2NLs are starting to be sent for March 2020 interviews (DV2020). Please note – I am saying STARTING to be sent, some 2NLs will be sent right up until the end of the month.
Please also understand that 2NLs are only sent to cases which are current, had submitted their DS260 so that processing has been completed on that AND they have sent their documents some time ago (assume before the beginning of this month). If someone only sent their documents in the last week or two, that was probably not in enough time to get on the list to be scheduled this month.
Some people previously got 2NL emails but then had to wait days or even a couple of weeks before the interview letter showed on the ESC page. Other people waited until the beginning of the following month to get their 2NLs and ESC page update. So – be patient, stay calm. Some physicians won’t schedule the medicals unless you have the 2NL in hand, BUT there is plenty of time before these interviews, no need to stress out!
VERY IMPORTANT. 2NLs will be sent during the remainder of the month. If you do not get yours today – no need to freak out, just wait. There is no need to ask me or anyone elseabout specific regions or countries, assume any country or region could have 2NLs as late as the last day of the month (last day in the USA, not where you live).
Also, you will not get the 2NL if you have not submitted your DS260 AND your documents to KCC AND your case number is not current (lower than the VB number for your region). If ANY of those three things are not true you will not get the 2NL, and there is no need to ask me about that – it should be clear (especially as I have repeated this information many times before and a couple of times in this article).
The email itself has no useful information. It simply tells you to check the ESC site for the interview details. Some people that receive the email will find the ESC site is not ready, those people should try again after a few hours. Also, some people find the email itself goes to a trash or spam folder or somehow miss it. So – if you think you may have been scheduled but missed your email, you can check the ESC site, just in case. The 1NL (you have been selected letter) is replaced by a new letter which gives the appointment details. You log in to the ESC page with your original confirmation code (from when you entered the lottery.
If you want to know more about the 2NL – you can watch this video:

You are too late for a March interview. It will be much later – May or June.
February 18, 2020 at 17:22
Dear Brit,
My case number is AF2572** KCC have emailed this “Congratulations! Our records indicate that you have submitted all required documentation to the Kentucky Consular Center and are ready to be scheduled for an interview when your case number becomes current. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing.” on jan.06th. My case has been current for march but i have not recieved my 2NL yet. Should i expect it to be sent or contact KCC. Thank u in favor
February 18, 2020 at 20:16
Jan 6 was too late for scheduling in January – so you will get a 2NL in February for April interview. No need to contact them.
February 18, 2020 at 13:13
Hi,
My case number is EU41XXX. I have uploaded my documents in October, unlocked and resubmitted DS260 on 29th of January. I haven’t received anything from KCC regarding the interview. Is it normal or should I contact them? Also, what are the chances of my interview being scheduled in April?
February 18, 2020 at 15:16
Contact them.
February 18, 2020 at 15:23
Hello Brit,
Not to sound as if I am smart or something, but I don’t think that he should contact them, only for the reason Ramzi said that his case number is EU 41K. Since Visa Bulletin for April is 21,200 and his number is 41K, he has to exercise some patience, until his number is current.
Sorry if I am mistaken.
February 18, 2020 at 15:33
I said contact them because it is possible that he/she thinks they have the documents and in fact they don’t.
February 15, 2020 at 12:08
Hello Mr. Brit
Thanks for the good work you are doing. Forever greatful.
Could we please get a sample of 2Nl letter posted here?
Assuming it’s all standard except for personal details I.e CN, interview embassy etc etc.
Am sure will learn a thing or two as we await our turn.

Sent KCC the required documents(marriage certificate, police certificate, birth certificate and passport bio) and they replied telling me that I didn’t send the required documents. So am confused as to what documents they wanted me to send them again.
Do I need to reply their message to find out which documents they are requiring me to send to them or I should send them the documents again.

