The Trump administration has extended the April 22nd ban until the end of 2020. This represents a huge blow to DV2020 applicants and could also affect DV2021.
- It does not affect people already in LPR status (Green Card holders)
- It does not affect anyone already holding a DV visa from before April 22 (and extensions should still be possible as I have previously explained).
- It does not affect DV cases doing adjustment of status in the USA
- It does affect DV2020 cases (unless the order is successfully challenged).
- It affects DV2020 cases who were on 221(g) AP and waiting for the resolution of their cases.
- It will affect DV2021 cases, delaying the start of the process (unless the order is successfully challenged)
The order itself can be seen here

I have spoken to the lawyer and had a back and forth with him. So – with all due respect to Curtis, who I think has done his homework and knows the strengths and weaknesses of his case, I will give my current assessment here. I did discuss the lawsuit in a video with my earlier assessment and Curtis did reach out to me and confirm that my assessment at that time was fair and accurate.
The “non-discretionary duty to adjudicate” is frankly BS. Lawyers sometimes need to state some things in a strong way to provide a platform from which to make an argument, in this case the intent being to create the conditions to reinforce the threat of an argument. Meaning – he is trying to make the case sound strong so that the defendants will be more likely to “perform” to avoid the lawsuit being argued in court.
The cases where visas have been issued after the end of the year is murky at best. Some visas have been accelerated before September 30, and therefore “set aside” for issuance later, but even when a court orders someone to do something, that party may be bound by other laws and not able to do what the court says. So – a court could order the government to issue the visa (at which point the lawyers could claim a win) BUT the visa still might not be issued – because issuing would be a contradiction of an existing law. That is pretty much the stalemate that exists at the moment.
So, the lawsuit is intended to speed up processing for people on the lawsuit. That won’t help at all if the ban is extended, or the embassies remain closed, or the numbers are retrogressed, or if KCC have not finished processing of documents. So – if I were in this position to gamble $1000 , I might do it, but I would wait until I saw embassies were opening, the ban isn’t extended and the VB is released. That means waiting until mid/late June. And at that point I would also be checking/confirming that my documents are processed. But frankly, if those conditions exist, I might not need the lawsuit anyway….
<<<<
" And at that point I would also be checking/confirming that my documents are processed. But frankly, if those conditions exist, I might not need the lawsuit anyway….'
Sir, to conclude – taking into consideration above mentioned point – you suggest us not to participate in mandamus sue ?
June 23, 2020 at 13:21
The mandamus suit is geared toward prioritizing processing for the named plaintiffs on that suit. It is not geared toward attacking the ban. Other lawyers will be filing suit to block the ban. If they succeed, it will block the ban for everyone. At that point the mandamus might be interesting to some (to get priority), but there is a time component to the mandamus action and I would not be confident to sign on by the end of this month.
And of course – the embassies are not open yet…
June 23, 2020 at 15:30
Hello, I have submitted my supporting documents to NVC in November but have not been scheduled for an interview. I’m a DV2020 winner. Does it mean that my chances of getting greencard are gone?
Also, I have family in the USA that I used to visit on B1 visa. Will I get a chance to get that visa to see my family once in a while? I am not planning to stay on a B1 visa.
June 23, 2020 at 17:57
The ban will be challenged, so its not over yet.
But yes you can use your B1 in the future.
June 23, 2020 at 06:23
So Brit it means that the Dv Lottery 2020 is cancelled and there is no hope for no one who hasn’t done an interview, right?
