Thank you for your inquiry.
In order to continue processing your case, all documents should be submitted as attachments to your email to ensure they are properly received. We ask that you use the following method to name and attach your files:
• Your DV case number;
• The full name of the applicant whose document you scanned; and
• The document name or form number.
For example:
2021AF00938653_John_Doe_Passport.pdf
2021AF00938653_Jane_Doe_Birth_Certificate.pdf
Use your case number as the subject of the email. The maximum email size is 30MB. If the total size of your attachments is larger than 30MB, send multiple emails using your case number as the subject of each email. Please send your documents for KCC review only after you have collected all of the required documents for yourself and all accompanying family members. Send documents only to the [email protected] email address.
Documents photographed or scanned with a mobile phone are acceptable, but every document must be fully legible. Illegible or incomplete documents must be re-submitted and will delay processing of your case
Ps advise me Mr Brit, above is officially request mail for docs or just a respond to my mail???
October 15, 2020 at 22:44

October 16, 2020 at 05:57
Hello Brit,
Thank you for helping us.
My father is a winner of dv2021 with case number of 2021EU4xx and he has 3 derivatives my mom and my siblings. We have received an email from KCC regarding sending the required documents. I have some questions about them.
1. My father did not serve in the military and has no military certificate so we shouldn’t send KCC a military certificate right?
2. In my parents marriage certificate my mom took my father’s surname and this surname was also written in my siblings birth certificates in place of mother’s name. But my father at that time told my mom to get a passport with her birth surname and said no need to change to my father’s surname. So since then she uses and has her birth surnames on her passport and on original entry and in submitted ds-260. We didn’t pay attention to this surname differences until we start to translate the documents to send them to KCC now we are really worried that if we send the documents with this surname difference, it may stop KCC from processing my fathers case and also embassy may reject our visa. Please advise us on what to do in this case. Should we change all three certificates (marriage and birth certificates (sibling’s) and get them with my mom’s birth surnames or should we send what we have now?
Thank you in advance
October 16, 2020 at 21:30
1. Of course not.
2. There is a space on the DS260 for the legal name, and also one for other names used (such as maiden names). Use both spaces.
October 16, 2020 at 06:18
Hi Brit. When I send birth certificate is it needed to certified and other question is should it be within 6months something like that. Guide me please
October 16, 2020 at 21:32
There are country specific instructions that cover specifics like this for every country. Go and read the instructions.
October 16, 2020 at 12:22
so this will give hope for the people with high number as me (AS35944) who submitted the DS260 application.
October 15, 2020 at 08:48
Hi Brit,
When I get the E mail from KCC for documents how soon do i need to send documents since i have to get the police reports it takes time, Hope your kind response.
October 15, 2020 at 22:47
