Each year we have some technical challenges and this year is no exception.
Many people have reported that they cannot submit their DS260. There are a number of reasons that can cause that. Here are the things to try:
Symptom | Possible solution |
“Your request cannot be processed at this time” | Try using a different browser. So if using Chrome, try Edge and so on. |
“Case number doesn’t match with case number” | Where you enter your case number, remove the leading zeros. So – where the case number is for example 2018AF000012345 , you would enter 2018AF12345. |
Form will not submit for a male under 26 | Click the link on the final page about selective service. Then the form will submit. |
Also remember you can save progress as you enter your DS260 – so save as you go.

DV is a good choice.
June 23, 2020 at 01:36
Dear Simon ,
I am a winner of DV2020 and I had the visa before the proclamation and now on 24 June expires.
In the mean time l am winner for DV2021 too with CN18xxxx .
1.Should I have to fulfill the DS260 for 2021 now or later?
2.If later when is the right time?
3.What should I have to do for the visa expiration of 2020?
4.The embassy in Albania, Europe is closed and they are waiting for instructions for us.Is it possible to be extended our visa??
June 23, 2020 at 01:53
So you can wait a while and see if the ban is challenged/blocked. If it is, process on the DV2020 case (assuming embassies reopen). If not, you can file the DS260 for the DV2021 case.
June 12, 2020 at 14:42
How long does it take from submission of DS260 to getting an interview? Because I have a case number of 2021AS257XX, and I plan to submit my DS260 in March next year, is that too early or late?
June 12, 2020 at 17:47
March would be OK
June 12, 2020 at 16:33
Hello Sir!
I’m a winner from DV2020 from EU with a case number about 55k. Now that region became current I call them to see if they were satisfied with my documents and the lady told me “PROCESS COMPLETED”
Now should I wait to be ready to schedule for a interview?
Thank you!
June 12, 2020 at 21:43
Yes.
Embassies are closed though – so it is not clear when we will have interviews.

Brit Hi,
I don’ t know if you saw my question on custody.
My daughter’s mother and I are not marry. I have been in custody of my daughter on a mutual understanding given that I have the means to take care and the bond she and I share. Her mother and I are on good terms and she is fully aware and supportive that I played DV with our kid. I am currently marry (not to my daughter’s mother though) and live with my wife and my daughter.
My Question:
1. Do I have to get a document or legal consent or something to show that her mother is in the know of her traveling to the USA with me during interview?
Thanks for the patience.
June 13, 2020 at 03:37
Hy mr there is this issue of friend of mine being selected for 2021 dv his initial Intery he was not having passport can this affect during his visa interview nd passport was a requirement
June 13, 2020 at 05:01
Yes of course. The new rule was there for a reason – not just to be ignored.
June 13, 2020 at 09:27
I’m a winner of 2021 DV. I’m married and my spouse is in the USA still seeking asylum. While playing the lottery, I mentioned in the application form that my spouse lives in the US. I live with our 3 kids in Africa. My interview location is my home country. What can I do to make sure me, my kids and husband benefit from this opportunity?
June 13, 2020 at 17:32
The best route would be for you to proceed with your win, with or without your husband. YOur husband would have to attend your interview with you to be processed at the same time. Igf he doesn’t do that, once you are approved and move to the USA you can petition to change his status then.
June 13, 2020 at 09:32
Hello Britsimon! I have just filled out the DS260 form and submitted it but I discovered a little mistake that in one of the previous addresses where I and my wife lived i wrote the correct street name in both but in hers I wrote nr 93 and in mine I wrote nr 96. I have been to USA recently and I had to fill out similar information before and the visa application everything was correct so they already have all my information from the visa I have which is still valid until 2029. Do I need to worry or even to ask KCC to reopen my application? Thanks in advance.
Regards
Victor
June 13, 2020 at 17:33
Doesn’t matter
June 25, 2020 at 23:28
I’m DV winner 2021.I have done a big mistake in DV form I gave the old photo of my husband which is already used in dv2016.so I really worried about it plz reply me
June 26, 2020 at 00:10
That was a foolsih risk. But you might be lucky if the CO is not noticing a difference in age.
June 13, 2020 at 14:17
Hi Brit
I am the lottery winner. Mistakenly i had enter edv surename not like my passport .