February 5, 2020 at 16:43
Hello all,
Just want to share interview experience:
Location: KDU
Came to US in 2002 on student visa. Finished couple of degrees. Was On TPS status since 2015, out of status for 9 months before TPS. Selected for DV 2020. Went for Consular processing with TPS AP, attended interview on Jan 15. Questions asked were: if I finished studies? where do you work? what’s the position? do you have sponsor? (no sponsor-self sponsored), presented tax docs, asked my wife same questions about work ..then things got little tough, how long was out of status period? why didn’t you leave the country? I said my wife was pregnant? why didn’t you leave US after having baby? He told me that my intetnion was to stay in US indefinitely. I kept my cool and told him I couldn’t travel because of the new born baby and couldn’t enroll classes due to running out of finance after my second masters, then he gave passports back and told me that it will have to go through admin processing, I asked the timeline and he said he didn’t know. Long story short, interview was horrible and the consular was full of attitude. I thought that was it but I assured myself that this is not discretionary and they have to play by the book, I had spent too much time going through dv lottery manuals and INA sections, so there was still hope. I had 35 days in total to get approved or return back to US with no decision since AP may take several weeks, 60 days or more. Luckily after 2 weeks of interview, got an email to submit the passport which I did next day and got visa issued two days before the flight. Going to pick up the passports tomorrow and heading back to US on Friday w/o postponing the flight.
Thanks BritSimon for all the work you do and good luck to all the fellow DV Selectee 2020.

February 2, 2020 at 19:48
Hi Brit will kcc continue to sending 2 nl or on still after the next vb?
February 2, 2020 at 20:22
What do you think?
February 2, 2020 at 01:40
Hi Brit,
I have CN AF17XXX from Egypt, I have filed my DS-260 in May 2019, received the e-mail from KCC requesting documents on Nov.3rd and sent the documents on November 12th, 2019
I received the KCC documents auto reply mail confirming they have received the documents but did not receive confirmation mail that the documents are processes
My number got current for interview in March, but I did not receive the 2NL and was not scheduled for March
I contacted KCC by phone on January 30th and they told me that my DS-260 have been processed but the documents are still under processing and they recommend sending the documents again, I have done so but I am still worried if I do not catch April interviews
1) Do you have any advice?
2) Will sending the documents again delay the processing of the documents?
February 2, 2020 at 02:05
1. Do as they have told you.
2. You appear to have missed the point! You are not going tpo be scheduled in April because your documents are not processed. Follow their instructions.

Hello brit,
Have a question, following the new travel ban for Tanzania and sudan, for its people not to participate in DV lottery.,
Does this ban affect people who already won dv 2020 and they are in process to get diversity visa?
February 1, 2020 at 19:44
Yes. I am just about to post a video about that.
February 1, 2020 at 09:47
Hello Britison im Nancy case number Af 24 I received my 2nl 29 January and I have been trying to login to instructions and it keeps on saying site is unavailable

January 31, 2020 at 22:54
Brit just to be more specific, I am already in the country with a J1 that is going to expired Feb 4th, for this reason H1B.
Can i fill out the ds260 anyway, right?
January 31, 2020 at 22:58
Well I cannot give you legal advice. You have not been clear about the H1, and you may have unresolved issues with a J1. I suggest you discuss this with your lawyer.
January 31, 2020 at 22:15
I Brit
Thanks for your help!
I have a question:this week my employer submitted the H1B for me, and it is written that uscis will take 3weeks to decide.
My number will be current in April, can I fi out ds260 or I have to wait for the H1B? I am scared to send the documents too late! I read that somebody that it is current in February sent the document in g
January and he will get the interview in April!
Thanks
January 31, 2020 at 22:30
I don’t know what stage you are at with the H1B or what your processing time will be. But the H1B is a “dual intent” type of visa, meaning a DV application won’t affect it, nor vice versa.
January 31, 2020 at 22:50
Ok,just to be sure that I understood well, doesn’t metter if I start to fill out the ds260 because the visa is dual intent, right?
Sorry to bother you so much!
Thank you very much!
January 31, 2020 at 15:39
Hi Brit,
I have submitted my DS-260 application on May, 13th 2019 and I have submitted all documents required on October, 31th 2019. On Jan, 14th 2020 I received KCC e-mail which said :”Our records indicate that you have submitted all required documentation to the Kentucky Consular Center and are ready to be scheduled for an interview when your case number becomes current.”
The VISA Bulletin for March interviews indicates that I’m current since my CN is EU14XXX, but I still haven’t received the 2nd letter for the appointment.
Is there any chance that I will be scheduled on March or should I expect to be scheduled on April?
Thank you in advance.
January 31, 2020 at 17:42
April.