There is no deadline.
October 17, 2020 at 17:58
Hi Brit I am the winner of 2021. When I apply for the DV 2022 can I use the same photos which I uploaded in dv2021 due to the lockdown in my country these day
October 17, 2020 at 19:09
No. Why does being in a lockdown stop you from taking a photo with a cellphone?
October 15, 2020 at 09:06
I am getting an error message, ‘Bad token for additional-register page’ how do i fix it?
.
October 15, 2020 at 22:48
I don’t know. You gave me no details.
October 15, 2020 at 11:09
Hi Brit
When I check my ds260 i put wrong phone number (different last digit of my phone number) should unlock my ds 260 and change it?
October 15, 2020 at 22:55
You can do.
October 15, 2020 at 11:30
Hello sir, thank you for the video concerning the update on the lawsuit, I have listened to u carefully and well understood. All the layers are avocating for their clients what about non name plantiff?. Analytically at end, those Visa’s will probably be prioritize by each lawsuit, thanks I think non name plantiff DV 2020 this is the end.
October 15, 2020 at 22:55
We will have to wait and see.
October 16, 2020 at 13:50
,@Daniel , it can’t be so. Remember there was class action that was granted. So u would have a chance, if u have a low case number. Cos kuck said in one of his videos that if ur case number is above 50k, u might not have a chance
October 16, 2020 at 21:45
Charles Kuck is a smart lawyer but does not know about case numbers and so on.
October 15, 2020 at 11:38
also there is something to do with my proxy settings on my lap top and it is not allowing me to continue from the first page?
October 15, 2020 at 22:55
OK – use a different computer then…
October 15, 2020 at 12:09
Sir Britt I request kcc to unlock ds260 and kcc unlock the form and kcc said make necessary changes but I not want to unlock myself and make any necessary changes Because Their is not edit in interview location only kcc can edit this part so their is any problem if kcc only unlock the form but I not to unlock my side.
Please I am waiting for your reply
Thank you !
Respectfully
October 15, 2020 at 22:56
I have no idea what you are asking.
October 16, 2020 at 00:25
Thank you for your inquiry.
Your request to unlock the DS-260(s) you indicated is now complete. Unlocked DS-260’s can be edited on the Consular Electronic Application Center website. You may now make any necessary changes. Please note that unlocked DS-260s should be resubmitted as soon as the necessary changes are made. The failure to resubmit an unlocked DS-260 may affect the processing of your case, including the scheduling of your interview.
In order for the Kentucky Consular Center to assist with inquiries regarding a specific Diversity Visa (DV) case, you must provide the Principal Applicant’s full name, complete case number, and date of birth in the following format (MMDDYYYY) as entered on the original entry. Please remember that the Kentucky Consular Center does not have the authority to tell you whether or not your specific case will be disqualified. Only a consular officer can do that at the time of your visa interview. Do not send any paper documents to the Kentucky Consular Center.
Sir Britt this is the email from kcc so my question is “I not want to unlock myself is any problems If I not unlock and make no changes.
October 16, 2020 at 04:28
No problem.
October 15, 2020 at 13:14

