Hello Brit,
Has anyone in group 4 received 2nl from any country?
September 16, 2020 at 06:34
Hello Sidika, am also in grp 4. A non named plaintiff. From Africa. I called KCC yesterday and the lady was not welcoming. She didnot even give me a chance to speak. All she said was, “are you a named plaintiff? If not, then my chance is gone because they are working only with named plaintiffs”
I have not received 2NL yet. Thanks
September 16, 2020 at 11:51
There’s one mean lady (T) and there’s one very nice lady (M).
(M) says they’re trying as hard to finish the plaintiffs and that they’re trying to get to group 4 as soon as they can. And she wishes people good luck.
I like this lady.
(T) is so unwelcoming, first question is are you one of the plaintiffs. If you’re not shes basically telling us we are a hopeless case and she can’t help with whatever we are asking for.
I’m group 4 in AS region.
September 16, 2020 at 19:53
Not that I know of. KCC say they are still handling named plaintiffs.
September 17, 2020 at 07:49
Even, Im Named Plaintiffs and im ready for interview and KCC did nothing for me they are playing and do wast the time.
September 17, 2020 at 10:06

Hello Sir,
May God bless you and your family for the good work you are doing for all of us. Kindly, advice us on this question. My husband’s birth certificate has only his middle name then the parents name. His first name was not written. Will this bring a problem? He is the principal applicant. His CN is AF000007**
Thank you
September 16, 2020 at 19:54
No – it should not be a problem. His name in the DS260 should math the passport.
September 16, 2020 at 20:27
Thank you sir. Blessings.
September 16, 2020 at 05:20
Should 2021 DV winners apply for 2022 EDV lottry?
September 16, 2020 at 19:57
There is no reason not to do so.
September 17, 2020 at 09:51
Assuming Nepal has the highest case number of 10,000. Considering 3801 selectees, Will we able to see limit hit for Nepal? What is your assumptions, like in which range we will able to see limit hit for Nepal? Or Is there a high possibility to go current in last months?
Just wanted to know your predictions.
And, I personally noticed that there are many selectees concentrated in high range CN like above 7000, maybe? is it a good thing for high case number?
Is 9600 a risk number?
We Nepalese will be so grateful if we see thorough analysis on Nepal.
thank you brit for your work..
September 17, 2020 at 19:21
I published a video about AS region. Please watch that.
September 16, 2020 at 05:26
Hello Brit.
I’m a DV 2020 winner, 20204K and I’m from Sierra Leone. I did my interview in February and I was placed on AP. I have been contacting the embassy in Freetown but the said the consular section is completely shut down and nothing is going on. They said the CO is not even in town, she travelled to U.S. since June.I have three derivatives. What do you think I should do now?
September 16, 2020 at 20:04
That doesn’t sound too hopeful – all I can say is keep trying.
September 16, 2020 at 07:11
Hi Brit…I am a winner for DV2021 and number ASxxxx20k…my question is my place of birth is UAE but I am Indian citizen…in india my DOB is 1989 used throughout even in my passport…my actual DOB year issued from UAE is 1988..what are my options…I tried getting a new passport in India with the correct DOB but in India changing DOB in passport is not allowed…also,I applied my DV with 1989 as DOB coz that is what was in my passport…
I still haven’t filled my DS260
Please suggest what I should do
1.Shall I present a court order saying the DOB on DOB cerificate is original but due to rules it cannot be updated in other documents and submit my DS260 with old passport details.
Please I need your inputs.if there is anything I can do about it.
Thanks in advance
September 16, 2020 at 20:08
You should go ahead with the documents you have, although you have to realize that the mismatch in dates calls into question how genuine your documents are.
September 17, 2020 at 12:54
Brit thanks for replying.Today in India my passport application has been put on hold coz i am updated DOB fom birth certificate. It may take time from 1 month to 3 months.
So my question is can i fill my DS-260 with old passport and take my new passport to the interview.
Or wait until i get my passport with updated DOB and submit DS-260 with new passport?MY CN number is ASxxxx20k for 2021 DV
Thanks in Advance
September 17, 2020 at 19:40
Yes you can do that, although in reality you will wait far longer than three months to be interviewed.
September 16, 2020 at 08:21
Dv 2020 I’m in grp 4 and I received this mail from KCC wen I mailed for my mission critical appointment.