Edv
Surename:Aberathne hewage
First name : Ashani
middle name: Dinesha
But my passport surneme : Aberathna
Other names : Aberathna Hewage Ashani Dinesha
Edv surename exactly not match with my passport? Is any risk of disqualifying?
Pls advice me
June 13, 2020 at 17:55
There should be no risk as long as there are no fraud concerns. Complete your name in the DS260 matching the passport.
June 13, 2020 at 14:45
Hi Bri ,
My brother just won the DV lottery 2021,it happens the passport with the number he used in playing the DV just got expired this May.Now, he needs to fill in form DS 260 with a new passport number will it go well ?I said so because he tried using the old passport number the said system cannot accept. Kindly help me to understand weather a new passport number will be appropriate to fill form DS 260 though he used old passport number to play the lottery. His case numbe is AF 11***
Thanks in advance Bri and waiting for your kind response.
June 13, 2020 at 18:00
Complete the DS260 with the new passport. Provide proof of the old and new passports when submitting documents and at the interview.
June 13, 2020 at 18:54
Hello Brits, I am a dv winner with case number 2021AF0000052280. I played as married with three kids but I have a child that I have been staying with for over a year now. Can I include him when feeling my DS 260 and if yes, will it affect my visa issuance ? Also, when is the appropriate period for me to feel and submit my ds160
June 13, 2020 at 19:24
You cannot include a child that is not actually your child. If you have an adopted child, the adoption papers must have been finalized no less than two years before the interview.
June 25, 2020 at 06:30
Thanks brit.please Brit I wish to ask if it’s possible for a friend who is married with two kids be able to host me, my wife and our three kids. Wish to know if it will be of any effect for the granting of our visa
June 25, 2020 at 17:43
That does not affect the granting of the visa.
June 30, 2020 at 22:03
Hey Brits, I have been working on the form D260 and it’s pretty long and requires a good memory to really fill in all the informations as required. Please Brit my worry goes thus, on filling the form, I realised that my accademic records are required including dates, months and years I attended various institutions. I Wish to ask if in situations where I can’t remember the exact dates, can I just fill in the months and years of studies and if so, will it be if any impact to me?
July 1, 2020 at 00:07
That’s ok. You just do the best you can.
June 13, 2020 at 21:30
i am a winner for 2021 dvlottery i submitted my ds260 online visa application form but realised i made a mistake with my course of study instead of bachelor of arts in art education i typed bachelor of arts in education but the actual answer should be my majored course which is ceramics and with the date i completed instead of 25th july, 2014 i typed 30th july, 2014
i have sent an email to KCC to unlock my ds260 to revise my info, will it delay or deny my interview and will that deny me visa?
June 14, 2020 at 00:51
No and No
June 14, 2020 at 01:37
Thanks very much Brit for the reply, please follow up questions
1. i want to know if KCC will send me an email notifying me of the unlocking of my Ds260 forms and when will that be done?
2. Can i submit my Documents to KCC or i should wait for the unlocking of the Ds260 forms before i send the documents?
June 14, 2020 at 04:08
1. They normally send a confirmation, yes. How long varies.
2. Either way.
June 16, 2020 at 21:34
Thanks Brits, please can I send the unlock request email again to KCC since the first time I sent it on saturday? Though they have acknowledge receipt of my mail with their auto reply email message, I am very worried
2.After the form is unlocked can I wait to submit around August my case number is 2021AF00018xxx
June 16, 2020 at 22:59
Just wait for them to get to you – there is no need to rush.
June 14, 2020 at 04:40
Hi Brit, I was selected for 2021 Entry. My CN is 2021AF00017*** I have not yet been able to work on my DS260. I am planning to do that in September 2020.
1. Will September be very late for me to submit my Ds260?
2. Around what month should I expect to be interviewed?
I still need to do my board exam for my pharmacy course and I don’t want to rush things. I just want to have an idea.
Thanks once again for all the guidance.
June 14, 2020 at 05:10
1. No
2. Early 2021
June 14, 2020 at 15:33
Hello Britsimon! I have a question which is disappointing me.