June 23, 2020 at 13:25
No. The lottery is not cancelled. Some cases will still get through (AOS).
June 24, 2020 at 16:25
Some?!
1. How many and how do they know? 2. Is there a cutoff date? He just submitted his DS-260 form like a week ago.
June 24, 2020 at 20:01
1. Again. AOS cases – people living in the USA already and adjusting status.
2. DV2020 case??? That was very late anyway.
June 25, 2020 at 16:03
He said he has applied every year for the last 5 years and applied last September or October. Does this make him a DV 2021 winner, 2020 winner or both? Sorry for the confusion on my end.
June 25, 2020 at 19:25
2021. His case number would start with the year.
June 23, 2020 at 06:42
Hi, I’m so shattered with this new! Have been on AP since Jan. Going through the ban and seeing some exceptions based on national interest I’m tempted to ask this question
Can I seek for a waiver, based on the fact that when I filled my ds260 I choose medical field? And if yes how does the process work? Thanks
June 23, 2020 at 13:27
If you are a working medical professional you could try. Contact the embassy to explain/ask.
June 23, 2020 at 06:44
Somebody better file a lawsuit against this crap! I‘m so sorry you all
June 23, 2020 at 06:50
Stupid thinking!!!
It is not logical and genuine idea trying to creat work chance that breaks hearts of many peoples by the other side!!!!
Ican not work after listening the extended of the ban.i thout i am lucky when i was selected in DV but i am not.
Ifeel sorry !!!
June 23, 2020 at 07:16
Hi Brit,
Following content copied from the particular executive order.
Sec. 2. Scope of Suspension and Limitation on Entry.
(b) The suspension and limitation on entry pursuant to section 2 of this proclamation shall
not apply to:
(ii) any alien seeking to enter the United States on an immigrant visa as a physician, nurse, or other healthcare professional; to perform medical research or other research intended to combat the spread of COVID-19; or to perform work essential to combating, recovering from, or otherwise alleviating the effects of the COVID-19 outbreak, as determined by the Secretary of State, the Secretary of Homeland Security, or their respective designees; and any spouse and unmarried children under 21 years old of any such alien who are accompanying or following to join the alien;
(iii) any alien seeking to enter the United States to provide temporary labor or services essential to the United States food supply chain;
When some DV 2020 selectee is related to above job category, Is it possible to get visa to him/her?
Thanks
Sehan
June 23, 2020 at 13:32
The medical one? Possibly, but not very likely.
June 23, 2020 at 07:26
This order doesn’t conclude dvlottery cases I have spoken to kcc and they confirmed that dv cases are excluded.
June 23, 2020 at 07:41
Really???? When did you spoke??
June 23, 2020 at 08:07
Hi Mohammed, sounds positive. When did you speak with kcc?
June 23, 2020 at 08:13
I don’t think that’s true.
June 23, 2020 at 08:15
They aren’t working now. You should choose right time if you’re going to lie ??♀️
June 23, 2020 at 08:37
Smart !
June 23, 2020 at 09:31
Yesterday
June 23, 2020 at 10:03
Can you please provide more details on what you asked and what they said? Thanks!
June 23, 2020 at 13:45
Again. What you are saying is untrue.
June 23, 2020 at 08:37
They are closed now( it is night).
Do you enjoy giving lies?
Shame.
June 23, 2020 at 08:40
Mohammed is lying or trying to be funny… , take another shot MO
June 23, 2020 at 09:09
Mohammed read this.
………
Trump announced a freeze on green cards in April but did not suspend employment-based visas at the time. Today’s Executive Order also extends the freeze on new green cards to the end of 2020……….
–MO, I think this applies to Dv2020 selectees. So right now we should be praying that this ban be challenged in court.
June 23, 2020 at 13:33
That is absolute nonsense. OF COURSE it includes DV – please don’t spread BS.
June 23, 2020 at 07:44
Hello Mohamed, when did you talk with KCC?
You called them?
June 23, 2020 at 08:51
hi briti….plz stop this ban anyhow….my all dream destroy……i will die….im very poor …after winning dv lots of dream a have seen so plz
June 23, 2020 at 09:13