October 15, 2020 at 16:00
Dear Simon sir , I have taken a photo in suit and tie with white background and cropped it to 600 by 600 pixels. is there any problem if photo are taken with suit and tie ? or it is okay.

October 15, 2020 at 17:55
hello simon,

I already submitted my DS260 waiting for email from KCC to send supporting documents but i scheduled want to get marry now . can i still add my spouse after my marry despite the fact that i already submitted my DS 260 ? is there any consequences of doing that if so ?
October 16, 2020 at 04:25
Yes you can, but do it as soon as possible.
October 15, 2020 at 19:03
Dear Simon,
This year we will again participate in the diversity lottery. Hopefully this will be the lucky year for us! We have had a photographer take our pictures (first time). We have two young childeren and we are a little bit unsure about the cropping tool of the lottery. The eyes need to be in the range 56 to 69% and the head needs to be within the oval. However when we do this, one of the two requirements is not met. Do you know what the most important requirement is regarding photos of children? Do we need to have the head within the oval space or do we need to keep the eye height requirements? Or do we need to fulfill both requirements?
We hope you can help us! Thank you in advance.
October 16, 2020 at 04:27
You are overthinking the percentages. Relax.
October 16, 2020 at 01:46
Hello simon,
As i want my spouse to immigrate with me later but i want my child to go with me. Do i need to send kcc my spouse’s police reports or passport photo?? Or just i need to send me and mine child documents?
October 16, 2020 at 04:29
Yours and your child’s
October 16, 2020 at 03:37
Hi brit, i want to apply for DV2022 and I don’t have my spouse and children passport so can I apply without mentioned passport but I have my passport
October 16, 2020 at 04:30
You only need your passport to enter yourself.
October 16, 2020 at 06:13
Hello BritSimon,
There is something i want to ask concerning my case. i am 2021 winner. Africa region AF112XX. My ds 260 submitted for myself and deriative. (wife and son). waiting to submit documents.
Considering that fact that American will be a new environment for my family, i dont want my son( 9months) to travel for now.
1. Can i withdraw my sons ds 260?
October 16, 2020 at 21:31
No – you can choose not to process him, but that is really unwise. It will take 2 years to process later (and more money).
October 16, 2020 at 06:19
Hi Britmon, how are you ? Hopefully you are good and safe from this pandemic. My name is Ulan from Bali, Indonesia. I have some questions for you :
1. So I am one of the winner of dv 2019, my CN is 21.Xxx, what if until February next year i still don’t receive any email from KCC, can i send the email by myself ?
2. at the moment how many current visa in asia ?
October 16, 2020 at 21:33
1. I hope you mean DV2021! You can contact KCC whenever you want.
2. No visas have been issued, no cases interviewed.
October 16, 2020 at 09:35
Hi Brit Simon
If I (hopefully) get my visa and activate my LPR status, can I apply for a government loan for university studies?
Thanks for investing your time on helping us!
October 16, 2020 at 10:54
One more query plz Simon: are there trusted translators where I can translate documents, or the documents can be translated by anyone, provided that the translated document will be stamped by the ministry of foreign affairs?
October 16, 2020 at 21:41
Anyone competent to translate.
October 17, 2020 at 06:11
Does that mean I can do them myself and save some cash on translation?
October 17, 2020 at 13:54
No, it cannot be you nor a family member.
October 16, 2020 at 21:40
I don’t know.
October 16, 2020 at 09:47
Hello Simon,
I am a winner of DV 2021, case number 19***
But while filling the application, I attached old pictures of my family, does it have effect to get visa? Also, I made some misspellings in my Last name and my wife’s first name. Can I correct these mistakes and get new passports? Besides, I attached a picture of my 3rd son for my last baby, he was 2 months age, does it make sense?
I hope, I’m not taking your time
Thank you!
October 16, 2020 at 21:41
It depends how old the photos are (or appear).
October 16, 2020 at 14:10
Greetings I need the formula to apply for my interview to be schedule in my country of origin
October 16, 2020 at 21:47
I have no idea what you mean.
October 16, 2020 at 14:51
Hi Brit,
Firstly, thank you for everything what are you doing in this blog and youtube channel.
I found a lot of useful information, god bless you.
I need your advice)
My wife is dv2021 winner, case 10***, we successfully sent our DS-260 forms, and sent all supporting documents after request by KCC.
The problem is, when we sent to KCC scan of military records of my wife (she is medical nurse in reserve):
in place of “marital status” – was written no info (in document itself she has my / husband’s surname);
in place of “education level” – also no info (however she is bachelor degree holder);
in place of “military record” – “has not passed”, as she did not served in military;
We recognized it only after sending documents, and we asked authority who gave us document to change (complete) information. Right now in original document:
in place of “marital status” – is written “married”;
in place of “education level” – is written “university degree”;
in place of “military record” – also “has not passed”, as she did not served in military;
My question:
