2NLs are starting to be sent for March interviews.
The email itself has no useful information. It simply tells you to check the ESC site for the interview details. Some people that receive the email will find the ESC site is not ready, those people should try again after a few hours. Also, some people find the email itself goes to a trash or spam folder or somehow miss it. So – if you think you may have been scheduled but missed your email, you can check the ESC site, just in case. The 1NL (you have been selected letter) is replaced by a new letter which gives the appointment details.
*** please for our willing scrapers – let’s get scraping (as we can then identify the cases that have been scheduled, and that tells us how many interviews are being scheduled per embassy/region ***

For those that received their interview notice, now is the time to start preparing for the interview. Gathering documents, scheduling the medical and so on. To learn how to prepare please view my guide on preparing for the interview.

I lived in DUBAI for one year three month i meant now i am base in my home counrty CANEROON
February 27, 2018 at 10:42
Hi Brit, looking at the VB for march with the exceptions of those mentioned countries, it gives a grand total of 37508 and my case number case number is 2018AF35041does it mean i can be sent a notification looking at my at my CN and the total? Or Africa that stands at 17700 will systematically be increased till it reaches my CN? MY 2 Question since i lived in Dubai for one three months does but i am in my home country where i will attend my interview does it mean i will need a Police record from Dubai as part of visa requirement if yes how can i possibly have it from Cameroon please your advise thanks
February 27, 2018 at 14:41
I don’t understand your math or logic.
You don’t need a police cert for 3 months in a country.
February 27, 2018 at 04:43
When 2NL of April interview will come ?

February 25, 2018 at 15:43
This is normail
February 26, 2018 at 13:49
Normal? okay…..!!!
February 25, 2018 at 00:28
Hey Brit how are ya 🙂 got a few questions I hope it’s not too much to ask. Can’t seem to find definite answers for them
1. I checked my case number EU15xxx at ttps://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx it says it’s READY but no email yet. I assume that it will arrive in the following week or so?! Is there another way to check for the interview date?
2. Regarding the documents I’ll have to bring to the interview:
a. Do I have to have originals from highschool or university degrees?
b. Do they have to be in English?
c. The vaccination documents, I have some international vaccination pass sitting back in my home country. Do I need to get that mailed? I assume I have to show something at the medical and possibly schedule more vaccinations.
d. I have to get 3 police certificates I think and they’ll take I while to get here so how does that work with the interview date?
February 25, 2018 at 01:32
1. The 2NL will arrive in the next few days. Patience.
2. a&b. These questions are clear in the instructions. Read them.
2c. That might mean less vaccinations at the medical – so your call.
2d. Start now. If they don’t come in time your case will be delayed while you provide them.
February 25, 2018 at 03:16
Thanks for the reply and the answers. I tried to find more information on my questions 2 a&b but where does it say that the documents have to be originals? Regarding the translations I’m still just seeing your entry in the faqs. “It just says most documents should be English”. I have a bachelor degree from Germany in English which might be enough?! The high school degree is only in German and I’m not sure if it’s worth it to get that translated. ahhhhhhh am I blind????? Watched your interview prep video again and checked additionally again here https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/diversity-visa-program-entry/diversity-visa-if-you-are-selected/diversity-visa-prepare-supporting-documents.html AND here https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Diversity-Visa/DV-Instructions-Translations/DV-2018-Instructions-Translations/DV-2018%20Instructions%20English.pdf page 9
February 25, 2018 at 04:45
You didn’t read very well.
The instructions say to provide originals plus copies of key documents. Do that.
Also addressed is the topic of translations. Documents need to be in translated into English OR the official language where the embassy is located.

Badreldin pls don’t wish this kind of things to this year. it was last year’s post.
February 23, 2018 at 14:37
I dont wish I just asked
February 23, 2018 at 14:03
Can I apply the following for this month?
Brit says:
OK – I have had many people asking why the 2NLs for April interviews have not yet gone out.
Just to be clear, they aren’t actually LATE yet. The VB is typically published from the 8th the the 15th of each month, and then at least one week later (but commonly 2 weeks later) the 2NLs are sent. That means that although we have seen 2NLs being sent as early as the 19th/20th of some months, there have been other months where 2NLs have not gone out until the last days of the month.
However, KCC have additional workload this month. As well as the interviews they would normally be scheduling, they have had to do some re-scheduling for appointments that got cancelled due to Trumps Executive order a few weeks ago. So – that has increased the workload on a team that would normally have their hands full. So – that is my guess why the 2NLs have not been sent.
I was expecting the 2NLs to be sent today, but I called KCC and they told me that they expect to send them within the next week. So – I would imagine they will go out by the end of this week – but regardless, there is no need to panic. It does not mean anything sinister. So – RELAX!
February 23, 2018 at 14:26
This bit is correct:

Hi brit am a dv2018 winner 2018af22*** my number might be current next month. And My sponsor will be coming to my home town for holidays for 8weeks so he wanted to know the necessary documents he has to bring for my interview?
February 19, 2018 at 00:46
Depends on whether you are submitting an I-134 or not. With an I-134 you also have the sponsors wage slips, W2, 1040 and photo ID. If NOT using the I-134, then nothing is required.
February 19, 2018 at 01:39
Yea, am using the I-134
February 23, 2018 at 14:23
Mr Brit I have scheduled my interview for 28th of March, but I have one question did I need to have a I -134 form with all the documents when we will going on the interview or not. Thanks for everything

My number is SA 17XX I hope will be CURRENT in the next bulletin (APRIL OR MAY). Here in Venezuela we have a huge problem with passport, apostille and other esencial documentation for this process and most import: dollars for fees.
I think a lot of winners for venezuela will can’t go to the interview for before explained.
Thanks
February 18, 2018 at 16:29

