This is for May 2019 interviews.
It is clear that the new document procedure has created a backlog. This backlog is obviously a factor in the VB progression. Normal logic would say that if cases cannot be scheduled because of the new document process, that would mean the VB would be able to move faster. However, there is a backlog of cases from previous months that is absorbing a high number of the interview slots available each month, and that will cause an opposite effect on the VB (slowing). So – it remains to be seen how each region will be affected. The effects will probably not be the same in each region, because a region such as AF is slow to react to a new procedure whereas other regions will react faster.
As I have explained before however, I do expect pace of the VB to increase toward the later months. Why? Firstly because it always works that way in the regions where there are country limits. Density reduces in later number ranges, so more case numbers need to be made current to get the same number of cases to interview. Secondly the new document procedure will mean that some people will not be able to be scheduled to be interviewed, so again, KCC would then have to increase VB pace to fill the interview spaces. But as I mention above, the backlog will have an impact on that, so I would urge people to “wait and see”.
Those that are current, and have forms processed early enough, they can expect their 2NL in about 1 to 2 weeks from now. This is the same every month. VB from the 8th to the 15th of each month, and 2NLs in the second half of the month. For the last few months there have been 2NLs sent in two main batches, some early (around the 15th to 20th) and then some in the later part of the month. But given the low numbers that may not be necessary. I would expect the 2NLs to have all been sent by the end of this month.
To those new to looking at VBs, let me explain what the “except” XXX country means – and you can also read this post on how to read the visa bulletin.
Processing is spread out over the full year. You can see the progress of the two previous years in this post about basic questions. However, some countries have a high number of selectees and those selectees are concentrated in the lower case numbers. For various reasons, mainly to do with embassy capacity, KCC slow down certain countries as compared to the region. So – in Africa, any case with a case number shown as under the new number can be interviewed but for cases from Egypt, that number is lower. That isn’t a big problem, it just “slows down” those countries a little more than the rest of the region. Since selectees from those countries all have lower case numbers, this slowing down does not present any risk. It does not (at this point) mean they won’t allow all selectees an interview from those countries.
To understand why some countries get lower case numbers, read this article about the lottery draw process.

Thank you Mr Brit. According this visa bulletin, I’m current and I’m just waiting my 2 nd letter now
March 14, 2019 at 12:27

March 14, 2019 at 12:28
Many thanks Brit! My CN is AF244** I am current but, I haven’t received any e-mail which assured me about the documents I have sent to KCC.
March 14, 2019 at 19:36
Send your documents to KCC.
March 14, 2019 at 12:30
Great jump.
I am from Africa and am very happy about the way we move from 18900 to 24500.
I am hoping that my case will be current in the next bulletin.
My case is AF28***
March 14, 2019 at 19:37
If you have not already sent your documents to KCC, do that now.
March 14, 2019 at 12:32
Hi brit,My interview is on April, i have some question, i am from Ethiopia
1. My sponsor have changed his address (city, not state) so what should i have to prepare for interview about this?
2. i have recieved my police certificate on 13/11/2018 but my interview is on the last of april 2019, so is it will expired on my interview date?
March 14, 2019 at 19:38
1. Just update the address at the interview.
2. I would suggest getting a new police cert and take BOTH to the interview.
March 14, 2019 at 19:54
hy am from ethio too can u giv ur email pls i wanna ask some info
March 14, 2019 at 12:33
Thank you Brit, we are also current a few cases below the Europe cut-off. We sent finally the documents yesterday without having received the instructions by email. Our visa status is still NVC on CEAC. Do you think that we have still a chance to receive the 2nd letter soon or we sent the documents too late? Was very challenging to get all documents and translations on time…
March 14, 2019 at 19:39
It is likely you will get a June interview – but wait and see.
March 14, 2019 at 19:47
Thanks Brit so we might miss the May interviews . Does it make sense to call KKC in the next days to make sure that our Case Number is in process with the recent delivered documents? Especially if we do not receive any feedback on our documents.