Is this a serious problem if scan of MR sent to KCC is a bit different than original document in interview? Again she has not served in military at all, and we have all documents proving marriage and education.
October 16, 2020 at 22:03
I don’t think it’s a serious problem – you can explain it if asked.
October 16, 2020 at 16:18
Hi Simon,
My citizenship country, Pakistan is not eligible but since i was born in Kashmir (a disputed state between India and Pakistan under the U.N resolutions) and which is basically divided between India and Pakistan unresolved, do you think I might qualify for the DV lottery 2022?
October 16, 2020 at 22:06
No – neither Pakistan nor India is eligible to participate – and Kashmir is not a recognized country.
October 16, 2020 at 16:27
Hi brit,
I am a DV2021 winner…..While sending my documents, I Send them as 2021AS99**_John_Doe_Passport.pdf ( i.e without leading 0000 in my case number )…Will that be a problem brit ??
October 16, 2020 at 22:06
No
October 16, 2020 at 16:40
Hi Brit,
First, I would like to thank you for all the efforts you have done for DV lottery applicants and winners so far. We are really grateful for that.
I am among the DV-2020 lottery winners who were able to get visa. However, my visa will be expired within next March 2021. As you are aware, Trump ban may be extended for another 3 months and in this scenario, I will lose my chance to immigrate to the USA. I am wondering if I can also participate in DV-2022 lottery to be in safe side or it may be used as a negative point against my visa/immigration. I have seen some people/winners who was not able to get visa within the first year, also applied for the following year lottery. But, non of them had issued visas earlier.
I really appreciate it if you can provide your opinion on this.
Thanks,
Mahsa
October 16, 2020 at 22:06
No harm in entering DV2022.
October 16, 2020 at 16:48
Hi Brit
I’m DV 2021 winner and I’m in the process of submitting my DS 260. The passport which I use on my previous application when I applied the lottery has now expired, so sir do I need to get a new passport in order to apply the DS 260 form or it will be Okey using my expired one to fill the form?
October 16, 2020 at 22:07
Get a new passport.
October 16, 2020 at 19:48
Hi Brit,
I have been living in the UAE between 2001 and 2007, I have left permanently ever since. The problem is that as I have been recently trying to issue a police certificate, it turned out that a main requirement is to have an ID number. Unfortunately, an ID number was not available for foreigners during that period.
My question is, should I send the explanation as part of the official email to [email protected] with the required documents or as a separate email with the case number in the subject line?
Thank you
October 16, 2020 at 22:11
Along with the documents.
October 16, 2020 at 20:01
Hi Brit. I’m DV 2021 winner and I am in the process of filling DS260, my passport has expired. Do I need to get a new passport in order to apply the DS260 and then letter on provide the new one or I must get a new passport and then apply for the form ? What’s on your thoughts sir. So stressed out and confused sir, please help.
October 16, 2020 at 22:13
You will need a new passport, so get it.
October 16, 2020 at 21:19
Hello Sir,
Thank you for the wonderful work you are doing. Kindly let me know if it is possible to request for unlocking of DS 260 when the supporting documents have already been send and conformation letter received.
Many thanks
October 16, 2020 at 22:16
Yes
October 16, 2020 at 21:30
Good morning Sir ,dv2021
When we submit 260 form ,it takes time to be processed depend on many factors as you said , so all the required data for every winner will be known for example report from FBI , CIA, customs, and other departments in the usa or outside if it is applicable and they take all the time to address every details for every winner to send it to the consulate in every country to take the right decision about the approval or refusal the visas.
1- my question Sir why the CO in the embassy sometimes does another check for the winner and put the winner on AP with the knowledge that the big check done in details during the process of DS260 by every department in usa which has the enough time to discover every detail..
Thank you sir for your help.
October 16, 2020 at 22:16
1. Because the CO has the final decision, and has the right to ask for additional details to make that decision.
October 17, 2020 at 03:03
Hi Simon,
I have been applying for dvlottery for myself, my wife and children I thought that I have two chances: once the husband be the head of his familly and 2nd time wife be the head her familly, I have been doing this for the last five years and neither of us have been selected so far, Do you think becuase only one person from one family can apply either the husband or wife? Or no the method which I followed up is correct? Some one said that if two people from one family (husband and wife) apply for the lottery both of thier applications are going to be thrown out and they cannot take part in the selection process because if any of them get selected is going to bring the whole family. Can you please clarify this for me?
Thank you.
Very Respectfully
Tamim
October 17, 2020 at 13:51
You have been doing it correctly. Its a lottery, not everyone gets selected, in fact, very few do.
October 19, 2020 at 12:32
Thank you very much for the information,
October 17, 2020 at 03:34

