Dear Mr.Bithsimon;
In line with the calculation derived when a child turns 21 during the process with regard to the CSPA, the gap between the time (October 2,1999) I played the eDV and the time (June 6, 2020) the result came out is 249 days. I added this 249 to his birth day, November 22 and it landed on July 29, 2021, meaning that he ages out on this date. My case number is 2021AF2XXX. Please clear my mind on these following concerns.
1. Besides aging out, are there any other meanings or explanation of this scenario?
2. Since indeed he ages out on this specified date, is he eligible to get a visa if the interview is done beyond this date, like say, in August or September 2021?
3. Are the COs sensitive to the CSPA, do they give it credence?
4. Which CSPA documents should one give to the CO in the event of where it is asked for during interview? the calculation derived and exhibited by you OR the one from USCIS?
5. Is there any new from the lawyers fighting in favor of DV 2020 and DV 2021 with respect to the ban in place?
Thank you and best regards
John
January 29, 2021 at 00:14
1. Not a clear question. Your calculation is pretty good.
2. In my understanding, yes, as long as the case number is current, which it already is.
3. Yes. It’s law. However, some may not know about it, so you are wise to print out the USCIS information linked from my page.
4. Give the official page print out.
5. I posted just today about that.

hi i’m a winner for dv 2021, i have a question i submitted civil documents (passport, birth certificte and police certificate) to kCC, but they asking me for an additional document i’m from Drcongo but i applied in Johannesburg( south Africa) i am really lost on this level may you please assist me?
January 29, 2021 at 00:17
Have you provided all the police certs? Have you checked the documents are legible? Have you checked the documents are well named… lots to check.
January 29, 2021 at 12:19
yes i have checked everything, but i’m really lost on this and i do not know what to do right now
January 29, 2021 at 17:19
I had someone equally certain that they “had checked everything” yesterday and I asked her to send me the email she sent to KCC. After a few moments I realized she had not sent a police cert for her own country – DRC. So – the liklihood is that you have not read the instructions and are missing something – most likely a police cert.
January 29, 2021 at 18:35
i get it Simon, but the thing is i submitted the south African police certificate cause i have lived here for more years and i still do have Congolese police cert. should i submit Congolese police cert instead of South African one ?
January 29, 2021 at 19:22
Youi are not paying attention to the instructions. That is why you are lost. It is likely (from what you have said) that you need to provide at least two police certs. Please read the instructions!!
January 29, 2021 at 18:37
But brit what if the person is going that certain country for just a interview?
He doesn’t need the police C from this country becouse he’s here for just an ….
So will that be a problem if i just send the police cer from my country?
January 29, 2021 at 19:22
Have you read the instructions?
January 29, 2021 at 18:10
Am also 2021 winner from SA Patrick. Can we exchange contacts.
January 29, 2021 at 18:31
ok no problem Daughter of ZION email me so we can exchange numbers on email [email protected]
January 28, 2021 at 18:04
My wife, DV lottery 2021 Applicant, her Birth certificate has her mom’s name mispelled as Zarah instead of Sarah as in wife passport. Will this be a disqualification during later stages of immigration visa processing ?. God bless you.
January 29, 2021 at 00:53
It should not be a problem. In the DS260 you can list both versions of the name (using the other names section).
January 28, 2021 at 19:46
Hi Brit
I’m dv 2021 selectee with case number EU95XX. I have sent supported documents since September and I didnt receive any other email. I wrote an email to KCC but I have received the same email they send me when asked for te supported documents. It seems like automatic reply.Should I wait for the email of call them?
Thank you in advance
January 29, 2021 at 00:56
You can call them.
January 28, 2021 at 19:48
Hi Simon! Thanks for all the work you do dissecting all the DV info, especially at this confusing time!
I am a winner of DV2021 and my number is already on the Visa bulletin. I’m currently resident in the US so I applied for AOS, sent in my package and have received a letter from the USCIS about a month ago saying that they received it and are processing it.
Do the travel bans affect AOS applications the same as overseas applicants? I’m confused about what to expect because most of the info I come across is about overseas applicants.
Thanks!
January 29, 2021 at 00:56
AOS cases are not affected by the bans.
February 2, 2021 at 01:15
Hi Emily. May I ask you if you received an Adjustment of Status letter for KCC before your number went current?
January 28, 2021 at 21:02
Dear Simon, Suppose that PP10014 &52 are lifted either by the president or lawsuits, does this help expedite on commencing dv2021 process? I mean don’t embassies put reasons to slow the commence? Or does the lawsuit help on binding the embassies to start the process?
