Hello Brit. There is huge mistake in my birth cerficate which i realized later. I lost my original birth certificate and when i applied for another birthcertificate, the officer made mistake on my birth place which is false and dosent match with my other documents. I didn’t check it then and i sent it to KCC and i got reply from them. What do you think i should do now?
February 26, 2021 at 22:38
Get it corrected and resend it and all documents to KCC.
February 27, 2021 at 09:42
I recieved a mail from kCC saying, “required documents submitted” on August. What should I say while resubmiting the documents again? Please suggest me..
February 27, 2021 at 17:36
Use your own judgement.
February 28, 2021 at 16:31
Hey sim, they didn’t correct document saying that this can’t be undone because its already been issued and they provided me an official recommendation letter which proves that i was born in that particular district and there was mistake in printing another document. Do you think i should mail kcc that letter
February 28, 2021 at 23:30
Please tell me brit what should i do with that official letter. Wait till interview or sent it to kcc
March 1, 2021 at 14:38
Send it to KCC.

Hello dear Brit. Georgian embassy of USA also resumed immigrant visas.
February 28, 2021 at 15:26
This one is less encouraging than the Algeria statement. I would prefer to see them refer specifically to DV. But maybe we will get a good surprise.

Hello Brit Simon, I am a DV 2021 winner with case number AF2*** and also a married person. In this case my wife is nota joining me but will join me later due to financial problem and other factors. My Ds 260 forms and documents already sent and KCC has confirm that.
My question are
1.Will they deny me visa because my wife is not joining me but will join me later?
2.my police certificate will expire March next year, must I go for renewal before the interview or I can still use the current one which I did in September 2019?
3.Must I go to the interview with my Degree Certificate which I just completed but certificate not ready yet.
4. Should I be 100% hopeful I wil be given the visa because all my documents are intact n well checked?
5.Brother Simon, please just do me a favor, can I have your personal Whatsap number?
Thank you…
February 28, 2021 at 15:33
1. No, but think carefully what you mean by later. If you do not go through the DV process it will take two years to sponsor her later.
2. If you mean September 2020 then that will be acceptable. They are good up to 12 months.
3. Use your judgement.
4. The visa is not certain until it is in your hand.
5. I don’t give that out. Ask questions here.
February 26, 2021 at 15:28
hi brit,
as i told you last time i tested positive so i could not travel and my visa is expiring soon. I am a derivative 2020 visa holder. I am also a derivative of my father.
I would use the mehta extension.
Therefore, my family will join the USA and me later.
I wanted to know if my father should bring my immigrant package to my name given by the embassy or is it up to me to bring it ??
Is there a risk if he leaves before me?
could I use the mehta extension without any problem ??
February 26, 2021 at 22:43
You travel with your own package. I already answered the rest.
February 26, 2021 at 15:35
Hello Brit
Are anunciato going to fight for al Dv 2021 winners or only now limited to plaintiffs
February 26, 2021 at 22:43
They are still asking for class cert for DV2021 winners.
February 26, 2021 at 16:09
Hi Mr.Simon
Thank you very much for your help.
I have received request from KCC to submit Documents last year and they did not send me any thing back so I did send the documents 3 times to make sure they receive it, do you think that will affect my application or cause me any delays because still did not receive any ready to schedule email?!
February 26, 2021 at 22:44
Ask KCC if they are satisfied with your documents.
February 27, 2021 at 01:32
Dear Brit, please which email can I use to contact KCC. I am a 2020 selectee
February 27, 2021 at 17:14
Come on! It’s in my FAQ, it’s on your selected letter, and the instructions and you can google it.
February 26, 2021 at 16:11
Hi Simon
What is the minimum income requirement for a sponsor to be sponsoring 1 DV lottery winner ? Any link you could share?
Thanks a lot for the help since day 1
Gratitude
Andy

February 26, 2021 at 16:35
Hello Brit,
Thank you for everything you are doing for us!
When are we should expect to receive 2NL, at the beginning of the month or after the new Visa Bulletin is posted?
February 26, 2021 at 22:46
After the new VB probably.
February 26, 2021 at 16:54
Hello Simon, I have a few questions considering my DS-260 form, I haven’t found answers anywhere else, so maybe you can help. Recently I learned that I had my surname changed at the age of 5, which I didn’t know about. So basically I did not include this surname in the “Other names used” field. In addition, I forgot to include my housing from Work and Travel program in the address history (and I am not even sure if I should).