March 14, 2019 at 20:01
No. Just wait.
March 14, 2019 at 22:28
Hi Sir Brit,
Thanks for your blog and help
Am from Cameroon and I don’t know what is police certificate I asked but didn’t really figure out what it was. We just sent
1) birth certificate
2) passport
3) criminal record (what is called in French “Extrait de casier judiciare”)
Can Police certificate block us at the due date?
Thanks for your help
March 14, 2019 at 22:47
You MUST read the instructions including the reciprocity page for your country. If you had, this question would be unnecessary.
March 15, 2019 at 11:10
hi Nel,
what you need is a certificate of non conviction (extrait de casier Judiciare).
Don’t be worried.that’s what others from Cameroon who won before have been using.
March 16, 2019 at 04:46
Hello am from camerroon too…what’s your case number…the police certificate required is called certificate of non conviction..
March 14, 2019 at 12:48
Hi Brit 2019AS12XXX do you think will go current in july or aug in your humble opinion??
March 14, 2019 at 19:39
I don’t know – it doesn’t really matter does it??
March 15, 2019 at 08:24
Brit, as I will be moving from my present address in May, should I reopen my DS260 in May or just change it during interview? Worry might cause delay if I reopen again
March 15, 2019 at 15:24
Interview.
March 14, 2019 at 12:54

March 14, 2019 at 13:05
Hi brit, EU28 line. Can we say I’ll make it? Last year it stopped at 25 but this year we are way further. Thanks buddy, see you in America
March 14, 2019 at 19:40
Wait and see.
March 14, 2019 at 13:23
Hi Simon,
I’ve reopened and just submitted the DS-260 the same day of the bulletin and I’ll send the documents in a couple of days. What are my chances to get a 2nd letter this month?
March 14, 2019 at 19:40
Low to none.
March 14, 2019 at 14:22
Thank you Mr Brit. According this visa bulletin, I’m current in May. but i have 1 question. my daughter can’t give interview in May, she will be abroad. Can she give interview seperately in July or August? Did you meet same case? What should we do? Write to KCC email before our interview date or after it?
March 14, 2019 at 19:45
I would strongly suggest you interview together. She “might” be able to get a later interview for her alone, but it is very risky. Ask the embassy about that (and complete the I-824 forms to take to the embassy).
March 14, 2019 at 14:55
Three limits for limited countries have been exceeded – Nepal, AS (AS6320); Ukraine, EU (EU20750); most likely Ghana, AF (AF22840-AF24800). Enjoy!
March 14, 2019 at 15:08
AGNOSTIC What do you mean by this … Europe has a chance to become current????
March 14, 2019 at 15:05
Is it better to become Currnet …. In this way every embassy will have a lot of capacity to process issues … Do we know that the winners are equally distributed in the region of Eu ???? Can you give me your opinion ??
March 14, 2019 at 15:17
Oops. Nepali limit has not been reached, that was a typo.
>Europe has a chance to become current????
I still think all regions most likely will become current. Europe – in August or maybe even in July.
March 14, 2019 at 15:42
Helo brit , my case no is 2019AS 12XXX. Do you think will current this case no? When ?

March 15, 2019 at 12:29
why, Cazier(Police Certificate) it is good just for 3 months in my case at least, so till 25000 we have to wait 3,4 or even 5 months..
March 15, 2019 at 15:39
Follow my advice, or don’t. Your call.
March 14, 2019 at 18:01
Hi, I made up a little soft “DVAnalyser” letting me to run some algorithms on the collected DATA; so, for Africa Region; from 18900 to 24500, there are actually 3381 real cases (ignoring the derivatives etc), so starting from 24500, to fill the 3381 real cases in the next month, it should be (acording to my Soft) 31555, but i expect it’ll be lower ( some backlog ), but the interesting thing is that from 31555, to fill 3381 real cases we do need a jump of 10k… what do u think ?