We are 2021 dv lottery winners. My wife who been selected and me and the children are listed under her name. Originally I am from Egypt but I become European citizen in 2014. In 2014 I have got the US visa but I did not travel. In 2018 I changed my first and lat name in Europe so my new name in Europe is completely different that the one in the Egyptian passport. So two nationalities with two different names. In 2019 I wanted to travel for a visit to the USA but when I called the embassy to check I been informed that I have to get a new visa with the new name because I have changed my name and that could cause confusion at the airport in USA and thats why I had to fill out a new application with all my previous data, new data, data of the Egyptian passport, old Swedish passport and the new passport with the new name. Then everything went we and I been to the USA last February and everything were fine. When my wife applied for the dv lottery she add me with the new European name and she mentioned that I have Egyptian nationality. After we won i filled out the DS260 with new name BUT in the field which says write your name as in your native language i wrote my name in Arabic as it is written in the Egyptian passport which is totally different so I wrote Victor Nilsson and my name in arabic is Emad Ragheb Hanna (in arabic letters) , is that wrong? I was so so detailed in the DS260 about my nationalities, my passports, my old and new visas and that u changed my name do you think that could cause a problem or disqualify our case?
June 14, 2020 at 19:00
You need to make sure the DS260 has the old name in other names used.
Then in an interview make sure you have the documentation for the legal name change.
June 14, 2020 at 21:58
Hey Brit. I was just reading about the mess that is DV 2020 and its winners. Do you think they will get to be interviewed? And do you think that DV 2021 are safe in regards to suffering the same difficulties? I am a 2021 winner and i’m a little anxious about that.
June 15, 2020 at 03:18
There is not time to interview all the DV2020 winners that want an interview.
As for 2021 – well that remains to be seen. If this year has taught us anything – it should be that nothing is certain…
June 14, 2020 at 19:06
I have already did and I have a proof from the authorities. So you think I should not worry? Thanks in advance
June 14, 2020 at 20:28
Dear Simon , i have played the Dv lottery 2021 and i have been selected. In fact i have applied to the DV lottery with my birth citizenship passport (Ivory Coast) that has expired in february 2020.And in the month of March 2020 i have granted the Belgium Citizenship, the country where i am resident. Now i have a Belgium passport . Can i fill the DS-260 form with my belgium passport number ? Thanks for your help
June 15, 2020 at 02:51
Your DS260 should list both. Then you should be prepared to show both passports at interview and provide both when you send documents to KCC.
June 15, 2020 at 21:18
Hello Bri ,
I won the DV lottery 2021, My passport will expire in March 2021. a friend of mine told me that it can take more than 8 months to have an interview , means my passport may expire during the processing of my application.I wanted to do another passport before filling the form DS 260 with a new passport number, but it can take more than to 6 months to have a new passport in my country. My case numbe is AF000 14***
should I submit the DS260 Form now and just go to the interview with my new passport ?
should I wait till the end of the year to submit the Ds 260 after receiving my new passport? based on my case number, will it not be late ? if not, what it the latest time base on my case #
Thanks in advance Bri for your kind response.
June 16, 2020 at 00:12
“should I submit the DS260 Form now and just go to the interview with my new passport ”
Yes – but take the old one too.
You can delay if you prefer – that will be OK.
June 15, 2020 at 21:59
Hello, let me ask you a question please. I know you say wait and see but you are more informed than me so I want to ask for your expertise advice and opinion. If the executive order gets extended, can there be something do from a legal point of view? Can he actually just extend it for as long as he wants?
As for 2021 winners with low case numbers, what is your opinion? Can we have hope or are we delusional? I am very very very scared. Please and thank you so vry much
June 16, 2020 at 00:16
There is an election in November. Things are likely to change…
June 16, 2020 at 06:25
I am sorry, I do not understand What do you mean? thank you sir
June 16, 2020 at 18:21
In November there is a presidential election. I hope the moron we currently have in the Whitehouse will lose so that by January we have a new president. That new president would hopefully remove some or all of the bans that Trump implemented.
June 16, 2020 at 00:57
Hi simon, thanks for everything you do here! This is definitely the best place on the internet to get info on the DV lottery! Here is my question, my sponsor won the DV and has been in the USA for just 3 years! And she is working! Please not that she is not yet a citizen! Is it safe to use her as my sponsor? My case number is AF19xxx is that a good number? And can i fill the form now or wait? Thank you!
June 16, 2020 at 17:43
Yes your sponsor can sponsor you as an LPR. Case number is fine.