I lost my job , just after filling my ds 260 local embassy called me to cancel my tourist visa, I am in poor country and all that I had was that I was selected…. with my wife and little kid
After losing my job , I lost my appartement. and car now I see my only and only opportunity to survive goes away this is a disaster and very sad dear
I don’t know why me
June 23, 2020 at 08:59
Hi Simon,
Can you explain this point “It does not affect anyone already holding a DV visa from before April 22 (and extensions should still be possible as I have previously explained).”?
Because as soon as my visa expired I contacted the US consulate where my visa was issued and they told me that they couldn’t reissue my visa for 2 reasons: the 22 april EO and the embassy being still closed
June 23, 2020 at 13:40
Well the embassy is still closed probably so that one is true. But the other reason they gave is probably inaccurate as I have cases where people have already had re-issued visas during the ban.
June 24, 2020 at 11:53
Hi Simon,
I have a repatriation flight booked from South Africa to Chicago (via Dubai) this coming Sunday. My immigrant visa was issued in Feb 2020. If I had to print the proclamation, would it serve as additional proof that I meet the requirements to enter the U.S? South Africa is in lock down, Should I be left stranded at an airport I won’t be able to return to SA.
Thanks for what you are doing on your website! Truly appreciate it.
June 24, 2020 at 19:27
It won’t harm to print it – more for the airline in SA/Dubai than immigration.
June 26, 2020 at 14:08
How will I do the visa extension online as the ambassy are closed
June 26, 2020 at 16:22
Well that is one problem, and the ban is another. Embassies are working (just not seeing people) so you can email them and ask. But if your visa is not expired yet, do what you can to use it.
June 23, 2020 at 16:30
Same case for me. I contacted the embassy for renewal and they told me to get in touch when they resume services
June 23, 2020 at 09:00
Hello Brit. I was scheduled for interview in March and got my visa printed on my passport on 29th of March 2020 for the DV lottery program.
I understand from your post that given that I have obtained my visa before the initial EO in April, I am not impacted by this new EO, is that right please?
If right, my next question is this – I am planning to go to the US on 1st September 2020. What will happen when I get to the airport there? Will the immigration still review my doc and sealed enveloppe and process my green card and provide a Social Security Number within the next 4 weeks?
June 23, 2020 at 13:41
Not affected.
Yes you will be processed as normal.
June 23, 2020 at 09:08
Thank you, BritSimon, for all the information you provided us during these hard times!
I’m the main applicant of DV2020 working in tech – which doesn’t matter – but my wife has a public health degree and we stated on the DS-260 that she intend to work in “MEDICAL/HEALTH” occupation in the US. Do you think that we have a chance for an exemption from the ban? What is the way of applying for an exemption?
June 23, 2020 at 09:26
Hi Alex!
We are in the same situation. We are DV2020 selectees and my husband (principal applicant) has a nursing degree and we don´t know if we can apply for the excemption or how to proceed.
June 23, 2020 at 13:43
I think you need more than training. I would say you need to be actively working in that profession AND having a job offer in the USA in the medical field.
June 23, 2020 at 09:13
Hy I have EU44xxx yesterday in jun 22 at 7:54 PM I received a mail for send all document for processing. Why received a email for send all documents if proclamation will extends? And last year in sent all my document in 25 october 2019
June 23, 2020 at 13:44
Send the documents.
June 23, 2020 at 19:04
What do you predict in this case?
June 23, 2020 at 19:12
No prediction.
June 23, 2020 at 09:16
Hello Brit, what about those who already done with their interview? And they have some documents to drop?
If you done with the interview you can still get your Visa?
June 23, 2020 at 13:44
You mean cases on AP? No they will be affected by the ban.
June 23, 2020 at 09:40
