February 12, 2020 at 22:07

February 12, 2020 at 21:42

February 12, 2020 at 22:05
You can contact them if you want.
February 13, 2020 at 23:39
Sent mine 3 months ago, called them 4 weeks in, they have a standard response that basically says wait, clearly current cases are being prioritized.
February 12, 2020 at 21:46
Hello brit..
Im writing this on behalf of Eritrean DV 2020 selectee who are currently in Ethiopia with full Refugee status. As we heard and read as well, that people with dual citizenship will remain safe if they use their unbanned citizen. So as we are applying for Green Card using a refugee travel document 1. do you think we can be safe..? 2. Is there anything we can do to louder our voices so that the department State can hear us 3. Is there anything you can do or ask to whom it may concern on behalf of us.?
Thanks brit, there’s about 10 of is gathered in Ethiopia waiting for a solution.
February 12, 2020 at 22:07
1. No. That is not a citizenship/Passport as far as I am aware.
2. No.
3. No – sadly there is nothing you can do. Perhaps your government will fix the problems that caused them to get on the banned list – but that seems like a very small chance.
February 12, 2020 at 22:33
Another question..
1. Is it possible that the federal court can block the proclamation?
2. Is it possible that the Senate can block the proclamation if their vote # is higher.
3. Are they going to be given a chance to involve in the situation before February 22.?
February 12, 2020 at 22:51
1. It’s not likely since the ban on which Eritrea has been added was already challenged in the courts and allowed to go ahead.
2. That won’t happen. The senate is a Republican majority who would let this administration do anything.
3. No.
February 13, 2020 at 11:06
Dear brit, can u give us details about that
https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/us-house-committee-pushes-forward-no-ban-act-vote-congress
February 13, 2020 at 18:43
As the article says, the vote is likely to pass in the house, but fail in the senate. For the bill to become law, it needs to pass both houses AND be signed in by the President. So – whilst I am glad the issue is debated, trump and the Republicans are not going to capitulate on this policy cornerstone.
February 12, 2020 at 22:25
Thanks soo much sir for your videos, please I want to ask that. 1: The newly uploaded video u just did about the KFCC sending messages through email asking for reguirements documents,is it for people who applied in 2018 or which year please? 2: I applied for dv 2019,so when when can I check my result and when can I prepare for the interview incase I win? Thanks.
February 12, 2020 at 22:49
I think you are confused.
DV2019 ended in September 2019.
DV2020 is going on now – and this email was sent to people on DV2020.
DV2021 entry period was last October/November and winners will be chosen in May.
February 13, 2020 at 03:12
Hi Brit,
I’ve received my visa from the country (Australia)where am studying and I’ve a question. Is it okay if I go to Srilanka for 3 weeks and then go to the states or should I travel directly from Australia to the states??Thanks in advance.
February 13, 2020 at 04:16
Doesn’t matter where you enter from.
February 13, 2020 at 08:22
Hi Mr. Brit
I really appreciate for your reply in advance. Here are the questions: (2020AF26***)
1. Can my joint sponsor send me scanned I-864 after he signed them or he has to send them by mail to be valid to take them for the interview?
2. Can I just take only the address of a joint sponsor (I-864) to the interview so that the CO can access by himself(herself)?
February 13, 2020 at 18:26
You already asked very similar questions. Did you read my earlier reply???

February 13, 2020 at 19:35
Hello, I have a question about new public charge rule.
As far as I know, this new rule will definitely affects Dv winners who apply with AOS process after Feb24.
But how about the winners who are with CP process?
Is there any changes something like new documents need??
Thank you
February 13, 2020 at 23:25
No new documents for CP.
February 13, 2020 at 20:31
Hello Brit.
Pls it’s right to send the scanned documents of the affidavit of support I-134
February 13, 2020 at 23:26
The sponsor can scan and send to you – yes. You do not send that to KCC.
February 13, 2020 at 21:19