June 16, 2020 at 18:41
Hey Brit,I won the dv2021 as the main applicant and I equally played with my family, after going through the summary information form, I realised that my last child’s name had a letter ommission in the spelling .I wish to know whether it will have any effect for me to get a visa and if yes, then what can I do to prevent it.
June 16, 2020 at 19:25
No problem. Just make it accurate on the DS260
June 16, 2020 at 23:14
Hi Brit, please how long will it take for KCC to respond for me to scan the required documents to them after submitting the DS 260.After they acknowledged receipt.Thank you
June 17, 2020 at 02:31
It varies. If you are DV2021, just be patient.
June 17, 2020 at 01:59
Hi Brit,
I’m a DV2021 winner with a low case number. I’m a Sri Lankan and I’m working in Singapore since last year holding a working VISA.
When I submit the DV lottery entry I’ve provided my present address in Singapore and also in the very first page of DS-260 form, (Getting Started page) there is a section to select interview location,
I’ve selected Singapore as it was the location at the time I submitted the DV lottery entry and where I live at the moment. I thought it would be easy to be interviewed in Singapore, but when I checked with some friends who are early winners they recommended to select Sri Lanka as the interview location cause it would be easy to communicate between USA Embassy Sri Lanka and Education Ministry & other authorities rather than USA Embassy Singapore.
The problem is even though I didn’t submit DS-260 form, I couldn’t change the interview location in the Getting Started page anymore. I’m not sure how to unlock it. I would like to schedule my interview in Sri Lanka.
Could you please advise what should I do?
Best Regards.
June 17, 2020 at 02:51
You don’t pick where you get interviewed, is is allocated by KCC based on your present address.
June 17, 2020 at 07:20
Thank you for your quick response,
I’ve tried changing my present address to my Sri Lanka address, but it didn’t change in this starting page.
I would like to show the screenshot of the first page of DS-260 form.
Please check this Screenshot.
https://ibb.co/25zfRcd
As shown in the Screenshot Singapore was autoselected as DV lottery entry.
But at the very first time, I was able to select options in this red box.
I’ve selected the first option.
But as I explain, now I need to select option 2 and select Sri Lanka as the input, but it seems this page couldn’t editable anymore.
Could you please advise what should I do?
Best regards.
NOTE: This screenshot contain no sensitive data and it will automatically deleted after 72 hours.
June 17, 2020 at 17:43
I know how the form looks, but again I am telling you that regardless of what you select the first time, your interview location is chosen by KCC. Furthermore, you cannot change the location selected after the initial selection.
June 17, 2020 at 14:24
MR. Brits
i still cant get access to the ds-260 after all i read on your page. would it be good if i call kcc to inquire
June 17, 2020 at 18:42
I had someone provide their details who like you was CONVINCED they had followed all my tips and had a technical problem. I was able to access their DS260 page by following my own tips.
June 19, 2020 at 01:03
hello brit
it is the first year, DV ENTRY requires passport number 2021
I wrote my full name in the last name field and chose no first name or middle name
Because the name appears FULL NAME without (dividing it into the first, middle and last name )in the passport
Amending it in form ds 260 will lead to rejection in the interview?
Is it necessary to contact Kentucky? And what did he tell them
Show me the word NFN before my name in the winning letter
June 19, 2020 at 01:13
No, just enter it correctly in the DS260.
June 19, 2020 at 01:36

THANKS BRIT
June 19, 2020 at 01:56
Get it right in the DS260. Ghana are particularly sensitive given the high numbers of fraud they see.
August 12, 2020 at 12:34
Thank you so much
Should I use the field “other name used ” and write the names listed in DV Entry ??.knowing that i submit ds ,send documents and received ready for schedule interview
August 12, 2020 at 23:50
Yes
August 13, 2020 at 02:47
This requires sending a kcc to unlock ds260 after recived email”Congratulations! Our records indicate that you have submitted all documentation required by the Kentucky Consular Center and are ready to be scheduled for an interview ”
Is there a problem ((sending the e-mail kcc unlock ds260 to Insertion previously names i have identified been by in dv entry at “other name used” field)) after recived email Congratulations! Our records…….?
thanks
August 13, 2020 at 04:00
Name accuracy is important. So – I answered already.
June 19, 2020 at 20:06
Hello Mr Bri,
Thank you so much for all your help.