My case number is below 1000 (dv-2021), region is Europe, DS form has been checked back in July.
So, should I just bring to the interview new police certificate with my old surname and notify about these “mistakes” officer at the interview ? Or should I request a DS unlock ? I sent know how severe these mistakes are, PP10014 is gone, and I am not sure if unlocking is the right thing to do right now.
February 26, 2021 at 22:47
I would unlock. The name thing is important.
February 26, 2021 at 18:00
Hi Brit
I asked you about my case , My visa will be expired on 3rd March but unfortunately I have corona now and I have to stay at home 14 days and I can’t travel USA if I have positive corona
Will you please help me , how can move to protect my visa
February 26, 2021 at 22:08
Good evening
Due to my work I can not immigrate to the states now, but I can travel for 3 days next week while my visa is still valid. If I traveled
to a state with no quarantine requirement and then back home and put a friend’s address for the green card then he would send it to me via FedEx, will that be a reasonable solution?, or will it cause problems when I fully immigrate in 6 months?
Thank you
February 26, 2021 at 23:51
It won’t cause any problem except if you need to quarantine.
February 26, 2021 at 22:48
I already said you will have to rely on the extension.
February 26, 2021 at 18:44
Hi Mr Simon
My questions are about the documents sending
1- the instructions say : ” the email size shouldn’t be more than 30MB ” is the total size of the documents the thing that identifies the size of the email.
2- in many countries, when the student completes a high school, he has a military training for 45 days before he can attend a university. Is that what they mean by military records?
February 26, 2021 at 22:48
1. The statement is clear.
2. That would require military records, yes.
February 26, 2021 at 19:48
What if there are enough visas available till aug- sept. Will visa bulletin go current? I am from Nepal and my case number is 9500. What are my chances?
I saw some past data. I noticed one thing that those year which had below 4000 selectees went current for nepal. 7% cap is about 3700 and selectees for nepal this year is 3801 which is quite close,( there may be some rejected cases also) in that sense, are there any chances for to go current? I dont think 55k visas can be fulfilled till sept without judges order.
February 26, 2021 at 22:50
I don’t know. You have to wait and see.
February 26, 2021 at 20:35
Hi Brit, I hope you’re doing good.
Please is the police certificate valid for 12months across the globe or it’s applicable to only certain countries.
I’m Ghana it’s written on it that it valid for 6months. I need education, please.
February 26, 2021 at 22:52
It’s not important what Ghana says. It is what the USA says. 12 months.
February 26, 2021 at 20:44
Hi Brit!
I’m EU13XXX with Ready to be scheduled status and will most likely be current in the next bulletin. I reside in Sweden, which is part of the banned countries by the Schengen ban.
What do I do if KCC doesn’t schedule my interview due to schengen, do you advise me to try and change my interview location to a non-schengen country now?
The lawyers give confusing advise (or maybe i’m just getting confused), part of the time they say they aren’t challenging the covid visa bans and part of the time they say they it’s included in their suit. Not sure what to do.
February 26, 2021 at 20:57
You got your documents verified? I’m EU12k and I’ve not received yet confirmation of my documents
February 26, 2021 at 21:03
Hi Jack. I am EU12XXX, will be current in the coming bulletin. I have sent my documents in November but haven’t received the email “ready to be scheduled”. I am just curious how are they processing the numbers and decide who is ready to be scheduled?
February 26, 2021 at 21:22
Hi Sona!
I’m not sure how it works actually, I think Britsimon has more insight on that. Feel free to message me on telegram if you want though. Username jackadam0
February 27, 2021 at 15:49
Hi Sona, I’m EU19XXX and haven’t heard anything from Kentucky since submitting DS-260 in July. just curious when did you submit your DS 260 and how soon did they ask for documents?
February 26, 2021 at 22:53
Just wait a little.
February 27, 2021 at 22:42
Hello Jack! Can I have your email please? I am also a DV winner and I live in Stockholm. My email is [email protected]
Best regards
Victor
February 26, 2021 at 23:19

February 27, 2021 at 00:03
You simply ask them to unlock your DS260.
February 27, 2021 at 06:03
Hey! Hope u are from Ethiopia or Eritrea. Nys am from Ethiopia n wanted to ask you when did KCC send you requesting documents email?