Thank you for your inquiry.
Your case number is now current for interview processing. Once the interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via email to check https://dvlottery.state.gov. If you need to make changes to your DS-260 you should contact the consular section where you will be interviewed, or bring the information about your changes to your interview appointment. Because your case is ready to be scheduled, KCC can no longer unlock your application.
Is there a positive outcome for this mail.
September 16, 2020 at 08:37
Hi Junill, good to hear that especially as kcc has been so hard on non – named plaintiff like me. I am also in grp 4. I wish to ask if you are a named plaintiff?
September 16, 2020 at 08:45
No. May be the prioritize cases
September 16, 2020 at 20:12
This email, in normal times, is ONLY sent to cases that are currently being scheduled and those cases get 2NLs a short time later. So – wait and see. Please let us know the outcome.
Are you a named plaintiff?
September 16, 2020 at 08:45
Hi, DV 2020 case AF 32k. I received ready to schedule email in February but at Ceac website my case shows at NVC even though someone with a higher case number than mine shows hers is ready. I called KCC and they told me that my case and documents are processed. What should I do to ensure my case is ready for interview?
September 16, 2020 at 20:13
You are in group 4. We have to wait to see if KCC move their efforts to scheduling some of those cases.
September 16, 2020 at 09:35
Dear Mr.Britt,
I am 2021 selectee,After submitting documents i have received ready for schedule mail .it means all the documents which submitted by me were completed with DS 260 details?
September 16, 2020 at 20:19
Yes – that is what the email says.
September 16, 2020 at 09:48
Hi Simon,
My name is abdelsamed mohammed , Sudanese nationality passport holder and I was born in Saudi Arabia ,
I have been randomly selected for further processing in the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program for the fiscal year 2021 and my case number is around AF16 thousand.
I have not been selected from the country where I born (KSA) as the country of eligibility. I remember that I selected No to the question that says “is the country of eligibility is the same as the country you born in?”. My inquiry is, is this a fatal mistake on my application? and what is the process that I can do to fix this problem?!
An additional information that might help is that all of my wife and my parents have been born in Sudan. I married before the entry application for the US DV Lottery Visa.
I wish to hear from you soon.
September 16, 2020 at 21:12
Mistakes like this are normally disqualifying when the two countries involved are in different regions, as in your case.
However you an claim to have chosen your wife’s country of birth (not your parents) as described in the article below. That “should” solve the problem. You are also currently affected by the ban on Sudan, so wait for a while to see if Biden wins.

September 16, 2020 at 21:13
The lawyers are aware of problems in some countries. However, you haven’t provided any detail,. so I can’t answer whether they know about your country or not.
September 17, 2020 at 02:08
hello again Brit. My country is Tajikistan, sir, and we should be interviewed in Kazakhstan in the city of Almaty, but the citizens of Tajikistan are categorically not allowed there, I did everything in my power but alas, it does not work out. Sir, I am very worried that my grin card may burn out because the invitation in the letter says this: the letter itself is here ”
DV interview
From: USAKZ More & 11 September 2020, 02:47 pm &
Dear Mr. AKHMEDOV, RAVSHAN;
We are pleased to proceed with the processing of your Diversity Immigrant Visa application. Your interview is scheduled for Sept 23, 2020 at 11:15.
Please note the DV-2020 Program expires on September 30, 2020. This means the entire process must be completed, application approved, and visa issued on or before September 30, 2020. As part of the in-person interview, the consular officer will ensure you have submitted all required forms and documents; confirm you paid any outstanding fees to the consular section’s cashier; review your medical records; and determine your eligibility for the visa.
Also note that your visa validity is tied to the medical exam expiration date; typically six months from the date the exam was conducted. Diversity Visa holders ’entry into the United States, however, is currently suspended under Presidential Proclamation 10014 (PP10014). This proclamation is scheduled to expire on December 31, 2020 but can be extended. In the meantime, please do not make plans to travel to the United States until a time when you know PP10014 is no longer in effect and your visa is still valid, unless your visa is annotated as having been issued pursuant to an exception to any applicable Proclamation (s). Please monitor travel.state.gov for the latest information on PP10014. In addition, the regional COVID-related Presidential Proclamations (PP 9984, 9992, 9993, 9996, and 10041) remain in effect and DV applicants therefore also remain subject to those Proclamations. This means we will be unable to issue visas to those physically present in China, Iran, Schengen Zone, UK, Ireland, or Brazil within 14 days of visa adjudication.