March 14, 2019 at 19:50
I think that should already be clear from MANY articles I have written about the process.
March 14, 2019 at 18:51
Hi Brit tell me if I send documents in kcc is not welter or it’s normal time or what I need do I don’t now.. answer me pleas. My cn. Eu 25***

March 15, 2019 at 06:39

March 14, 2019 at 22:51
If you have already sent documents, then maybe.
March 14, 2019 at 20:21
hi brit i have some questions is that all the selected ones have to send the documents or only a few to designate by the kcc so your answer must be clear EVERYONE OR WHO RECEIVE the email only ?.
CURRENT at the end of the year what do they mean?
thank you
March 14, 2019 at 22:51
Everyone will need to submit documents.
Current means every number can be interviewed
March 14, 2019 at 20:22
Hi Sir,
My case is EU 28k do i send the documents?
March 14, 2019 at 22:50
Sure
March 14, 2019 at 20:31
Hi Brit
Has the new document procedure created a backlog for AS?
Thank you.
March 14, 2019 at 22:49
It doesn’t matter for AS.
March 15, 2019 at 00:08
Thank your reply.
March 14, 2019 at 21:50
Hello Mr Brit,
My cn is af32000 should I send my documents now?
March 14, 2019 at 22:47
Sure.
March 15, 2019 at 11:10
And for EU29XXX ? Should I wait ?
March 15, 2019 at 15:33
Your choice.
March 14, 2019 at 21:57
hope all the selected will go to USA INCHALLAH
March 14, 2019 at 23:19
Hi Brit. Thanks for helping us. I have been selected and l am current for May. My question is which documents should l send ? AF23***. I have lived in another country 4 years. Should l send also the police record of that country. Please kindly reply me
March 14, 2019 at 23:29
You MUST read the instructions!
https://britsimonsays.com/new-document-submission-procedure-update/
March 15, 2019 at 05:59
Ok Brit. Thanks once again. But l still have one confusion. Should l send one police record or two differents. Like l have mentioned in my first question, l have lived abroad 4 years. So should l send the police record of that country also ? Or only my own country police record. Thanks in advance and please kindly reply me
March 15, 2019 at 06:44
Both. And read the instructions.
March 14, 2019 at 23:37
Hi Brit
My cn is AF23XXX
I have submitted my ds260 and all required documents and I ve received the confirmation from kcc.
My only issue is that I have lost my original HS diploma so I made a request to the education department to get a new one.
Since this new diploma is not the original one, will this be a cause of visa denial ?
March 15, 2019 at 02:42
No, as long as the replacement is legitimate
March 15, 2019 at 05:23
Dear Brit,
Thanks for the amazing work done here. I am scheduled for an interview on 4th April. I had not completed DS260 for one of my daughters because I decided that she is not immigrating with me. Would that cause me issues on my interview?
March 15, 2019 at 06:45
No.
March 15, 2019 at 05:28
We are AF 45xxx and 4 more bulletins to go. We just had our baby. Can I go ahead to get and send the police certificates as it’ll be less than 6 months before the time of interview if at all we’ll be scheduled ?
March 15, 2019 at 05:53
Hi Buddy,
I think police certificates are for adults alone not for kids.
Thanks,
March 15, 2019 at 23:04
Question is if we (adults) should get our police certs and send now even though we are not current yet. Af 45xxx
March 15, 2019 at 06:45
Yes
March 15, 2019 at 06:52
hello BRIT MY Case number is AF 24*** but I submitted my ds 260 lately on September 2018 and I’m not asked to submit documents. Should I have to send now.
March 15, 2019 at 15:18
Yes
March 15, 2019 at 06:59
Hello brit,
Thank you very much for what you are doing!
