Hi Simon,
when filling the Ds260, it asked if you are vaccinated for list of vaccines. I am not vaccinated for corona virus for instance. can I say yes and get vaccinated later after submitting or say no and explain I will get vaccinated.
July 21, 2023 at 00:50
No. Just get vaccinated. It’s required. Don’t lie.

how well does Angola embassy process interviews. for a case number 54*** for DV2024 selectee ?
July 21, 2023 at 00:50
There is a long time before that case will be ready, so there will be time to judge their performance next year.

Hello Mr. Simon, Thank you for educating the world on the DV Lottery. My Question is: Does Unblocking and updating my DV 260 Application form lead to any delay in processing my case?
August 27, 2023 at 09:10
No – and if you want proof you can read many examples here, including this one.

Hello Mr Brit,
I hope you’re doing well.
I have a question :
I live with a woman but we are not married yet. We have two little boys. We want to play DV2025. Can I play as the main single and add my two children as well as can my wife play as the single main and add our two children?
THANKS. God bless you.
September 4, 2023 at 11:44
Yes – that is exactly how you must enter. Both single, both listing the children. If either one is selected, you get married and process together.
September 5, 2023 at 12:59
Thank you very much Mr Brit.
May God bless you !

Hi Simon, this one is my second comment since the first seem to be disappear
I’m an applicant of 2024, I got an appointment interview which will be on October 05, 2023 so I have to gone through process but unfortunately during the medical examination I encountered abnormal sign on my lung which will cause the delay of my interview. Anyways, via my discussion with responding doctor said applicant suppose to get the second interview date before the old one expired but right now almost the day come but I haven’t got any notified so I decided to contact again to the hospital but doctor said that as via the email, embassy claim that they haven’t seen my name on their system list. So I called and discuss with the call center of my embassy they suggested me to ask the question directly through their email but the worried point is that my first interview is almost arrive but I haven’t got any notice. My question:
1. Should I just go and stick to my first interview date first or will just waiting? 2. Do you have any idea why this is appear to my case because it seems to unclear right now since embassy can’t find my name on their system? (My case number AS8xx) 3. Do you have any form of writing email to embassy?
Thank you for your kindness and I really appreciate your answer
October 4, 2023 at 14:31
I have answered you before.
1. Discuss with the embassy or just attend the interview.
2. I dont know
3. No

Hi Simon!
Have a questions about adding children for DV form. My friend divorced and he has 2 son under 21 and unmarried. But unfortunately he can’t get in touch with his children over the years. Because his wife took his children and gone. He remarried and wants to apply for GC on this year. As you know the instructions said you should add all your children to your form even if you were divorced. And also need to upload required photos to be eligible for GC but he doesn’t have access to get his children’s photos. What he should do in this case? Can he upload the older picture of his kids? Is this going to make his case ineligible when he is going to be the winner?
Regards,
JK

Strictly speaking he should not enter the lottery if he can’t get the photos of his kids.

You should not proceed with the process – you obviously didn’t follow the critical instructions and you will be disqualified.

Hello Mr Simon, my case number 2024AS15XXX, when I can expect my 2NL? I unlocked my DS260 form in October and made some changes to my DS 260 form in first week of October and resubmitted, will it be issue for my 2NL? My Embasy is Colombo in Sri Lanka, What are the documents I should submit after receiving 2NL?
October 21, 2023 at 14:51
It will be some months before your case number is current. In the meantime you can read the instructions including the embassy specific instructions, and that will make clear what documents you will need.

Hi Simon,
Entering DV2025 lottery in the Oceania pool. I am currently in the USA on a non-immigrant O1 working visa. For question 8 in the application I have to put my mailing address. That may well change in the USA over time, so can I put my family home address in NZ, as that will stay constant?
For question 9 it asks me the “country where you live today”. It says the country of eligibility is not related to where you live. I understand that as I am eligible as a NZ citizen, but currently am in the USA as I am filling in this form. Do I put the answer as USA for this? Or can I write NZ? I would likely go back to NZ if I was successful to do the interview, rather than adjust status in the US.
Thanks so much for advice – I must almost be the last one to complete it!

You would normally write your USA address.
You can choose which method to process, AOS or in your home country. That is not limited by the address.

Hello Brit,
I applied for wife and myself for the DV 2025, each as the main applicant and each as the derivative of the other (meaning 2 entries for the DV 2025 for us). Unfortunately, I didn’t add my wife’s middle for either of the entries; neither as the main applicant nor the derivative. In the event we are selected from any of the entries, will there be a remedy to rectify the error or this mistake is unpardonable of the DV lottery? Note: All her documents include the middle name which I omitted.
November 27, 2023 at 17:54
If selected you will complete an application form called the DS260, and you would make the correction there.

Hi Simon!
Can the number of family be the reason of visa denials in DV lottery. For example if family number is 4 or 5 including parents?

No

Hi Simon.
I got my 2NL yesterday, interview slated for 15th Feb.
I had earlier applied for a C1D visa & the interview is slated for 8th January.
1. Should I cancel my interview for C1D or reschedule it?
2. Can getting the C1D visa in January affect my interview in Feb?
3. I am trying to register for the interview in Feb but after logging into the website it only shows User account name & email. Does it mean it is ok?
December 16, 2023 at 19:56
1. Your decision.
2. No
3. I don’t know the system used by each embassy.

Hello
How r u doing sir I hope u r doing great
My sister’s 13 weeks old baby has no details on her DS260 form, her case is currently at the embassy, she emailed the visa unit of Nairobi a couple of weeks ago to unlock her forms to add the baby but they’re not responding and the appointment is on 9th Jan 2024
What do u think should be done before the appointment.
Thank you sir.
January 2, 2024 at 14:13
The baby is 3 months old. That means there was time to fix the DS260 before the case got scheduled. That is what your sister should have done. Now she will have to discuss with the embassy before the interview or at the interview.

Hi Simon.
I’ve played DV 2025 but I have two concerns:
1. I am a former recipient of the State Department exchange program with the J1 visa. this visa makes me ineligible for immigration for 2 years after the end of my program (my program ended in October 2022).
a) If I am selected in May 2024, do I have to wait until November 2024 to fill out the ds 260?
b) Wouldn’t being selected in May make me ineligible for an immigrant visa?
2. by mistake, i interchanged 2 letters in my surname. Instead of OuédrAOgo, i wrote OuedrOAgo. Is this going to be a problem?

Hi Simone,
Thank for your analysis and help.
I am a winner of dv 2024, from France and currently in the US under F1 visa.
Family situation : My spouse is still based in France and my kids are in the us with me. My spouse has the F2 visa he still based in France for work and come to visit sometime.
Initially I planed to do an AOS as we live here and my spouse has a F2 visa. Giving my case number is in the highest range based on your projection I think it will be safe for all of us to go for a CP.
My worry is that I have not filled the ds260 yet and planned to renew my visa first before filling it. I have the below question and will appreciate your help/recommendation
1. From your perspective for CN EU35xxx, if I fill the ds260 for 5 people in February will there be a risk for a CP?
2. I think my case will be current May/June, therefore filling in Feb leaves KCC at least 3 month to process. What do you think?
3. My spouse is currently in the state and we though of doing the medical visit here with an assigned doctor for AOS. If we get the medical visit result in the US can it be used for CP in France or are we required to do it again in France?
4. Given my family situation described above, do you think it is a good idea for my spouse to join us for an AOS?
Regards
January 6, 2024 at 15:41
1. There is “some” risk of course, but not because of the late submission.
2. I think your case will be later than that, but either way there is enough time to process the DS260.
3. It would have to be redone in France.
4. It’s your decision.