At the same time I was told last month by the organization that I payed before that I was selected for this year, 2020 too, and I have not received any communication or email yet. What should I do in this moments of uncertainty?. I am reading all what is happeing through your page and I have to say that you are doing an incredible job and thanks a lot.
October 17, 2020 at 13:53
Your 2019 application is dead. About that, there is NO doubt at all.
As for other selection, get your case number.
October 17, 2020 at 05:21
Good morning Sir. I am a DV 2021 winner with CN 2021AF12xxx. When I was filling the DS 260 form, I was asked to provide information on my parents which I did but my Dad is deceased. My question is: Do I have to prove to the CO about his death or it is not a problem if I don’t have any proof cos he died when I was young. Thanks you Sir. Please help me.
October 17, 2020 at 13:06
Hi. Have you received email to submit documents yet?
October 17, 2020 at 13:54

October 17, 2020 at 11:25

October 17, 2020 at 12:17
Hi Brit, I’m DV 2021 winner. My name in the passport consist of 4 separate words (Ixxx Jxxx Axxx Hxxx). I just realized that in my entry I entered my name like this (First name: Ixxx, middle: Jxxx, last: Hxxx) I missed the third word completely and I still didn’t fill in DS-260 Form.
1) How bad is it?
2)Should I modify it in the DS-260 or leave it as is and explain myself in the interview?
Thanks.
October 17, 2020 at 14:00
Just make sure the DS260 has the full legal name that matches your passport.
October 17, 2020 at 14:51
Well that’s a relief. Thanks a lot! You know the concept of middle name in the Arabic culture is a little bit confusing. In passport your full name is usually your first name+your father’s first name + your grandfather’s first name + and finally your family name.
October 17, 2020 at 13:09
Dear Brit,
My case number is 2021ASXXXX. I did not submit the DS 260 form yet. I would like to change my interview location from Frankfurt, Germany to Bangkok, Thailand.
I have sent an email to [email protected] since October 8, 2020. I have been waiting for their reply for 10 days. Until now, I have not received any responses from them.
I am very worried about it. What should I do?
Thanks,
Margerett
October 17, 2020 at 14:01
You should wait. And when you give your number, give the number range in a more useful way.
October 17, 2020 at 15:54
Dear Brit,
Thanks for your reply.
My DS 260 form has not been submitted yet.
I’m going back to Bangkok, Thailand by October 30, 2020.
Do I need to wait for their reply?
Thanks,
Margerett
October 17, 2020 at 19:06
Really, because you didn’t give me the number properly you are just wasting my time.
October 17, 2020 at 14:28
Dear sir,
I am a winner of DV 2021, case number 19***
Filling the application, I attached old pictures of mine and my family. Do I get reject while applying for a visa in US Embassy? Also, I made a mistake in my last name. Can I correct this mistake and get new foreign passport? Finally, I attached a picture of my 3rd son twice, for him and his younger brother, because he was only 2 months age, what should I do?
I hope, I’m not taking your time
Thank you!
October 17, 2020 at 15:24
OK, normally little mistakes like these, individually, don’t cause much risk. BUT you seem unusually ok with ignoring instructions and simple logic, so I think there must be more risk in your case since you are so unwilling/unable to follow the rules.
What should you do? Start reading and following instructions for a start!
October 17, 2020 at 15:51
Thank you for quick response, but I was told that I can continue my further application process without my family, so that these kids’ pictures may affect badly. Do I have any chance to submit my documents for visa, and while being interviewed tell them that my family cannot apply for visa due to pandemic issues and they don’t want to make a risk.
Do I have any chance?
Thanks
October 17, 2020 at 19:02
Look. The sooner you start acting with honesty and integrity, the better. Don’t do things to find a way around the situation you created. Deal with it honestly.
October 17, 2020 at 14:30
Hello dear Brit,
I am a DV2021 winner with a case number AF50XXX.
Should I submit the DS260 now or wait a bit?
Thank you for your reply

It’s your choice. Delaying another month or two won’t make any difference.

Hi Simon! Thankyou for your tremendeous effort . You and your blog need an Oscar award !
I am a dv2020 visa holder entry subject to PP10014 .Big thanks to you and lawyers work.
1-I would like to ask you if Biden wins does Trump have power from November till 20 January to extend bans or to suspend or block ?
2- If Biden wins shall we book tickets for early January or shall we wait again ?
3- do you have any personal perspective view what will happen with us . ( visa issued under entry ban ) or its too early to predict that.
Please if you get any news about any lawsuit challenging entry ban PP10014 please make a video for us . I know that DV2020 has tired you compared to all DV years altogether.
We all have our eyes on you!
God bless you Sir Simon!

1. Yes, he will still be the president.
2. That is up to you. If you book tickets, make sure you can change dates.
3. Too early, but I do think things will get sorted out.

Dear Brit Simon
My wife is among the winners of DV21.
Actually, she has also a minor individual concern: she filled fictitious foreign passport’s data like serial number, date of expire because of not having been issued her passport, that’s fore she had to enter wrong information randomly.
What will happen with her application for further procedures?

