This is excellent news for DV2020 cases. Huge relief for many people with high case numbers.
I will post a more detailed article later, but I at least wanted to show my analysis process and explain why I am feeling MUCH less pessimitic about DV2020 and high case numbers can rejoice. I AM NOT READY to say everyone will have a chance, I have only had this data for a couple of hours, but it does show much better chances than we were fearing.
My thoughts are explained in this video, which is long and rambling – but may be interesting for those that want to know more about where they stand.
July 11, 2019 at 18:34
Is there any chance for a second draw?
July 11, 2019 at 20:58
Maybe
July 17, 2019 at 05:36
So if there would be a second draw, and ones case no is higher than the highest we have seen… is there also a chance that the second drawers number never will go current? I’m still living in hope here since this new info got released. I’m sorry I’m advance if this question is irritating. You are doing such a great job. God bless you.
July 17, 2019 at 17:00
There is always a chance that cases don’t go current. 2nd draw cases would be higher, so that risk is greater for those cases (IF there even is a second draw).
July 11, 2019 at 19:03
Hey. My no is 33k and gonna go away for a winter backpacking in Asia. When you recon is best to book a return flight back to Europe? Now, I feel like my interview could happen anytime from march? ?
July 11, 2019 at 19:04
I meant obviously eu33k
July 11, 2019 at 20:57
Yeah, earlier than previous years. But make your plans and control the timing with document submission.
July 11, 2019 at 19:12
Is there any chance dv2020 second draw?
July 11, 2019 at 20:56
Maybe.
July 11, 2019 at 19:34
Thanks Brit for what I consider a good news
My case is really big AF64*** and I lose hope but I’ve met above AF80*** as you mentioned in the video something happening.
Even with this great case numbers this year the selectees in Africa is much lower that previous years.
I guess this year will be resembling 2017 and hope that the jumps will be bigger as there is more holes and with the documents submission procedure this year will be totally different or as we hope.
So wath do you think.
July 11, 2019 at 20:54
Stop trying to compare to previous years. Things have changed.

Hi Brit,
so the DV 2020 selectees confirms the number of case Number that will be processed?
For Oceania Region, total of 1378 selected ,so it is confirmed that the case number up to 1378 will be processed and those that are over than that does not have chances ??
so for Oceania Region will not be a rejoice for high case number for Dv 2020.
July 11, 2019 at 22:48

Thank you for all the hard work you put into this blog. I follow you religiously. I’ve asked you previously regarding my number DV2020OC20## in regard to being a safe number. I just watched your video and I’m thrilled at this news. I wanted to know if you think it’s ok for me to send through my DS260 form now? I’ve been holding off as per your suggestion.
Thank you

Hi Brit, thanks for this great new. We do appreciate all the efforts you do man to fill us in on the latest updates.
I am from morocco and my case number is in the range AF 40 xxx. I have not yet filled my dv260 form knowing that i have gotten married in mid march. My question is, do you think it is the perfect time for me to fill the form ? Thanks beforehand
July 12, 2019 at 14:44
There is no “perfect time”. Submit when you want.
July 12, 2019 at 15:21
Hi, big brother Brits. I must appreciate you for the wonderful job you’re voluntarily doing to see us succeed in this process, keep up the good work and thanks a million. There’s a saying that, (Never Stop Doing Good To Others Because Of Mosquitoes On Your Ears). No matter what you do in this world, they’ll always be some ungrateful humans. Never mind big brother. You’re the best??. God bless you?
July 12, 2019 at 15:28
Big brother, is it possible for someone to get marry in August before submitting his ds260 form, with the case no, 2020Af26Ă—Ă—Ă—

July 12, 2019 at 16:45
Most likely SA will never become current. High numbers like yours could never be processed.
July 12, 2019 at 17:48
@Burgundy, I think you are being too quick to be so certain. I agree that SA appears to have too many selectees BUT The majority of cases in SA are allocated to Cuba. Cuban selectees respond at lower rates, and may not be able to be process their cases. So – you are unwise to be so certain at this point.
July 13, 2019 at 19:52
Agreed
July 12, 2019 at 17:57
Hello Sir Im from Afghanistan as per your last recommendation I have not submitted my DS260 form yet my case number is 2020AS00022XXX when should I submit my DS260 and when interview expectation month ?
Thank you sir.