Given these limitations, please let us know as soon as possible if you would like to decline this interview time so we can free it for another applicant. Please also note the offered appointment cannot be rescheduled or postponed.
Best regards,

September 17, 2020 at 04:36
we have already written to all the embassies and which we have access to are not accepted. Please inform the lawyers about our situation so that if dv2020 is extended we have a chance. You are our last hope. thank
September 16, 2020 at 10:12
Hi Simon! Is there a way to contact you privately please? I need your help and instructions.
September 16, 2020 at 11:03
Dear Simon ,
Does it make any harm to send my suporting documents to kcc now without recieving their email knowing that my case number is 2021AF51000
Thanks.
September 16, 2020 at 11:13
Does not make any sense just because you are DV2021, You number is pretty high ( I’m just saying your number is high not Impossible), and also we do not have to keep KCC busy with this this kind of questions as long they are working really hard for DV2020. Just wait , everybody will receive that mail.
September 16, 2020 at 21:16
No harm exactly, but you have months to wait anyway, so why rush?
September 16, 2020 at 11:13
Hello Dear Brit,
Is police Certificate required for DV 2021 winners from Afghanistan to submit to KCC ?
Thank you.
September 16, 2020 at 21:17
Reading the instructions (including the reciprocity page) would help.
September 16, 2020 at 12:39
Hi Brit,
After multiple calls and repetitive email I received an emails of documents received however something very contradicting here we have the Court order and the email says interviews are suspended ….Anyone who has received such a mail?
Congratulations! Our records indicate that you have submitted all documentation required by the Kentucky Consular Center and are ready to be scheduled for an interview when your case number becomes current. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing.
Interviews for the DV 2020 program are currently suspended. You can find out more about this suspension at travel.state.gov. All DV 2020 interviews must be concluded by September 30, 2020. Please refer to the visa bulletin at travel.state.gov to locate the current numbers being processed. This bulletin is updated after the 15th day of each month. Once an interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via email listed on your DS-260 to check dvlottery.state.gov.
If your case becomes current and you have not received notification to check dvlottery.state.gov, please contact [email protected] to confirm all of your documents have been received, and you are ready to be scheduled for an interview.
September 16, 2020 at 21:19
It’s just a standard email format. It’s the ready for scheduling email. Relax, they are trying to do something for you.
September 16, 2020 at 13:06
Today I got this mail from the consulate, after I asked them about possibilly interview. I am in group 4, a non named plaintiff and I’ve received documents confirmation in March but I didn’t receive 2NL.
Dear Madam,
Unfortunately, given current space and capacity constraints, we are not able to schedule appointments for any Diversity Visa applicants (program year 2020) who did not have an appointment cancelled in March, April or May. We are required to follow the prioritization guidance from the Department of State.
You can find more information here: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/News/visas-news/diversity-visa-DV-2020-update.html.
We are very sorry we cannot schedule you for an appointment.
Good luck for the all of you who still have a chance! ?
September 16, 2020 at 14:06
Which consulate? ☹?
September 16, 2020 at 21:20
Their prioritization point and the volume are reasonable points. What embassy is this?
September 16, 2020 at 23:56
I got exactly the same answer. I just asked our embassy if there is any possibility to get an interview for a case that is still at KCC. Embassy in Poland. It’s certainly not because of the pandemic nor the amount of cases. There were only 384 cases while half of them are already processed. Maybe it’s just an automatic reply? If this email could help mr. Kuck I can forward it to him.
September 17, 2020 at 06:52
Consulate in Poland.
September 16, 2020 at 13:40
hello Brit.
Quick request :until the time the DV2022 real dates of application are released ,Kindly notify us.
regards.
September 16, 2020 at 21:22
October 1 it will start.
