Please Mr Simon I will glad to hear from you. Thanks

May 31, 2016 at 3:19 pm

Thank you Simon , Today I went to interview with my wife and son . we all passed the interview and they tell me to collect visa on day 10 next week. really thank you so much for your help. I have question , why i check my ceac data and it shows READY. thank you
June 2, 2016 at 2:08 pm
Congrats. CEAC hasn’t been updated yet – that is all. Ignore it.
June 8, 2016 at 8:10 pm
We did our interview on June 2nd in Montreal and today they asked our passports to stamp the visa.
First, Thank you about all useful advise I learned from the website.
Next, our address in US is Michigan where my uncle live there. My question is:
1- We should exactly go to Michigan and do official immigration stuff or not? (because my uncle is on a trip now) I’m better off to land in New York..
2- Can we go by bus or port of entry should be airport ? (I live in Ottawa)
3- Can you help me with the official works for the new comers? (apply for social security number, apply for green card, open one bank account, ???)
4- How long we need to stay in US to do items in 3?
June 9, 2016 at 12:47 am
1. Go where you want.
2. You can go by road.
3. Your GC will be sent to the USA address you gave in about 2 to 3 months. The SSN may arrive in 2 to 3 weeks, if not, go to the SSA office. Go to the DMV for a drivers license.
4. Up to you.
June 9, 2016 at 3:11 am
Thank you so much for help,
If you have time please help me with these questions too.
1- getting GC and SSN is an automatic process, or I should apply for them?
2- When Can I open bank account?
3- I take it, I need to just land in and pass the immigration process in the airport and can get back to Canada the same day. correct?
June 9, 2016 at 4:04 am
2. Up to you.

