This visa bulletin covers March interviews.
For those that are current, and have forms processed early enough, they can expect their 2NL in about 2 weeks from now. I know I am going to get a lot of people who will ask me this exact question – so let me say that again. 2NLs for March interviews will be sent in about two weeks time. They will include interviews for cases that have been made current in this latest visa bulletin AND backlog cases that were already current last month but the DS260 was submitted late.
We don’t know how far KCC will have progressed in terms of what submission dates will have been processed. Last month most 2NLs went to people who had submitted up to late August/early September(and a few in mid September). However, as I always point out – processing times for each case can be different, meaning two cases submitted on the same day may not be fully processed by the same day. As a guess I would imagine most submissions up to mid to late September, and even early October would have been processed in time – but once 2NLs for this month are out we will see better.
Read this link if you are unsure how to read the visa bulletin.
For those that cannot understand why the pace has slowed down, please read this post from months ago that explained the backlog effect on the VB. People should also read my analysis posts over the last week or so, and catch up with the CEASC data that I have published.
AFRICA – 18700(Last month 17200)
Country limit for Ethiopia lifted – meaning Ethiopia is the same as Africa
ASIA – 4900(Last month 4500)
Except
Nepal – 4350(Last month 3700)
EUROPE – 20800(Last month 19100)
OCEANIA – 850(Last month 750)
SOUTH AMERICA, and the CARIBBEAN – 800(Last month 750)
January 8, 2016 at 20:01
Hi Brit,
Only 400 people got current in Asia, which is really disappointing!!! How far do you think Asia can get current? Is there still plenty of hope for those with case numbers above 7000 like mine which is 7200?
January 8, 2016 at 20:10
I explained my thoughts on that in a series of posts – this being the conclusion.
https://britsimonsays.com/016-analysis-issued-rate-and-predictions/
January 8, 2016 at 20:04
I am very sad. Very slowly for all regions. My number is EU22xxx. It would not be safe even for interview on April. I am desperate.
Thank you for your work Dear Brit.
January 8, 2016 at 20:08
Why are you desperate. March – April – May – does it matter as long as you get the visa???
January 8, 2016 at 20:13
I do not know but I’m stressed. I would like to complete the process earlier. But these things can not be changed. thank you very much for your hard work. I learned a lot about the whole process thanks to you.
God bless you and your family.
January 10, 2016 at 20:16
HI Brit my case number is AF51### am I safe please
January 10, 2016 at 20:29

January 8, 2016 at 20:19
Thank you simon. Its going very slow for asia. Only 400 ? i hope this backlog effect gets over
January 8, 2016 at 20:20
Thx Brit, but I feel they’re gonna make the same number of people, i mean 300 to 400, for the next month!!! Do you agree with me? I’m really disappointed.
January 8, 2016 at 21:04
hi britsimon what do you say after February Visa Bulletin released is the same result is the recent expectations for you or there is a change For the better or for the worse or no change
thanks alot
January 8, 2016 at 22:45
I hadn’t put a lot of thought into it – people focus on VB speed too much. I had mentioned the VB would be slow – especially for AF region – so it is not a surprise.
January 8, 2016 at 21:26
hi simon!
but why it slow in african?
when they go arrived to AF21xxx?
is really stressed!!!!!!
January 8, 2016 at 22:42