I was reading xarthisius charts statistics and i noticed that during May 2020 there are issued 2 immigrant visas (i was unable to find which consulate). What does this mean? Can embassies issue visas during the proclamation?
Is this something Dv 2020 can hope further?
June 23, 2020 at 13:48
No – it was a specific case.
June 23, 2020 at 09:40
Hello Brit,
DV2021, Eu47xx.
After this ban when do you think will be better to fill ds260.
Thank 6ou
June 23, 2020 at 13:48
Just wait for now.
June 23, 2020 at 09:50
Hi Simon,
Greetings from the UK!
Thank you for all your hard work this year.
Does the ban apply to Artist Visas and Student Visas?
Many thanks.
Best wishes,
Claire
June 23, 2020 at 13:49
The visa types are listed in the ban.
June 23, 2020 at 10:05
Does this mean that the ds260 forms and the required documents will still be processed by KCC?
Only the interviews will be suspended?
If it’s the case, it’s a good news for dv2021.
June 23, 2020 at 13:50
That remains to be seen.
June 23, 2020 at 10:31
Hey Guys…Do you have any information about immigrants by marriages Visa? Will the embassy restart processing spouses visas soon? Thanks
June 23, 2020 at 13:54
I don’t know
June 23, 2020 at 10:37
I need encouragement because I’m thinking about ending my life altogether
June 23, 2020 at 10:49
Decks – please don’t! We’re all in this together. I am a DV2020 winner and also incredibly depressed right now. What is your situation? Where do you live at the moment? Everything is temporary and there will be better times even though it doesn’t seem like it right now. Sending love and strength.
June 23, 2020 at 11:47
I’m shocked. I haven’t another option.
June 23, 2020 at 11:15
There will be lawyers seeking to challenge this EO stay positive
June 23, 2020 at 12:39
Hi growerskenya, when will this take place blc we don have enough time for Dv2020.
June 23, 2020 at 12:34
Life is not fair brother! It is not fair for millions of people who lost their jobs, it is not fair for the people who lost their lives. So what you feel is valid. Yet, life is worth living.
You can win the DV next year, but you can’t have your life back. Be strong!
June 23, 2020 at 13:09
I’m feeling identically like you but trust me it doesn’t worth it.I’m pretty sure we’re going to be lucky in other parts of our lives. We can never know what’s going to happen but I know only one thing:God really closed a door to us,but will open a new one so we can breathe freshly and maybe better than beffore..Just keep calm and try again.Think about it just like a bad dream from wich you woke up and start from where you left before May 2019.We’re all together in this.I’m suffering too.My heart is broken and I don’t know where I’m finding the power to write this to you.But trust me,life will be pretty much better for all of us.Wish all of you the best and wish we’ll be lucky another DV year ???
June 23, 2020 at 13:55
I suggest you talk to family and friends about how you are feeling.
June 23, 2020 at 14:27
Dont end your life Deck. There wiil be another opportunity for you.
June 23, 2020 at 14:31
Hey you are not alone in this please don’t think like that there will be plenty of other opportunities ahead of you and so more countries to immigrate to. This is not the last chnace you get in life. We are here for you so stay strong
June 23, 2020 at 10:46
Dear Simon,
I hope you are well. I am a DV2020 winner, i have received the email to confirm all documents received. My derivative will have the passport expire on mid April 2021, I will join the mandamus case, in this scenario,
1) should I renew her passport as soon as possible? Or should wait until 30 September?
2) if I still need to unlock DS260 and correct after got her new passport?
June 23, 2020 at 13:57
1. No
2. Don’t make changes now.
June 23, 2020 at 19:12
Dear Brit, I see people talking about joining mandamus case! What is that?
Thanks
June 23, 2020 at 10:56
Any chance to recieve a conditional dv immigration visa with obligation to enter US after 1st of January 2021
That can be a solution. Please, Brit, make the lawyers aware of this.
June 23, 2020 at 14:07
It is not a solution.
June 23, 2020 at 11:27
persons who have a valid visa from the American lottery are allowed to enter the USA ?? or are they affected by the new order ???
