August 2, 2019 at 12:33 am
Hi Brit! Please I have been placed on administrative processing for than 90 days and I have not heard anything from the embassy. What can I do because time is running out
August 2, 2019 at 5:39 am
Just wait, that’s all.
August 2, 2019 at 2:27 am
What you think about us embassy kabul that more cases still are in administration process. do they will fast in August,.
August 2, 2019 at 5:41 am
The security process cannot be rushed.
August 2, 2019 at 4:27 am
Heyy BritSimon, my case at ceac was READY for 6 weeks after my interview. It Was b/c of medical. When I complete my medical on July 31, it turned to AP on Aug 01.
Is it a good thing? Should I hope something?
You cannot assume anything from that update.
August 2, 2019 at 5:28 am
I’m a principal member of lottery dv 2020, i played as couple with no child but my wife is pregnant now don’t know if only if we can be call on interview, can they grant us visa provided she put to birth or not
August 2, 2019 at 9:14 am
you have done a good job, thank you so much as we are now preparing for interview. May God complete the good work which he have started in our lives.
Q1, In my country police clearance is valid for a year and i got mine in December 2018, so its within the period of the process but do you think i should update it be the interview in September?
August 2, 2019 at 2:31 pm
Did you watch the video where I addressed that EXACT question???
August 2, 2019 at 10:18 am
Hi Brit. Can the embassy tell and insist me to retire from my present (military) job to approve visa when visa issuance is not a guaranteed process at any stage? What can I do in such an instance? Because I am placed in AP for more than a month probably due to this reason. Thanks in advance.
August 2, 2019 at 2:42 pm
It is not for them to tell you what to do. But they can decide whether or not to give you a visa.
August 2, 2019 at 1:20 pm
Does anyone know what they do in medical examination what kind of tests they do ?
August 2, 2019 at 2:53 pm
It’s a normal medical. Nothing to be concerned about.
August 2, 2019 at 1:33 pm

August 2, 2019 at 3:47 pm
Hi BritSmion, I would like to ask one question regarding the documentation for interview. I changed my name in around 10 years ago. I was wondering if I need to provide any documentation to prove I have changed name?
I had submitted all the required documentation with my new name, KCC have replied they received my documentation and I have a interview scheduled next week.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!
August 2, 2019 at 5:17 pm
Yes you should take that proof to the interview.
August 3, 2019 at 1:52 pm

We have received out 2nl for September 18. I am worried about one of the applicants being aged out(turned 21 on 30 June; EU29***). Could you please refer me to the article of yours I can read about this or help me to calculate? I have been told that the Embassies use some type of formula is that true?
Thank you very much for the help you provide.
August 5, 2019 at 4:44 pm
You’ll be fine.
August 5, 2019 at 4:47 pm
By the way, given the limited time before the end of the month I strongly suggest you learn about CSPA and print out the information I provide in the link I gave for the interview. Embassies and COs often don’t understand the rule as well as they should – so giving them referenced guidance on how they should apply the rule may be critical to make sure you are approved before the end of the year.

Hi Brit, on my DS260 I wrote that I’ve to the US 2 times, but since I completed the form I’ve traveled once more. My interview is scheduled for 18th of September and when I received the email from the embassy they advised I review the DS 260 and ask them to unlock if necessary. So, should I unlock or could this be explained at the interview? I don’t want to take any chances, that’s why I’m asking, even though I think I know your answer (that I shouldn’t unlock my DS260). Thank you so much.
August 5, 2019 at 7:07 pm
No need to unlock.
August 6, 2019 at 12:25 am
dear sir can I apply for my brother over 21 years age or I should be us citizen first
August 6, 2019 at 12:58 am
Only a citizen can sponsor a sibling.
August 6, 2019 at 3:25 pm
Dear Brit Simon,
Good Day and Wish you Good Health.
My question regarding I-134
1. If I get a I-134 from a person in US, what he should do
a. Fill the -134 Form
b. Get copies of Bank statements and/or employment details or tax details fro self employed
** c. next step, NOT CLEAR to me. Where he need to send or file these docs?
Can you explain pls.
August 6, 2019 at 5:59 pm
Please always check the FAQ.
August 6, 2019 at 6:21 pm
I read the FAQ link for I-134
Still I need to confirm this from you
According to FAQ & state website, they ask to bring the I-134 & supporting Docs to the interview. **BUT** inside the “I-134 Instruction PDF”, it says “Where to File”. In that section, it gives a link. that link does not guide properly. That was my confusion.
Pls see the below Image extracted from “I-134 Instruction File” & this is the referred link ( http://www.uscis.gov/I-134 )
When I read this, I feel like I-134 need to be filed with USCIS
Pls advice & Thank you.
August 6, 2019 at 6:27 pm
You obviously didn’t read my link well. If you had you would have seen this –
“The original signed I-134 plus supporting documents is presented by the selectee at the interview IF requested. ”
That is clear isn’t it? I am about to update that to say original or scanned/emailed copy.