February 27, 2021 at 10:57

https://britsimonsays.com/faq/how-do-i-unlock-my-ds260/
February 27, 2021 at 01:57
Thanks for all your efforts Sam ..
DS260 completed several months ago.
I sent my documents and await confirmation,
Today I check DS260, and I noticed that I forgot a country I visited during the past five years, (I had a lot of travels, so I forgot a number of them) Is this important ?? Should I request the opening of the DS260 file in order to add this country and provide complete information, or is it not an important matter and can be waived ??
February 27, 2021 at 17:15
Accuracy is important. Correct it.
February 28, 2021 at 00:03
thank you Simon .. I know you do a hard support here for everyone, please accept my full respect and my little donation I did already .
February 28, 2021 at 04:43
Thank you!!
February 27, 2021 at 03:21
Hello Simon,
DV2021 AF38*** winner.
I haven’t received e-mail from KCC asking for documents.
Should I send them now? I ask because I’ve seen a couple of post where you advise folks with CN lower and higher than mine in the same region (África) to submit docs.
Is it at a point where we should be proactively sending docs?
Thank you
February 27, 2021 at 17:17
Yes, send them.
February 27, 2021 at 03:36
Simon last time I asked you whether to send adoption decree for adopted children and you said “yes”. I haven’t explained much before,
1. I am the principal applicant and these children are derivatives already known by KCC.
2. The adopted children started to live with me starting September 2020, only 18 months.
3. Because we applied on October 2020 for DV 2021, So they were beneficiaries when I am selected for DV 2021
4. You said the decree must have been completed before two years but it’s only 18months since they started to live with me.
5. They have legal birth certificate
Therefore is it necessary to send the adoption decree to KCC once they are known as derivatives ?
Also, on the “ travel state”, I might have miss-understood but read that adoption decree only needed for being unable to present birth certificate
For the children.
February 27, 2021 at 04:36
Simon, is that not only a secondary evidence for unobtainable birth certificate to send adoption decree to KCC?
February 27, 2021 at 17:19
Let’s be clear. Adoption is a process where you gain legal parental rights to a child that is not your biological child or step child through marriage. At the interview, you will need to show you completed the adoption 2 years before that. So – be very clear what is the precise date of their adoption.
February 27, 2021 at 17:53
1. So the adoption decree needed only for interview?
2. I adopted them starting from August 26.2019 I think which is not two years
February 27, 2021 at 18:09
1. If you don’t have their birth certs, then follow procedures in your country to obtain them, OR try and get confirmation that in your country the adoption paperwork acts as a replacement of birth certs.
2. So you must interview after that date – in other words get a September interview.
February 27, 2021 at 04:15
Hi Brit, Thank you do much for your good effort for us. I’m DV 2021 selectee. Please I have two issues for clarification:
1. I read something this morning on Twitter from DV Observer captioned “DV2021 is now subject to PP10143, which according to US embassy in Poland needs to be lifted before DV2021 applications can be processed. Please how true is it and what is PP10143 about?
2. I learnt that the number of DV2021 selectees are about 133,000. Pls is this number the main selectees or it includes their derivatives?
February 27, 2021 at 17:24
1. This is not new news, the Schengen bans have always been in place. Whether we can stop embassies using that as an excuse to not interview people or not, we will see. We resolved that before, we will try again now.
2. Includes derivatives (as does the 55k global quota).
February 27, 2021 at 04:48
Do anyone dv 2021 receive 2nl(interview appointment email)?
February 27, 2021 at 17:25
Not yet.
February 27, 2021 at 08:30
Hello!
Im with CN 2021EU71xx! I sent scaned doc to KCC on September 15,2020 afer their request on september 3,2020. Since than I havent recive any response from them. An immigration lawer told me just to wait their response. I am concerned what should I do? What do You recomand? Thank you!
February 27, 2021 at 14:59
Please try sending documents again carefully. We also faced same situation and resent documents recently and got ready for schedule mail after 2 weeks.
February 27, 2021 at 15:37
So you send them the documents twice without being asked to? For what reason?
February 27, 2021 at 16:30
We were asked in September and sent them in September itself. But havent received ready for interview mail until Jan though we are current since dec VB.
February 27, 2021 at 17:34
You should email them. Most likely is that you made some mistake with the documents, so ask them if they have the documents and are satisfied with them.
