Hi Brit.South America region just became CURRENT on the visa bulletin.Does this mean there will be visas for all the winners in the region?I have a high case number( SA 21**)
June 8, 2020 at 5:31 am
The embassies are closed so no interviews are being scheduled. Once they reopen we will have more people than interview slots – so there is risk for DV2020 cases.
June 8, 2020 at 3:38 pm
There are enough visas, yes. BUT not everyone will get an interview because the embassies are closed and we are running out of time.
June 9, 2020 at 5:46 am
My interview was on March 15 which has been canceled. and the Embassey told that it will be rescheduled.do you think If Embassies reopened we will have a chance to get visa . Although we did Medical Checkup as well .
2020, Asia 11xxx Afghanistan
June 9, 2020 at 3:12 pm
If they reopen in time, yes.
June 4, 2020 at 4:56 am
Dear Mr brits i hope you doing well .
Today i was reviewing my DS-260 and there is i dont know you may call it a minor mistake.
when they ask me about where my father and my mother were born i wrote the name of big City they were they born but my birthday certificate mention the small village which is near the city i wrote in DS-260.
Is there any problem with that ? Or can i explain that at the interview if they ask me about it ?
Because now i am just waiting for 2NL only and already got my docoment reciecve email late march

June 6 of this year.
June 4, 2020 at 5:37 am
I know the embassies are closed but there are some people who lives in USA and waiting for their number to goes current so that they can process through AOS.
1)Is there any possibilities for Nepal and Egypt to go current in following months?
2) Will they be able to get interviewed till September even though their number comes in July month for AOS?
June 4, 2020 at 5:19 pm
1. I don’t know.
2. If they become current, they have a chance.
June 9, 2020 at 7:00 pm
What is your case number? I am from Nepal waiting for AOS interview and am equally scared considering the September deadline for this FY, i.e. DV 2020.
June 4, 2020 at 6:22 am
My CN in CEAC visa status check has shown “Ready” since late March (I have also received 2NL before), the status remains the same till 11 May, but it just now changed to “At NVC”. What does it mean? I have been contacting my country embassy these weeks but no further update yet. Thanks.
June 4, 2020 at 5:20 pm
There have been some odd updates in CEAC recently. No need to read any meaning into it.
June 5, 2020 at 2:37 am
Thanks Brit. It now becomes Ready again – that’s so weird.
June 4, 2020 at 7:09 am
People in EU started to recieve “documents recieved” emails. Their case numbers are less than 33XXX. Is there any relation between confirmation email and 2NL or embassy reopen?
Thanks for your all valuable information.
June 4, 2020 at 7:51 am
In our country in Europe the US Embassy said they are preparing to open soon, since almost eveything is open in our country, even malls which get alot of people. I was really hoping to get July interviews, since i guess everything is gonna be back to “normal” in July. If Trump extend the ban, how many times it takes to challenge in court? 1 week? 2 weeks? 1 month?
June 4, 2020 at 5:21 pm
I can’t predict that.
June 4, 2020 at 8:00 am
Hi Brit, Hope you are doing well. Brit my worries are KCC seem not to help at all . I have been asking if they are satisfied with my documents but no response . You know is frustrating.
June 4, 2020 at 8:11 am
Some people in EU started to recieve “documents recieved” e-mails yesterday. Their case numbers are less than 33XXX. Is there any relation between documents recieved e-mail and 2NL or embassy re-open? Thx.
June 4, 2020 at 9:48 am
Hi Simon, thanks for the video update. Is it safe to say, if we can afford to do so, now is a good time to consider joining the mandamus case which Curtis Morrison is filing?
June 4, 2020 at 5:26 pm
That is for each person to decide for themselves.
June 4, 2020 at 5:30 pm
Is it possible to join mr Morrison lawsuit after June 8th? Like around June 23rd ?
June 4, 2020 at 5:51 pm
Yes it is. You have until the end of the month as a hard deadline. I’ve joined it and apparently there are already a few others too. At this point I am throwing everything I have at this opportunity.
June 4, 2020 at 5:59 pm
Great! Keep us updated how the things are going, please. I’ve recently started wondering if it’s worth investing such amount of money on it.
June 4, 2020 at 6:22 pm
Well hang on. Let me clarify. There is NO advantage of joining the suit NOW – and a wiser approach would be to wait until later in June.