January 30, 2020 at 12:00
Hey Brit
Does it affect visa result if i ask the embassy to unlock ds-260 after being scheduled for interview? Interview is scheduled for the end of march. Ds form unlock may be needed to correct some spelling error in the name of the derivative applicant.
January 30, 2020 at 20:05
You cannot unlock now that you are scheduled.
January 31, 2020 at 06:44
But i heard people did unlock via embassy and added social website account info.
January 31, 2020 at 17:32
That is possible if the embassy orders it.
January 30, 2020 at 08:55
Hi Brit,1.Does the public charge rule include DV lottery cases.2.if yes how do we overcome it,I mean the amount that you need.3.For instance,I that have Hepatitis B,can they refuse me on the grounds that may be you are going to need treatment in the states and for that matter, because Of the cost of treatment in the states, you will depend on Medicare and for that matter, you will be charge with public charge rule and for that reason deny me visa.reply
January 30, 2020 at 19:52
it’s clear that people are confused about this – so I will be creating a new video to explain this. But why are you planning to use medicare???? You need to have a plan to pay your way – particularly since you have a medical condition.
January 30, 2020 at 02:53
Hi Simon,
i have contacted KCC regarding the document i have sent about 2 months ago whether they have received my documents or not and they responded me with the following email; I am confused, do they mean i have to wait until my number get current to ask them if they have received my documents? thanks
Thank you for your inquiry.
After sending documents to [email protected], you will receive an automatic reply to your email. If there are no attachments, the auto reply explains there are no documents attached to the email. If there are attachments, the auto reply explains we received your email and are currently processing your documents. Please allow time for processing of your documents. Documents are processed in numerical order, based on lottery rank number. Once KCC has processed your documents, we will let you know if anything is missing or if we have received everything needed.
The adjustment of status fee to the Department of State has been paid or indications on your DS-260 show that you wanted to adjust your status in the US. The payment of the adjustment of status fee indicates to KCC that you are residing in the US and wish to process your case at the local USCIS office. As a result, KCC did not continue the processing your case.
To continue this case to consulate processing, please notify KCC with your request.
In order for the Kentucky Consular Center to assist with inquiries regarding a specific Diversity Visa (DV) case, you must provide the Principal Applicant’s full name, complete case number, and date of birth in the following format (MMDDYYYY) as entered on the original entry. Please remember that the Kentucky Consular Center does not have the authority to tell you whether or not your specific case will be disqualified. Only a consular officer can do that at the time of your visa interview. Do not send any paper documents to the Kentucky Consular Center.

January 30, 2020 at 17:29
That is not the email that says they have processed your documents. So – either they don’t have them or you sent them very recently.
January 30, 2020 at 17:50
thank you for your comment. Do you think i should submit them again? its confusing, because i have sent my documents almost 2 months prior to this email asked them whether they have received or not.
January 30, 2020 at 20:23
You can send again – but you must check the needed documents very carefully – most likely you did not send a comlete set of documents and they will simply ignore the documents unless you send everthing according to the instructions.
February 1, 2020 at 21:14
Thank you
January 29, 2020 at 23:12