Ignore the lawyer.
February 27, 2021 at 09:03
It is the third time I make my comment and didnt find it
Dear britsimon, i had chosen egypt (nationality)as country of chargbility instead of algeria(where I was born)؟!
Will I be refused?! Forget dv 2021 or what?!
February 27, 2021 at 17:34
I have answered you twice. I have told you it is not a problem.
February 27, 2021 at 09:50
Dear Simon,
Hope life is treating you well. A member of my family (an Iranian citizen) is a 2020 DV winner and has a valid DV visa until March 21st. I know the State Department issued NIE for DVs with valid visas who are subject to 14 day quarantine travel restriction. However, airlines including Qatar and Turkish are not boarding passengers without the 14 day quarantine and claim that the NIE has not been conveyed to them. What is the best solution at this point? Any advice?
Thanks.
February 27, 2021 at 17:37
Wait a few days.
February 27, 2021 at 11:44
I greet you BritSimon I am the winner of DV 2020 and my interview in April 2020 has been canceled. how condition now
February 27, 2021 at 17:49
You must wait for the final outcome of the Gomez case.
February 27, 2021 at 12:11
Good morning Brit, thanks for everything!
My number is 2021AS-13,000 after submitting my DS-260 in October, I haven’t received any email whatsoever from them.
1. Do you recommend I submit my documents without getting an email from them as the Asia numbers will reach 9000 next month (and i’m 13,000)
2. I live in Greece and after checking the reciprocation for visa page for police certificates, it says that as a non-Greek resident in Greece, the police certificates are sent directly from the Greek ministry of justice to the Us-embassy, and I’m not given any copy. How would I be able to then attach police certificate to my supporting documents?
Thank you so much!!
February 27, 2021 at 17:50
1. Yes
2. Show proof that you have applied for the PC.
February 27, 2021 at 12:57
Hi Simon. Thanks for your sane advice on this white knuckle DV2020 journey.
I have the visa from September 2020 which expires mid-March 2021. Ideally I would travel briefly to the USA to activate my process in early March, and return later in 2021. However, South Africa was added to the geographical ban list in January.
Question 1: does the blanket NIE enable direct travel from a red-listed country, without a 14 day neutral country stop over? (I have studied the travel.gov page, but find it difficult to clarify my position)
Question 2: would you suggest simply travelling later in the year and relying on the Mehta judgement which would preserve visas by 6 months?
February 27, 2021 at 17:52
1. Yes.
2. No
February 27, 2021 at 13:43
Hi Simon, my wife is a DV2021 winner. We got married before the result appears. We’re from african region and have submitted the ds-260 lately in February. The case number is below 12000. Was that let ?
February 27, 2021 at 17:53
No, it’s ok.
February 27, 2021 at 14:29
Hello ! Am dv winner below 8000 from africa. But I live in Europe. Do I need to change the location of my interview from Europe to Africa to avoid shengen ban ? I have already receive the confirmation for my documents. Thanks
February 27, 2021 at 17:53
You could do that if you can travel home.
February 27, 2021 at 14:57
Hi Simon,
21AS38XX, was ready for scheduling (not so sure now)
Timeline (for people wanting to unlock) + Question:
Simon kindly clarify the below and give your comments. To those who are hesitant to unlock the DS260, it is important to make necessary changes to avoid delay/denial in your applications.
I was ready for scheduling, but had to unlock my DS260 to correct a name issue. I sent an email to unlock without providing a specific reason (just that I need to make some corrections). They replied back to me within a few hours saying:
“Please provide an explanation as to why the DS-260(s) need(s) to be unlocked. Once KCC has received this explanation, we can proceed to unlock the requested DS-260(s).”
Immediately, I replied mentioning the specific correction to be made. They unlocked my DS260 roughly 10 mins later.
I corrected the DS260 the same day and submitted it (figured not to waste any time as the PP had been revoked the same day). Note: the correction I made would not change any of my documents submitted previously.
Regardless, after resubmitting the DS260, I sent an email to KCC asking whether I would need to send documents again as I’ve resubmitted my DS260. Now here’s the case:
The next day, they sent me the “Further DV Documents Required” with the same contents as the very first time (I assume that is a standard automated protocol whenever someone submits their DS260), so I immediately sent them the same documents as the very first time (no change in documents). They then sent me an automated response saying they’re processing my documents.