January 29, 2021 at 00:59
It helps, but it isn’t the whole battle. I created a video about that today – go and watch the first few minutes for a better explanation.
January 28, 2021 at 22:30
Hi Simon!
Thank you deeply for all your support and help, it is truly appreciated!
Suppose PP10014 gets lifted tomorrow-
We have flights for Saturday (we needed for the NIE application which is still in processing). Those flights have been suspended and the airlines cannot do anything until embassy allows them to.
Do you think the airlines will automatically open my flight tickets and I will be able to board without any note from the embassy?
And also, since I know you live there, how’s the quarantine situation in SF Bay Area, we are moving there and have our empty apartment but our furniture is on a storage in San Jose, so you think the quarantine is lose enough for us to be able to go there and get our stuff?
January 28, 2021 at 23:57
Also, I don’t have a health insurance right now, besides from the travel one. I will be getting mine from work which I will start as soon as I arrive as they are waiting for me. Do I need to get one to enter the US? They never asked us during our interview process.
January 29, 2021 at 01:31
No. The one you get from work should be a good plan. The only exposure you have is for the time period before you start work, and perhaps the time when you can actually be covered. Check your travel insurance carefully, and perhaps get a bridge insurance policy.
January 29, 2021 at 01:01
You will not be able to travel on Saturday. The immigration announcements will be next week now. It will take some days to filter down to the airlines.
Be sure to not connect flights through any banned area such as Schengen or UK.
The SF Bay area lockdown just eased – so you will be able to move around.
January 29, 2021 at 06:47
Hi Brit,
I’m a dv winner of 2021 and I’m a married woman too but my husband lives in the US already.
My question is this, when submitting documents to kcc should I include that of my husband too?since I’m married and they know from my DS260 form or no need?.
January 29, 2021 at 07:14
It depends whether he needs a GC or not.
January 29, 2021 at 07:29
Dear Simon
I am one of the winners of the 2021 lottery from Iran.
Due to the cancellation of Trump’s decree by President Biden
Is it possible for Iranians to get a visa?
Thank You
masoud
January 29, 2021 at 17:05
Right now there are several other problems. PP10014, embassies being closed and so on. So – things are getting better, but not totally fixed yet.
January 30, 2021 at 14:22
Bro… Avoid being Soo pessimistic. A step at a time. Once the biggest elephant -pp10014-is brought down, the rest shall re-align respectively. Let’s chew in pieces
January 30, 2021 at 14:41
Emma Kits, what’s so pessimistic about Masouds question?
You should relax a little bit and don’t let your anxiety control you by attacking people. Your attitude kind of sounds pessimistic tbh.
Poor guy had a simple question!
January 30, 2021 at 14:52
emma kits hasnt slept or ate since June 2020
So pleaae bare with her or him
January 30, 2021 at 14:56
Hi Ketan, neither have I…we are all in the same boat, I just don’t see what’s pessimistic about his question!!
I really wish everybody the best of luck, I just don’t like people calling others out wrongfully..
January 30, 2021 at 14:58
It’s ok the ‘rich guy* Lg. Though I didn’t have anything personal as u perceive it. Am sorry. @ketan,it’s a fact. We may eat after Tuesday when the P14 is removed. I shall kill an african goat
January 30, 2021 at 15:07
The rich guy lol. I try to achieve Aristotle’s golden mean of virtue :p
Well as long as you don’t mean to be attacking him, it’s all good!
And Yes! I hope we all get to eat & sleep on Tuesday and finally travel soon!
Good luck to everyone!
January 30, 2021 at 15:15
Good luck too @Lg.
January 29, 2021 at 08:16
Hi Simon
My current address is written in many ways:
1-National ID and Water/Electricity bills: One way (Very short)
2-Document that proves I own the house: another way (long way, more complete)
3-DS 260: I wrote it another way (kind of like a combo of the first 2 above)
Now when I request documents such as Celibacy certificate or police certificate, they use the National ID one (which is different from the DS 260 one but not totally).
You think it shall be okay at the interview? I prepared the water bills in case CO asks why it is written in many ways as well as the document proving I own the house. Can I keep the DS 260’s current address as it is now or do I need to write it exactly like the national ID?
(My number is current and ready for scheduling)
Many thanks
January 29, 2021 at 17:10
It’s not a problem. Relax.
January 29, 2021 at 08:30
Hi Brit!
Just a query! Approximately how many Visas can be issued in 6 months in a normal year ?
January 29, 2021 at 17:11
The most visas I have seen issued in a single month is around 6k. BUT that is not normal, and this is not a normal year.
January 29, 2021 at 11:45
Hello simon, I am a dv 2021 winner and around 2nd December 2020 the kcc asked for my documents and I submitted them, I haven’t received any reply whether they are satisfied with the documents or not. Is their any reason to worry?
January 29, 2021 at 17:14
No
January 29, 2021 at 11:47