Hello Brit. Thanks for your help again and hope you’re doing fine.
I’m EU247** And I was told from some dv lottery winners I know, that even if they’ve submitted their documents when we’ve been all asked on October, thier documents weren’t received by KCC.When they asked KCC about their case, their answer was:We haven’t received any documents from you.So I called them today to ask about my documents and the answer was : We can’t give an answer until your number will be current.Your ds260 is in being processed (I filled the form on May 19’).And they told me just to call again within 2 or 3 weeks. The girl was pretty gentle and kind.
What do you think Brit? Our documents are received by KCC or not?
January 30, 2020 at 21:03
Hi Brit, maybe you forgot to answer my question, thats why I’m posting it again.

I cannot know.
As for the thing they said (that they could not answer until you were current) that sounds like you were asking a different question. They certainly can tell you if your documents are satisfactory. Call again or email them.

Hello Brit,
My number is current in Jan for Asia. I already submitted the DS260 form. All the required documents I emailed them to KCC on Sep 26th 2020. Since that time I have not heard anything from KCC.
In CEAC, it is still showing “AT NVC”.
Should I wait or contact KCC?
Appreciate your advice.
Thanks.
January 26, 2020 at 18:41
You need to contact KCC. It is likely they do not have your documents.
February 2, 2020 at 11:30
I contacted KCC, submitted my documents again on 29th of Jan and got an Automatic reply from KCC that they received them. Next day, I received another email from KCC saying: “Congratulations! Our records indicate that you have submitted all required documentation to the Kentucky Consular Center and are ready to be scheduled for an interview when your case number becomes current.”
My case number is current in Jan.
CEAC status still showing: AT NVC.
So, shall I expect to receive my 2NL this month in Feb?
Thanks Brit.
February 2, 2020 at 16:37
Yes
February 15, 2020 at 11:20
hi Brit, thank you for all your effort. I have similar situation. I have submitted my documents on January 22th. I got email from KCC: *The Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) has received your email and is currently processing your documents. This email address, [email protected], is only used for applicants to provide the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) with documents required to continue processing Diversity Visa applications…….* Based on previous comment does it mean I have to receive *congratulations….* Email for being scheduled? Does it mean if I didn’t get these *conversations….* KCC didn’t receive my documents?

Of course they don’t care if you are a blogger. Why are you concerned??
January 24, 2020 at 19:40
1.Is June 2020 too late to send your documents and still get interview for sep 2020.or is ok 2.how many weeks does it take for ds 260 to be processed.3.if cases becomes current, and maybe two people have sent their documents the same day, will the lower case number receives 2nl first before the higher.
January 24, 2020 at 21:56
1. That could be risky. The only way to know for sure is to try it – but I do not recommend that idea.
2. It varies from case to case.
3. Not always.

Dear Brit,
My case number is AF24***. KCC have emailed this “Congratulations! Our records indicate that you have submitted all required documentation to the Kentucky Consular Center and are ready to be scheduled for an interview when your case number becomes current. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing.” on December 18th. My case has been current for february but i have not recieved my 2NL yet. Should i expect it to be sent or contact KCC. Thank u in favor!
January 24, 2020 at 17:46
You could not have been scheduled for February as your documents were only cleared in December. So – you should get a 2NL later this month for March interview.
February 15, 2020 at 23:41
hi Brit, thank you for all your effort. My case number is EU58**, it was current in December, however I have submitted my documents on January 22th. I got email from KCC:
—- *The Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) has received your email and is currently processing your documents. This email address, [email protected], is only used for applicants to provide the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) with documents required to continue processing Diversity Visa applications…….*—-
Based on previous comments, does it mean I have to receive *congratulations….* Email for being scheduled? Does it mean if I didn’t get these *congratulations….*email, KCC didn’t receive my documents?
February 16, 2020 at 15:58
It means you have to be patient.
January 24, 2020 at 16:06