A few hours later, they sent me a reply to my first email after resubmission of the DS260 (the one where I asked whether I need to send documents again). Their reply is:
“Records indicate you have submitted a complete and valid DS-260 application for each family member, and you have provided all required documentation to the Kentucky Consular Center. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing. Please refer to the visa bulletin at https://travel.state.gov to locate the current numbers being processed. This bulletin is updated after the 15th day of each month. Once an interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via email to check dvlottery.state.gov.”
That sounds like good news, but 2 things aren’t making sense to me:
1) They haven’t verified if my documents (second time) are good to go. Basically, they didn’t send me a ready for scheduling email just like they did the first time.
2) The above email is a direct reply to the first email I sent them after resubmitting. At that time, they hadn’t requested for my documents again, and I didn’t resubmit the documents. So, this reply could be in accordance with my previous status in the process due to me being ready for scheduling before unlocking?
Anyways, after I received this reply, I sent them an email inquiring whether I am ready for scheduling. They didn’t reply directly to my question. They replied as below (this could be interesting for the people who are awaiting 2NLs):
“Scheduling for the DV 2021 program year has not yet begun. Please monitor Travel.State.gov for updates. Selectees will be notified by an email to the address they provided to check the Entrant Status Check (ESC) website as soon as an interview is scheduled. KCC cannot provide information as to when an interview date may become available for your case. Interviews are scheduled numerically according to assigned case numbers which have completed processing. The Department of State designates how many interviews will be scheduled each month according to visa availability. You may refer to the visa bulletin at travel.state.gov for the list of current numbers. This information is updated on the 15th day of each month thereafter. Please remember that selection for participation in the Diversity Visa Program is not a guarantee of a visa or of a visa interview.”
Question:
1) What is your take on this? Am I ready for scheduling (again)? Or do I need to wait for the Congratulations email directly saying that I am ready for scheduling as I did the first time?
And in that case, could it be 3-6 weeks again?
Regards
February 27, 2021 at 17:55
Please don’t write such lengthy questions. They already said you are ready, so you are overthinking everything.
February 27, 2021 at 18:07
Simon, this wasn’t only a question, but also a timeline for people who are in this situation where they are ready for scheduling and realise they made a mistake. It’s quite an aggravating and stressful feeling to be in that situation.
I’ve made that quite clear in the beginning of the comment.
Regards
February 27, 2021 at 21:38
Unfortunately I had to read the whole thing to get to the question.
February 27, 2021 at 15:52
Hi Brit. We are dv2021, parents of US citizen under 21. I read that some embassies from the schengen area might not be processing dv2021 because of the schengen ban, even if PP10014 has been revoked. We are from the schengen area, but we are not subject to the ban, according to the PP:
“ Section 1 of this proclamation shall not apply to:
….
(iv) any noncitizen who is the parent or legal guardian of a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, provided that the U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident is unmarried and under the age of 21;”
We are current in the March visa bulletin but we haven’t received the ready for schedule email yet. What do you think we should do?
February 27, 2021 at 18:01
Once you get the ready for scheduling email and you are current, contact KCC to make sure they realize you are exempt and then contact the embassy to say the same.
February 27, 2021 at 21:41
Thank you
February 27, 2021 at 17:24
Hii Simon, I saw several people have sent their documents to KCC without being asked to. My case number is 2021AS27XXX , shall I just sent them right away?
And, I have completed DS260 since June 2020 and all information are accurate 100%
They replied me 3x with same sentence of : “Your Forms have been received and Currently Processing, allow several weeks” since July till today.
So, Shall I ?
Thank You
Best Regards
February 27, 2021 at 18:04
You could do, but understand your case number is very high, therefore risky.
February 27, 2021 at 17:28
hi Simon
I’m a dual citizen of Iran and Australia currently on F1 visa in the U.S. My DV case number is 2021AS12xxx and I’m going for AOS. My question is regarding the timing of sending my documents to USCIS. Am I considered as a general AS number and can send my documents when my number is current in Asia’s numbers or Should I wait until my number is announced in Iran’s case numbers?
Thanks for your reply in advance.
February 27, 2021 at 17:53
There is a specific section regarding Iran on the VB and you have to be current under the Iran numbers, not Asia.
February 27, 2021 at 18:32
thank you
February 27, 2021 at 18:06
You already asked me and I answered. The Iran number.