September 16, 2020 at 14:30
Hi Brit, Today again I called up KCC to follow up on my 2NL. The lady who replied to my call she said they already finished scheduling the interview for 200 Plaintiff for Gomez v Trump but she said KCC again receive the new list of 1000 plaintiff for Gomez v Trump. I don’t understand this. And as well I feel KCC is not doing to their Maximum if we calculate practically lets imagine 5 people working in KCC who is taking care for scheduling appointments and each staff is scheduling minimum 15 appointments per day so that mean it can be 75 appointments per day and 375 a week. I am sure they can manage at least 100 to 150 appointments per day. All what they have to do is just send the file electronically to the US embassy or consulate. Any ways lets try our luck and I am so sure with the Grace of All Might Allah me and my family will get the visa this month.
September 16, 2020 at 21:24
We know their capacity and will discuss whether they have used their best efforts or not when we get to the hearing next Monday.
September 17, 2020 at 07:55
HOW COME THE TOTAL OF NAMED PLAINTIFF IS CLOSE TO 1000 AND NOT ALL OF THEM AT KCC SO HOW THEY SAID THIS NUMBERS?
September 17, 2020 at 19:16
These are the people listed on each of the lawsuits.
September 16, 2020 at 15:01
Dear Mr Brit im dv2020
Is it possible to change the address of the sponsor we entered during the interview?
September 16, 2020 at 21:25
Yes
September 16, 2020 at 15:51
Dear Brit, I presented the original of my marriage certificate during my DV interview. My spouse is going to attend the interview a few days later (we asked for a special permission because of some issues). Do you think he also needs to present an original certificate? We have only one.. Do you think it’s an issue?
Thanks for your great help. Once I have the visa in my hands I am going to write you a long letter to reflect everything that is in my heart. We love you dear Brit.
September 16, 2020 at 21:26
It normally is an original copy, yes. I don’t know if that would be a problem, it is up to the CO. They keep a copy (which you provide) so hopefully that will be enough, given the circumstances.
Good luck.
September 16, 2020 at 16:32
Hi Simon
First sorry for taking your time when you busy with DV 2020.
If you were in someone’s shoes in AF Region, can you spend $400 to get a passport only for the purpose of playing DV lottery? Note that to raise that money back home is really difficult.
Thank you.
September 16, 2020 at 21:30
It depends what that $400 means to someone. To me $400 would be trivial, but I know it is not a trivial amount in some parts of the world. It also sounds like a ridiculous amount just for a passport, but if that’s the cost, there it is.
By the way, the costs involved for this process may be prohibitive for some countries. Unfortunately, there is nothing to be done about that.
September 16, 2020 at 22:02
Thank you Simon
And yes it’s a rediculous amount for a passport. The standard price is 80,000fcfa about $130, but when you do the normal process, you will wait for years without getting your passport as the officials will keep saying there’s shortage of material, but when you can afford the huge amount to make express, the same officials will print within two days.
September 16, 2020 at 22:15
Ahhh, I see.
September 16, 2020 at 16:53
Dear Sir,
What does mean by yellow paper that given in end of the interview?
September 16, 2020 at 21:33
The paper has words on. The words explain the meaning.
September 16, 2020 at 17:59
Hi brit ,
why DOS talks about an appointment canceled in May, but kcc are stopped in April 2019 ????
There were no appointments in May 2019
September 16, 2020 at 18:04
April 2020 *
September 16, 2020 at 21:35
Yeah there were. Some May appointments were sent in March.
September 16, 2020 at 18:20
Hi Simon,
Are you familiar with cases in which embassies base the validity of the DV on the police certificate expiration date?
I always thought this was based on the medical exam?
September 16, 2020 at 21:37
Someone from Australia raised this point yesterday. It’s not supported by the law and contrary to the instructions for DV cases. I’d be interested if any embassy tries to limit validity based on police certs.
September 16, 2020 at 19:18
Hello Mr Brits,
I wish to enquire something please,I desire to know what step am I to take when things come back to normal because I have completed and submitted my DS-260 form and I don’t know what to do next ,what am I supposed to do next?
September 16, 2020 at 21:45
There is a link for the guide above. Go through that.
September 16, 2020 at 20:02
Hi Sir,
Do you provide paid service for lottery visa . I can tell from your videos that you have done lots of statistical calculation which might be able to help me ( i am from Jordan living in UAE) you mentioned they will take 1500 from Jordan.