July 12, 2019 at 20:27
Hi,Mr simon thanks for your effort
My case number is so happy Af202071900
Is there hope to me
July 12, 2019 at 20:28
Possibly, yes. You will need to wait about 1 year…
July 12, 2019 at 21:08
hi Brit. Great efforts on all your blogs, very informative. I got selected, and have very low number 2020AS1X. I notices it late, I applied ds260 in 26 June. Still they did not ask me for document.
1. when the interview is expected?
2. is it probable they delay asking me for documents (or probable I get delayed in sending docs, specifically one doc: police report issuing) ? and results in shifting interview after october?
3. kids schools ends in beginning of june 2020. if we are approved in october, so, we have to make landing in usa, come back then finish kids school locally, then travel again to usa?
4. is it possible to break kids school and continue kids schooling is usa schools?
Frankly I prefer little later interview date.
thanks.
July 12, 2019 at 21:21
1. They will ask for documents over the next couple of months. To delay your case, simply delay sending your documents.
2. I have no idea what you are asking.
3. You could do that – or just start the kids in school.
4. Yes.
July 12, 2019 at 21:55
hi brit i have questions! 1. Is dv2020 underselected taking in consideration the low selectee mumbers. 2.this year we have few thousand less selectees than dv2019 which went current on all tegions month ago ,does that mean that there is high possibilty that also this year will go current 3. my case number is 2020eu47xxx what do you think ,i know you hate this question but just asking your opinion ? ?thanks

Hi brit If the select number is low and case number of this year is high some regions infact if second draw happen is it possible higher case number than previous case number or possible to fill holes
July 13, 2019 at 17:19
They would start from the highest numbers from the first draw.
July 14, 2019 at 13:42
Hello Brit,
I was selected for Dv 2020. I was married when I submitted my entry in October 2018. We got divorced this year in April. Do I still fill for my ex DS 260?

July 15, 2019 at 04:18

1- Is there is chance that I will receive 2NL?
2- when they gonna ask for documents?
Thanks Boss
July 15, 2019 at 04:32
You will wait a long time – probably a year before you are interviewed – so – wait and see how things go.
July 15, 2019 at 04:42
I was not selected in this dv2020.i am not not lucky my fourth year trying in vain ????
July 15, 2019 at 16:35

July 15, 2019 at 16:38
Can I have a chance in second lottery draw in October if I was not selected in the dv lottery .
July 16, 2019 at 00:46
The nature of a lottery means “yes”.
July 15, 2019 at 20:13
Keep trying….I have been entering since 2003 – and was finally selected in DV2020!!! Don’t give up…it may happen eventually.

HI Brit. Thank you for all your hard work. I have such a question. My case number is 2020EU00003***. I would like to know your thoughts regarding the DV2020 first visa bulletin number for October Europe region. Can we suppose to see high number for EU as during DV2020 there are many high case numbers?
Thanks in advane.
July 16, 2019 at 13:50

Every time someone gives a case number with year and region, an angel dies.
July 16, 2019 at 17:15
Good one. Lols
July 17, 2019 at 08:47
Sorry i forgot to mention, am a DV2020 selectee, CN AF28XX.
Hope no angel dies.
July 17, 2019 at 17:04
Ha, I meant giving the case number WITHOUT the year and region is a bad thing. Your number is not bad, you will wait a few months before KCC ask for documents.
July 17, 2019 at 15:22
Dear Brit,
Please can you let me know when will be the ideal time to submit DS260.
I have not done it yet? Is this a problem?

July 23, 2019 at 20:07
The quootas are by region not country. AF will take about 22,000 out of the quota.
July 23, 2019 at 21:31
What’s the quota for the SA region, if you don’t mind me asking?
July 23, 2019 at 13:47
Hello Brit!
I have two questions:
1 – I realized that I have entered my father’s surname without an accent. His surname is Futrò, but on the ds260 form I wrote Futro because he didn’t take the character ‘. is it okay?
2 – the name of my city of birth is very long and the characters were not enough. I put the name with the dot.
is it okay?
thanks Brit for all
July 23, 2019 at 21:05
1. Yes
2. probably.
July 23, 2019 at 21:20
Thanks Brit! For the question 2, the characters were not enough… The name of the city is “Santo Stefano di Camerino”, I wrote “S. Stefano C.” what do you say? I write to the kcc? Thanks for the support!
July 23, 2019 at 21:29
That’s fine – RELAX!
July 23, 2019 at 21:32
Thanks Brit for your time and patience 🙂
July 23, 2019 at 21:38
So demotivated seeing these results for Africa. South Africa (where I’m from) has such a low number of people selected compared to other African countries.
July 24, 2019 at 00:21
South Africans have the same chance as anyone else in the AF region. They have less selectees because they have less entries.
July 24, 2019 at 02:44