January 8, 2016 at 22:02
hey Brit,
what does it mean Backlog, I cannot get it.
Thnx
January 8, 2016 at 22:41
There are people who are already current, but they submitted their DS260 late. Those cases cannot be scheduled yet – and they are the backlog.
January 8, 2016 at 22:53
Hi brit…
If an applicants passport and birth certificate information are the same as edv original lottery details , will there be a problem on school certificate arrangements of name.
U once said passport and birth certificate establish identity. …
Kindly offer yr valued opinion
January 8, 2016 at 23:43
That should be fine AS LONG AS the CO does not doubt the education document is yours….
January 8, 2016 at 22:55
My case number af21700 when I will be current 🙁 the number for this month is very slow.. Can it increases by 3000 next month? 🙁
January 8, 2016 at 23:42
Maybe. Wait and see….
January 9, 2016 at 00:38
thank you very much sir, I read the latest report which explains the status of the visa and the predictions you have made tarvers good on a detailed study well and I wanted to thank you again for all these efforts sir , you mention about AF that people with the same or lower number 47000 will be retained .
I want to know if more explanation is possible
Best regards
January 9, 2016 at 01:23
The four analysis posts make things very clear – what more could I explain???
January 9, 2016 at 00:51
In my little guess asia go only 400 it means in between case no 4500-4900 there are small no. Of. Nepali and large number of ROA. So next VB Nepal can increase 500-650 again.
January 9, 2016 at 01:22
No – the spread of numbers is quite uniform.
January 9, 2016 at 06:15
Hello simon thanks
January 9, 2016 at 06:17
Can you say plz how many times to wait for medical checkup and interview. Thanks.
January 9, 2016 at 06:23
Please be clear about your question
January 9, 2016 at 07:27

January 9, 2016 at 16:45

January 9, 2016 at 17:27
Hi Simon, need your expert advice, Case # AS5** , Submitted on Aug 14th, Reopened on Oct 14th , Resubmitted on 18th OCT. When i checked my Status with KCC on DEC first week they mentioned that its PENDING EMBASSY REVIEW, i thought i would get FEB interview after going through some members post and your replies to them. However till now i haven’t received any 2nd newsletter. The only thing i updated on my DS is university education, and corrected incorrect designation title as i updated job description on the job title area, bad mistake. When do u think i will get an interview. Or Woudlnt i receive 2nd
January 9, 2016 at 17:32
2NL in about 2 weeks or so – interview in March.
January 14, 2016 at 10:39
hi simon further your reply my status shows AT NVC. Are chances slim for march interview
January 14, 2016 at 16:08
No March interview 2NLs have been sent meaning all those cases say NVC. Wait.
January 15, 2016 at 10:16
Thanks Simon – No March interview means i will get only April interview. sorry if i misunderstood ur reply 🙂
January 9, 2016 at 17:35
I am current this month am expecting 2nl. All my documents are fine. But i have little fear in medical. Year ago i had my surgery of ear due to which i had lost little hearing power. Will it be problem for me to get visa?
January 9, 2016 at 18:42
No.
January 9, 2016 at 22:37
Good evening .
The visa bulletin is really slow and it is disquieting.

January 10, 2016 at 16:05

January 10, 2016 at 16:31

January 10, 2016 at 18:04
The forms themselves are reviewed every so often. It is not about your case – it is about the design of the form. You can ignore it.

In this pattern..
My first /last name
2016AS000048**
My birthday in.. Month/day/birthyear
And inquiry> sir will you please inform me about my ds260 processing..
They sent me auto reply in jan 10 that didn’t content my answer..
Will they sent me another email about my inquiry?
Or my pattern of emailing is wrong??
January 13, 2016 at 16:44
The auto reply never has useful information. Your email was correct – now you must wait as it is a busy time for them.
January 14, 2016 at 06:31

January 16, 2016 at 19:29
Maybe in February/March for a April/May interview.
January 17, 2016 at 13:04
What does lifted for Ethiopia means ?
January 17, 2016 at 16:00
Lifted in that context means the limit was removed. Ethiopia therefore has the same number as AF region.
January 19, 2016 at 16:30
@nancy where will you interview? Your case no is next mine, are you in Kenya?
January 19, 2016 at 18:20
Hello Brit,
My case no. is current but in DS260 form I have selected other document(I don’t have passport) in passport field. So if I get 2NL then can I unlock the DS260 form to fill the passport field? if can’t unlock what will happen?
January 19, 2016 at 18:21
You cannot unlock once you have the 2NL. So – you should obtain the passport and unlock the DS260 before you get the 2NL.
January 19, 2016 at 18:31
I haven’t created passport yet. So if I get the 2NL before my passport is ready then there will be problem? Or can I submit on interview day?
January 19, 2016 at 18:53
What are you waiting for?? You need a passport – get on with it!
You can submit it on the day of interview it is up to the CO how he/she handles that.
January 21, 2016 at 16:38
Thanks for your reply. Let see what will happen.
January 22, 2016 at 18:31