I have been struggling but can’t seem to access the ds 260 . I have read all your information about completing the form but any time I tried to access it, the will ask for case number the after ask for alien registration number.
Please if you can help and put me in the right path I will really be grateful. Please help me with the link too. Thanks
June 19, 2020 at 20:40
You need your case number and confirmation code (that you used to check your win).
June 20, 2020 at 05:55
Hi Simon, Do we need financial acount in order to fill DS 260 form. and is it compulsory?
June 20, 2020 at 17:30
No
June 21, 2020 at 20:29
Hello Sir, I’d like to, first of all, thank you for your responsiveness. Most of your concise responses have been very helpful to me. However, I a few questions I would like to ask:
I have a dual nationality and I mentioned it in my DS-260 form. I have a passport of my country of origine A, which I am using for my DV application, but I don’t have a passport for my country B. I claim this second nationality on the basis that my late father was born in country B making me a citizen by descent (and that’s permitted by the laws of country B). But the issue is that I don’t have anything to prove that he was born there since all his civil documents were mishandled after his demise. So, Sir, would my possible inability to prove how I have this second nationality be a cause of worry for me at the interview?
June 21, 2020 at 22:28
Doesn’t matter. You will proceed under the passport for country A.
June 21, 2020 at 23:35
Dear Simon, I have won the DV2021 lottery, however I am subject to the “2 year rule” based on my previous J1 visa. Since my case number is EU35xxx, my interview is not going to be scheduled until March 2021 as I understood. Regarding the “2 year rule”, I will have fulfilled that requirement in December 2020.
Should I wait until I fulfill that requirement, or to submit the DS260 now, and say that I have not fulfilled it yet, and then bring it up on the interview that I have fulfilled it?
Is it too late to send my DS260 in December? And will they only take into consideration only the info from the DS260 or will they accept that I have fulfilled the rule by March, even if (if I submit the DS260 right now) say that I have not yet fulfilled the 2 year requirement. Thank you very much in advance.
June 22, 2020 at 17:34
You should have fulfilled the requirement at interview. December submission will not be too late, if you want to delay.
June 22, 2020 at 11:03
Hello brit, first of all would like to thank you for your work and quick responses to everyone.
My case number is 2021AS0000264** i would like to ask that when should i submit my ds260 since i have filled the form but have few queries regarding it
June 22, 2020 at 18:28
Your case number is high. That means:
1. There is no point in rushing to submit.
2. You should wait until we know more before submitting because your number may be too high to get an interview.
June 22, 2020 at 11:05
Helllo,
What number should I enter into the “Number of educational institutions attended” field, if I’ve already finished the High School, but am STILL IN THE FINAL YEAR OF UNIVERSITY
There are two possible answers to this question, however both of them seem flawed to me.
1. Enter “1” indicating only High School.
Problem: The form CLEARLY states that the number of institutions ATTENDED needs to be filled in, not the number of the FINISHED institutions.
2. Enter “2” to indicate University, as well as the High School.
Problem: The form does not allow to list an institution WITHOUT THE FINISH DATE.
So.. Needless to say, I’m a bit stuck there . What route should I take?
June 22, 2020 at 18:29
Your present occupation covers the University attendance. The ATTENDED question is for history.
June 22, 2020 at 12:09
Hi,
I’m a winner of DV Lottery 2021. I already filled out my DS-260 form, and printed the confirmation. I am filling out my husband’s DS-260 form, but at the end I can not submit, I put my case number and his passport number. When I press submit it shows a red arrow next to “Enter your passport/number”. I don’t understand why? What can I do in this case? What are the steps that I have to follow?
June 22, 2020 at 19:19
I cannot guess what could be the problem. Please carefully check the answers given. If your husband is under 26 years old, read the article above.
June 22, 2020 at 18:51
Hi Simon
thank you for the work you do.
If a case number is found to be too high to obtain an interview, then what are you recommaending
that we do?
Then you said to wait
thanh you
June 22, 2020 at 20:02
I’m just saying on high case number there is no benefit to rushing, and when we have selectee numbers we can discuss case numbers with more logic.