My case number is EU26***, I am from Russia and have couple of questions
Question 1:
As I understand with such CN it is a good idea to send documents already now. However, police clearance cerificate in Russia only lasts 3 months. What to do in this case? Got 2 options, leaning to the 1st one, but wanted to check with you
Option 1: Get police clearance, send it along with other docs and get a new one for the interview
Option 2: wait 1-2 months more to send docs and hope to have interview in 3 month following the receipt of the clearance
Question 2:
I haven’t served in the military but have a document that states that I am included in the army reserve (a doc that you have to have as a male in Russia). Does it need to be sent? I am planning to send it, but a bit hesitant in order not to include additional unnecessary docs
Question 3:
I am beginning Business school studies in September. Will most likely have both tourist and student visa by mid-summer. Can this fact somehow affect my interview?
Question 4:
Will most likely be in US already for studies during the interview time. Given what I have read about AoS it is better to go through CP process. Planning to fly back from US just for the interview. Do you think it is right course of action?
Thank you in Advance
March 15, 2019 at 15:21
1. Option 1
2. No need to send what they haven’t asked for, but take it to the interview.
3. No
4. You don’t have a choice. You cannot enter with the intention to adjust status. CP.
March 17, 2019 at 18:10
Mikhail,
Are you going to receive an police certificate from gosuslugi or mfc/mid?
March 15, 2019 at 11:10
Hi Sir,
If my case is EU 28k and if i send documents now so if my interview will be in august or september so is the police certificate acceptable in august or september which i send now?
Best regards.
March 15, 2019 at 15:30
Dude, come on – you have been around long enough to have seen this question asked and answered 100 times already. Send one now, get a new police cert late and take both to the interview.
Please read the FAQ, read the articles, use some of your own judgement.
March 17, 2019 at 18:32
Turan the doctor, his father is a top surgeon.
March 15, 2019 at 11:33
Dear Simon,
I have sent the documents today ( which the Auto reply says:”The Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) has received your email and is currently processing your documents”) I am current for May.
my questions are:
1. Is it possible for me to receive 2NL end of this March? am i going to receive it?
2. Am I going to remind KCC since the above email that i received is Auto reply, to check that they need to process it as I have to receive 2NL till end of march?
Thanks
March 15, 2019 at 15:34
1. Unlikely.
2. If you think it’s a good idea to waste their time – sure.
March 15, 2019 at 21:51
Thanks Simon,
About question #2 I am amongst those who advocates to not waste someone’s time for silly question. It was only because I have limited information about how 2NL is processed and sent.
Sorry if I disappointed you.
So is it possible to receive 2nl even after the current vb for a case number? That means for my particular case#Af23*** is it possible to receive 2nl after March?
Thanks Simon once again
March 16, 2019 at 00:29
Yes. Someone not scheduled in their current month will normally be scheduled later.
March 16, 2019 at 03:45
Thank you Simon. I owe you for all that information.
March 15, 2019 at 11:39
Hi Sir.
My case is EU 29k do i send the documents????
Thank you.
March 15, 2019 at 15:34
Now or within a few weeks…
March 15, 2019 at 13:08
Hello ! My casenumber is AF19xxx , I have sent my documents in November, and received only an automatic email reply from kcc, am current for may , is there a letter that is sent to rassure about the documents or I should just wait until I get my 2nl ? Thank you
March 15, 2019 at 15:40
You can ask them if your documents are sufficient, and they will respond to that.
March 15, 2019 at 15:10
Thank u sir for all your support during my DV process…I did my interview this week & The CO puts my case on AP due to need of original degree document..my question is do u think z CO will issue me a visa after I submit my original document??
March 15, 2019 at 15:41
I don’t know anything about your case, so how could I possibly know?
March 15, 2019 at 15:13
I mean Does z CO have to consider anothet factor to decide on my case ??