September 16, 2020 at 21:48
No. You don’t need to pay anyone. No country has an allocation, all processing is within the region as a whole, so you chances are depending on your case number.
September 16, 2020 at 21:24
good day
i’m DV winner and preparing my documents my question, is it required to provide education certificates for my husband also ?
September 17, 2020 at 02:38
No
September 16, 2020 at 21:28
Dear sir Simon ! Many thanks for your precious effort !
I am in your group 2 AP 221g. The embassy called me today and told to send the 4 passports urgently and repeat medical .
They also told me that my AP is cleared out and now my husband is in system checks and told that we cant guarantee if he is going to take visa before 30Sept.It is not in our hands anymore she said . It depends how check lasts .
What is this check for a derivative accompany. My husband is clean in everything.
1-Do you have any clue sir Simon what is this?
2- Can they issue me and my children and my husband not ,is that possible?
I am happy and sad at the same time . If my husband doesnt get the visa is there any possibility to join us later?
Many thanks sir and may god blees you and your family for all this terrific support!
September 16, 2020 at 21:59
Hello Brit,
How’s the meeting went with the lawyers and DOS in regards to the embassies reopening this noon?
September 16, 2020 at 22:05
I don’t know.
September 16, 2020 at 22:02
Brit, we’re really thank and grateful to you and the entire team of lawyers who are making sure things work for us the best.
September 16, 2020 at 22:19
Hey Simon,
I currently live in Australia as a temporary resident. However, I am a citizen of Nepal and my passport is from Nepal too. My question is, as I am an adult now can I show the bank balance of my father back in Nepal to make my financial situation strong?
I will be able to get form I 134 from my cousin in Untied states too.
September 16, 2020 at 22:29
No you can’t show your father’s money. The I-134 will be more useful.
September 16, 2020 at 22:23
hello brit …
I have a problem with my file .. I am a winner in 2021 with a case number 48XX and so far I have not submitted my ds260 .. because of small problems with my sponsor ..
my question is: isn’t it too late?
September 16, 2020 at 22:30
No
September 16, 2020 at 22:54
if there are no plaintiffs, there is still hope to get an appointment in Switzerland as there are not that many winners
I have recived this mail on April 2020 from KCC
Thank you for your inquiry.
Your case number is now current for interview processing. Once the interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via email to check https://www.dvlottery.state.gov. If you need to make changes to your DS-260 you should contact the consular section where you will be interviewed, or bring the information about your changes to your interview appointment. Because your case is ready to be scheduled, KCC can no longer unlock your application.
Due to the novel COVID-19 outbreak all interviews for the DV program have been suspended, it is undetermined when scheduling will resume.
September 16, 2020 at 23:37
It will be up to KCC to push the case to the embassy. If you are able to contact the embassy and get them to ask KCC for your case – do that.
September 16, 2020 at 23:09
Hi Brit,
Thank you for your great work..
I am DV2021 winner. And my case number is 2021EU21XXX. I already sent my DS260 form in 24 july but not received any mail from kcc. Should I worry about it?
September 16, 2020 at 23:37
No. Patience.
September 17, 2020 at 04:04
Dear Britsimon,
I had my interview yesterday (16th of September) in Hong Kong. However, CO was concerned about my job because I’m a computer science PhD holder and work in AI related high tech. After providing my research publications, CV and transcripts, the CO asked me to submit DS-5535 form. Please note that my wife is the winner and I’m a derivative.
I’ve already submitted that ds-5535 form and forwarded it to the consulate. What are the chances of they rushing to do the background check before the deadline?
Thank you,
Really, appreciate all the help you have provided us during this process.
September 17, 2020 at 04:14
Hopefully, someone will explain that your experience or education is irrelevant.
September 17, 2020 at 04:26
Hi Brit,
Please advise my Police Clearance for a country I lived in 8 years back has expired and I cannot travel to that country to obtain a renewal of the police certificate as the borders are closed due to Covid 19 they are not allowing foreigners.what can I do at this point to convince the consular officer during the interview that it’s not my fault I have tried all I could.i still have the expired one luckily I obtained it before the lockdown .
Thanks
September 17, 2020 at 04:42
Use the expired one.