Hello Brit

I waited patiently as advised and I got 2nl as predicted.
I just want to say that I didn’t received 2nl email from Kcc (even in spam I found nothing) …
.I just went to esc link this morning to check like I usually do… Then I found that I got notified on the 22 of this month on the date… Ceac status also shows ready…
For someone who might be experiencing similar case as mine….try checking your status
Thank you
January 24, 2020 at 16:56
Yes – that is part of my regular advice…
January 31, 2020 at 21:46
Hi dear, please was ur case number current for a month before you receive the ur interview date, because my case has been current from Last week but i haven’t received the interview details
January 23, 2020 at 08:06
Hi Simon,
In the blog post you state “…. Given that this is the final month we have to wait and see whether many cases will have been unable to be scheduled….”
I am case OC3XX but haven’t submitted. Can you please confirm what you mean by “final month”?
Thanks

Ignore that – it was a mistake in the article (now corrected).
January 23, 2020 at 05:35
Hi Simon,
The 2nl for March that just STARTED ?, are sent based on numerical order? For example somone got the 2nl with CN 133** , while myself with CN 131** not yet ( email confirmation for documents same 10/12). Thanks for your time.
Milena
January 23, 2020 at 05:36

January 23, 2020 at 20:35

January 23, 2020 at 05:30
Dear Britt,
Thank you very much for your amazing job.
Really appreciate it!
My cn Eu 13××× and today i got my 2nl regarding my interview. The date will be on 17 of March.
A friend of mine who already got the visa told me that at the moment u get the 2nl u will also get the health visit dates.Havnt got it.
1)Do you have any infos about that?
How should i proceede further?
Also i got married after i was selected for dv 2020 but i can prove that im in a relationship since 2017.
I already printed some photos of me and my wife done before the results and even 2 years ago.
Is it ok with this?
2)What should i do regarding our conversation on whatsapp and social network?
Should i also printscreen those sms done before the dv2020 results and after too to proove that our marriage is true?
Im getting a bit concerned about this cos ive heard that it can happen that the main applicant can be issued the visa but the derivative might not get issued the visa but if they still doubt,is it possible to.give them my phone so they can check?(It happened once that they asked somebody to give to the officer their phones)
My father in law was refused the dv lottery some couple of years ago even that he was selected and my wife she tried to get a scholar visa but also refused.
Might this affect?
The main problem is that our situation is a bit unique,we are 2 brothers married with 2 sisters.
Actually i am married,my brother is just engaged.
But as i told you before,we are in a relationship since october 2017.
Please guide me how should i proceede because i am really worried.
3)Im graduated from Moscow State Institute of International Relations and many ppl tell me that because of that u might get punished but i can prove that I am pro Western and pro my country showing them, my diploma thesis.
Getting really concerned because ppl are making me crazy telling that my gf,now my wife ,will affect in refusal and also studying in Moscow.
Really im very very confused and worried
Please give me ur advices and opinion.
Thank you in advance!

NUMBER ALL QUESTIONS! One question per number.
1. YOU arrange the medical based on embassy instructions. That is on the instructions you already have.
2. Print them out if you want.
3. Don’t listen to nonsense.
January 23, 2020 at 00:45
Hello Brit,
2020EU00017XXX here, should be current in March.
DS260 sent in July, unclocked and locked again in October, documents sent on December 4th 2019, got the automatic reply: “The Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) has received your email and is currently processing your documents……” and to wait 3 to 6 weeks for the answer.
After those 6 weeks I sent two emails to KCC regarding the documents, and got two replies back with no answer if the documents are recieved or are they ok. The emails looks like they can be sent to anyone, nothing specific in them.
Has anyone experienced something similar, is there something to be done, besides waiting?
January 23, 2020 at 00:55
Yes others experienced similar. The 6 weeks should not be considered reliable. Processing time will vary by case and will be affected by backlogs. Least stressful thing to do – take up yoga.
