This is for June 2019 interviews.
OK, so as discussed previously, we are now seeing fast VB pace. As I explained, the cases that have not submitted their documents cannot be scheduled, and since it seems KCC are sticking to the plan (no documents, no interview), they need to increase the VB fast to yield enough cases that can be scheduled. I would not be surprised to see around half or more of the interviews go to backlog cases, and I think there will continue to be cases not scheduled for interview where they should be. That will be an aspect of busier embassies, that simply don’t have a lot of spare capacity.
I am concerned at the low number of visas issued thus far. This will mean interviews being scarce in later months. It is extremely important to make sure you are submitting your documents. EVERYONE should now submit their documents whether they are asked to do so or not. Once you have submitted, wait a week or two and ask KCC if they are satisfied with the documents. Don’t leave it much later.
Those that are current, and have forms processed early enough, they can expect their 2NL in about 1 to 2 weeks from now. This is the same every month. VB from the 8th to the 15th of each month, and 2NLs in the second half of the month. For the last few months there have been 2NLs sent in two main batches, some early (around the 15th to 20th) and then some in the later part of the month. But given the low numbers that may not be necessary. I would expect the 2NLs to have all been sent by the end of this month. The end of the month really means THE END OF THE MONTH. Please don’t waste my time later this month asking about 2NLs. Please. They can be sent right up until the last day of the month.
To those new to looking at VBs, let me explain what the “except” XXX country means – and you can also read this post on how to read the visa bulletin.
Processing is spread out over the full year. You can see the progress of the two previous years in this post about basic questions. However, some countries have a high number of selectees and those selectees are concentrated in the lower case numbers. For various reasons, mainly to do with embassy capacity, KCC slow down certain countries as compared to the region. So – in Africa, any case with a case number shown as under the new number can be interviewed but for cases from Egypt, that number is lower. That isn’t a big problem, it just “slows down” those countries a little more than the rest of the region. Since selectees from those countries all have lower case numbers, this slowing down does not present any risk. It does not (at this point) mean they won’t allow all selectees an interview from those countries.
To understand why some countries get lower case numbers, read this article about the lottery draw process.