Whilst it is not 100% certain (because we have not seen any cases processed yet with the new rules), I expect cases like this to be disqualified.

Hi Brit,
I have a question that has been worrying me lately.
I am a DV2021 winner.
My passport is issued by the Palestinian Authority. When I entered my information in the original DV2021 entry, I remember (not very sure) that I selected “Stateless” because I could not find Palestinian Authority in the list. My choice was based on the fact that Palestine is not considered a state as per the US laws, so Palestinians are Stateless.
However, going through the entry again (DV 2022), I found that two of the major cities in Palestine are indeed present in the list for the passport issuing country (Gaza Strip and West Bank). I think this means that I should have selected West Bank and provided my passport information.
I am not really sure if I selected Stateless or actually found West Bank during my DV2021 entry and selected it.
If I selected Stateless, is it an unforgivable mistake like the mistake of choosing the wrong country of chargeability? I did enter the correct country of chargeability based on my place of birth.
I usually find Palestinian Authority as an option when, for example, I obtain I-94. So when I could not find it in the DV2021 entry, I think I chose Stateless. Again, I am not sure if that’s what I really chose.
Thanks for all the effort!

You are not sure what you did – and of course I have less idea of what you did.
There are questions 5 and 6 which ask your country of birth and whether you are using that country as chargability – but those questions have nothing to do with the passport.
Later you would have needed to supply your passport number. If you did not give that, you are likely to be disqualified.

Thanks for your response, Brit!
I am not worried about the questions regarding the country of birth/chargeability. I got these right.
For the country that issued the passport (which for me is different than my country of birth), I could not find the country in the provided list. so (I think) I selected the Stateless option which does not require you to enter passport info. I have selected this option before for some other none DV-related applications in the US because it was the only option available.
My questions are:
1) Do you think there is a slight chance that the officer may understand the confusion that happened?
2) If not, is it likely to be disqualified right away before even having an interview, or will I have a chance to at least meet the officer, explain what happened, and be under his/her mercy?
Thanks for all the efforts.

1. No.
2. You would have the interview.

Hi Brit, Appreciate all the work you have done. Planning to enter DV 2022… I was born in Saudi Arabia and citizen of Turkey.. Kindly advise which one should be selected to increase my chance.

The process is based on your country of birth.

Hello-My brother would like to apply for a diversity lottery visa for the US. He was born in Bermuda Islands in 1986 right before they changed the law to where they were not issuing citizenship to children who were born in Bermuda to foreign parents. My parents since then moved to Morocco. My brother is not able to apply for a British passport and is essentially “stuck” in Morocco. Would he have to list Bermuda as the country or can we list Morocco? He has resided in Morocco since he was 4.
I appreciate your assistance.

The lottery is based on where you were born, not where you live.

Hi Brit,
I am seeking your opinion regarding old soccial media.
What if one created an anonymous FB acount with a micky mouse name in addition to her/ his official account? I believe a couple of years ago, maybe more than 5, maybe less, I have to find out… I created such an account without any pictures of anybody, incl. myself nor any posts or messages to anyone with it. This account was solely done, to link tinder to it, as I did not want to link tinder with my official account.
In order for tinder to work, a lot of friend requests to unknown users were sent out. Because unknown, I don’t want to be associated with them.
Of course the active account will be listed, but should such an (inactive) micky mouse account be listed as well? I feel like this could only lead to raising eyebrows and strange questions and in the worst case to AP which may be bad for a high case number.
Should I try to find out what this account was, and if younger than 5 years, should it be listed or not? How to tackle this?

Honesty.

Yes

Hi Brit,
I’ve submitted my DS-260 application few days back, but came across a note from a friend who submitted DS-260 as well.
the note is on writing the given name; in my case I wrote only the first name (I don’t have a middle name & I didn’t include my father’s name since for Arabs, usually we are called by the first name + Last name)
Of course, Last name is my family name…
Do i need to modify my form to show (Given name: 1st name_father’s name_Grand_father’s name)? or would my entry as explained above would be accepted?
Thank you in advance.

Your legal name should match the passport.
