the time
I would like to clarify something witch i recognized in my ds260 from as I reviewed it
1_ is it possible they added more questions after submission, because same questions wasn’t answered for me and my derivative as well ( wife and child) just to know questions are related to security and background.
2_do you think I should unlock the ds260 and give answers.
Thank you again,,
October 26, 2019 at 02:18
1. Yes
2. You can do that to avoid delay later.
October 25, 2019 at 16:52
Dear Mr Brit
My case number in dv2020 is high AF70XXX. Can I apply again in DV2021?
I asked this before, but I am confused because some one say it is not allowed in the same visa category.
Can I find any reference for that, I want to be sure because I don’t want to miss the chance.
October 26, 2019 at 02:21
Yes you can enter DV2021. Please – no need to keep checking. My answer won’t change!
October 25, 2019 at 17:29
Hi Simon,

October 25, 2019 at 17:54
Hello Sir,
I have question regarding Ds260, can you please make me clear about it.
1. Do you wish to provide information about your presence on any other websites or applications you have used within the last five years to create or share content (photos, videos, status updates, etc.)?
Yes
No
these are extra questions besides social media, so what to do here?
2. I don’t have DOB of parents, can I leave it?
3. I was previously employed in my home country but now I am in US, so is it essential to provide the employment information back to home country?
4. There is question like this”Have you traveled to any countries/regions within the last five years?
Yes
No”
I am here now in USA, if i do yes to the question then it does not give me the options of United States, can you please give your feedback on this?
5. I am now pursing my master in USA, so do I have to enter that information in the education section, I have not completed it yet?
Sorry, I can be irritating for you with these long questions, I appreciate your help.
October 26, 2019 at 02:26
1. Answer the questions honestly.
2. You can guess – choose January 1 of the year you think is most accurate.
3. It is essential to be honest as much as you can remember.
4. Think about OTHER countries only.
5. That would be under your CURRENT occupation then.
October 25, 2019 at 18:02
I tried to register many time. It says ‘Cannot reach this site’ sometimes on page 2 other times on last page.
1) Could it be because the site is too busy?
2) Even if the session is time out when DONE, unless a confirmation number is produced, it isnt a multiple entry right?
October 26, 2019 at 02:34
1. Yes.
2. Correct.
October 25, 2019 at 18:59

Hi Brit. I am a DV 2020 winner (2020AF56***), married with one child. I played together with my wife and child. I have a few questions that I’d love you to answer. Looking at my case number, I have not yet sent the DS-260 and regarding my financial strength, I’m still yet to decide if I should first travel and bring my wife and daughter later or I should leave with them. My derivatives do not have their passports yet and I’m afraid this may delay me in sending the DS and the documents.1) when would you advise me to send the DS-260 and the documents? 2) can I send the Ds-260 first and the documents later? 3) should I travel with my wife and kid or alone? 4) how much should my sponsor earn annually in both cases? Thanks for your help
October 26, 2019 at 21:41
1. Within the next 3 or 4 months is ok.
2. Yes
3. It is MUCH simpler going through the process together.
4. Read the FAQ please.
October 25, 2019 at 23:35
Simon,
In form i-134 there’s a a question in part 2 on information about beneficiary. Question 4 asks of A.number if any, pls what is A.number

October 26, 2019 at 02:26
Hi sir
Im DV2020 winner, i knew that form the email i got on october 10th. Before that i didn’t check. Now im collecting the documents which are need for the Ds260 form. Is there any problem because of i didn’t send the form on that period i think may/june