June 4, 2020 at 6:04 pm
I’ll keep you updated. For me, it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. If you can afford to do so, it’s a no brainer to give it everything you’ve got at this late stage in the game :-/ The rest is up to faith and fate 🙂
I wouldn’t wonder if it was $100, but it’s a little bit more. I don’t live in the US yet, so it’s not that easy to earn $1000 (and it’s only the initial price). I hope you’ll get some info soon to inform us how it works for you
June 4, 2020 at 6:46 pm
June 4, 2020 at 10:20 am
Thank you very much, this is quite informative.
June 4, 2020 at 11:06 am
Hi Brit, can I send the 485 package and then send the medical tests? Thank you
June 4, 2020 at 5:27 pm
Send a complete package.
June 11, 2020 at 8:01 pm
I want to ask you my case number started with af is it due to write in initial application the address sudan or what becouse i was born in Saudi Arabia I submitted my ds260 that i born saudi arabia according to my passport
June 12, 2020 at 1:00 am
Sounds like you claimed to be chargable to an African country. If you have no right to have done that (through marriage for instance) you will be disqualified.
June 4, 2020 at 2:10 pm
I think the US Embassy in Iraq is already open. So does it still just about waiting for now?
June 4, 2020 at 5:29 pm
June 4, 2020 at 11:43 pm
we made group from iraqi wanner if you win dv lottery we can add you .
the embassy in iraq is closed after the covid 19
June 5, 2020 at 12:38 am
U.S. Embassy Baghdad is closed since 1st of January because of security issues before COVID-19 outbreak and I don’t think it will open any time soon even if COVID-19 slow down soon, the best chance is the U.S. Consult General Erbil to open, however I heard that they don’t interview DV cases and Iraqi winners should choose between Istanbul or Dubai.
Can I ask you what is your case number and which city do you live in?
I am an Iraqi winner of DV2020 and still waiting to.
June 5, 2020 at 10:02 am
even in qatar there is interview and they dont choose , the kcc is choose my case number is 30XXX
June 5, 2020 at 10:38 am
Heey Ali is CN AS30***
i just want to ask if you received document confirmation email?
I’m from Jordan AS29*** and i didn’t receive an email.
June 4, 2020 at 4:52 pm
Which specific embassies have reopened or have shown indications for reopening?.
In my country Kenya, one DV candidate emailed the embassy in Nairobi and the reply was, ; the visa interviews were cancelled due to the government of Kenya banning public gatherings.
So my question is. Does it mean that when our government lift restrictions on public gatherings then embassy will likely to reopen?
June 4, 2020 at 5:36 pm
I don’t have a list of countries.
The embassies were closed by central order so that order needs to be lifted, AND the embassy staff have to return and prepare for interviews, AND the conditions in the country need to be safe.
June 4, 2020 at 6:19 pm
Am from Kenya too @sidika
June 4, 2020 at 5:46 pm
Thank you for your update.
Please do the embassy renew the DV visas of 2020 now??
No – not yet. After the ban ends.
June 5, 2020 at 12:48 am
Dear Mr.Simon I have noticed that for the last couple of months whenever you post a new video on YouTube the comments are hidden for the public, for example I comments many times on your videos but I cant see my comments or other peoples comments.
Is there a problem in your YouTube channel? Do you read the comments? or do you blocked the comments? I just wounder because you no longer replays to my comments on YouTube.
thank you from the heart.
June 5, 2020 at 5:09 am
Turns out YT had a new setting that was holding all the comments. Apologies – I’m restoring them now.
June 5, 2020 at 11:46 pm
thank you, the comments are working now on YouTube, I just watch your last video.
June 6, 2020 at 12:22 am
Yep I fixed it. Now just have to un hold about 2000 comments…
June 5, 2020 at 1:08 am
I tried to call KCC but here’s the reply I received.
“Closed due to inclement weather”
Has anyone else received such a reply.
June 5, 2020 at 1:43 am
If I’ve done my biometrics in the US (filing an AOS), which my Case Status Online shows, and the next steps say “We will prepare your case for officer review.”, do you feel that this will take a while? Typically, it wouldn’t take long for an interview (for AOS in the US) – but with the closure, I’m assuming there’ll be backlog, especially if I haven’t yet had an interview scheduled?
Is there any way to request an earlier interview date in the US for AOS (if my visa expires soon)? Or is that just not possible at all, and I have to wait for my letter in the mail?
