People are now receiving their 2NLs for November interviews!! It will take a few hours – and possibly even a couple of days before all have gone out.
The email itself has no useful information. It simply tells you to check the ESC site for the interview details. Some people that receive the email will find the ESC site is not ready, those people should try again after a few hours. Also, some people find the email itself goes to a trash or spam folder or somehow miss it. So – if you think you may have been scheduled but missed your email, you can check the ESC site, just in case. The 1NL (you have been selected letter) is replaced by a new letter which gives the appointment details.
For those that received their interview notice, now is the time to start preparing for the interview. Gathering documents, scheduling the medical and so on. To learn how to prepare please view my guide on preparing for the interview.
If you have received your 2NL – please take a moment to reply to this post and add your region/case number range PLUS the date of submission and whether you unlocked at any point. This helps me gauge the backlog and DS260 processing times. Last month it was clear that cases submitted later than mid May had a chance not to be scheduled because of backlog on DS260 processing. We will see how far that backlog has been handled.
*** Update 9/21/2016 ***
Based on feedback received it looks like the majority of cases that are being scheduled have submission dates up to late May. Because not all cases take the same time to process, some current cases submitted in early June might have been scheduled and some current cases submitted in mid to late May might NOT be scheduled. That is all “normal” and in line with what I expected. Nothing to panic about. If you were expecting an interview scheduled but now find you missed the November interviews, that is fine – it simply means you will be interviewed later. That is not a problem, the Green Cards are the same Green Cards, so please – R E L A X!

Hi Simon
Lets ask you two questions.
1. when I applied for Dv I filled my office postal Address at postal Zone/ Zip code. but when I filled ds-260, I didn’t fill it. do you think it will have a problem?
2. Currently I am married and Pregnant, do you think they disqualify me from getting Visa?
Thanks
November 17, 2016 at 15:01
1. No
2. No
November 18, 2016 at 07:12
Thanks Simon for your quick reply
I need a clarification on Q2. I got married after I summit DS-260 and I was single when I summit ds 260, that is why I am asking you they might disqualify me from getting visa since I am pregnant.
November 18, 2016 at 14:28
So your question has nothing to do with being pregnant then. It is about being married now. Hopefully you have unlocked and added your husband to your DS260 form and created a DS260 for him. If you have done that you should be OK. Being pregnant is not a complication.

November 8, 2016 at 09:51
Hi Simon,
So my visa was granted today, however in the paperwork that was returned to me from the consulate, I have located the photocopy of my birth certificate and change of name certificate that has “originals sighted” on it. Obviously the consulate were supposed to take this and must have accidentally given it back to me.
Contacting the consulate isn’t easy obviously, but should I try and contact them to let them know I have these documents, or should I wait to see if they contact me?
Thanks,
Nicole.
November 8, 2016 at 14:41
Contact them – just in case they need it.

Hi Brit! I am a winner of dv 2017 and I just completed d DS260 form online, plus I don’t know what to do next, could u please help? How do I get my documents to KCC? My case number is xxx40xxx, do II stand a chance to receive a 2NL?

Now you wait until you are notified, which will be months from now. That gives you time to read my site and learn what to do. You do not send documents to KCC.

Hi Brit
From Nepal. Would like to know when CN 250# will be made available in the visa bulletin. Looking at last year’s record, if the increment of case numbers goes like that for Nepal, then 2500-2600 will be available in the January bulletin. Is it predictable?
I sincerely request you to help me with this information.
October 18, 2016 at 19:17
I’m not going to predict that – your guess is as good as mine.
October 17, 2016 at 03:21
Hello Brit
I am one of the winner of DV 2017. unfortunately I filled DS260 at 17-Oct-2016 my case number is 2017AF00024XXX.
Is late submission is going to affect my application ?
Also i’m living now outside my home country from more than year ,am i still need a police certificate from my home country or just from the country which i live in it only.
And when do you think i will receive my interview date based on my late submission
Thanks for you help.
October 17, 2016 at 19:16
The late submission will cause some months of waiting.
You should read the instructions about police certificates.

October 14, 2016 at 23:13
Hi Brit, I am called Stephen with CN AF 14xx.
Please I have won the DV2017 lottery and I submitted my DS260 application on 7th June and I have not received any second email(2NLs) yet.
Please based on my case number and the time I submitted the forms, when am I like to receive an email (2NLs) from KCC based on your experiences?
October 15, 2016 at 04:27
Wait and see if you get in in the next few days, if not, then it could be in about 5 or 6 weeks from now for January interview.
October 25, 2016 at 06:58
Hi Simon,
My case no is 2017AF00041706. After I filled out my DS260, I haven’t received any email. What is 1NL and 2NL?
October 25, 2016 at 13:43
1NL was the “selection” letter.
2NL is the interview appointment. Your case number means you won’t get a 2NL until next year – months from now.
October 14, 2016 at 19:31
