People are now receiving their 2NLs for June interviews, it will take a few hours – and possibly even a couple of days before all have gone out.
The email itself has no useful information. It simply tells you to check the ESC site for the interview details. Some people that receive the email will find the ESC site is not ready, those people should try again after a few hours. Also, some people find the email itself goes to a trash or spam folder or somehow miss it. So – if you think you may have been scheduled but missed your email, you can check the ESC site, just in case. The 1NL (you have been selected letter) is replaced by a new letter which gives the appointment details.
It would be GREAT if those that received their 2NLs would add a reply to this message saying when they submitted their DS260 and their case number. That helps us understand the processing time for the DS260 and let’s us understand the backlog
Please add your first submission date, and if you unlocked please add that resubmission date and the data you changed. That is helpful for all.
Now – if you do not get your expected interview, please come back here and read updates to this page to see the feedback I will have received.

April 27, 2016 at 15:47
It takes time – wait another month.
April 28, 2016 at 04:09
how much did you pay for GC each person ?
April 27, 2016 at 15:45
af3998$, will I get july interview
April 27, 2016 at 17:33
Probably.
April 27, 2016 at 17:26
Dear simon, i already got my 2nl, the problem is that when I applied at the beginning my birthdate was 29,sept because that was what my passport say, after i been accepted i went to issue a birth certificate, then I shocked that my real birth day was 28,sept.means the error in one day. I issued a new passport and I filled my ds-260 with correct birthdate. And I got a certificate from my embassy prove that my old and new passport for the same person and my new birthdate is the correct one. In your opinion or from previous experiences for members who you know, do you think that will cause a reject for me?. Thank you very much in advance.
Case number :2016AF31xxx
Appointment : Guangzhou, China
Submitted Ds-260: 22 of June 2015
2nl:22th,april 2016
Appointment :7th June 2016
April 27, 2016 at 17:33
Your case is unusual because the embassy won’t see many DV cases. There is some risk, but the only way to know is to attend the interview.
April 27, 2016 at 17:46
You’re right, they usually focusing on Chinese IV issues.Actually they send me the appointment letter including my info with the birthday of DV form(wrong one) and that put more stress on me. Otherwise, all documents matching with ds-260. Moreover, I have the old and new passport. May that help in my case
April 27, 2016 at 18:53
You are highly likely to be put on AP for some period of time because they won’t recognize your education documents.
April 28, 2016 at 13:04
I got my master and PhD degree from china, so why do you think they won’t recognize them. Furthermore, I forgot to tell you that I’m not principal applicant, I’m a beneficiary with my daughter. My spouse is the winner, and her documents have no problem in general view.
April 28, 2016 at 14:09
OK – they won’t care about your education at all then since you are the derivative. It is only a concern of foreign credentials.
April 28, 2016 at 14:42
Aha, got it. As long it matter of credentials, and as long I have all official evidences for correction about the mistake on my old passport with an official letter addresses that error. For all that, in your opinion. What will be the drawback. I’m concerning about collecting more information about my situation, special from expert person such as you. So, I really appreciate all what you say or advise
August 28, 2016 at 14:26
There is someone asking about the interview experience at Guangzhou. Could you write some brief notes on how it went?
April 28, 2016 at 09:07
Dear simon
I’m a dviste of the last year. I have already be in usa 2 times. I still have think to arrange in my country before my installation in usa. But last time to get out of the airport ; the officer of the immigration asked me why i went out for so long(3 months). I told the thruth. But i went out again. And i will be out for 6months. Do you think i will have the same problem to enter the next time?
I played the lottery 2017 for a friend, but i lost the paper of confirmation. How can i know if he have been accepted or not.
Thank you
April 28, 2016 at 11:39
dear franc hello
allow me to answer your question
if you dont have the confirmation no of the 2017 lottery
go to the same page you checked your lottery the entrant status check esc…
the click on you forgot your confirmation no option .
then follow the rest but you hace to remember the e mail which you submitted earlier on your primary entry
April 28, 2016 at 14:12
You might be questioned – just tell the truth.
Hesham has correctly answered your question about the confirmation code.
April 28, 2016 at 11:39
Good day Brit!Got a question regarding the affidavit of support( I 34) .Section three[3] of the form has a part to be filled for ‘Name of spouse and Children or following to join person’.Does the sponsor have to fill in separate forms for the applicant’s derivatives even if he has already included their detail under section 3 of the form? For instance, for my wife and child? The reason why i ask is that the purpose of the form says ‘the sponsor must file a separate form for each applicant’.Sorry might sound silly but want to be well informed such that no reason of technicality would occur regarding the documentation i have to submit during my interview.
Thanking you in advance Sir!
April 28, 2016 at 14:10
The one form is all that is needed.
April 28, 2016 at 13:13
Britsimon
I am 2016 DV winner from Liberia and i just got my appointment letter which is scheduled for June 2nd. i plan to do my Medical one week before my interview. will it not be a problem for me ?
April 28, 2016 at 14:08
You should ask the doctor that question, since they have to produce the report. It is up to them.
April 29, 2016 at 07:56
hello Brit,
regarding school and university degrees, original are required or copies can do the job? thank you
April 29, 2016 at 09:18