February 13, 2020 at 23:24
That’s weird, I had my DS-260 unlocked yesterday, they added a whole new section on Interview Location, of which you can change obviously.
February 14, 2020 at 00:04
hi alaa
WHAT IS your country?
where is your new section on Interview Location?
February 14, 2020 at 20:17
please Alaa, do you have a screen shot of this section please?
February 15, 2020 at 23:48
No, it’s always been there and you cannot chage the location by selecting from ds260.
February 14, 2020 at 00:31
Perhaps they want to wait to see if the embassy reopens. So – I think that means wait.
February 13, 2020 at 23:18
Hi Britsimon,
CN 2020AF67***
Is there any hope for me? Thanks
February 14, 2020 at 07:56
hello brit thank you for your support i have a question , when i send my document to the kcc i sent them by including my middle name(like; first name_middle name_last name_passport.pdf),so does it have a problem should i send them again?
February 14, 2020 at 19:04
Contact them and ask if you like.
February 14, 2020 at 10:14
Hi Brit, thanks for everything! My question is about family members: I’m principal applicant and winner, i have wife and daughter, can we arrive in usa in a different time? when we get visas i plan to enter the usa and after 3 or 4 months my wife and daughter will arrive. can we do it?
February 14, 2020 at 19:44
Yes – the principal must enter WITH or BEFORE the others. Then each person must arrive before their visa expiry date.
February 14, 2020 at 11:09
Good morning Mr.Simon, approximately, how many principal applicants participated in DV 2021?
February 14, 2020 at 19:44
I don’t know.
February 14, 2020 at 15:33
Hello Mr Brit can someone postpone an interview date and how?
February 14, 2020 at 19:49
Yes – by contacting the embassy. However, doing so creates a risk, so it is not recommended. This isn’t like a hairdressers appointment.
February 14, 2020 at 20:43
Hi Britsimon..!
In the official DOS website an article titled “Presidential Proclamation 9645 and Presidential Proclamation 9983”, the bold sentence in the middle of the article says:-
“No visa will be revoked pursuant to P.P. 9645 or P.P. 9983. Individuals subject to P.P. 9645 or P.P. 9983 who posses a valid visa or a valid travel document generally will be permitted to travel to the United States, irrespective of when the visa was issued”.
https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/presidential-proclamation-archive/presidential-proclamation9645.html
So a refugee, but a banned country citizens applying DV with a refugee travel document are safe after the Feb 21?
February 14, 2020 at 22:30
No. The proclamation list refugees in the USA as exempt.
February 14, 2020 at 21:05
I just sat for 2 hours waiting for my interview only to be told they have lost my A file and to go home.
Unbelievable.