August 6, 2019 at 10:56 pm
My interview was on mid June but I completed medical on July 30. My passport was kept with the CO since my interview date. Ceac page reported READY until July 30, then AP until August 05 and now when I just checked ceac page I found that my status is changed to ISSUED.
Should I start celebrating??
August 6, 2019 at 11:27 pm
I would recommend you wait until it’s in your hands.
August 7, 2019 at 4:49 am
I have waited 14 months And 99% of the time, I waited patiently.
…Now waiting patiently again, until it’s in my hand.
August 7, 2019 at 1:51 pm

August 8, 2019 at 12:41 am
I can’t say there is no risk, there is some. That is why I recommend an I-134.
August 8, 2019 at 8:06 am
sorry my ignorance but what exactly is a I-134? and how to get it?
August 8, 2019 at 8:18 pm
August 12, 2019 at 5:16 pm
Do you remember the WEB LINK in the official website, which shows that DV applicants can use their assets and savings OR job offer to sponsor themselves?
August 7, 2019 at 7:11 pm
Totally off topic – but are you aware there’s a bug in this site that sometimes (most of the times actually) one can not see his post until about 24 hours later? I reckon this makes people write duplicate posts…
That is for moderation. It’s not a bug.
August 8, 2019 at 3:24 am
So how come it sometimes appears right away?
August 8, 2019 at 4:57 am
Once I approve a person to post – they are shown immediately.
August 8, 2019 at 12:38 pm
I had an Interview on 17th June . Then The Case was Put under the Administrative processing . Last week i got A call from The Embassy tosubmit My Passport . Its been A week that My Case is Still on AP. Can The Visa be granted After They request for The Passport or They are Still processing The visa？How long does it Take to Process？
August 8, 2019 at 8:21 pm
Timing varies. You just have to remain patient.
August 8, 2019 at 6:50 pm
Is it normal for the main applicant reference ( 2019AF28142 01 NBO ) to show issued while the derivative ( 2019AF28142 02 NBO) who is me, his wife to still show AP on CEAC 3 days after the interview and the CO congratulated us both and hasn’t not requested any additional document since ?
Further to that the pop up box on CEAC says that your visa hasn’t been issued and you will be notified on the collection process based on the instructions of your place of interview
August 8, 2019 at 8:33 pm
It’s normal in your case. So – be patient.

August 13, 2019 at 12:31 pm
Dear Mr. Simon,
during last month, in the Travel.state.gov website, they have mentioned about the SPONSOR related comment. In that they said, “personal assets” or “job offer” or “i-134”.
But seems like that section has been modified or removed from the website.
**Do you remember the WEB LINK in the official website, which shows that DV applicants can use their “assets / savings” OR “job offer” to sponsor themselves OR ELSE I-134? (I could not find it any where)**
August 13, 2019 at 1:58 pm
I explained it here:
August 15, 2019 at 12:40 pm
When we receive I-134 from a U.S. person, we submit the form and supporting documents to Embassy during the interview.
1. What will happen, if that person does not meet the required capacity OR some how black-listed for some reason? (Because we do not know the exact internal details of the person who submit I-134, even we know them on regular basis)
2. Is there any way that we can cross check or verify the details, prior to submit to Embassy?
August 15, 2019 at 5:16 pm
You are overthinking.
If the person is KNOWN to you, AND meets the income requirements AND provides the supporting documents – then it will be accepted.
August 15, 2019 at 3:21 pm
Good day to you.
I just read the Visa Bulletin September 2019 a moment ago and it enclosed a statement saying that “DV visa availability through the very end of FY-2019 cannot be taken for granted. Numbers could be exhausted prior to September 30.” Could it meant that the DV visa could still be exhausted prior the end of the program, especially for those in the end of the month. I am very concerned, because my medical report would only be ready on September 25 and deliver directly to embassy. At first, I was relieved after watching your DV-2019 final days earlier, saying that visa would not be run out for all regions. But now I am worry after reading the Bulletin. I am in the region of Asia. Do you think my case would be proceed on the 25 or visa might be run out by then?
August 15, 2019 at 5:31 pm
Globally, visas won’t run out – but some countries could reach cap. Egypt is one such country, and Nepal might also hit the capo. BUT was your interview scheduled for September or an earlier month? If it was in September then the visa is ALREADY allocated to your case. But if it was in an earlier month, the visa was allocated for that month only and the embassy would have to obtain a new visa allocation from KCC. Whilst visas might not run out – there is still a very short time for that request to be made.
August 16, 2019 at 4:38 am
Thank you so much for your prompt reply.
I did my interview in the month of August 2019, however due to my medical report needed further test to complete, hence it would only would be ready on September 25, 2019.
If assuming everything else okay, based on your experience, do you think the embassy be able to obtain the visa on time from KCC and issue it to me prior the end of the DV-2019 on September 30, 2019?
August 16, 2019 at 6:56 am
I don’t know. It’s risky.