Hello Mr. Brit Simon, thank you very much for your continued help. My name is David Rabuda from Kenya and I am DV2021 winner and I have been trying to fill out my DS 260 form for the last 5 days. At first I managed to fill out most of my information and saved it to finish later on. Since Friday I have been trying to get back to the DS260 but every time I log in and put my number then put my other info, family name, confirmation number, and other details it either goes back to ask for my case number again or if it proceeds to personal information and family it refuses to go further beyond. I have tried using different browsers: Edge, Chrome, Brave and Firefox. I checked your previous suggestions but I am still stranded. Could you please advise me on way forward. Thank you very much.

Hi Brit,
I am winner of DV2021.
When I should apply for DS-260, this year or in 2021 ?
And when my VISA will be approved, during which time I should go to US ?
Thanks
June 24, 2020 at 19:35
You can file your DS260 as soon as you want, but depending the the ban and your case number the timing is not certain.
June 26, 2020 at 19:01
please i have won dv lottery 2021 and i have submitted my ds 260 application, they first gave me an email i printed it, but wants to know how can you submit your documents an photo
June 27, 2020 at 05:03
They will email when they want documents.
June 27, 2020 at 12:55
Okay thanks, but what if my passport the one I used for the application will expire January 2022 can it affect me in any way or should I renew it.
June 27, 2020 at 17:23
No
June 30, 2020 at 14:11
Is the US president Suspension of immigrants going to affect DV 2021 lottery winners whose case numbers are in the beginning hence those to attend their interviews this year or those with case numbers later next year.
June 30, 2020 at 16:37
Please any reply to my question
June 30, 2020 at 23:02
Please exercise some patience.
June 30, 2020 at 22:19
If the ban remains in place it “costs us” the first three months (unless extended). That means less time to interview the cases, but that would take away time from high case numbers.
July 1, 2020 at 07:45
Will it affect me because my case number is very high 2021AFxxxxx550..…. Is it too much high
July 1, 2020 at 18:46
I don’t know. And the way you wrote your case number is meaningless. It could mean 550, 5500, 55000, or 550000.
July 1, 2020 at 20:15
My case number is 2021AF00055****
July 3, 2020 at 18:26
Will I be affected by the cut off visa bulleting if my case number is 2021000AF55xxx
June 26, 2020 at 23:18
Hi Brit,
I am a DV2021 selectee with the case number 2021AF00016***. I am seeing many people speaking about submitting form DS260, which I cannot find. When I go to DV entrant status check and put my confirmation number, I find this on the letter “…Your case will not be scheduled for an interview appointment until a visa number is available, you have submitted a complete and valid DS-260 application for each family member, and you have provided copies of all required documentation to the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC)…” Did I submit my DS260 when applying in 2019? I would appreciate your assistance.
Regards.
June 27, 2020 at 05:19
Read the lottery guide above.
June 27, 2020 at 08:47
Hi Brit.
Thanks for your reply. What is the Electronic Diversity Visa Confirmation Number? because it is asking me to enter it after entering my case number.
Thanks again.
June 27, 2020 at 09:01
Hi Brit,
I just found it is the one I was giving when submitting my entry in 2019. Thank you for your time.
June 27, 2020 at 17:12
The number you used in the ESC site to check your selection.
June 29, 2020 at 15:28
Hi Again Brit.
As my case number is 2021AF00016***.
1/ Would you suggest me to submit DS260 now or wait ? If to wait, until which month please?
2/ My wife’s passport is expiring in February 2021, can I still submit DS260 with the current one and go to interview with the new one and current one if ever I get there?
Regards.
June 29, 2020 at 23:07
1. If you want a faster interview, submit now. If not, wait.
2. Yes
June 27, 2020 at 20:15
Hallo Simon. I am a selectee with a low CN 2021AF10***. How soon should I submit the DS 260?
I previously worked in KSA but I didn’t manage to get the PCC but currently in Oman, will the Omani PCC suffice?
I am married under Kenyan customary law do I need to get a marriage certificate for the same?
June 27, 2020 at 20:55
You can submit any time you want.
Get all the police certs you need – check the instructions.
You should prove the marriage, and may be wise to perform a legal marriage.
June 28, 2020 at 19:56
Thanks , I am selected on dv lottery 2021 i fill the form unmarried but i have afiance and we have long years relationships.can i marry him and include on ds260 form ? Another question his educational background matter he finished high school? We apply privious dv lottery like dv2019 … as married they would check it?