Suggestions on what I should do now?
February 14, 2020 at 22:28
Wait for their next instruction I suppose.
February 15, 2020 at 07:21
Hi Brit.
Thank you for the good informstion.
I want to ask you what does sponsor mean?
By sponsor do you mean financial sponsor or the person where you go when you arrive in USA that you show in DS-260 FORM.
Thank you
February 15, 2020 at 15:15
Financial sponsor. It might be the same as the person who houses you to start with, or it might be someone else.
February 16, 2020 at 08:06
Hi Brit.
I have real estate. (House)
I also have a cousin living and working in USA.
They are 3 family members and we are 3 TOTAL 6.
His income is 50000$.
What do you advice? Which one is better to show as a sponsor?
Real Estate/Property or I-134?
Your advice is so valuable for me.
Thank you.
February 16, 2020 at 16:01
I134.
February 15, 2020 at 12:31
Hi Simon,
My Interview is on March 2nd, Me with my Spouse have done Medical yesterday, I (Main Applicant)
am okey and got my Medical Yellow Report today but my Spouse had minor scar in the Chest X-Ray so her medical report has been postpond to 2 months,
So will my Interview would be on the same date as on 2nd Letter and if that how will i be able to reschedule my Spouse Interview ?
and how to know on what date shall i reschedule ( for eg. maybe after 60 days or 65 days)?
February 15, 2020 at 15:12
You interview at the same time. So either postpone for both, or have the interview and she will be on AP pending the medical.
February 16, 2020 at 04:07
Thank you… we donot want to postpone the Interview ,So do we need to Inform the Embassy about the medical ? if yes then how to contact them?
February 16, 2020 at 15:59
No need to inform them.
February 15, 2020 at 15:41
Hellow brit regards from Nepal.
Came here again with some questions here.
1) What are the documents from sponsor that we take to interview.
2) My sponsor havent filled a question number 12 in i-34 form which asks for their age and how long they have been residing in USA. is this thing a problem to deal with?
3)After unlocking ds260 i got new confirmation page with new date than previous one . so which one we take to an interview both or new one?
February 15, 2020 at 16:30
1. Always read the FAQ! https://britsimonsays.com/all-about-public-charge-affidavit-of-support-i-134/
2. The form should be complete.
3. Either.
February 15, 2020 at 16:15
1=My brother Simon I would like to ask the question if once filled DS260 form but you to apply niv for any purposes they will never approve niv ????2=
Is this crime if filled ds260 once but never get another niv
3 = If i rewin green card again would they approved me ma visa because they denied twice niv ?
February 15, 2020 at 16:31
1. Not necessarily. It is a factor in the judging of an NIV, just one factor of several.
2. No.
February 15, 2020 at 17:21