Hello Britt,
what basically does the uscis look in the bank account. How much money you have or the source of the revenue? If my parents gave me 4000 USD as pocket money, will I be questioned as to why i get that money though I work since 5 years in a sector which needs people in the USA as per the onetonline.org
April 23, 2019 at 19:30
The amount, and that is there a long time to suggest it is your money.
April 25, 2019 at 18:27
Thank you. Do you mean that the source of revenue from my parents is not of interest to them but only the amount of money on the balance ?
April 25, 2019 at 23:08
That is not what I said. They want to know it is yours. If it is a recent deposit you might need a letter from your parents to explain how you got it, but honestly, $4000 is not a lot of money.
April 24, 2019 at 14:18
Hi BS, my case number is 2019AF3369 I submitted my DS260 three months ago no email from kcc or nvc Iam worry what should I do?
April 24, 2019 at 14:50
Have you sent your documents? If not – do that.
April 24, 2019 at 16:57
BS, No I have not send any documents besides filling out the DS260 form. The Guy helping out in this process to me yesterday I can’t send documents when kcc or nvc did not send an email requesting documents, he further said how can I do my medical and get police clearance when there is no email to show that kccdv asked me to send these documents. So Iam really confused. Please help me out. Thanks
April 24, 2019 at 17:15
The person helping you isn’t helping.
Read the link below and send the required documents. Unless you do that, you will not get scheduled.
https://britsimonsays.com/new-document-submission-procedure-update/
April 25, 2019 at 03:20
I think the medical should be done after 2NL.
If our experience helpes related to the police clearance; the police officers asked us to show the interview appointment letter or any other evidence related to the process, and we print out DS260 confirmation page to get the clearance.
April 25, 2019 at 08:44
Dear Brit Simon,
Thank you very much for the guidance you provide to us!!!!
I am a DV2019 Winner from Sri Lanka (AS14xxx)
According to VB – May 2019, My number to be CURRENT by August or September 2019 under the current pace.
Question1
I waited till March 2019 End to Apply for the Police Clearance as it will expire in 6 months. Because it gives me time till Sept 2019 end to use that clearance report. As Sri Lanka is having a religious/cultural festival in Mid April I also waited that to end till apply for that report.
Now the problem is, series of terrorists attacks took place last week and still the problem is highly risky. Therefore, traveling to Colombo (Capital City) is a high risk factor. I do not think, the situation will not be controlled for many weeks to come. Still, even apply for the report also, it will take more than usual time to issue the clearance report.
I received an email from KCC asking to submit documents 2 weeks ago.
I think I need to EMAIL the Passports, Birth Certificates & Police Report at-least by June End (AS14xxx). Am I right?
Question2
I am afraid to Travel to Colombo to apply for police report, because still bombs are been found and terrorists are on the loose.
I think of writing an email to KCC explaining this situation and asking for an exception for the Police Report to be submitted via email, to submit that during the interview (without emailing them). Because, that will give me more time to obtain the Police Report, once the terrorists situation is under control.
Will that be a good idea?
Thank you in advance
April 25, 2019 at 09:21
HI, I am Chamil from Srilanka. You don’t need to go Colombo to apply for the police clearance certificate. You can get it online from here – https://eservices.police.lk/ClearanceCertificate/home.action . If you need additional information email me – [email protected]
April 25, 2019 at 14:17
1, No – faster than that. You could easily be current earlier, and you do not want to cause additional delay this year. End of May, LATEST.
2. You can try – but I would simply follow instructions if I were you. You can also apply online (instructions in the reciprocity page).
April 26, 2019 at 09:31
The VB for Africa is 37200 that means it’s increasing ,with my Case number being AF39XXX does it mean that I will be scheduled for June ?
April 26, 2019 at 14:23
No, not June. Maybe July.
April 26, 2019 at 10:04
Hello sir.
If the sponsor
. 2018 annual incom is 67,786
.Total annual expenses is 58,094
.Net profit or ballance is 5,692
He’s a américain citizen now and he’s there more than ten years.
As his net profit is $5,692 will the embassy of côte d’Ivoire accepte that??
April 26, 2019 at 14:36
That net profit (business net profit I assume) is not enough to show as a sponsor. However, I am not an accountant, and you have listed this so simplistically that I might be getting the wrong impression, because no one can live on $5692 per year.
April 26, 2019 at 14:54
Thanks for the answer.
Trus me I saw the incom tax return.
April 26, 2019 at 12:15
Hi BritSimon,
I’m a DV Lottery Winner 2019. When i applied to the DV Lottery, i was in Africa. Currently i’m living in Europe with my kids but my spouse still living in Africa. When i submitted the Civil Documents to KCC, i requested to undergo the intrview in Europe but my husband could do it in Africa. As i still waiting the 2NL, do you think my case will succeed? I mean to undergo the interview in different locations with my husband?
April 26, 2019 at 14:37
No. He will need to come to the interview with you. There is not a good system for him to have his own interview and very little time left in the year.
April 26, 2019 at 14:45
Thanks for clarification. So, is it feqsible to undergo the interview out of Africa if you’ve applied and selected from Africa region!
April 26, 2019 at 14:56
Yes, but you would have to change the interview location BEFORE the interview is scheduled to avoid delays later. Read the FAQ about doing that.
April 26, 2019 at 15:22
Thanks endeed! So, the current intent of my spouse is to withdraw from the coming interview in order to let the prinxipal applicant and tje kids family to undergo the interview in Europe alone as he still in Africa. May be he’ll join the family more later. Do you think it is allowed by Kcc/US Embassy to let someone to withdraw from the interview if he has already submitted the civil documents to KCC, and let the principal applicant to proceed the process?
April 26, 2019 at 15:24
By not attending the interview he is in effect withdrawing.
It will then take around 2 years to bring him to join you in the USA in which time you will need to be living and working in the USA (in order to meet the sponsorship requirements).
April 26, 2019 at 12:40
Please has any one from AF region received his or her 2NL??
April 26, 2019 at 13:01

Yes from Cameroon
April 26, 2019 at 14:20
Hello Mr Brit Simons
I am a DV 2019 winner from Cameroon. The issue is, during initial entry I committed an error on my name. Instead of Frank Morel, Noumbiss with “Frank Morel” as surname I had on my initial entry Frank, Morel Noumbiss with Noumbiss on section of given name. I enter the name correct on DS-260 as on passport and other official papers. Still on 2nl my name appears as Morel Noumbiss, Frank.
My question is, can this cause denial? Thanks

April 26, 2019 at 22:07
The only problem is you have not paid attention to the VB and your number. You are not current yet. You need to wait. This is the second time *today* I answered you about this- please don’t ask again.