February 27, 2021 at 18:32
thank you.
February 27, 2021 at 17:51
Hello, sir. tell me if, for example, because of the covid-19 test, the visa holder does not have time to enter. Can I move in later? The test is coming soon and I’m worried.
February 27, 2021 at 18:06
If you are DV2020 you would then have to use the extension granted by Judge Mehta.
February 27, 2021 at 20:35
thanks. I’m not worried anymore
February 27, 2021 at 20:55
Dear Simon,
Hope you doing well !
As i told you before, i am still waiting for the old police certificat from a country that i was living in before !
My CN is AF49k, can i send docs to kcc now ? With local police certificat only ? Knowing that i did not receive a request to submit them yet.
Thanks in advance Sir.
February 27, 2021 at 21:36
Why on earth would you do that? Your case number is FAR from being current. Wait!
February 27, 2021 at 21:28
The Algerian embassy announced that it will start the lottery interviews and some other embassies as well.
But there are embassies like the Embassy of Egypt that will not start the interviews yet
How will Kcc deal with this!!!!!
February 27, 2021 at 21:35
Obviously we will have to wait and see. Where have you seen that announcement from Algerian US Embassy?
February 27, 2021 at 21:40
From the embassy website
https://dz.usembassy.gov/u-s-embassy-algiers-resuming-limited-immigrant-visa-services/
February 28, 2021 at 04:32
Awesome – thanks. We will have to see what volume of interviews they can manage!
February 27, 2021 at 21:36
Hello Britsimon!
Thank you for the efforts you do for DV winners and the happiness I saw on your face and in your face while you was announcing that the proclamation is revoked shows how honest you are as a person. I really admire that.
We are originally from Egypt but we live in Sweden, but both embassies are closed due to coronavirus and not intending to open soon as they confirmed when I called the US embassy in Stockholm yesterday and he said literally that revokingthe proclamationdoes not mean that the embassywillscheduleinterviews. You have clearly said that the interview location is related to the current adress as well we have only 5 months left for the interviews, and here is my first question:
1- In case the coronavirus restrictions still remains in Sweden and both countries continue acting very slow in vaccination can we choose for example US embassy in Paris, Abu Dhabi or anywhere else because both embassies in Sweden or Egypt are not scheduling interviews?
Our case nr is AF 8××× which is a low number, and in a normal year we should have had our interview in January or February 2021 and here I have my second question:
2- Based on the visa bulletin and that our number been become current in the fifth visa bulletin does that mean our interview should be in August or September 2021? Or we should expect to be be scheduled in July 2021?
Best regards
Victor
February 28, 2021 at 12:10
Hi Victor,
I live in Sweden as well. Our embassy is not closed, they are just doing limited appointments that are exempt from the proclamations. 🙂
February 28, 2021 at 15:55
Hello Jack!
Thank you for your reply! Can you please send me your email or phone number? I need to think loudly and get advice of you.
March 1, 2021 at 22:48
1. No, you should wait for now – things might change.
2. I can’t predict.
February 27, 2021 at 22:15
Thank you for your efforts. I am a main winner of the 2021 lottery. I have completed all the procedures, but recently my husband changed his mind and does not want to emigrate and also go with me for an interview. Please what do i do. Thank you.
February 28, 2021 at 04:40
Assuming you have submitted his DS260, you cannot retract it. But you can go alone if you wish, simply let KCC or the embassy know.
February 28, 2021 at 05:51
Thank you
February 27, 2021 at 23:41
Hello Brit
Thanks for always being there for us.
My case number is AF79xxx and i haven’t receive the message asking me to submit my documents.
Do you advice me to submit the document ?
If no please can you predict when my case number will be current ?
Thank you.
February 28, 2021 at 04:43
Your number is extremely high and therefore risky. I’m not sure you will get a chance at all. All you can do is wait and see. Send your documents in the meantime if you wish.
February 28, 2021 at 03:42
Dear Brit, Do each embassy with aisa region request sponsorship during interviews? With ur experience n knowledge what are d embassies which dont request for it? Do nepal embassy request for sponsorship?
February 28, 2021 at 04:47
Nepal have been asking recently, yes.
February 28, 2021 at 03:51
Hi Simon,
Many thanks for your time. My case number is 2021AS000xxxx. I have sent my documents to KCC in August and my case number has become current in October. Should I wait for KCC to send me interview email or I can contact embassy to schedule interview?