hi brit
i have to send douments to kcc should i use my complete name or just first and last name for example
first name_middle name_last name_birhcertificate.pdf, or first name_last name_birhcertificate.pdf ?
February 18, 2020 at 20:46
https://britsimonsays.com/document-procedure-modification/
February 19, 2020 at 09:00
Hi britsimon
I have checked that article and you mentioned to write first name and last name example first name_last name_passport.pdf . But in KCC documents submission email they mentioned to write full name and that is the confusion i have because full name includes middle name too example .first name_middle name_last name_passport.pdf .
February 19, 2020 at 18:10
Either method will work.
February 15, 2020 at 18:04
Hi brit
My interview was on 8 jan. And my case went to ap after 21 days the embassy contacted with me on 30 jan to send my passport although my passport in the embassy since the interview. My question ❔ is it normal that i did not receive my passport with visa until now.
February 15, 2020 at 23:29
Yes.
February 15, 2020 at 18:13
Hello brit,
Kindly your advice on the bellow issue,
My full name is Selam Asnake kassa. Kassa is my surname, Selam my first name and Asanake is my father name. My concern is on the dv selected email it says Kassa Asnake Selam: but on my passport it stated as Kassa, Selam Asnake. Do you think this will be an issue for my case?
I use the name on the passport to fill DS 260.
February 15, 2020 at 23:29
No problem.
February 15, 2020 at 19:41
Hi Brit,
When should I expect my interview? I mean which month?
2020AF28500.
Thanks.
February 18, 2020 at 20:47
It depends when your documents were sent and processed.
February 15, 2020 at 19:45
Also,When can I send my affidavit of support to kcc? Or should I just wait and show it to the CO at interview?
February 18, 2020 at 20:47
At interview.
February 16, 2020 at 06:56
Hi Brit
Thanks for the help and everything you’re doing.
I won dv 2020 case number AF37XXX.
I’m 19 years old and I have 12300$ in liquid savings, do you think it’s enough or I need a I-134 too?
Appreciate your help sir.
Thanks
February 16, 2020 at 16:00
An i134 is always best.
February 16, 2020 at 17:51
Hi brit
Thanks for your answer
And what about if I really can’t have sponsor for I-134, do you think I still can make it?
(Because on your public charge post, you said for adults around 10000$ it’s ok)
Thanks sir
February 17, 2020 at 04:27
You could try…
February 16, 2020 at 13:05
Greetings sir, I wish to asked that since 4 weeks I sent my documents till now I ve not receive a message from you people.
February 16, 2020 at 16:03
Wait!
February 16, 2020 at 13:06
Hi Simon,
I have a question.
I have been selected, I went through the whole process, have done POE, and all is fine, we have LPR status (we dont have phisical green cards as they have been sent to the wrong address, so we will have re-apply for them). We are going to move to the US in two weeks. But, in the meantime our baby-daughter was born, she was not included in any forms, any DS260, because she is only 3 months old. What is the procedure for her to cross the US border? Can I apply for ESTA for her?
As always, thank you for you valuable reply in advance.
Kind regards,
Raf
February 16, 2020 at 16:04
No. Dont get an esta, she will be processed at the POE for a GC. Read the Faq.
February 16, 2020 at 13:31
Hello, I changed the passport entered in ds260. Do I need to unlock ds260. If I need to, will KCC process the ds260 again. And as long as I wait, will it be six weeks again
February 16, 2020 at 16:05
If you expect scheduling soon, no need to update the ds260.
February 16, 2020 at 13:31
Hi Dear Simon,
I was trying to ask you this question previously but in wrong way.
my question is when I was filling the ds-260 form I put my work experience from october, 2014 to may 2019. But my work experience at hand is from october,2014 to october 2018( about 6 months less than what I have applied to); and ofcourse that’s a 4 year work experience, plus to that I have completed grade 12(have certificate ), have completed Bsc degree(have orginal degree at hand). May the work experience be a concern any more sir??. thanx
February 16, 2020 at 16:06
No.
February 16, 2020 at 16:02
As my passport will expire on July 2020, i got a new one yesterday. Do you recommed to unlock my ds-260 and update the data or take both passports to the interview?
Knowing that i’ve unlocked the ds-260 one time before for media update.
By the way, my case number is AS28xxx
February 17, 2020 at 11:53
I think you missed my question
February 17, 2020 at 16:12
Either is fine. Unlock or dont. Personally I would unlock since the case number is high.
February 24, 2020 at 11:53
I did what you recommended me to do and asked KCC to unlock for passport update and i’m still waiting for thier reply.
Now after updating the passport data, shall i resend the documents again? knowing that i’ve already sent my documents on 22 October 2019 and got thier relpy as the below:
The Kentucky Consular Center ( KCC ) has received your email and is currently processing your documents ….
But till now i didn’t get the congratulations email.
1- Shall i send documents again or that is enough for the ones i sent?
2- Shall i contact KCC regarding my documents if they are satisfied with them or not?
February 24, 2020 at 20:35
Read this – particularly the update from today.