Hi BritSimon. Please
What are the most frequently asked questions for a single person?
May 2, 2019 at 02:33
Ironically, You can read about that on my FAQ.
May 2, 2019 at 10:43
Hi Brit,
I have a questions about the evidence of education at the visa interview. I don’t have a copy of my secondary school diploma but l have the originals and copies of my BA and MA certificates. Someone told me that they insist on seeing the school diploma even if I have higher education .. is that true?
May 2, 2019 at 13:17
Some COs will insist on that, yes, although that is becoming less common since a rule clarification a year or two ago.
May 2, 2019 at 18:48
Thank you. Do they ask for the secondary school certificate of spouse (with higher education), too?
May 2, 2019 at 18:50
No
May 2, 2019 at 16:19
Hi,Brit has anyone ever been disqualified because of a communicable disease after receiving vaccine?
May 2, 2019 at 17:35
In the FAQ there is a list of the diseases that are relevant to this process. Those diseases, *IF untreated*, cause ineligibility for immigration.
May 3, 2019 at 07:33
Brit,i read of one is been vaccinated, it will not cause denial however
May 2, 2019 at 21:35
How are you Brit i want you advice me .brit i am the applicant.brit my qustion is about my wife .brit her passport name and herbrith certeficat are the same.brit but she miss same letters in completing dv lottery on her father name .what shal i do brit?
May 2, 2019 at 22:04
It doesn’t matter.
May 5, 2019 at 05:34
Hi Brit,
If we have a bank statement with $30000 (for a family of 4) at the interview, do we still need to have the affidavit form? And if we still need it, should we have one for every applicant or only for the principal applicant? Regards
May 5, 2019 at 14:19
Your savings might be enough, but if you decide to remove the risk (“might”) then you need one I-134.
May 5, 2019 at 19:39
Got it. Thank you very much!
May 5, 2019 at 09:38
Hi Britsimon,
Hope you are doing well,
Am from DV2019 winner my case number is AF41XXXXXX, some of my documents still absentee because my job is far from capital where i should get some documents such as police clearance and I have only one chance or off time once a year and that is at the beginning of June until July my question is according to my late case number;
1. Should I submit my Ds260 and necessary documents to KCC in late on June 2019?
2. Is there any problem with that issue?
3. Kindly requesting to benefit me your experience?
Am doctor at far rural area.
Have a nice day,
Goodluck Mr Britsimon.
Am huury & I will appreciate your response.
May 5, 2019 at 14:26
Your number is likely to be current in the next bulletin (within a week or two). So – submit your DS260 now. You can then submit your documents as early as possible in June – but to be clear, you are introducing risk by leaving everything so late.
May 5, 2019 at 15:27
Excuse me Mr BritSimon I have lost my passport but I have as a scan with full information amd takes to renew a couple of weeks.
How about if I submit information in the first Page of my lost passport?
Am very busy according to my nature of job.
I havr appreciated your respond.
Thanks & Regards,
May 5, 2019 at 15:58
You can do that, yes.
May 6, 2019 at 08:58
Noor,
Do as brit said.its like you haven’t been following up his post, because you are already late owing to next vb
May 6, 2019 at 19:20
Dear FrankLine, what is your recommendation. Please brief your idea.
Thanks,
May 5, 2019 at 17:10
Thank you much once again Britsimon,
According to your experience, my cas number is 41k at what time is’t applicable to submit Ds260.
Is’t exist a deadline time or time no later to submit ds260 ?
If I submit June or July my ds260 is’t ok.
I have appreciated your patient and hummanity,
Thanks & Regards,
May 5, 2019 at 19:08
I already told you that you need to submit your DS260 now. You are already creating risk. The final September interviews will be from cases that have their DS260 processed AND documents submitted by the beginning of July. DS260s can take time to process. So – get on with it.
May 6, 2019 at 06:50
Hi,brit good morning. Thanks for the update with which you are helping us.. God bless you on and on.

May 11, 2019 at 05:14
Hi Brit,
Is affidavit i-134 form required in all American embassies around the world?
May 11, 2019 at 05:17
Please read the FAQ.
May 11, 2019 at 05:34
Thank you. I read it, FAQ state that “Not all embassies request it as a matter of course, and some hardly ever request it”. But I heard that there is a list of countries which request it .. is that true? How can I know if it is required at the embassy in Muscat? Do you think I should send them an email and ask them?
May 11, 2019 at 05:44
Better yet – just assume you’ll need it.

May 14, 2019 at 08:21

May 14, 2019 at 13:44
No
May 14, 2019 at 21:29
Hey BritSimon, thank you for your hard work. Africa goes “CURRENT”. my question is : is that take too long to receive an Interview Email from KCC?
May 14, 2019 at 21:44
I don’t understand the question, but please read the latest article about July interviews.
May 14, 2019 at 20:32

Hi Mr BS, I received my 2nl on April 24, I have summited my kcc request n they reply saying currently processing….is it possible i be interview June or July?
May 15, 2019 at 14:21
Not June for sure. Probably not July if you say they are currently processing now.
May 15, 2019 at 17:12
Its been 8 days now since I sent it
May 15, 2019 at 19:18
Then not July either. August.
May 15, 2019 at 09:18
Hi Brit,
Currently, I live away from my home country and this is where I will have the visa interview. I got police records from the embassy of my home country to send to KCC but they expired before the interview date. Should I get new police records for the interview even though I didn’t go to my home country during this year at all. ?
May 15, 2019 at 14:26
Personally I would do that simply to remove the question.
May 15, 2019 at 16:37
Thank you very much for your reply. The problem is that issuing a new police record may take a long time. This line is stated on Travel.State.Gov: “Police certificates expire after one year, unless the certificate was issued from your country of previous residence and you have not returned there since the police certificate was issued”. Do you think this statement is applicable on my case?
May 15, 2019 at 19:13
I already said. Why not renew to avoid the question.
May 15, 2019 at 20:21
Sure I will try to renew it. The problem is just that it takes a long time and I am worried it won’t be issued before the interview date.
May 15, 2019 at 17:11
Technically, you may not need to update the police cert, but if it were my case, I would.
May 15, 2019 at 17:23
Got it. Thanks a lot.
May 15, 2019 at 09:22

May 15, 2019 at 17:11

May 15, 2019 at 19:08