Thank you
February 28, 2021 at 04:48
You have to wait for KCC.

Hi brithsimon,
I am 2020 visa holder
If we can’t catch the flight before the expiry date of my visa because of personal issues , can we depend on judge Mehta decision to travel after the expiry date 6 months ?
If so what is the procedure or what is required from Myside to avoid losing my visa ?
Thank you
Sa
February 28, 2021 at 05:18
If there is any way to travel before the expiry date, you should do that. Currently the Judge’s order is there, but we really don’t know how that will work.
March 1, 2021 at 20:56
Shall I ask the embassy or KCC?
March 1, 2021 at 22:45
No. Presumably you are delaying for some time – so wait. Things will become more clear.
February 28, 2021 at 06:02
Hi Brit,
I am DV 2021 selectee from Asia CN around 59XX, I have submitted all my required documents on last July 2020, till now I have heard nothing from KCC, should I wait or contact?
Regards,
February 28, 2021 at 06:17
Contact them.
February 28, 2021 at 06:05
Dear Brit,
I really appreciate the good work you are doing here. I am DV2021 AS23XXX, and I have couple of questions.
1. I had consulted you previously regarding filing the DS-260 and you agreed that I should wait and see how things move forward because filing the DS-260 would mean “Immigration Intent” which might effect future visa application. Considering the latest advancement, should I file the DS-260 or wait a little longer.
2. When I applied for the DV I included myself and my wife and I won the lottery being the prime applicant. Now me and my wife are separated but it is not official, and making it official might take more than six months. Should I file her DS-260 or not? If I choose not to file her DS-260, would it effect my application?
February 28, 2021 at 06:17
1. Your case number is risky. You will need to decide whether to gamble or not.
2. If you decide to file, you would submit your own DS260 and not hers.
February 28, 2021 at 11:48
Hi Simon!
I hope you are well 🙂
I need your help to clarify something. I sent an email to KCC to follow up on the processing of the supporting documents I sent to check if everything was ok and to know when I’ll receive the next notification with a scheduled interview. They replied to me saying that “my DS-260 form has been processed and I should have received, or will soon receive, an email from KCC giving me instructions to complete in order for my case to continue processing”. I want to remind my case number is 2021EU21XXX. Well, after receiving this quite confusing email, I entered in the entrant status check – Selectees – DS-260 form and found the following information: OMB CONTROL NUMBER: XXX-XXXX
FORM NUMBER: DS-260
EXPIRATION DATE: XX/XX/2022
ESTIMATED BURDEN: 155 MIN
Then there is a note saying:
NOTE: Data on this page must match the information as it is written in your passport or travel documents.
I have no idea what this means, I entered my passport info in the DS-260 as it appears in my passport. What does this mean? and what “estimated burden: 155 min” means?
Maybe is a good idea to contact KCC again and ask them what they need me to do? I don’t understand what this means.
Could you help me to get some clarity?
Thanks so much in advance.
Kindest regards,
Gala.
February 28, 2021 at 15:37
Ignore the burden etc. It’s not important at all.
The email suggests they don’t have your documents. Wait a few weeks then ask again. It may just mean they haven’t got to your documents yet because your number is quite high.
February 28, 2021 at 16:58
Ok I see. Thanks so much Simon!!
February 28, 2021 at 12:18
Dear Mr. Simon,
We can’t thank you enough for supporting us through this whole tough journey. Here we are, in America celebrating the great success after lots of failures. Now, we have a problem and we are kind of puzzled of how serious it is. When we reached the CBP LA, they haven’t asked for our yellow sealed pack. It’s with us now! How can we fix this problem (if it is?) Did they forget to ask us for it? We really dunno. Your help is much appreciated
February 28, 2021 at 16:14
Oh wow, that is only the second time I have heard that. They do need the package to process your case correctly.
I suggest you call CBP and ask them what you should do. They might arrange for you to go back to the airport, or perhaps pass the case to USCIS.

Hi Simon,
I am DV 2021 AF 13XXX and the interview probably will be soon. Back in August 2020, I have been requested to send my documents and I did.
I though the interview would be very soon but as you know we have been waiting. My Passport going to expire on Oct. and as far as I know it should be valid for 6 month at least in order to get the visa stamped on it. Is it true.