June 23, 2020 at 17:07
Please read above.
June 23, 2020 at 12:21
When they notify someone that the interview has been scheduled, they should have a moral obligation to get them to see through it. If it weren’t for the slow start, I would probably have a visa already. DV lottery has made my life miserable. Imagine having a luck so bad that I ended up getting selected in wrong year, under wrong leadership and got interview scheduled just a few days after travel ban. God bless America.
June 23, 2020 at 12:29
Hi everyone
Does someone have Brit’s email please?
Thank you
June 23, 2020 at 17:19
What do you need? I prefer to answer questions here for the benefit of all.
June 23, 2020 at 12:30
Hi Simon
So this is it really? There’s no any lawyers who will fight against this ban? Coz it was our dreams come true really to won this DV 2020.
Trump must go out in November serious… the world doesn’t need him anymore.
But we must keep our hope there
June 23, 2020 at 17:21
https://britsimonsays.com/collecting-cases-for-a-lawsuit-against-the-immigration-ban/
June 23, 2020 at 12:42
“It does not affect DV cases doing adjustment of status in the USA”
AOS for 2021 still depends on the bulletin board making case numbers current right? so in theory it does effect DV AOS?
June 23, 2020 at 17:22
The VB can move anyway…
June 23, 2020 at 12:48
Isn’t it funny ;-)?
In 1885, Donald Trump’s grandfather, Friedrich Trump, emigrated from Kallstadt, Palatinate (then part of the Kingdom of Bavaria – Germany), to the United States at age 16. He anglicized his name to Frederick in 1892 when he became a U.S. citizen. Donald Trump’s grandmother, like her husband, she was a native of Kallstadt too.
June 23, 2020 at 17:23
Yup – not to mention his choice of wives.
Mind you, that is pretty normal that immigrants get to do some of the worst jobs – as Melania Trump can describe.
June 23, 2020 at 13:17
Hi dear Simon,
You said that the recent proclamation regarding immigration will affect DV 2021 selectees but I could not see any expression address to the DV selectees on the deceleration. Can you kindly make it clear for me to understand how it affects us(DV2021 selectees) from the proclamation which will delay our process as you claimed…
Thank you.
June 23, 2020 at 21:53
The date the ban ends is December 31, 2020.
June 23, 2020 at 13:27
Hello Mr. Simon,
Just an update, I just called KCC and asked them if DV-2021 program is impacted by yesterday’s EO or not. Their answer was that they have not received any instructions which impact the proceedings of DV-2021 lottery. I know this is a very vague response but at least it’s not negative for 2021 winners. Fingers crossed and let’s hope for the best.
Thanks!
June 23, 2020 at 13:46
I think that those who have a small case number and have already sent their DS-260 and documents will get an interview scheduled but automatically refused since there is a ban!
Mr Brit can you confirm or deny my logic?
June 23, 2020 at 18:08
I don’t agree.
June 23, 2020 at 19:49
It’s a beautiful logic
June 23, 2020 at 18:32
I also called for dv 2020 and she said they have not received any instruction
June 23, 2020 at 13:31
Hi Simon!
My name is Mario and my case Number is 2021SA000016xx. I had already sent form Ds-260 and the supporting documents. As a matter of fact I had gotten an email from the KCC that stated that I was ready to be interviewed and that all that was missing was that my case number became current. So,
1). Do you think the ban will be extended into 2021?
2). If it doesn’t, do you think I have a good chance with my case Number?
I also wanted to say thank you! I’ve been coming to your website quite a lot lately, and I’d like you to know you’ve been great help!
June 23, 2020 at 18:10
1. It currently goes until Devember 31 – that is all we know.
2. It’s not a bad number.
June 23, 2020 at 13:40
What do you mean by AOS
June 23, 2020 at 13:47
Adjustment of status(AOS) is the process that you can use to apply for lawful permanent resident status (also known as applying for a Green Card) when you are present in the United States. This means that you may get a Green Card without having to return to your home country to complete visa processing.