(Thank you for all your continued work and efforts with this site, by the way!)
June 5, 2020 at 5:11 am
Patience. There is time.
June 5, 2020 at 2:27 am
Hi simon, please when are they going to release dv 2021
June 5, 2020 at 8:32 am
Hey Brit, you mentioned that we’ve likely lost July interviews. Are you saying that people who were cancelled in April won’t be interviewed or people who received the 2NL later?
June 5, 2020 at 2:31 pm
I’m talking about NEW interviews. Rescheduling could happen.
June 5, 2020 at 11:27 am
Tomorrow, God’s will be done
June 5, 2020 at 11:58 am
What will happen to the visas of sucessfull interviewees and their passport stuck in the embassies and medical report expiring in July ?
Thank you .
June 5, 2020 at 2:33 pm
You mean people on AP? Those people will need to repeat their medical.
June 5, 2020 at 1:44 pm
Hi simon, hope you doing well , i have a question about documents review, i saw many people on facebook
confirm that they have receive the confirming letter of their documents in the past days. someone have 69k in the case number, i have 65k in my case , and still didn’t receive the confirmation, in the past month i contact KCC by phone, and they tell me that i just need to wait , Should I call again? thank you in advance
June 5, 2020 at 2:37 pm
June 5, 2020 at 4:06 pm
Hi Brit, I was placed on AP for over three months and later received an email from the embassy stating that I should send my passport but the day I was supposed to submit it the embassy closed. Does this means they are going to give me a visa?
June 5, 2020 at 6:20 pm
It means they were probably going to approve your case, so once the embassy is reopened and the ban lifted that is probably what will happen.
June 10, 2020 at 10:43 pm
Hi roger I’m in the same position as you I were contacted by the embassy to submit my passport on March 5 ,after 3 months of AP after scheduling my 221g appointment i was given April 14 but was later cancelled on 25 of March due to covid19. So we got to keep praying for embassies to reopen soon because I can say we got better chances than many dv2020 winner’s. As soon as the ban lifted and embassies reopen we will get our visas they don’t ask to submit passports if case is not approved, so we will good by god grace . I am AF7*** in Liberia and you?
June 6, 2020 at 4:39 am
Hi, Mr Smith
As we know today is the day when the 2021 dvlottery to check. Unfortunately i accidentally deleted my confirmation number that i saved in my Gmail but i know my date of birth and my surname but i dont have the confirmation number. Is it possible to retreive my confirmation number and how ?
June 6, 2020 at 10:36 am
On the ESC page their is a link to retrieve the confirmation number.
June 6, 2020 at 5:03 am
Hi Brit, i know that passport numbers are exiged for all Dv perriod, then people who played without passeport numbers, will travel too ?
June 6, 2020 at 10:37 am
If those people do not have a legitimate reason for not providing their passport, those people could be disqualified.
June 6, 2020 at 5:11 am
Hey britsimon, do you think those who won green card 2020 will have there interview all of them,?i see fiscal year is almost ending
June 6, 2020 at 10:38 am
No – there is not enough time to interview all the cases. The embassies are closed, so every day that passes makes the situation worse.
June 6, 2020 at 11:17 am
Is there any chance to get interview case AS 121** till sep 2020 as i am winner from nepal and case got current for june.
June 6, 2020 at 12:08 pm
The embassies are closed, so if they reopen – maybe you will have a chance.
June 6, 2020 at 11:26 am
OK every thing possible to Christ. I am waiting that. I have interest even if chorona is spread the globe. In today’s selection I no be selected again I will attempt next time.
June 6, 2020 at 4:07 pm
1- I have send my documents on November, do you think i should send them again?
I called KCC and told me that they have processed my DS260 but that department can’t see if they have received my documents.
What do you suggest?
2- If i don’t get the confirmation of my documents until 5th July i dont have a chance for interview right?
3- Do you think that there is anybody in Eu with Cn 39*** or above that has received the confirmation?
Thank you so much.
June 6, 2020 at 4:10 pm
Im EU 45*** and im in the same situation like you ..
June 6, 2020 at 4:45 pm
1. Check what you sent – make sure you did everything right. If you want, send again.
2. Technically you don’t need a confirmation, and we are not certain of the date, but yes it is getting close.
June 6, 2020 at 4:24 pm
Hello…please let me know if dv 2021 results are already out
June 6, 2020 at 5:25 pm
hi simon, Is there any logic behind not updating CEAC data for June 1st?