April 29, 2016 at 14:44
Yes – by having the originals there, there can certify the copies are correct.
April 29, 2016 at 14:49
Originals or certified copies if originals are not available.
April 29, 2016 at 08:47

April 29, 2016 at 14:14
What embassy?
April 29, 2016 at 15:46
algiers embassy
April 29, 2016 at 16:19
Algiers have been known to ask for an I-134. You can risk interviewing without one – but considering your case number (and that your interview will be in September) that is a big risk. If they ask for an I-134, there will not be enough time to get one and present it at the embassy. So – get one.
April 29, 2016 at 18:09
Daer brit.midcal is before interviwe or after .
April 29, 2016 at 18:23
Before.
April 29, 2016 at 22:45

My CN is AF0052000
Im from algeria I alredy have my cousin in the usa and he will sponsor me
my questions are
-Shall I wait to became current to ask him to send me the I-134 or there will be no problem if he send it now.?
– What the other document will i need from the sponsor in addition to I-134?
-Do you think that the KCC will arrive to my CN?
April 29, 2016 at 23:53
1. Wait for a while, your interview won’t be for some months yet.
2. Tax/income info – 1040/W2/Payslips/Identification.
3. I cannot be certain if they will reach your number – wait and see.
April 29, 2016 at 22:54
Dear simon what DS260 number means
April 29, 2016 at 23:52
It is a form you fill in during the DV process.
April 29, 2016 at 23:55
I received an emil from AD embassy to fill form for deliver my passport after interview in that form asking for DS260 number
where can i find that no.
April 30, 2016 at 00:23

April 30, 2016 at 01:16

May 1, 2016 at 16:37
THat is possible, with some risk that the embassy will connect both cases.
May 1, 2016 at 15:29
hi dear mr , simon
My question in the same direction of I-134 am derivative my wife is principle under CN 433XX
she played the first submit DV as we are marriage , viz Not a marriage after win
1- Can we begin to receive I-134 from now gain of time available & avoid delays ??
2- Necessary to Written I-134 in the same name characters the principle ??
3- Do you win and you are married is better than who marries after win (About credibility) In the first case you need to marriage certificate only & in second case you need to marriage certificate & Prove the marriage details.
thanks lot
May 1, 2016 at 16:36
1. Yes you can.
2. Yes
3. Both are OK, but yes marriage before win is subject to less scrutiny.

May 2, 2016 at 00:36
Dear Sir
As per my information normally the medical examination is required before visa interview, thus I will highly appreciate information about my case; wether it is asked before and when? Or after the interview.
May 2, 2016 at 04:13
Yes the medical is done before the interview.
May 2, 2016 at 05:15
What is your estimation for the up coming visa bulletin , some people expect it will be from 38000 to 40.000
May 2, 2016 at 13:56
I have already said I expect an increase of about 7000 (roughly)
May 2, 2016 at 08:04
Hello dear britsimon
In fact i already received my 2NL and interview on 15 June in my country Khartoum Sudan and right now i am in Malaysia for studying so my question is?

May 2, 2016 at 13:52
You arrange the medical with the panel doctor for the embassy.
May 2, 2016 at 11:05
Hello sir, I m leaving for US on may 15..what is the procedure to get ssn and gc after arriving there????
PS:: I have already paid 165 USD.
May 2, 2016 at 13:51
Normally both things are sent to you. The SSM should arrive within 2 to 3 weeks, the GC takes 2 to 3 months.
May 2, 2016 at 16:59
Please tell me how to arrang, is there any email add?
May 2, 2016 at 17:08
For goodness sake! This is all clear if you read the instructions – and you clearly haven’t. I can’t do everything for you, and if you haven’t taken the time to read the instructions you will miss something else important to your case!
The physicians are those that each embassy approves. So – you need to read the instructions and find out which physicians are approved for your embassy.

May 3, 2016 at 14:00
You must get the police cert.

