People have started receiving their 2NLs for November 2017 interviews. This will take a few hours – and possibly even a couple of days before all have gone out.
The email itself has no useful information. It simply tells you to check the ESC site for the interview details. Some people that receive the email will find the ESC site is not ready, those people should try again after a few hours. Also, some people find the email itself goes to a trash or spam folder or somehow miss it. So – if you think you may have been scheduled but missed your email, you can check the ESC site, just in case. The 1NL (you have been selected letter) is replaced by a new letter which gives the appointment details.
For those that received their interview notice, now is the time to start preparing for the interview. Gathering documents, scheduling the medical and so on. To learn how to prepare please view my guide on preparing for the interview.

Hi Britsimon,
The excel sheet under biometric says, “…however, you may try to walking-in – i.e. going in before your scheduled appointment.” Does it matter how early? How early would you advise to walk-in before scheduled date?
Thank you,
B

I suggest AOS questions are asked on the AOS thread where the spreadsheet is hosted.

October 10, 2017 at 19:22

October 6, 2017 at 13:24
Hello BritSimon, is there upcoming visa bulletin Oct 9-15
October 6, 2017 at 13:50
Just like every month, yes…
October 3, 2017 at 20:21
Hi Brit can u comment on the AF numbers who received their 2nls out of the 8600 for November? Am asking this because i think it turned out that out of the 8500 for October not everyone received the 2nl hence the slight increase of just a 100 for the month of November interviews to allow the remaining numbers and the added numbers to be scheduled for interviews.
October 3, 2017 at 22:18
Some people under 8600 who submitted their DS260s late will be interviewed later, once their form is processed. It’s that simple.

Hello Brit,
I got 2NL. Thank you very much for all your help.
One thing I would like to ask is that
I have hypothyroidism and my spouse has stomach ulcer. Should we tell or not?
Or will we get rejected if we tell this?
September 29, 2017 at 15:53
Those will not cause disqualification. Dishonesty will.
September 29, 2017 at 14:24

September 29, 2017 at 15:56

2. Yes
September 27, 2017 at 18:32
Hi Brit,
I request your advice for two queries below:
1. My interview schedule is early Nov. I filled single in DS260 and getting married in last week of Oct. Is it possible to include my spouse for Visa?
2. If yes, do I need to update DS260 with my spouse details? Or shall I bring my spouse with relevant documents direct in interview?

September 27, 2017 at 11:48
Hi Brit! I would like to know wether the COs focus on marks and/or general average when checking the High School Diploma and Transcripts. I am worring a lil’ bit cause I had 05/20 in Maths but I had 12.99/20 as general average.
I read Ghana people dicussing about marks in the High School Transcripts.
Please explain your experience about that topic.
September 27, 2017 at 12:21
Yes they consider the grades. I don’t know specifics for Ghana, but you can read this recent comment, which may or may not be accurate.

September 25, 2017 at 17:44
hi brit.I was dating this guy for 3 years i won dv lottery we got married we took the cards. He countinued on being abusive to me and jealous so i decided to divorce him .My question is will i be affected by this will my status be affected or his?
September 25, 2017 at 16:44
Maybe someone can chime in on my situation. My wife was selected for DV2018. Given her case number we may expect to have an interview in December or January. In the same time I am close to receiving H1B visa, and my employeer has an option to relocate us in November. Will it be possible / feasible to transfer an interview from my home country to US after I receive 2NL or is it safer to wait till the end of the year, do the interview in my home country and relocate after that. Thank you for any advice.
September 25, 2017 at 17:10
The simplest approach would be to perform the interview in your home country. But you could switch to an AoS process in the USA.
The spreadsheet on the first post of the thread linked below has good info to compare the two methods and understand the process.

HI Guys
anyone who did his/her interview recently from Nairobi embassy,do they want verification letter from KNEC offices?
September 25, 2017 at 09:24
Dear BritSimon,
I have some more critical questions:
My friend as one of the applicants for the 2016 lottery year has came across a very confusing respond when he was checking out his selection status on May 2017!
He found out that his case was undergoing still for further processing and he’ll get respond later that but no touchable improvements reached so far, so he was nether selected nor rejected for the year of 2018!
1. Please may you give out your view point on this complicated matter ?
2.What tips would you like to give him ?
3. Can he apply for the 2019 lottery on October 2017?
September 25, 2017 at 13:41
I don’t understand what you are explaining.