June 6, 2020 at 5:32 pm
Embassies are closed, so there was no point of updating CEAC data
June 6, 2020 at 5:52 pm
June 6, 2020 at 7:08 pm
I contacted KCC about two weeks ago and asked whether they have processed my documents and their answer was no. Should I contact them again during June? My case number is 41xxx by the way.
June 6, 2020 at 10:34 pm
June 7, 2020 at 7:38 am
How did u contact them please? I need the email or the number
June 6, 2020 at 11:53 pm
Once you have arrived in the US with the Immigration Visa in your passport, you have the sealed envelope to hand over, what is the process and how long dos it take
June 7, 2020 at 12:06 am
It’s just a few minutes. Nothing to worry about. Always include your year with your number.
June 7, 2020 at 7:34 am
Hello brit.. my case number is AS30xxx i have emailed kcc that i’ve already sent my documents and no response that confirms that they are corrrect so they said that they have sent my requiest to the department responisible but still no answer. Should i call them and whats their number? Do you have any different email that i can contact?
June 7, 2020 at 2:05 pm
There is no other email or number.
June 7, 2020 at 2:17 pm
I checked my Dv lottery 2021 result and I was not selected. Will there be 2nd draw? Do you know how many person won from Liberia?
June 7, 2020 at 2:59 pm
You can check one more time in November.
No statistics yet.
June 8, 2020 at 12:21 pm
Bro am from LIB too.
Results are poor for Liberia this year.
Almost all my friends that we all fought hard to get our passports just to play our DV are all negative when I call them about their results
June 7, 2020 at 8:34 am
I have a question
My case number is EU37***. I sent the required documents from KCC in November and I am still waiting for the email to confirm the documents. Seven (7) months have passed, BUT the police certificate in Albania is valid for 6 months from the date of issue.
Should I re-send the scanned documents again including a valid police certification?
In Albania, people who have not yet received an email confirming the documents have been suggested to re-send the documents.
What do you suggest?
June 7, 2020 at 2:12 pm
The police cert would be OK up to 12 months, but you should check with KCC about your documents and they may say to send the documents again.
June 8, 2020 at 11:59 am
“When you send your documents to the embassy before your visa interview, you must include a copy of the payment receipt that you received from the Albanian Post Office when applying for the certificate. We cannot accept certificates that are more than one (1) year old.”
It says that they accept certificates that are less than 1 year old, however it’s confusing since the validity of Albanian police certificates is 6 months generally
June 8, 2020 at 4:57 pm
For DV purposes they are acceptable up to 1 year.
June 7, 2020 at 7:54 pm
Do you think there will be 2nl in june? I am cn 221**. I may not be notified for an interview
June 7, 2020 at 11:34 pm
I really hope so – but it all hinges on whether the embassies reopen.
June 8, 2020 at 10:11 am
Thanks for the update , please how can I check the results of DV 2021 ? Thks
June 8, 2020 at 4:44 pm
June 8, 2020 at 10:13 am
I remember that once you had a chat with the KCC DV manager. May I request you to re-contact him and extract the exact info oh how do they plan to proceed with DV2020 as of now.
Santosh Kumar Sah
June 8, 2020 at 4:45 pm
You need to understand. There is no firm plan. They don’t know when the embassies will open. No one can be sure. All we can do is be patient.
June 8, 2020 at 10:49 am
Would you have any guesses of what happens to people who had their interview cancelled last minute.
I had my interview April 7th and everything closed down on April the 6th. I obviously had done and sorted all my paper and medical work done. The embassies open slowly for American passport owners first. I feel hopeful and think I should be one of the first ones up when they totally open right?
June 8, 2020 at 4:48 pm
Now that we lost July, there is a high chance that July will be for rescheduling cancelled interviews. BUT that assumes embassies open soon.
June 8, 2020 at 10:53 am
Do you have any guesses regarding people who had their interviews cancelled last minute?
I had my interview set for April 7th and everything got shut down from April 6th here in The Netherlands. I obviously had sorted all my paperwork and medical. The embassy is now opening for US citizens first but it seems like if they open for more other interviews I would be up quite quick right? Im being very hopeful but still doubtful as you never know in this world of course.
Looking forward to your thoughts and thank you so much again for all the time you take in answering, making videos and updating us!