September 17, 2020 at 05:43
Hello Brit
May our good Lord continue blessing you.Brit I am a named plaintiffs I have emailed kcc four good times have even called them on phone the keep saying I should check my email constantly .That they will schedule me.Untill now no response from them.please Brit what should I do now cause we are running out of time.
September 17, 2020 at 11:30
Same situation exactly, what we should do? I don’t know really I’m tired.
September 17, 2020 at 19:06
You just have to keep trying. Make sure you are very clear that you are a named plaintiff, and be ready to take the steps needed.
September 17, 2020 at 06:15
Hi Brit,
My interview is scheduled next week, i submitted my documents to KCC on two occassions, which documents shall i submit to the embassy at the time of the interview? Shall i submit the latest documents which include recent police certificates or shall i submit the old ones as well?
September 17, 2020 at 19:13
Take old and new versions of the documents. TYhey probably won’t ask for those, but its better to have more documents on hand.
September 17, 2020 at 06:29
Hi Brit!
If you have a High school diploma and are now studying in University and working as well, which is mentioned on DS-260, do you need to provide proof of this?

Hello Brit, first of all thanks for your efforts about supporting and guiding us, the DV winners.. My question is.. Have you heard anything about winners of Asia, (not iran or Nepal) about what numbers are receiving document request emails nowadays (mid-sept)? My number is around the end of 2021AS12XXX and based on your experience, when would 12K or 13K of Asia would get doc request emails? Thanks again & may you have a good day..

I don’t know – timing for each case will vary. Be patient.

Hello Simon, Thank you so much again for all your help and support.I was given a blue sheet stating “Your application for an immigrant visa has been suspended in accordance with section 221(g) of the INA, pending a receipt of 1)Final eMedical report and 2)Original birth certificate. Thankfully, I have successfully applied for both. My question at hand is that I still need to log onto http://cdn.ustraveldocs.com/hk/ to arrange for return delivery of my passport and immigrant packet. However, when going through the online submission, under immigrant visa category, there was this stipulation: “Follow up appointment (IV) : only for eligible applicants who have received written notification from the U.S. Consulate General in Hong Kong that they must schedule a follow up 221(g) appointment”. Would the blue sheet be considered a written notification to schedule a follow-up appointment? I was planning on emailing the Consulate too, but they take a few days to respond at times, and I was planning to go back on Monday with my documents. Thank you so much!
September 17, 2020 at 19:55
I’m not sure how each embassy handles follow ups – just be as proactive as possible.

Hello Simon, thank you for your advice. I got an email reply from the Consulate- they told me to return to the Immigrant Visa Unit tomorrow from 2-4pm with my documents. Then they said, “We review the documents and advise you further.” Hence, I did NOT register online my address for document delivery yet- play safe and just go with what they tell me. Thank you again for your advice.

Seems like judge Amit Mehta has fear that he could lose reputation if he put ban on presidential proclamation. As he is Indian American someone from Trump administration could easily slander and denigrate his decision as he protects immigrants.. He even denied preliminary injunction on H1B visa ..
September 17, 2020 at 19:59
I think that is complete nonsense. Judge Mehta is not afraid to rule against the administration and his race doesn’t matter at all.

Good day brit wanted more information about the ineligible waiver. How does it work ? What brings it into play ? And how long does it take?
September 17, 2020 at 20:02
It is something you can discuss with the CO at the interview. If the CO feels there is good reason for a waiver, he/she can apply for it. Reasons are rare.

Simon, I sent an email to the lawyer at [email protected] this morning. It came back as “blocked”. Do you know of anyone else having problems emailing them? Is there another email address I can send the Declaration to? Thank you.
September 17, 2020 at 20:14
Try [email protected]. Check the filesize is small enough to be sent by your email servers.
September 17, 2020 at 18:26
Hello Brit,
I have been denying on AOS, the reason was not maintaining status’s for almost 1,5 years. I am F1 student now I reinstated it before the interview though. And I thought it will be okey.
My question is should I try to participate in a lottery this year, or in case I win again will I be denied anyways?
Thank you,
Anya
September 17, 2020 at 20:15
You can try again. If selected, process in your home country.
September 17, 2020 at 22:59
Why is it necessary to process from home country ? Will they not consider that I lived here without status?
September 19, 2020 at 00:54
Correct. That is not important in CP – as long as you did not get barred by a long overstay.