No problem.
October 26, 2019 at 03:05
Hi,
I was watching your video on youtube and something there took my attention. It was about commiting an immigration froad.
24 years ago i just applied through an agent.
He said to me the info and I’ll send the application. I didn’t win. But he said I’ll fix it.
You know the winners send second time the wholl info too continue the process.
He send my info. Filling up the application with a fake identification number like I was a winner.
Later i got a leter from visa center like saying that “we do not have you in the file as a winner”. There should be some mistake or something, i don’t remember exakt.
I was not aware at all what was going on at that time, ’cause I didn’t know what that agent did. Later I learned what happened
So my question is:
Do you thing I’m banned for life not to win, and consecuently my wife too?
I leave in Canada, canadian citizens, albanian descent, and I’m a truck driver equiped with a fast card, which is considered a privilage.
Pass the border to US every day. Having a fast card that means that I’m vetet.
October 26, 2019 at 03:13
I do NOT think you are banned for that.
October 26, 2019 at 03:37
Hi
Afghanistan does not require police certificate so please let me know if that’s true.
October 26, 2019 at 04:18
Read the reciprocity page.
October 26, 2019 at 06:46
Hey there Simon,
First of all, I want to thank you for your support and responses. It’s really appreciated.
I want to ask if I have to choose high school, no degree or high school diploma, if I’m getting my diploma in March 2020.I guess you get your number around august. What’s the wise thing to do? And saying high school no degree does affect the whole application
October 26, 2019 at 18:36
Tell the truth as that is now.
October 26, 2019 at 06:55
Hello Brit. I played alone, I want to play with my mother too since I’m 17 years old. will I be disqualified

October 26, 2019 at 08:16
Hello Simon
What’s up with the new insurance rule?
I’m DV2020 case EU00046*** and I know that I shouldn’t be worried about anything since it’s too early for me to even think about the interview, but anyways, just would like to get some analysis on the new rule
Thank you for everything you do for us dude, I really appreciate your efforts
October 26, 2019 at 18:38
I will publish an article/video about that shortly.
October 26, 2019 at 08:23
Dear Britt,
I have a request regarding doc. sending.
In our country the police certificate must be sentautomatically to the embassy,so i sent it through post 2 days ago and they gave me a coupon of payment.
Is it a problem if i send the remaining docs on Monday and do you think i should attach this coupon in the email too?
Thank you in advance!
October 26, 2019 at 08:29
Ckemi Joni,
What number are you?
Have you done the military certificate?
October 26, 2019 at 18:39
Yes, attach the coupon.
October 26, 2019 at 11:55
Hi
1. Can you tell me is I 864 accepted at interview because my sponsor instead of I134 filled I864. He is a businessman with high total annual income and can cover me and my derivatives.
2. I dont know the process of filling the affidavit as my sponsor fills it but may I know please if 1 affidavit is filled, is there a long process to file another one? Should the first one be deleted somewhere like an office for immigration or something?
October 26, 2019 at 20:35
1. No. I-134 only.
2. You take it to the interview.
October 26, 2019 at 12:18
Dear Sir Simon !
Many thanks indeed for your precious support and your time!
I am dv 2020 winner cn eu11xxx
I asked kcc if they had sent me the email of scanned documents because i was afraid of having deleted it accidentally.
They replied to me to collect documents promptly. But i noticed a difference comparing to your example email of KCC. They email doesnt begin like : congratulations…..your ds 260 is proccesed or your application is approved etc…
My question is should i condsider this email as the email for submitting scanned documents eventhough it is a bit different from the standard email ?
This is the email i got from KCC:
Thank you for your inquiry.
Collect and submit your documents promptly. Your case will not be scheduled for a visa interview at a U.S. embassy or consulate until KCC has received and processed all required documents. Missing or illegible documents will delay processing of your case. If you cannot obtain a particular document, send a scanned or photographed explanation of why you cannot obtain the document, as an attachment, to [email protected], with your case number in the subject line. Diversity visas are numerically limited and there is no guarantee a visa will be available. Only a consular officer can determine, at the time of the visa interview, if you are qualified to receive a Diversity Visa.
In order to continue processing your case, all documents should be submitted as attachments to your email to ensure they are properly received. We ask that you use the following method to name and attach your files:
• Your DV case number;
• The full name of the applicant whose document you scanned; and
• The document name or form number.
For example:
2020AF00938653_John_Doe_Passport.pdf
2020AF00938653_Jane_Doe_Birth_Certificate.pdf
Use your case number as the subject of the email. The maximum email size is 30MB. If the total size of your attachments is larger than 30MB, send multiple emails using your case number as the subject of each email. Please send your documents for KCC review only after you have collected all of the required documents for yourself and all accompanying family members. Send documents only to the [email protected] email address.
Documents photographed or scanned with a mobile phone are acceptable, but every document must be fully legible. Illegible or incomplete documents must be re-submitted and will delay processing of your case.
You and each family member immigrating with you to the United States should collect the civil documents that are required to support your visa application.
Passport Biographic Page: You and each family member immigrating with you must submit a photocopy of the biographic data page of a currently valid passport. The biographic data page is the page with your photograph, name, date, and place of birth.
Birth Certificate: You and each family member immigrating with you must submit a scan of an original birth certificate or certified copy.
Marriage Certificate: If you are married, you must submit a scan of your original marriage certificate or certified copy.
Marriage Termination Documentation: If you were previously married, you must submit scanned evidence of the termination of EVERY prior marriage you have had. Your scanned evidence must be of an original or certified copy of one of the following documents: FINAL legal divorce decree, death certificate, or annulment papers.
Military Records: If you served in the military of any country, you must submit a scanned copy of your military record.
Police Certificates: If you are 16 years of age or older, you must submit a scanned copy of a police certificate from all countries you have lived. Please refer to travel.state.gov for more information.
Court Record: If you have been convicted of a crime, provide a certified copy of each court record and any prison record.
In order for the Kentucky Consular Center to assist with inquiries regarding a specific Diversity Visa (DV) case, you must provide the Principal Applicant’s full name, complete case number, and date of birth in the following format (MMDDYYYY) as entered on the original entry. Please remember that the Kentucky Consular Center does not have the authority to tell you whether or not your specific case will be disqualified. Only a consular officer can do that at the time of your visa interview. Do not send any paper documents to the Kentucky Consular Center.
They sent me this the same email twice.
Many thanks in advance !
God bless you sir !