June 23, 2020 at 13:48
Dear Sir,
Is it okay to participate to the mandamus now? because we lose the hope for DV2020. If you can please do it a another video by discussing the mandamus with current situation. Because from one or another we need to secure our GC.
Thanks
June 23, 2020 at 14:06
Hi Brit, First of all thanks for such an useful informative blog. It’s helping a lot. I am DV2021 winner but given the circumstances thinking to apply for DV2022 . Would there be a chance to be selected again or they will disqualify if you won in the past.
June 23, 2020 at 18:06
It’s a random draw.
June 23, 2020 at 14:07
Hello Sir,
With the recent Proclamation made by the President of the U.S, what are your projections for the possibilities of processing cases for DV2021?
If only extension of fiscal year (range) is possible or done, then there might be some hope. Some of prefer to be delayed than to be cancelled. Do you have any take on this?
Cheers!
June 23, 2020 at 18:05
I am more focused on near term problems right now. Patience.
June 23, 2020 at 14:07
Brit, I’ve sent my documents again this morning and I’ve called to KCC several minutes ago. Lady told me that they haven’t received my documents in November, despite of the fact that everything was correct! And she can’t tell me if now they have my documents, because other department is working on this issue.
1.Do you think there is still a chance that they haven’t received my documents?
2. How does this lady know whether they have received my documents in November or not? She herself told me that can’t see those things
3. Does it mean that they really lost documents which were sent in November and January?
June 23, 2020 at 18:05
1. I don’t know.
2. I don’t know.
3. I don’t know.
June 23, 2020 at 14:21
Hi BritSimon,my visa expired in may, as you said in your video I can renewal it but then they gonna put new issue date on my visa which will be after 22 April. So do I understand it correctly that with this new visa I won’t be able to enter to the USA before 31.12.2020 because of this new ban ?
June 23, 2020 at 18:03
No. If you have a visa already you are not affected by the ban.
June 23, 2020 at 15:45
Dear Sir,
1.could you help for dv 2020 pending case for challenge on court again the EO ?
2. There is any way to challenge on court ? Because we lost the time and money for medical fee. I want to challenge the EO on court for justice.
June 23, 2020 at 17:51
1. I am. https://britsimonsays.com/collecting-cases-for-a-lawsuit-against-the-immigration-ban/
2. See 1.
June 23, 2020 at 16:26
Hello Is it true that the American lottery DV 2022 # not 2021 # will be canceled? Thank you
June 23, 2020 at 17:28
No.
June 23, 2020 at 17:04
Hi Brit,
Does the ban mean that a diversity visa holder like me will not get the green card after entering US ?
June 23, 2020 at 17:25
No
June 23, 2020 at 17:11
Hi BritSimon
I have my friend who got the DV lottery recently for the Embassy of USA in DJIBOUTI 5 days ago almost on June 19,
That means during the immigrant ban of April 22nd ban till June 23.
It REALLY happened for my friend.
What dose this mean, BritSimon ??
Are the Applicants of DIV program out of the Immigrant Ban ??
June 23, 2020 at 17:25
Yes – fully described above.
June 23, 2020 at 17:28
Hi Brit,
I’m a dv 2020 selectee, now that I know that went the drain, I’d like to ask your advice about something.
I was issues a 10 years B1B2 visa 4 years ago. However due to an incident lost my passport. I recall when calling the embassy and sending them a copy of the police record, they told me that I needed to apply for a new visa. Any chance I could get my B1B2 back? Maybe through an i-102?
Thanks,
A
June 23, 2020 at 18:19
I have no idea.
June 23, 2020 at 17:41
sir i am dv winer of 2020 from Nepal and i have done AOS process in june 2020 . it is immigrant ban so that effect to me or not .
June 23, 2020 at 18:16
Answered in the article above.
June 23, 2020 at 17:43
Just some clarification on the ban:
– The order does NOT apply to anyone who has a valid nonimmigrant visa as of the effective date.
That means that if you have a B1 / B2 visa or any other type of nonimmigrant visa as of the effective date, you can still apply for DV 2020 / DV 2021.