LOL. It’s moved to Tuesday.
January 29, 2021 at 12:38
Hello, do we need to update the criminal record certificates? We are the winners of 2021 . We were sending these certificates last year in July, whether we need to update again?
January 29, 2021 at 17:20
That would be wise if your case is not interviewed in the next few months.
January 29, 2021 at 13:34
Hi Brit,
I’m a dv winner 2021AF and it shows on the visa bulletin that my number was current last month and now they pass my number yet I haven’t gotten an interview.
What could be the problem?.
January 29, 2021 at 17:21
Have you not been paying attention at all? Do you not understand no interviews are happening at all? Read my recent articles.
January 29, 2021 at 19:11
Hi Brit,
Dv2020 visa holder. I have given up on this Gomez case hearing bc it seems like it wouldn’t help us at all. We’ve waited so long and our lives have been put on hold over this. We’ll continue to be patient & hopeful for next week Tuesday to finally hear some good news (now that WH is aware of us DV2020 Visa holders and the litigations that’s been taking place). Our only hope is Annuciato & Next week Tuesday.
January 29, 2021 at 19:20
I am certain that PP10014 was always something Biden would have planned to remove. But Tuesday it will be clear.
January 29, 2021 at 20:30
I’m confused… Pls, what’s PP10014?
January 30, 2021 at 05:34
Read some articles.
January 30, 2021 at 14:14
Hi Simón. Even ir Biden removes 10014 how we will get to interview? With covid embassies closed it looks imposible.
January 30, 2021 at 16:18
Yes I know. So we have to get that resolved to as I have already made clear.
January 29, 2021 at 19:35
I live in Cuba and my number is:
2021SA00004102
If possible an interview for me under this number?
January 29, 2021 at 19:45
There is risk for you. It is a high number of course., but also we don’t know when interviews will start. All you can do is wait and see.
January 29, 2021 at 19:55
Hi Brit.
I hope you are well.
I am a DV2021 and have a low case No. AF0005***. I submitted my DS260 on September 2. I got a response on the same day for submitting my documents which I did. I then got response immediately that my documents have been received.
My worry is that I have seen people with higher case numbers who have received another email confirming that their cases are ready for scheduling for interview once they become current.
I have not received the above email even though I became current several months ago.
Is it possible to receive 2 NL Without receiving this second email stating that the case is ready for scheduling?
What is you advise?
Thanks.
January 30, 2021 at 05:33
You can email KCC. You have probably missed the email.
January 29, 2021 at 20:16
Hi Brit good morning
I am Krishna from Nepal. But currently I am living at New Zealand I have won DV lottery 2020 and I have got my Visa as well. My concern is can I travel To USA now?!because my visa will be expired in March 20. Or what do you suggest me to do .
Thanks
January 30, 2021 at 05:33
No, you must wait until PP10014 is revoked. Please pay attention to my recent articles.
January 29, 2021 at 21:46
Hi Brit
My case number is 2021AS11xxx . I haven’t submitted my DS-260, as all interviews are on hold. Moreover, I read an old article for you that submitting a DS260 is serious as it will be recorded in USA system that I have made an application to immigrate and will be considered as “immigrant intent” which can make future visa applications harder to get approved.
However, my question is; do you advice me to submit DS-260 now? or I shall wait till situation about PP 10014 / 10052 & interviews scheduling is clear?
January 30, 2021 at 05:34
It’s your choice – you could just wait and see what happens for a couple of weeks more.
January 30, 2021 at 01:54
Hi Brit, With Biden removing the Muslim ban does it give an easy access for Iranians to process their cases without a hassle lik other country ppl? Or will they still hv strict background checking which consumes around 3-4 months n this wil limit their chances of getting visa?
January 30, 2021 at 05:36
There is no reason to believe the background checking will be faster.
January 30, 2021 at 13:50
Sorry for bumping up. Does it mean all iranians will nt be able to make their chance bcz of timeconsuming background checking?
January 30, 2021 at 16:17
Not all. But that could be a problem for some.
January 30, 2021 at 05:39
Hello Brit. Good morning from Africa. I’m a case number Af129**** and my number is on March VB. I did receive confirmation and supporting documents email. I wish to find out if I missed the ready for scheduling mail or I have to wait for my case to be current.