Hi Sir brit …I am Damseaux mwanza kalenga a selectee of Dv loterry 2017…I just need your clarication about my passport ..My passport is going to expire 24 02 2017 Do i need to make a new passport or i still have a chance to receive a visa with the one i have? Cause while i was reading the form it says.. – For each applicant, an unexpired passport valid for six months beyond the intended date of entry into the United States ….so mine is going to expire next year 24-02-2017 …..thnx
July 9, 2016 at 5:11 pm
Well it will almost certainly expire. Rather than stress about it – renew it.
July 10, 2016 at 5:36 am
Hi mwanza kalenga. Are you from DRC?mine will expire in June. Plz let me know how long it take to renew a passport. Thanks
July 10, 2016 at 4:33 pm
Dear Mr Simon
I’m selectee on Dv2017, I found on the confirmation of DS 260, if visa number available then they will send the schedule for interview, do I have to hold preparation of documents till receive the interview schedule and what shall be the duration allowance between the mail and interview
July 10, 2016 at 10:38 pm
Yes wait for now. They inform you about 6 or 7 weeks before the interview.
July 21, 2016 at 7:57 am
When do you think AP people will be called?
We are very frustrated about this, since May 10 we went to the embassy in Liberia for interview, we have not been called for Visa.
July 21, 2016 at 8:13 pm
Most AP cases will be completed before September 30, but some case will not complete in time, and will not get a visa.
July 21, 2016 at 8:01 am
Do you have any website where we can go and check visa issued, Visa denied, administrative processing. If yes please help me with it.
July 21, 2016 at 8:12 pm
I provided that data before, but now it is not possible.
August 26, 2016 at 11:50 am
hello brit…my first name is ‘mohamed almogtaba’ and on my passport my name is “moealmogtaba” they shortcut it to me because there is no more capacity in the passport since my full name already full it,
so my question is can i get a visa with this name or no since my first name is not complete?
August 26, 2016 at 4:57 pm
I don’t know, unless you can correct the passport, it will be up to the CO.
August 30, 2016 at 7:48 pm
i know but is there is the immigrant law allow abbreviations names?
August 31, 2016 at 12:16 am
They want legal names.
May 8, 2017 at 2:27 pm
thanks mr simon
May 8, 2017 at 4:41 pm
I have a question Mr. Simon. if a person made a mistake on their date of birth and education level say for example, may 2,2000 instead of may 2, 1995 and vocational certificate instead of high school diploma or high school graduate. Is there a way to correct that and still attached your spouse for a visa?
May 8, 2017 at 4:47 pm
For the birthdate issue, the correct information should be entered in the DS260.
The other questions need to be written more clearly.
May 9, 2017 at 3:45 pm
hi Simon,Thanks for the response earlier. I ask about the other issues that has to do with the mistake on my education level but did not get any response to that. With the two mistakes made, is it possible to attach my spouse for Visa. what is the risk involved? i will really appreciate a response because i am so confused.thanks Brit.
May 9, 2017 at 5:30 pm
I told you to make your question clear. You haven’t.
August 15, 2017 at 4:25 am
Hi Simón. How are you?
I am a dv2018 winner I already Sent my dv260. But I changed my passport because it will expired in january 2018. Now my passport has a different number. So I have to unlock my dv260 and changed my passport’s number? Or I keep that was? I Still have the old passport. Thanks
August 15, 2017 at 5:58 am
Ideally, unlock and update. Once you are scheduled for interview, you will not be able to unlock.
August 15, 2017 at 10:53 am
What happend if I keep the old passport number? I will have problem? Because I really dont want to unlock dv260. I am 2018sa16xx . I read in other blog that someone had the same problem than me and keep the old number and in the interview the Agent changed thepassport number in that moment. I am tell ing you this because I dont know if that is possible. Thanks
August 15, 2017 at 2:17 pm
There is no problem in unlocking – no delay caused. You have a LONG time to wait anyway because of your case number.
September 11, 2017 at 3:39 pm
I was a dv selectee in 2015, I lost my original secondary school diploma, but I Got another one from the local administration more than 10 years ago, but it appeared to be a fake at the interview and I got a visa denial under section 212(a)(6C). After I went to complain at our educational administration, they corrected the mistake and issued me a genuine document that i brought in appeal. The CO said though I have proven that i am a true degree holder, the refusal will still be there as I brought first time an incorrect document but It’s no longer a permanent ban as it stated in the previous refusal worksheet, but an invalid entry(under section 212(a)(5A) only for that fiscal year and i could try another chance later. In 2016, my wife has been a selectee and at the interview, all went on well, but later on only my wife and kids got their visas except me for reason that i submitted a false document in 2015. I wished that CO considered my appeal with genuine documents and removed the permanent ban as he said. now they said that when my wife will get to US, she’ll have to file a I-130 petition to send to immigration for a waiver in order for me to immigrate. Don’t you think that my case has been treated unfairly? What should i do next ?
September 11, 2017 at 5:01 pm
It’s unfortunate, but this is a privilege, not a right. So – The I-130 is your only option.
September 11, 2017 at 5:06 pm
Hi brit. I read in other post that once I Send the 260 I have to receive a confirmation email and that nevera happend to me. And somebody says that is because I have a hotmail.com Account. Is that true? Thanks
September 11, 2017 at 5:11 pm
Possibly. The email confirmation is not important.
September 11, 2017 at 5:14 pm
Do I have to change the hotmail for a Gmail? I am worry because if I dont receive the appointment’s email
September 11, 2017 at 6:21 pm
It’s up to you. The email itself doesn’t have any useful information. So – when you expect the 2NL, you can just check the ESC page.
September 28, 2017 at 3:48 am
15 years ago I had a green card, while on a cruise for my honeymoon an immigration officer seized my US card because I had a visa from my home country and also the US card. Two years ago I applied for a green card which included my wife and children, (case typeI-130) I received confirmation that our case was at the California Service Ctr.
1. How long does a case such as this (1-130) take to process? When I last checked the web site the processing time for my receipt date had already passed. Does this mean it was not approved?
2. If I were to apply for the lottery would it negatively effect my pending I-130 application and/or our chances with lottery?
September 28, 2017 at 4:05 am
1. I only answer DV questions
2. No problem.
January 2, 2018 at 2:13 pm

January 2, 2018 at 3:21 pm

April 23, 2018 at 5:46 pm
Hey Mr Brit can you get a greencard by your primary education level ? And how
April 23, 2018 at 6:08 pm
Are you talking about DV lottery? That requires secondary education up to about age 18 (university entry standard).
May 25, 2018 at 11:54 am