interview letters
January 23, 2016 at 12:14
hi brit i fill my DS260 on the End of october so today i tried to check again my ds 260 I found this message and I wanna to know what is it because I don’t have wife and children please I need your advice: this is the message that I saw Before we can process your Diversity Visa application, each applicant in your case must complete Form DS-260, the Online Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application. To access the online form, click on the link to the right of an applicant’s name below, under the “IV Application” heading. If a person in your family is not listed below, click the “Add Applicant” button to add him or her. Derivative applicants for the DV program include spouses or children under the age of 21 who meet the requirements of U.S. immigration law. Filling out an application does not guarantee that an individual will qualify as a derivative in your case. This can only be decided by a consular officer at your visa interview. If you have any questions, please contact the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) by email ( [email protected]) or by phone (Public Inquiry Phone Number 606-526-7500 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EDT Monday – Friday).
January 23, 2016 at 15:49
That is a standard message – but your DS260 is there – right?
January 23, 2016 at 18:09
Okay thank you uncle…be blessed…I was stressed but now I’m right…tks again
January 25, 2016 at 18:46
Dr, brtisimon when will be sent 2nd notfication letter for march interview?
January 25, 2016 at 20:15
This week.
February 3, 2016 at 22:49
Hi Simon – Thank you in advance for your advice. I’m very lucky – I have an interview in March. My dilemma is – the notification said it’s possible to reschedule the interview for a later date – which would be ideal for me to get everything organised – however – do you think this might jeopardise my chances? or even getting another interview? It’s just the “trying to sort out my life in 6 months from the interview date” issue.
February 3, 2016 at 23:01
Some people have rescheduled and found it worked badly for them. If you schedule to a different month your pre-allocated visa will be returned to KCC. Then, when you are later interviewed, the embassy will have to request a visa slot for you. Because this is out of the “norm” mistakes are sometimes made. So – it might be OK – it might not. You have to weigh that risk against the convenience.
As for the sorting out your life. More time will typically just give you more time to procrastinate….
And lastly, some people go within the 6 months for an activation trip – then return “home” to tie up loose ends. That first trip home can be up to 12 months.
February 4, 2016 at 20:45
Hi Mr Brit Simon, can you tell me did i do it right on the following:when i was selected this year 2016,and when i filled the ds-260 they send me an e-mail which number am i.in the application i put the address where i will live and the person where i will live.so now i am reading about a petitioner that i needed to be approved before my application was send.is that right or i can do that now? I am really confused about the sponsor and petitioner.is that the same? i have asked you previous which kind of documents do i need from
My sponsor and i found out only i-130form and affidavit support.i dont understand did i make a mistake about my sponsor.i am very confused.please help me
February 4, 2016 at 21:29
DV cases do not have a petitioner. You might be asked about financial support – depending on your circumstances. If your embassy asks for a financial support document then you can produce an I-134 from a “sponsor”.
February 5, 2016 at 02:35
Thank you!
December 11, 2016 at 03:23

Dear Simon, my question is when is my approximate interview date? My husband a DV lottery winner had filed a petition on behalf of me on February 29, 2016,,, it is going to be one year since the submission and still no words,, case number ATA201672xxxx thanks a lot!!!
February 5, 2017 at 20:15
I generally only advise on DV lottery cases, but if you check the visa bulletin you can see dates on the F2A category.
February 5, 2017 at 21:45
Dear Simon. My case 2017EU99XX. I have interview on March 2. But when i get my police record today (Republic of Uzbekistan) it says like this
“He was prosecuted under Art. 167 (theft by embezzlement) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan. definition Rishtan District Court of 06.12.2016 was released from punishment on the basis of the decision of the Senate of Oliy Majlis(Name of senate) of Uzbekistan “amnesty” from 11.14.2014
According to the article. 77 of the Criminal Code convicted in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan does not appear.”
What do you think the chance of geting visa? Please advise
February 5, 2017 at 22:17
The CO will want to know the circumstances of the crime and prosecution. Take any additional paperwork you have about the case. I cannot predict the outcome.
January 19, 2020 at 23:49