What are my chances of being interviews with AF12k number ???
Sorry for the impatience and thanks for constantly informing us. God bless
January 30, 2021 at 16:08
You can ask KCC about ready for scheduling. But really, it’s just a time for patience.
January 30, 2021 at 17:23
Please when did you receive ur confirmation email. I haven’t received mine. My CN AF12k
January 30, 2021 at 06:14
Dear Brit,
This is David above.
As advised, I have emailed KCC on this email – [email protected] and got an automated response.
They did not not directly respond to my query. What is the other way of reaching them before it’s too late?
Thanks.
January 30, 2021 at 15:14
Automated email is normal, they send it after every inquiry. It can take them a couple days to answer, especially in the current situation.
January 30, 2021 at 16:08
It won’t be too late. You can phone them.
January 30, 2021 at 08:18
Hello Brit,
Greetings again. My question is this if on Monday, Mayorkas is not confirm by the Senate to Head the DHS it means PP10014/52 will not be rescind on Tuesday? Also as you some one on the ground and your other sources is it 90% sure that PP10014/52 is among the immigration EOs to be rescind on Tuesday…
January 30, 2021 at 16:10
The announcements are supposed to include the task force to be led by Mayorkas. So that is the cause for the delay. They expect confirmation of Mayorkas on Monday evening. Yes I am >90% sure.
January 30, 2021 at 08:40
Hello dear Simon, thank you for all your help. I am so worried that I cannot open my number case 2021SA17XX anymore. it does nt give me the status like a week ago it was NVC but now I cannot enter, then I try again a 2nd time and it appears “the code entered does nt match the displayed” when I am writing perfectly copied So sad , Rita
January 30, 2021 at 12:11
Try using a different device. Should work
January 30, 2021 at 16:11
It works Rita.
January 30, 2021 at 10:33
Hello Simon, is it possible to change my address In JFK airport ? In my DS form my address is Miami and I want stay in New York. Is this cause any problem for me ? ?Thanks in advance
January 30, 2021 at 16:13
Yes you can do that.
January 30, 2021 at 12:45
Hello brit
I re opened this my ds 260 in this month to make some changes. And added army details( military).
I thought previously it is not needed to submit that details as I served as a medical professional there.
In November Kcc requested documents and I submitted them .
My question is do I need to submit militery records now to kcc or shall I wait until they ask for it.
January 30, 2021 at 16:16
Resubmit everything including the military documents.
January 30, 2021 at 16:32
hello brit thanks for your expertise and help I am dv 2021 winner eu23200 i have a question but what is meant by military documents? can the discharge form fit? or the matriculation extract? on the latter they replied that it takes time to receive it, thanks in advance for your response
January 30, 2021 at 16:34
Check the reciprocity page instructions.
January 30, 2021 at 16:47
Sorry brit where i can to see
January 30, 2021 at 16:50
You should already know this! It is part of the official instructions. Google reciprocity page.
January 30, 2021 at 16:52
Thanks??
January 30, 2021 at 17:21
Hi Britsimon, i am from Africa. Thanks for everything you are doing. My family and i are dv 2021 winners and our case number is 31000. We’ve submitted our ds260 form since 6 months ago yet we haven’t gotten an email for the next instruction for documents submission. Is there any chance for us?.
January 30, 2021 at 18:44
Well you are not late. Be a little patient and see what happens with the ban, embassy opening and so on.
January 30, 2021 at 18:10
Hi Brit .
is it better to do the interview in English than to do it in my native language (even if my English is not very good)?
January 30, 2021 at 18:45
I always think that it is good to try. The interviews are very simple.
January 30, 2021 at 20:51
thank you Brit . I will try it .
January 30, 2021 at 19:56
Hi Brit
My brother is winner Dv 2021
Is it a great number EU37xxx
If he can a chance for interview
Thank you very much
January 30, 2021 at 21:01
It is a high number so it is at risk.
January 30, 2021 at 20:10
Hello, while we are waiting for pp cancellation, I have the following question:
Can I change “adress in USA” which
I submited in ds260 where PR card goes, at POE? Is there any risk from CPB officer? Anything suspicious from their perspective? Because I need to change even State? Will they strictly ask about details and so on? Also have you ever heard that PR had gone to that first adress even after one changed or maybe lost somewhere in the way?