Anyway, I have already did the renewal in any case. But now I am looking forward to your advise and what do I have to do: send the renewed passport via email to the Documents or request to open the DS 260 or what is the correct action.
Appreciate your advise and support as usual.
February 28, 2021 at 15:57
Helo Mr Simon I wanna ask you about sponsor
My sponsor is include me and his sister family (she is also Dv2021 winner her husband and two children)

February 28, 2021 at 16:37
Bad idea.
February 28, 2021 at 16:57
What you mean ” bad idea”
I mean the sponsor will include two person ( me and his sister)
Me and his sister Dv2021 winner
Is can include all of us with take consider his annual income is too much
February 28, 2021 at 17:22
It’s a complication. Why introduce a complication?
February 28, 2021 at 17:39
Please advise me what I do?
If his annual income is enough where complication here?
February 28, 2021 at 18:30
I have answered this. You can choose whether to take the risk or not.
February 28, 2021 at 16:20
Take the old and new passports to the interview.
February 28, 2021 at 15:53
in your article “Receiving the SSN and Green Card” there is mention that “It (Green Card) is sent to the address in the DS260, and your last chance to change that was at the POE (port of entry).” However USCIS has mentioned that it is possible to change the delivery address after we file for our application (https://www.uscis.gov/forms/filing-guidance/how-to-track-delivery-of-your-green-card-employment-authorization-document-ead-and-travel-document) Hope you could help clarify the above for my situation below.
Basically, I want to know if I can still change the address, maybe a month after giving a new address at the POE.
I will be giving my sister’s new address at the POE but she might be moving address again, possibly to a different state, but she is unable to confirm when. I just want to make sure that there is no issue if she moves after the date of my POE and I can change it whenever I need to.
Your help in clarifying my doubts would be greatly appreciated.
February 28, 2021 at 16:36
It is your responsibility to inform USCIS when you move. However, the updating of the address does not work. So – provide an address that won’t change for 3 or 4 months just to receive the GC.
February 28, 2021 at 16:39
Hi dear i hope you are fine. We all thank you for your helpful job to help us.
I am from Ethiopia my case number is 2021AF21392 And it is current in April bit still am not get an email from KCC to submot documents.
My qusetion is
1. Can i send the documents with out they asking me? Or
2. I send an email?
Thanks a lot
February 28, 2021 at 17:23
1. Yes
2. If you want – but yeah – I recommend sending your documents
February 28, 2021 at 16:49
Hi Brit!
I haven’t received any confirmation email regarding my documents which I had sent to KCC on September 14th ! Should I resend the documents or wait for a while?
I inquired twice and got this reply;
Your DS-260 has been processed. You should have received, or will soon receive, an email from the Kentucky Consular Center giving you instructions to complete in order for your case to continue processing. Please follow the instructions in the email. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing. Please refer to the visa bulletin at travel.state.gov to locate the current numbers being processed. This bulletin is updated after the 15th day of each month. Once an interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via email to check dvlottery.state.gov.
After sending documents to [email protected], you will receive an automatic reply to your email. If there are no attachments, the auto reply explains there are no documents attached to the email. If there are attachments, the auto reply explains we received your email and are currently processing your documents. Please allow time for processing of your documents. Documents are processed in numerical order, based on lottery rank number. Once KCC has processed your documents, we will let you know if anything is missing or if we have received everything needed.
My case number is 6.8k from Nepal! With time elapsing, I’m afraid I won’t make it to the interview!! ??
February 28, 2021 at 17:27
You sent the documents too early and presumably without being asked. So – right now they may not have looked at them or they may have lost them. CXheck what you sent very carefully and watch my recent video to make sure you followed the instructions correctly. Once you have done that, wait a couple of weeks then inquire again.
March 1, 2021 at 00:58
No, I sent the documents only after being asked by KCC!
February 28, 2021 at 17:27
Do you know when can we expect interviews? Eu1*** they said that we are ready for scheduling.
Also, do you know anything about vaccine? Do we need to get them to be able to travel to USA?
February 28, 2021 at 18:29
Your interview may depend on whether your embassy is open or not.
Get the vaccine if you can. At the moment you need a negative PCR test to enter the USA.
February 28, 2021 at 17:45
Hello Brit,
The income of the person filling out the I-134 should be greater than that shown on the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
My question is the income is the gross income or the after tax income. Thank you.
February 28, 2021 at 18:41
Gross