June 28, 2020 at 21:04
Yes you can marry and include a new spouse. There may be some additional scrutiny of the relationship.
Only the principal selectee needs to meet the education requirement.
Lies told in previous applications can come back and bite, yes.
June 30, 2020 at 03:21
I do not want to wait till I travel to submit DS-260, can I submit now and will do the steps you mentioned here to unlock the DS260 to change the current address? Is it doable?

June 30, 2020 at 18:50

June 30, 2020 at 14:23
Hello Brit, my case number is AF72*** .Please i want to find out if anyone has ever reach the interview stage and given a visa based on this high case number before. Thanks
June 30, 2020 at 22:33
It doesn’t matter about previous years. What matters is this year – and it is too early for us to know anything yet.
July 1, 2020 at 04:38
Hi Simon, first I’d like to thank you for answering all of our questions.
I’m a selectee of DV-2021, case 2021SA000009XX (It’s just my husband and I), and I have some doubts regarding previous travels to the US and visas:
– To the question “Have you ever been in the U.S.”?
My husband (age 35), has traveled to the United States 3 times. He has information on his last two trips (both in 2018).
On his first trip, he was 14 years old (year 2000), but he does not remember the day and month of this trip.
Can I skip this first trip, since we don’t have the exact date? Or is it convenient to indicate an approximate date?
– To the question “Have you ever been issued a U.S. Visa”? In section “Date Visa Was Issued”
My husband was approved a B1-B2 visa between the years 1998 or 1999, being a child. He does not have the information on the date of issuance.
Is it okay to omit this visa from when he was a child since we don’t have the exact date of issuance?
Or should we indicate an approximate date of issuance and explain the visa is lost?
July 1, 2020 at 05:24
Approximate dates are ok.

Hello Simon,
I have been selected under the DV2021 lottery. My case number is 2021AF00060xxx. I have been trying to complete the DS-260 form for the last two weeks with the same error message even after sending an email to kccd. I have also tried using different browsers. The error message is
“The case information you entered does not match our records. Please try again or contact the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) by email ([email protected]) or by phone (Public Inquiry Phone Number 606-526-7500 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EDT Monday – Friday) for further assistance.”
Kindly advice as I have entered every detail correctly i.e, surname, confirmation no., birth date
Also what does it mean for a case number like mine 2021AF00060xxx concerning the earliest or latest time to submit the DS-260 form?
Thank you,
July 3, 2020 at 17:39
Well firstly, your case number means you have a long time before you can be interviewed, so a delay doesn’t matter.
However, it sounds like you are simply not following the advice given in the article above. Remove the leading zeros. If you really believe you have tried everything – you can send the details to me and I will try and access the form for you.
July 9, 2020 at 00:07
Hi
Hello, I’m a DV lottery 2021 winner, I’m having ta problem when I try to submit my DS-260 , I get this error:
Please correct all areas in error as indicated below. Once you have finished, click ”Sign and Submit Application’ to continue.
The case information you entered does not match the case number that you entered at Sign In.
I leave out the zeroes in the middle, but it doesn’t work.
July 9, 2020 at 01:02
Just the other day, I had EXACTLY the same scenario from someone that swore they had followed my guide above. So – they sent me the details and hey presto I got in to their form first try. Really. Slow down and carefully follow instructions.
July 15, 2020 at 10:41
Gladys did you find solution to complete the DS-260 form. I met the same problem .
July 2, 2020 at 21:41
Hi Brit,
I have submitted my DS260 3 days ago. Is it normal not to receive any email for confirmation of submission or on what is the next step, such as list of documents to submit?
Regards,
July 2, 2020 at 23:47
You will find this process goes slowly. Patience is key.
July 3, 2020 at 21:25

Hello sir,
In filling the DS-260. I attended 7 schools before entering university, 3 of which are my high schools and 4 Primary schools.
1) Must I include all 7 schools in the section that says ‘Number of Institutions Attended’?
2) I am not sure of the exact day (but i do know the month and year)of enrollment, what is your advice?
3) I am not sure of my country’s postal code, is it ok if I use the ‘Does not apply’ option?
Cheers!
July 4, 2020 at 17:58
1. Only those that are “secondary” level (meaning about age 11 or 12 and up).
2. Best guess or 1st of the month.