Mr. Simon I am a dv lottery winner in Iraq and as you may know that US embassy in Iraq is closed.
I am not scheduled yet for an interview but I wanted to transffer to Jordan. I called KCC by phone and asked them to transffer for me but they said that you can not transffer you should wait till your case will be scheduled then we send an email for you about that. But 2 of my friends had interviews in January but they could not do it because the US embassy was closed and KCC did not sent email for them in order to transffer their cases.
Can you get information about that please?
and will it make my interview late? that is why I wanted to transffer it before scheduling my case which will be interviewd for April in bulletin I am sure.
final question if I interview in Jordan must I fo my IOM test in JORDAN or I can do it in Iraq and acceptable in Jordan? thank you for you help
February 17, 2020 at 04:31
You will have to follow their instructions.
Medical in the country of interview.

February 17, 2020 at 14:56
Good day Brit’
Thanks so much for your continuous responses to questions asked relating to the procedures and processes of the program.
Kindly help me with the following below:
1. Checked 1NL on 24 May, 2019 and saw that i was selected and printed out.
2. Filled DS260 and submitted on 22 June, 2019
3. Further DV documents request from KCC on 16 October,2019
4. Requested documents from KCC was submitted on 19 October, 2019 and Automatic reply from KCC that documents has been received and are in further processing.
5. I received congratulations message from KCC on 17 January, 2020 and which states that all documents sent have been received and once my case number becomes current i will be notified through my email indicated in the DS260.
Now my case number has become current from the visa bulletin published for the month of February, 2020 and upto now i have not received any information from KCC regarding the 2NL to be schedule for interview.
Should i expect my 2NL in the month end of February, 2020 and expects a date for interview for the month of April, 2020?
Once again thanks so much.
February 17, 2020 at 16:14
Yes
February 17, 2020 at 15:21
Kindly excuse my manners there is an error which i supposed to correct
5. I received congratulations message from KCC on 17 January, 2020 and it states that all documents sent have been received and processed and once my case number becomes current i will be notified through my email indicated in the DS260 to check the CEAC STATUS.
My case number becomes current when January 2020 Visa Bulletin was published hoping that i will get my 2NL at the end of the same January.
But rather unfortunate, i did not receive any information from KCC for the 2NL. Should i expect it towards the end of February month and to be schedule for April or May interviews?
Is this the normal process by KCC?
Thanks so so much.
February 17, 2020 at 15:29
Hi Brit,
When should I expect my interview? I mean which month?
2020AF28500.
Thanks.
February 17, 2020 at 16:17
Silly question. You are already current, so your number is irrelevant. What matters is when you sent the documents and ds260.
February 17, 2020 at 17:00
I send ds260 in june 2019 and I send document january 9th 2020.
February 17, 2020 at 15:51
hi britt what document do you need from the sponsor after filling the affidavit of support
February 17, 2020 at 16:18
Read the faq please. Search my site using the search tool, for 134
February 17, 2020 at 17:11
Hello Bri, I am DV 2020 case 38xxx i submited since june 2019 my DS 260 withought sending any scan copy of any supporting documents because i did not get an email that requested for it, but rather the one i got stated that i have submited valid DS 260 and also provided all required document which i have not, meaning now that i am waiting for an email carrying my interview date.
MY QUESTION IS
1. Am i to recieve another email to send scan documents
2.Presently the VB is showing current number 38, should i go ahead and send the documents or should i just wait for my interview date to be sent?
February 18, 2020 at 02:36
1. Yes – you can ask KCC about that.
2. You will not be scheduled until they have your documents.
February 26, 2020 at 21:52
Greetings Mr. Simon my CN is AF38xxx. Thanks for your advice last time i did remember how my documents did reach them, moreover i contacted KCC by emailed and their reply was “Your case number is now current for interview processing. Once the interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via email to check https://www.dvlottery.state.gov“. after a week i called they told me in April but haven’t gotten email yet so am just waiting patiently.

Hi Brit,
I won the DV-lottery in 2018, and I’m living in USA.
I’m sorry, but it’s only here in USA I discovered being the father of a 10 years old daughter who lives in my country.
I would like her to come and live with me.
It did not mention her existence in the DS-260 in 2018.
Please, tell me, is it possible to see my dream become true?
Thanks!

It sounds like BS, but if you think you want to try and you realize the risk (that you lose the Green Card for lying) then you can try to sponsor her.

Hi Brit,
Thanks for your reply ,
Let’s assume some verification is needed, and after checking my daughter’s DNA and mine, it is found that they are the same ( they match).
Is there always the risk to lose my green card?

Hello Brit!
Thank you for all you do!
I have question. I am on an F1 visa in the USA and will be going home for two week (end of April- beg on May). The dv lottery will come out while I’m in France. If I am selected, can I be denied re-entry to the US ? I know if you get selected and file you can be denied entry on a non-immigrant visa, but does being selected alone does it too ?

First. You chance of selection is once in 200 years – so its a bit daft worrying about this.
Second – no problem.

Hi BritSimon,
Regarding I-134, in the paragraph “Dependent’s Information” , is it mandatory the sponsor list his two kids, which are older than 20 year old?
My sponsor has an annual income of 65k + real estate.
Thank you for your time.
Regards.
Mili

He should list them unless the instructions say otherwise.