No that is not correct!

This is coming from Section 3 of the proclamation:
Sec. 3. Scope of Suspension and Limitation on Entry. (a) The suspension and limitation on entry pursuant to section 2 of this proclamation shall apply only to any alien who:
(i) is outside the United States on the effective date of this proclamation;
(ii) does not have a nonimmigrant visa that is valid on the effective date of this proclamation; and
(iii) does not have an official travel document other than a visa (such as a transportation letter, an appropriate boarding foil, or an advance parole document) that is valid on the effective date of this proclamation or issued on any date thereafter that permits him or her to travel to the United States and seek entry or admission.
I work for a US company and the immigration lawyers just published that information on the immigration channel.

Yes – we already have the text of the ban.

Hi Brit, referring to the three paragraphs above, do they mean that a DV2020 lottery winner who is currently outside of the USA awaiting an embassy interview, but holds a valid nonimmigrant visa which was issued before April 23rd, is therefore not subject to the ban? Thanks for your time and taking the trouble to respond to so many questions from everyone.
June 24, 2020 at 03:17
No. It does not mean that.

Hello Brit,
What does it mean successful challenged for 2020 dv process?
Is there still some hope for 2020 winners? Or just over, thanks

Taken to court, blocked.

Hi Simon,
Really appreciate all the content and hard work that goes into this site.
– I’m wondering would there be any benefit to filing ones DS260 as a DV2021 selectee immediately today before the extension of the Proclamation on 24th June? Potentially circumnavigating certain elements should the DV interview process be rebooted in the future.
Could it potentially be better to file sooner rather than later if there is a backlog in 2021?
– Also, aside from those matters, would you say that currently serving in ones home countries military has any bearing on ones DV progression?
Thanks so much in advance.
June 23, 2020 at 19:35
1. No benefit at all.
2. It can cause a problem if you are not free to leave the military.

Thanks so much Simon. I really appreciate the response. All the very best.

#Britt thank you if you answer !! I wanted an info about those people who have a valid visa before April 22 is allowed to fly to usa or are limited by this new ban ??? As far as we understand, he doesn’t say anything about those who have a visa, if you read it, he says that the entrance to the service is closed on 31/12/2020. How do we know if we are allowed to do this or not ??? That we don’t go there and we are not allowed to enter and they revocate our visa !!! Have a nice day !!
June 23, 2020 at 20:06
Please read the article above.
June 23, 2020 at 20:14
how certain is this because if it is not true and we are not allowed to enter usa we are revoked our visa. where are you based that we do not come out until 31/12/2020
June 23, 2020 at 21:42
If you don’t believe or trust my word – read the ban yourself – linked above. It’s very clear.
June 23, 2020 at 20:52
In light of the above, I have determined that the entry, through December 31, 2020, of certain aliens as immigrants and nonimmigrants would be detrimental to the interests of the United States.

Hi Simon! Many thanks for the video and all precious support and information!
If the ban is put to court or supreme court how much time does it need to block the ban? How long does the all process lasts approximately?
Thanks Simon for this light at the end of the tunnel!
You are simply the best moderator ever!

The case would be heard first in Federal court. That court might give a temporary restraining order immediately – blocking the ban immediately to allow for a more complete court hearing at some later date. That would buy time, but the government would then have a chance to argue the case in Federal court or take the case to appeal which could go as far as the Supreme court. Getting there would take a long time – so as long as there is a TRO in the meantime, cases could be interviewed (assuming embassies are reopened).

So the Ban will immediately be cancelled if Trump loses the elections? And does that mean they will suspend all the interviews ( despite the corona crisis)
June 23, 2020 at 21:46
No – if Trump loses the election (in November) he stays in the Whitehouse until January 20. The new president would normally have a plan for what they want to achieve in their first 100 days (after Jan 20) and hopefully the bans would be removed then.

Very sad for DV 2020.
