2NLs are starting to be sent for July interviews. Again, as has been the pattern for the last three months, these are earlier than normal, I expect we will see similar unusual process this month, so the 2NLs might be spread out over a few days, or even the next couple of weeks – I don’t know for sure. So – look out for the email – and check the ESC site.
Last month, some people got 2NL emails but then had to wait days or even a couple of weeks before the interview letter showed on the ESC page. Other people waited until the beginning of the following month to get their 2NLs and ESC page update. So – be patient, stay calm. If your 2NL is delayed, it has nothing to do with President Trump and doesn’t mean aliens have invaded. Just relax and be patient. Some physicians won’t schedule the medicals unless you have the 2NL in hand, BUT these interviews are for JUNE, so there is plenty of time.
The other thing that happened last month was that some people did not get scheduled as they thought. Those people should find they have been assigned to July interviews. In the same way, it is possible that some embassies will not have capacity for the large number of cases to be scheduled this month – so some people will have a difficult wait until the end of the month.
The email itself has no useful information. It simply tells you to check the ESC site for the interview details. Some people that receive the email will find the ESC site is not ready, those people should try again after a few hours. Also, some people find the email itself goes to a trash or spam folder or somehow miss it. So – if you think you may have been scheduled but missed your email, you can check the ESC site, just in case. The 1NL (you have been selected letter) is replaced by a new letter which gives the appointment details.
*** please for our willing scrapers – let’s get scraping (as we can then identify the cases that have been scheduled, and that tells us how many interviews are being scheduled per embassy/region ***

HI Brit ,it seems nothing is real moving for AF.Any explanation ?
June 11, 2018 at 21:31
No – we don’t know for sure why the 2NLs are so low.
June 11, 2018 at 23:44
Hi Mr Birt
I heard from someone saying that, oftenly some winners nvc doesn’t send them their sndls although they are current ,is’t true, by the way I noted in this DVD 2018 some examples ,I found some are current in certain months and missed their chance to be interview that happened in March, April, please can you make explanations the reasons behind that.
Thank you .I’m
June 12, 2018 at 00:16
There are some cases at the moment being delayed. We don’t know the exact explanation.
June 12, 2018 at 00:22
Thanks for your response.
June 12, 2018 at 02:47
We are getting nervous. It is 31 days since we went current and nothing seem to happen for Africa cases-(no 2nls). Is it really normal? Anxiety is building. Any explanation?
June 12, 2018 at 04:08
It is not true to say there have been no 2NLs in AF region – however, there are many people being delayed. It seems those cases will be pushed to August now. I don’t know exactly why this happened.
June 12, 2018 at 05:39
it’s a reassuring answer … Personally the only thing I need to know is if the omitted cases will still be scheduled for an interview regardless of the month… We become more and more worried. This is understandable
June 12, 2018 at 14:25
I don’t know what they will do.
June 15, 2018 at 18:56
Hi Brit the idea of pushing those who did. Not received the 2NLS in June might it not affect those who are to received their own 2Nls in August?why not send the 2Nls for late July?
June 15, 2018 at 19:01
I don’t know how the backlog of cases waiting to be scheduled will be handled.
June 12, 2018 at 04:23
Hi brits,
Just want to know 1 sponsor can support 2 people with different visa case or not

June 12, 2018 at 16:36
Hi Simon. Can you tell us when August VB will be published?
June 12, 2018 at 17:19
Simon doesn’t work for KCC. Patience.
June 12, 2018 at 19:30
By the 15th….
June 13, 2018 at 02:47