Thank you in advance,
January 30, 2021 at 21:00
You can change the address at the POE. No problem.
January 31, 2021 at 05:36
Hi Brit.
I believe you are well.
I want to be sure of this – at the top right hand side of DS260 summary page states “Your Case is Currently at ” – KCC.
Does that KCC changes at some point?
Thank you very much for your valuable advise.
January 31, 2021 at 15:53
No
January 31, 2021 at 05:54
Hi Brit, Currently we live in Australia. Do we need to apply the finger print check along with the police certificate ? Or will consulate accept only the police certificate ? I searched it on consulate Australian official website as well but i couldn’t find. Please clarify this issue . Thanks for your great help.
January 31, 2021 at 09:26
Its on the Reciprocity Schedule.
Same boat, a finger print check is preferred, however a name check is acceptable.
Make sure you select:
Purpose of Check, select Code ‘33’ – Immigration/Citizenship – for supply to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection.
DO NOT SELECT Code ‘35’.
Australian Federal Police certificates based on fingerprints are preferred, but a certificate not based on fingerprints is acceptable if it shows all aliases ever used.
There is a bit of a wait at the moment, I have been waiting almost a week to get mine processed.
January 31, 2021 at 15:54
It’s a concern that you don’t seem to have read the instructions. Make sure you do.If you had, you would have read the reciprocity page – here:
https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/australia.html
January 31, 2021 at 06:16
Hi, Simon
I am the DV 2021 selectee, my number is AS12XXX, do I have a chance for interview? Thank you so much!
January 31, 2021 at 15:55
Maybe – I just can’t make any predictions because we don’t know when interviews will start.
January 31, 2021 at 06:57
Hi Mr Brit I am a DV 2021 winner
I submitted the DS 260 and received Email from KCC requesting for documents so I revised my ds and found that the Mothers surname was wrong so send requesting for opening the form and they opened it and I corrected it and re send it .
So the question is Are they going to send again an email requesting for documents or no?
January 31, 2021 at 15:56
No.
January 31, 2021 at 09:13
Hi Brit,
Do we have to stamp translations of documents from the relevant authorities (ministry of foreign affairs, ministry of interior, etc…) or is it enough to stamp the originals and show unstamped translations?
January 31, 2021 at 16:00
It varies by country, so follow the reciprocity page for the countries concerned.
January 31, 2021 at 19:40
Thanks for your reply Brit.
The reciprocity page does not mention anything with regard to translations. The Embassy Checklist page (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/KHT-Khartoum.html) says:
“For each document (with the exception of your passport and photographs) please bring the authenticated original document, one certified photocopy, and a translation of any documents in a language other than English.”
But it doesn’t state whether translations have to be certified either. Does that imply that translations need not be certified?
January 31, 2021 at 20:47
Read this.
https://britsimonsays.com/faq/translation-requirement/
January 31, 2021 at 21:09
Whether or not you need translations or not is covered in the main instructions. You really need to read the instructions. Really.
February 1, 2021 at 22:03
I understand that I do need translations. But my question is, should I certify them from the issuing authorities of the original documents? I think should be something universal rather than country-specific. Do you know anyone who didn’t certify the translations and went through?
February 1, 2021 at 23:53
Whether they need certifying or not IS country specific, and if the reciprocity page doesn’t say to do something, then that something is not needed.
January 31, 2021 at 11:51
Hello Brit is it possible not to change the address but still stay in other state ? Because i prefer to deliver my green card at the old address and also i’m afraid of losing green card. Is it illegal ? Thnk’s in advance
January 31, 2021 at 16:01
No problem.
January 31, 2021 at 19:55
Hi, I have sent my documents to kcc at December 05 2020 and received an Automatic email that explainsed they received the documents and they will process them at 3 to 6 weeks and then will inform me but still I did not receive the conformation of my documents, should I send kcc email and ask them or it is normal? Thank you
January 31, 2021 at 21:13
It’s normal. Wait.