March 16, 2019 at 11:31
Hello from Ethiopia leave me your e-mail if you can
March 15, 2019 at 17:50
Hey Brit,
I have 6 day in the USA and when i went to apply for a SSN number they told me that i should wait 3 weeks because of procedures. they didnt ask me to fill an application. I didnt undertsand them very well, so the SSN will come to me by mail even without an application these days, or i should fill an application after 3 weeks??? i really need this information cuz there is a job opportunity and I dont have a SSN yet…or I should go to another office maybe they can fill me an appilcation without waiting :/
March 16, 2019 at 00:21
In the DS260 there is a question about having USCIS apply for an SSN for you. If you chose that option, the SSN should be produced automatically. So – did you select that option or not???
March 21, 2019 at 05:12
In my experience that is a hit and miss. I know of a lot of folks that asked for a SSN to be issued in their DS 260 and yet never got one until they submitted a request, which was my case too. I’d say visit an office and ask if they have started the process for you, if not submit a request for a SSN then and there.
March 21, 2019 at 13:52
Yes – I have explained that before – but in general more people get the SSN automatically than don’t.
March 15, 2019 at 19:58
@Adminstrative processing Ethiopia, is you have graduated from Govrnment university or not??
March 15, 2019 at 20:09
hi brit i have a different question i am eu25k and i haven’t recieved any document email yet, but i understand that i should send my documents to kcc now. the problem begins here, i forgot the e-mail adress that i gave to kcc when i do my application to dv2019 (it can be xxxgmail or xxxhotmail). so if i send my documents to kcc via one of these e-mail adresses and let’s say it’s the wrong one, can it cause any problem?
March 16, 2019 at 00:23
No problem.
March 16, 2019 at 13:43
and this e-mail should contain my case number, name, surname, date of birth. am i right?
March 15, 2019 at 20:49
Hello sir I salute you. Based on the current vb my case number is current for may interviews. I sent my supporting documents immediately I was asked to send them and that was in November 2018. By may my police certificate would. Wanted to ask if I should take it like that to the interview or I should do a new one .thank you
March 16, 2019 at 00:23
Personally, I would get a new one (once the 2NL arrives)
March 16, 2019 at 18:09
Thank you for the response sir
March 15, 2019 at 21:15
Hi all, I am wondering why a few people were asked to send the documents months before and others, like us, did not receive any notification. Fortunately we read this blog and the documents are sent already…when you think about it there should be thousands of winners who has no clue about this new procedure! It is not so fair. Any comments are welcome.
March 16, 2019 at 00:28
I don’t know why. Hopefully people who don’t read my blog (are there any people that don’t??) will at least read the instructions.
March 16, 2019 at 06:43
Yes but the instructions in the official immigration website do not indicate any email address to send the documents to. I am pretty sure that some people are just waiting for their the 2nd letter your valuable blog. Fingers crossed now…
March 16, 2019 at 11:37
Hello Brit. Me again, sorry but I have a question. Actually I just have the attestation of my degree. I got my bachelor degree at the university in 2017. While applying for the diploma in 2018 I was not informed and I was not on the campus. And the diploma is not delivered at anytime, so for this year is already passed. The next will only be maybe next year for applying. My question is, does it cause any problem if I bring my attestation to my interview please? If yes, what should I do now that I can’t apply anymore for the diploma this year please?
Thanks dear. Best regards
March 16, 2019 at 13:56
Take all the education proof you have, MOST importantly, the high school education (prior to University).
March 16, 2019 at 14:01
Alright thank you so much dear.
March 16, 2019 at 22:39
Hello Mr Simon thank you for all the help and support. I have a question about my case. My cn is EU 271** do I have a chance to have an interview this year? When is the appropriate time for me to sent my civil doc . To kcc with this new procedure ?

Interviews are scheduled…..

Wait and see.
March 17, 2019 at 15:12
hI B RIT, thank you for your info. My CN is 21xxx. I have summited my docments amd outomatic reply came to me too. how long shall I wait for 2nl? a week ago outomatic reply has come. is it normal?
March 17, 2019 at 16:19
Normal. 2NL might come this month, but more likely in April (for June interview).Be patient.