June 8, 2020 at 11:47 am
I filled out my DS260 late in May, Now unfortunately, my daughter got a hold of my passport yesterday and ended up tearing it. Now My question is; Is it possible to change the passport info later on, once I’ve replaced my old passport?
June 8, 2020 at 4:56 pm
June 9, 2020 at 5:43 pm
At what point will I be able to change the passports.
If asked to submit passport bio page, Should I send for the old passport or the new passport?
June 9, 2020 at 9:40 pm
Get the new passport and decide then.
June 8, 2020 at 3:45 pm
hello brit there are people who are receiving the document OK. There is even one that I sent after I and they sent him an email that he had mistaken documents and they answered him, but the issue is that it is a minor number. Could it be that they are reviewing by case number? it really is already maddening or ok nothing or ds260 or documents and they’ve been there for almost a month
June 8, 2020 at 9:24 pm
Hello again Brit! When I asked you before the ban if EU24k is safe, you told me it was almost a silly question…😅Is it now still a silly question if embassyes open on 23rd june?I got me documents confirmes in early March.
June 8, 2020 at 10:18 pm
You asked me that on February 21. Within days later the whole world was turned on its head. The pandemic (more than the subsequent ban) has caused chaos so now no you are not safe. We don’t know when the embassies will open, but clearly there will not be time to interview everyone in the remaining time. So – you will have to wait and see if you become one of the lucky ones.
June 9, 2020 at 7:21 pm
Hello Mr. Brit. My case number is Eu46xxx. Do you think i will have a chance to have an interview date? Thank you!
June 9, 2020 at 9:57 pm
Too early to know.
June 10, 2020 at 9:55 am
I was chekcing the DoS website and found this https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Statistics/Immigrant-Statistics/MonthlyIVIssuances/APRIL%202020%20-%20IV%20Issuances%20by%20Post%20and%20Visa%20Class.pdf
That showed about 69 Diversity visas being issued globally in April, (during the ban) so I was wondering if the ban is extended and the routine interviews begin, can the embassies schedule DV interviews and issue visas?
June 10, 2020 at 11:25 pm
No, NOT “during the ban”. During the closures, yes, but before the ban.
It was AP cases from previous months.
June 10, 2020 at 1:46 pm
Called the KCC for documents confirmation, this time they said they’re processing.
(Last time they didn’t have visibility)
June 11, 2020 at 12:19 am
June 11, 2020 at 1:08 pm
2020AS27XXX. They are processing my case too. Fingers crossed.
June 11, 2020 at 1:41 pm
2020AS27XXX. They are processing mine too.
June 10, 2020 at 6:06 pm
Hello Britt. I hope you are fine!
My CN is 311**. I received the email confirmation email on March 17th.
1. Will I have a chance to be interviewed?
2.And can Trump’s ban on DV2020 be extended?
Thank you in advance!
June 11, 2020 at 12:48 am
1. Possibly – if the embassies reopen.
2. It can, but that is not done yet.
June 11, 2020 at 1:40 pm
Hey Brit I found this link what’s your ideas on it thx. https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/09/politics/consulate-general-wuhan/index.html
June 12, 2020 at 12:16 am
Just opening a high profile embassy. Doesn’t mean they are doing interviews.
June 11, 2020 at 5:04 am
hope you fine AND doing well
Is it fact that KCC has been started the scheduling of all cases (include DV cases) from June-4 ?
June 11, 2020 at 5:22 am
June 11, 2020 at 6:56 am
Hi Dear Britsimon, I was asked KCC about the status of my documents. They replied that,
“Collect and submit your documents promptly. Your case will not be scheduled for a visa interview at a U.S. embassy or consulate until KCC has received and processed all required documents. Missing or illegible documents will delay processing of your case. If you cannot obtain a particular document, send a scanned or photographed explanation in of why you cannot obtain the document, as an attachment in .jpeg or .pdf format, to KCCDVDocuments@state.gov, with your case number in the subject line. Diversity visas are numerically limited and there is no guarantee a visa will be available. Only a consular officer can determine, at the time of the visa interview, if you are qualified to receive a Diversity Visa.”
So, now i want to ask you that should i send the old police certificate or have to get the new one? Because the police certificate which now i have is older than 6 months.
June 11, 2020 at 9:40 pm
DV2020 I assume? Send the old one because you are very close to running out of time.
June 12, 2020 at 5:13 am
Yes, I’m dv 2020 winner.
Thank you very much dear Britsimon!