Thank you for your answer Mr. Simon,
What if i can’t get it ?! Because i have requested it throught the embassy and they requested a fingerprint from police department here in my country, something which is not possible in my country, what should i do in this case ?
Thank you again.
Regards.

You follow the instructions on the reciprocity page, keeping proof that you followed that instruction (not just your own assumed idea).
January 31, 2021 at 21:57
I will write an explanation letter and attache emails that i have sent to the embassy wishing that it will be okay !
Please this document should be sent to kcc or take it to the interview ?!
Regards.

You may not be listening. Have you followed the reciprocity page instructions. Yes or no?
January 31, 2021 at 22:21
Yes Sir, but see this section :
Applicants no longer living in Bahrain should follow the same procedure and provide the same documentation. However, they will also have to provide a set of fingerprints taken by local police in their country of residence.
In my country Algeria the police department don’t provide a set of fingerprints.

It says more than that. Just follow the instructions precisely and be prepared to prove that you have done so.

So I guess Mayorkas won’t be confirmed on Monday due to weather conditions…does that mean the EO’s are also postponed?
February 1, 2021 at 02:12
Possibly, yes.

1. Any 10 year bar would be over by now, so no problem.
2. No
3. Nothing
4. Because they haven’t started interviews at all yet there is some risk. Just wait and see.

Hi mr simon
I am dv 2021 I have error in country of chargability ,I selected Egypt instead of Libya (where I was born) .and I made another error by inserting the middle name missing one name. I correct all those errors in ds260, I want your opinion as I am afraid to be rejected because of that?!
Thanks in advance

Not all of it – just the part that Trump tried to add.

Any updates on Mayorkas and if it’s going to hold up tomorrow’s agenda?
February 1, 2021 at 15:48
Unfortunately it has been postponed for tomorrow due to snow. But lets hope that tomorrow we will have also the “Knock down ” of PP10014 .

Thanks!
So I guess Biden is still going to sign a few immigration related orders tomorrow!
I thought the delay with Mayorkas will postpone the whole thing…
Fingers crossed ?

Finally the speaker of the white house declare 5minutes ago that tomorrow president Biden will announce executive orders , so no delay
Congratulation

Greetings Simon.
Thank you once more for the marvelous job u are doing for us.
2021AF50xxx. Submitted DS260 ending November. Considering the situation at hand and the fast pace in which interview scheduling could start taking place when the executive order is removed, do you think I should go ahead and submit supporting documents even though I’ve not been asked yet?
Thanks

I’m not sure how fast it will be. You could send it it proactively, but I think it’s too early.
