Finally US DoS have published the official announcement of DV2017 which will start tomorrow, October 1st and finish November 3rd.
There are no changes to the countries that are eligible.
Here are the dates.
DV 2017 Program: Online registration for the DV 2017 Program begins on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 12:00 noon, Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) (GMT-4), and concludes on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 12:00 noon, Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) (GMT-4).
Please come back tomorrow as I plan to publish a guide to help people avoid some of the standard mistakes. There is no need to rush to enter on the first day – the date of entry makes NO difference to chance of selection.
By the way – if you are a DV-2016 winner and you want to enter again – that is no problem at all!

Oh wow – that is tough. You will find out over the next couple of days. There will have been last minute approvals – BUT there cannot be approvals on October 1. So – in a couple of days the embassy will contact you to collect your passports.
Your reason for AP is very unfortunate. I wish you had taken your HS certificate. 🙁

1. Yes, she will charge to your country of birth. If you win, only uyou need to show that you meet the requirements for education etc. If SHE wins you would BOTH have to show education history at the interview.
2. List 1 child but since the child is a citizen it does not matter whether you include the child on the entry or not.

There are no formal age limits. However, education requirements mean that the minimum realistic age would be about 17 or 18. There are no upper age limits, but public charge reasons may limit the selectees to working age applicants.

Just wanted to ask you two things:
1) My wife is pregnant and the due date is April 20, 2016 (Before the results are out). how and when do I need to inform KCC (if my number is shortlisted).
2) If the baby is born by April end 2016. I will try to apply his/her passport straightaway; however what if the passport is delayed. Can I fill the DS260 without baby’s details. What would be the best possible way in this situation.

IF you are selected you will apply with the child. You will have plenty of time to get a passport for the child as no interview will take place until October at the very earliest (and September 2017 at the latest).