It means the same thing. Stop worry about trivia.
October 26, 2019 at 13:54
I stayed in China for 5years. I left China 12 years ago and return home. The passport that I was using to enter and exit China is missing over 10years ago. Without that passport they cannot issue me a police clearance from China. Getting a police clearance from home will be ok?
October 26, 2019 at 20:41
Read the reciprocity page and follow instructions.
October 26, 2019 at 14:00
Dear Britt,
My case number 2020EU00018***. For passport change I delayed my submission of DS260. And today when I tried to submit it did not let me do it, only save changes that I can do. I checked every detail for any incompleteness but it was ok. Am I very late to submit? What kind of problems lead that situation?
Thank you.
October 26, 2019 at 20:42
You have missed something on the form. If male under 26 it is probably the selective service link.
October 26, 2019 at 14:56
Please Brits,am filling the credentials of my lady on 2019/2020 dvlottery.
And it requires I fill my passport details unless am exempt, but her exemption is not communist, stateless nor a waiver received from the secretary of state.
It’s just that she hasn’t applied for a passport,so in this case how do I make a selection on the exemption at B.
Thank you
October 26, 2019 at 21:30
You cannot enter for her then. Try next year.
October 26, 2019 at 16:45
Hello brit,
1/my address in ds260 should it be in English ? or in my official language (Arabic, French) ?
October 26, 2019 at 16:58
Hi Brit,
You do have to get married within 90 days after winning the dv lottery greencard (results are released), right? Told by my friend it should be the way.
October 26, 2019 at 21:31
Utter nonsense.
October 26, 2019 at 17:27
Hi, I’m looking to enter the lottery this afternoon. I was reading one of your post and you said that if someone meets the education requirements you don’t have to prove your work experience. I’m completing my degree next year. But between 2014 when I completed my high school education to 2019 I’ve worked for two years within that 5 year space period. I don’t want to lie, so in a case like my situation do I only prove my education requirements and leave out the work experience or prove the work experience hence the degree isn’t completed as yet. Or do I just state both my education achievement along with my work experience cause I’m still in school and I’ve worked already for 2 years. What do I enter?
October 26, 2019 at 21:33
It’s not necessary to prove anything to enter. Just enter, and stop overthinking.
October 26, 2019 at 18:06
Hello, so im trying to win the green card and i have 2 daugthers one is 28 years old and she is living her own life and the other is 14years old, im trying to win for me and my daughter who is 14. October 26, 2019 at 21:34