I am one of the winner for DV 2018.My interview date is on march 1,2018 and I Prepare all the necessary document as per the requirement. But issues related to the following points are not cleare form:
1. Is the CO expect document from me about my sponsor at the time of interview ?.If any please state
2.what type of personal information should I expected to know about my sponsor?.
February 17, 2018 at 21:20
1. Varies by embassy. https://britsimonsays.com/all-about-public-charge-affidavit-of-support-i-134/
2. The sponsor should be a relative or friend. If that is the case – you don’t need to ask this question.
February 17, 2018 at 09:53

February 16, 2018 at 16:19
Ok so they can get married before filling out the form
2.what if you win DV and lost your conformation number what do you get it
February 16, 2018 at 17:55
1. They cannot fill out the form while unmarried.
2. Use the lost confirmation number link on the ESC site.
February 15, 2018 at 15:36
Hi Britm.
Is it mandatory to confirm the date of interview? I did n’t yet received the email asking or informing the link to use.
I have the 2nl and my interview is scheduled on March 14, 2018.
February 15, 2018 at 17:24
You simply follow instructions from the embassy.
February 15, 2018 at 06:11
Dear Brit,
My interview is scheduled for March 1 and I have realized some errors in my DS 260.
1. The question that said have you lived anywhere other than this address (Congo) since the age of sixteen? I answered no instead of Yes ( Nairobi). But the truth is I have studied in Nairobi for only 1 year and this was also mentioned in Ds260.
2. Another error is have you ever been refused a U.S. visa, been refused admission to United States…. I answered no instead of Yes.
3. The last one is In which occupation do you intend to work in the U.S.? I have mentioned study but I want to work first.
4. Now I wanna know if those errors can be changed the same day of my interview before the consular officer.
Please tell me if there is a negative impact if I say the opposite of what I have wrote in my DS 260.
Thanks in advance
February 15, 2018 at 14:50
Both 1 and 2 are serious errors. You lied, and they don’t like liars. Get a police cert for Kenya. I don’t know what the outcome will be for the interview.
February 15, 2018 at 15:02
But I am a French native speaker I didn’t understand those questions well. It means I will not have a visa?
February 15, 2018 at 17:30
Lying creates risk. Your excuse is silly. I don’t know the outcome.
February 13, 2018 at 11:16
i’m a dv 2018 winner ,it has been two monthes since i made the interview , the officer didn’t take my passport he kept it with me and i’m waiting for adminstrative processing , does that mean my chances for a visa is low! ,and is there any thing that i can do ,like to write an email for the kcc to ask about my case to find out what they are up to. i don’t know 🙁
February 13, 2018 at 15:21
KCC are not involved in your case. All you can do is wait for the decision.
February 8, 2018 at 21:45
Dear Brit,
I am a green card holder and I came to the US two months ago. Right now, I am working an I am earning more than 20k dollars.
I got married just before I come and I would like to bring her to the US.
1- Do I have the right to sponsor my wife? Since I am working and I meet 125% of Federal poverty line.
2- If yes, is that true that I need to provide in Affidavit of Support a tax transcripts for at least two years? Or I do not need it at all?
February 9, 2018 at 00:10
I only advise on DV lottery cases.
February 9, 2018 at 14:30
Oh sorry, I did not know about that. I would like to thank you for all your help and informations you gave us about DV lottey. Cheers

Just read on BBC about another senate budget extended for the next two years, does it mean that nothing is changed every law and thing remain the same for the next two years? Since the congress didn’t come to an agreement.
February 7, 2018 at 12:32
Hi Brit
My name is spell on all my docs( birth certificate, passport, west African examination council certificate, edv form, ds260 form, etc) with Jr
Except my high school diploma due to typographical error and I don’t have time to carry for rectification, does it pose any risk of denial during my interview?

February 6, 2018 at 19:03

February 6, 2018 at 13:53
Hi Simon,
I’ve recieved 2NL for the interview March 7th,I was out of the country and now when I’m back,I’m trying to get all the docs in order. But I can’t get confirmation from of absence of previous conviction earlier then mid April..What should I do?Should I contact the embassy?
There is a small chance to get it earlier but its practicallt impossible
February 6, 2018 at 14:28
Attend the interview anyway, and follow up with the missing document as soon as you receive it.
February 8, 2018 at 00:58
Thanks a lot Simon! Can you also advise the police records are only needed if i was arrested? If i have never been arrested is it still required?
February 8, 2018 at 04:33
The instructions are much clearer if you read them.
February 5, 2018 at 10:52
Hey Brit,
I just want to thank you because your website just made everything absolutely clear to me. You answered all the questions that I had. I’m relieved now I know that I just have to be patient and wait. Your website is amazing.
Great job!!!
February 5, 2018 at 10:39
Hi Brit: Hope you are doing great. I was looking at SA and i see for March 2nls already sent out. And its around maybe 50-60 letters excluding derivatives. My question is the bulletin figure is 625-800 that is 175 applicants so why only that amount of letters sent out…what happens with all the other case numbers between that range… are those consider no responsive….? Its a question always puzzling me….
February 5, 2018 at 15:32
Some of the 175 cases have not responded, and they might later, or maybe never will. Some will be holes.
February 5, 2018 at 08:21
Hello Brit, i am dv winner with 2018AF22*** in my ds260 i included my junior & high school details, but the problem is i have my high school documents only. Do i need to provide all?
February 5, 2018 at 15:35
No – only High school.
February 5, 2018 at 17:04
Thanks Brit