May 4, 2016 at 14:03
Hi daer brit.
He is one important point in the interview can fail .
May 4, 2016 at 16:50
Dear BritSimon,
I had my interview today. I was born in country A but am a citizen in country B, both my parents are from country B. My foreign chargeability state is listed as country B even thought I was born in country A. Both are eligible countries from the same region. Today during the interview the CO asked me so you were born in country A? and i replied yes and she said that was fine. She approved my visa, congratulated me and gave me a slip which stated that your visa has been approved. That slip was provided to everyone whose visa was approved. She told me it would take around 1 week to get my visa, returned my original documents and she kept my passport. My question is, is there any possibility for my visa to get de-approved if someone else reviews my photocopy of my birth certificate and thinks that I am not eligible to apply from country B as my foreign charagbility state should be country A since I was born in that country? Or would I get my visa since it’s been already approved? Do our visa’s get stamped in the american embassy in our country or is our passport sent to america, stamped with the visa in usa and returned to our country? Lastly, when i checked the status page, my page has no change, it still shows the interview page, Shouldn’t there be changes to it since I already took the interview? or is it because I took the interview only10 hours ago so its not updated yet? Your help would be appreciated. Thank you,
May 4, 2016 at 16:52
Because both countries are in the same region it was not a problem. As for the rest of the questions. RELAX and be patient!
May 5, 2016 at 15:19
In this website (https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx) when i enter my case number 2016AS00005xxx, under the IV application category of the summary it shows completed. However, when when I enter the same case number in this website (https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw==) to check the status of my visa, it states invalid case number..What went wrong?
May 5, 2016 at 15:25
Take out the leading zeros for the second link.
May 5, 2016 at 15:42
That went well. The status is “issued”. The worried guy became a relaxed guy now =). Thank you once again.
May 5, 2016 at 15:51
LOL – I’m glad.
May 5, 2016 at 11:57
Good sir Brit!May i seek clarity on the potion of the e.mail and instructions i received today from the US consul where i will attend my interview. It reads ‘United states law requires every Diversity Visa applicant have at least the U.S high school education or qualifying experience. For country A(where i was born),successful passage(C or better) in at least (5) Ordinary Examination subjects(English,Math,Science,Social Science, and an elective) is considered the equivalent of a U.S high school diploma’
My question with regard to the above is that does it imply that if one has failed any one(1) of the subjects indicated in brackets will not be a holder of the equivalent of a U.S high school diploma because there is always the possibility of misinterpretation when dealing with written information.
Thank you sir for your instant replies to our questions on this platform.
NB;I qualify on education and not on work experience hence. If ever there are some people on this platform who have already attended their interview and had a similar question, may you please also advise.TIA
May 5, 2016 at 13:42
It would have been better to provide the name of the country/embassy – and that cannot possibly be “private”. So – what country is this?
May 5, 2016 at 13:55
Its Zimbabwe sir!Thank you
May 5, 2016 at 14:40
OK, their website says
“Please note that in order to qualify for a Diversity Visa, an applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent. In Zimbabwe, a high school diploma equivalent must include five O level passes in Math, science, social science, English and an elective. You can also qualify based on work experience. To qualify based on work experience, you must have, within the last 5 years, two years of qualifying work experience.”
So – if you don’t have all those passes you will not be approved.
May 6, 2016 at 02:57
hello Simon
please I want to know about the qualifications of high school in Sierra Leone. We are taking wassce examination, is it five subjects including passes and credit that the qualification or five credit only. am really worried because I have four credit and four passes and one fail. Some university accepted five credit as clear qualifications and others don’t. I what to about the embassy own qualifications. Thanks
May 6, 2016 at 03:23
Did you check the embassy website??
May 6, 2016 at 07:16
Oh…nooooo!!So does this mean that in the U.S if one fails any one of those subjects wont be issued with a high school diploma until they resit and pass for such a subject?I am asking because here, the university of Cambridge examination board that oversaw our exams by then issued us with the certificates and the passes reflected on the certificates would determine the subjects you would further take for Advanced level before university am sure you being from the UK would know how it works.
May 6, 2016 at 15:21
The requirements of the embassy are simply a standard they have set – which is actually MUCH lower than they should have set. You should need A levels, not O levels. So – it has nothing to do with what would happen in a US school.
May 7, 2016 at 06:58
Good day Brit! With regard to the question i asked earlier and based on the answer that you gave,is there a possibility for me to overcome this on the interview date by opting to qualify based on work experience even though i chose a high school Diploma as a basis of my qualification when i entered the DV process. Will the Consular officers accept this route? The reason why i ask is that i have work experience in one of the required jobs in the U.S i.e Judiciary Foreign Language Interpreter and translator.I do not have vocational training in this field except for on job training and experience spanning for 3 years?Furthermore,if possible, what documents should i prepare to support this option?

You don’t choose which way to qualify. You can try both ways on the interview day.
Work experience needs careful documentation prep. Proof of the job performed, and how it relates to the O*Net. Search my site for “work experience”

Hey Brit,
i hv 2 questions :
1-Do you think 80k $ are enough for single applicant so no need for i-134. interview in Riyadh (ksa).
2-upon completing the interview and giving them the passport, can someone else other than me collect the passport from the embassy or it should be in person.
Thank you so much for your usual support.

1. Enough.
2. That is up to each embassy – ask them.

The money might just be enough, but you are creating a risk of delay but not having an I-134.
3 days is very short. I doubt you will get your passport back that soon.