Hi Brit Simon. I have a question; my wife was denied entry into the US on her second trip in 2016 and her visa revoked due to information supplied to the authority that she was working during her stay on her first trip on a tourist visa. She applied for a visa again in 2017 and she was denied. We were not married both this time. Now I am one of the Winners of the DV 2020 from the Oceania, and I have listed my wife to immigrate with me. Will her earlier record affect our chance of getting a green card visa?
October 27, 2019 at 04:08
I don’t know.
October 27, 2019 at 01:48
Dear Simon,
I’m Sudanese living in Malaysia as a student, I issued a new passport at my embassy this year, At the embassy, they only took my info and establish the passport in Sudan (As usual) and send it back to Kuala Lumpur to be collected at the embassy.
Here is were I got confused: The place of issue in the passport is (KUALA LUMPUR) not (SUDAN)
So what should I choose in the DV Lottery application – in the section of COUNTRY/AUTHORITY OF ISSUANCE.
should I choose SUDAN or MALAYSIA.
thank you so much
October 27, 2019 at 04:06

Hello Mr. Brit,
I am in middle of submitting my DV2021 application and a bit confused with Chargeability thing for my wife who was born in Lahore city of Pakistan (ineligible country).
Myself being a main applicant, I was born in Saudi Arabia which makes our application eligible. So my question is that while entering the details of my wife in DV Application, Should I write her actual City of Birth which is Lahore ? Moreover, which country I should select for her as “Country of Birth” from the list ? Should i simply select “Saudi Arabia” as her Country of birth (which is in actual my birth country ) ? What is the appropriate way to select ” Chargeability / Changeability of spouse” .
Thank you
October 27, 2019 at 18:21
Q5: Country of birth = India.
Q6: Country of chargeability = Saudi Arabia.
October 27, 2019 at 08:20
Hi Simon,
Just a query regarding the marital status question. What happens if you are separated (but not court ordered) and don’t talk to the person etc and don’t have a photo to upload either. Is there a way around this or do you have a solution?
October 27, 2019 at 18:22
There is no way around this. If you cannot provide the spouse’s photo, you don’t enter.
October 27, 2019 at 08:51
Hello Simon,
Im 20 years old and hold a high school diploma.
Can I apply as a separate candidate as well as being included in both parents’ application?
Many Thanks.
October 27, 2019 at 18:22
Yes
October 27, 2019 at 09:38
Hi Sir,
Can I ask you if for the DV 2021 you can find out how many per each eligible country applied to the lottery? Italy, for example?
Not sure if you can, but as you are the guru of all this… thought to check 🙂
Thank you
Laura
October 27, 2019 at 18:26
That data will be published later, not now.
October 27, 2019 at 12:26

October 27, 2019 at 13:18
Dear Brit,
What I meant by my post of today dated 6.17am is that I used my phone to snap the picture. I modified to dv lottery size.
I had around 67kb. When I checked the properties, its showing date modified of today.. Its not showing DATE TAKEN. Instead its telling me that the photograph has no camera properties.
Thank you
Zac

Hi, i have tried to submit my DS5501 form online but on submission Im getting this error –
“An error occurred during a connection to dvlottery.state.gov. PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the web site owners to inform them of this problem.”
I have tried to submit a few times now and well within the specified time – also, I have tried in a few browsers including chrome and firefox with no luck.

Dear Brit,
I was selected in the 2020 DV Program and recently received an email saying that I have to provide police certificates from countries where I lived. Well I already lived in the USA in two different States ( for more than six months and I was older than 16). I don’t really know how to get a police certificate from the US. Is it the same what those background check websites can provide? Can you recommend any good solution?
October 27, 2019 at 18:39
Police certs are NOT required for USA

Two days ago I send an email with
the scanned documents to [email protected] and the next day the answer came and I realized I had sent them to the wrong address! I send it again at [email protected] but I don’t know now if this will penalize me because I sent them twice at two different addresses? Thanks in advance for your attention