June 13, 2018 at 05:11

June 13, 2018 at 05:21
https://dvcharts.xarthisius.xyz/ceacFY18.html
June 13, 2018 at 05:45
Mr Simon,
I filled ds260 on early May 2017 and after consultant with you, I unlocked it in June 2018 to add some information. Does it affect the case negatively?
June 13, 2018 at 14:32
No
June 13, 2018 at 07:50
Dear Mr BritSimon,
I am really sorry for taking your time, here I would like to ask two questions.
1. About all cases from Afghanistan are in AP, from 74 cases only two are issued the rest are in AP. what can be the reason for this.
2. I did my medical check on 04 Nov 2017, They said that it will be expired after six months, I am sure it expired, So do I need to do it again or wait to receive any e-mail or call from embassy. I sent them an email but they said that your case is in AP and will inform you when it is processed.
Thank you in advance,
June 13, 2018 at 10:08
Salam,
1. I have already asked this question from Simon. He does not clearly know but he thinks of security concerns. I don’t agree with him however. It is not possible of thinking that they are refering to 86 of 88 people as not clear.
2. Yes you do, if you are issued a visa.
June 13, 2018 at 14:46
You don’t agree. So what is your idea then?
June 14, 2018 at 10:12
Simon,
Security concerns are not something new in Afghanistan. So, whay only in 2018? Why even about a US embassy almuni member?
I think the number of SI Visa affected DV 2018. They announced a lot of SIV. Therefore, they decreased the DVIV. I AM NOT SURE HOWEVER.
June 14, 2018 at 14:23
Nonsense. One thing has nothing to do with the other.
June 13, 2018 at 14:37
1. Security concerns.
2. When the embassy clear the AP they will tell you to repeat the medical.
June 14, 2018 at 06:42
Thank you very much for your quick response,
June 13, 2018 at 16:37
Hi Karim! Hope u do well, I’m from Afghanistan too, my interview is in July. I’ll be pleased if u could share u’r interview expereince with me. This is my email address [email protected]
June 13, 2018 at 13:15
Hi Simon. Can you tell us when August VB will be published?
June 13, 2018 at 14:55
JUST. LIKE. EVERY. MONTH.
BY THE 15TH
June 13, 2018 at 13:24
Hi Simon,
I can not find my high school diploma. However I have my bachelor degree and Masters (originals) and evidence of work experience. Will this be sufficient ?
June 13, 2018 at 13:49
You had better to issue replacement of lost from ministry of education anyway it’s my advise to you, wait Mr, Simon response.
June 13, 2018 at 14:56
Some COs will insist on the HS evidence.
June 13, 2018 at 15:04
Even if you give them a PhD degree, they will insist in seeing your high school diploma.
June 13, 2018 at 20:45
They “may” insist. Some COs won’t.
June 13, 2018 at 21:42
Thank you
June 14, 2018 at 17:16
Depends on the degree and the country. In some countries there are ways to get into the university without having a high school diploma, and there are some universities (usually private and for-profit) that would accept students without a high school degree. DV requires the equivalent of an american high school diploma, and COs would insist on seeing this simple but strict requirement if they have doubts.
June 14, 2018 at 19:56
I know all that. But I also know that the rules were somewhat clarified a couple of years ago with the wording “AT LEAST” a high school education – so there are some COs that will apply the old standard (and might insist on HS diploma etc) and there are some that could accept higher degrees as meeting the criteria. So the point is we should say “may” rather than “will”. Over preparation is the ideal.
June 13, 2018 at 15:36
Brit,
I did a little research kinda thing on that ceac data.. so, as region is current till 10,500 And Nepal is current till 6325. When I sort the whole data by consulate and I select all none and I again sort it by status. So, the final number I get having consulate none and status at nvc.. are they all from Nepal?
June 13, 2018 at 20:46
No
June 13, 2018 at 20:18
Hey brit/ guys sorry to bother, from your experience, what’s the typical delay between the data on CEAC and the current situation? What I want to know is like, the average time embassies generally take to update their data, so that if I look at the scraping website summary chart I can tell “alright this data must be updated up to…” (a month ago? / 3 weeks ago? / 2 weeks ago ? yesterday ? )
June 13, 2018 at 21:23
There isn’t an average. It varies.
June 13, 2018 at 20:52
This is more of gambling why should AF region be treated this way
June 14, 2018 at 11:33
It’s a lottery so…even the civil servants at KCC can use some gambling
June 14, 2018 at 05:11
Next vb AT go 44k
June 14, 2018 at 07:28
Hi, my case number is 2018AF00033*** i filed Dc 2016 early may but not yet getting 2nl, i am worried about the remaining days.
Happy to be on this platform
June 14, 2018 at 08:36
Hi Brit, would you say that it is normal that people who are supposed to have interviews in july still has not yet gotten 2nl’s,I understand that kcc is probably very busy at this stage due to 2019 applicants
June 14, 2018 at 14:01
No it is not normal
June 14, 2018 at 17:50
So we must worry
June 14, 2018 at 09:34
The pressure is unsustainable!!
June 14, 2018 at 11:27
What about winter is coming ?. Maybe you need a chill pill
June 14, 2018 at 12:15
Hi Simon, I will ask my question as quick as possible: As I filled my DS260, I answered the question about drugs honestly and wrote; yes I was a drug addict, but that was 20 years ago and yes there was a case about using of drugs(I ve got the documents as well),but I was not arrested. Now I event don’t smoke nicotine and my criminal record is also clear. All of it
I wrote was true. So,do you think, that a drug addiction in the past causes to a rejection or a delay?Thank you…
June 14, 2018 at 14:27
It will probably cause additional delay for drug tests at the medical.
June 14, 2018 at 15:08
If it will be only a “drug tests results waiting delay”, no problem? Thank you fyi, you’re very kind
June 14, 2018 at 17:20
With all this delay, it seems there are lots of “going on” in KCC. Maybe they’re still waiting for a confirmation from AF embassies to take a decision about the number of new current cases for august.
June 14, 2018 at 17:28
When will August visa bulletin publish?
June 14, 2018 at 19:57
Ahh yes… If only there were some sort of regular pattern to the release date…
June 15, 2018 at 10:03
August visa bulletin just release
June 15, 2018 at 10:38
The july bulletin is published friends!!!
June 15, 2018 at 11:06

June 15, 2018 at 13:35

June 18, 2018 at 10:16
Also from Cameroon but no 2nl yet, CN AF35xxx hopefully this week we will get it
June 18, 2018 at 14:16
Why 2nd letter notification for July is till keeping for now
June 18, 2018 at 19:31
No more July 2NLs will be sent. That means some people are being delayed from July (and June) and now should expect their interviews in August. I don’t know for sure why this happened.
June 18, 2018 at 15:34
Hi Simon, The Affidavit of Support form is necessary for all applicants? I am currently emplpyed for a major automobile manufacturer abroad and will take another position for this manufacturer in the U.S.
June 18, 2018 at 15:56
It varies by case – but unless you have proof that you will get a transfer, the new job is just something you are saying. So – in some embassies, that would be a problem.
June 20, 2018 at 14:45
Dear Simon
After we receive 2NL what should we do next?
Thanks
June 20, 2018 at 15:10
Book the medical, and prepare documents.
June 21, 2018 at 03:06
Thanks Simon
June 20, 2018 at 19:03
Hi Brit ,my case was current for July ,but not yet received 2NLS ,when do you think I should receive and why the delay ?
