People are now receiving their 2NLs for August interviews, it will take a few hours – and possibly even a couple of days before all have gone out.
The email itself has no useful information. It simply tells you to check the ESC site for the interview details. Some people that receive the email will find the ESC site is not ready, those people should try again after a few hours. Also, some people find the email itself goes to a trash or spam folder or somehow miss it. So – if you think you may have been scheduled but missed your email, you can check the ESC site, just in case. The 1NL (you have been selected letter) is replaced by a new letter which gives the appointment details.
All remaining 2016 cases are eligible for interview now, so there should be a lot of 2NLs going out. I’m expecting that some of the busiest embassies will not have allowed KCC to schedule all the interviews in August and will push some cases to September – so that might mean some people don’t get their 2NL. Write a comment here if that happens mentioning the embassy and when you submitted. Some late submissions will have been unable to be processed in time for these interviews and will hopefully be in September.

Hi dear Birt
I dont have enough word to aknowledge you for your help.
I was interviewed in June 2,2016 and after the interview the CO said congra to me.3 friends of me also interviewd at the same time (june 2 ) After that their status becomes Issued in June 9, mine also becomes Issued in June 15(after worried for 1 week ) then My friends recieve an E mail massage and took their Visa and relevant documents from DHL in June 16.But mine still there is no E mail reached to me.I have called to the embassy and told me that waiting 10 working days is normal ,including today,8 working days were passed but still there is nothing new.my question is
1 what is the reason of delayance from those interviewed at the same time? (I am over qualified )
2 What is your advice to me to do ? Thanks In advance .God bless you.
June 28, 2016 at 13:45
1. I don’t know.
2. Be patient.
June 28, 2016 at 14:14
Thanks dear Birt
June 28, 2016 at 14:45
Hi dear Brit.first for great tnxs for U b/c I have received my visa .I have some questions about sponsors.1st question is my sponsor change your address after I received my visa so now what are you doing? 2nd question is changing another sponsor is possible? If possible when and where can I change a new address?
June 28, 2016 at 15:41
No big deal now. If you plan to live at a different address, you can change that at the POE airport. THat’s all you need to do.
June 28, 2016 at 16:54
Dear Simon,
I have a situation here, the person whose name I wrote in DS-260 dont have a green card. I have already submitted my DS-260.
Now if I find another sponser to sponser me will that be OK?
Will it cause any problem in my interview?
June 28, 2016 at 18:17
You can change sponsor if needed.
June 28, 2016 at 18:50
hi Mr Simon My interview is the 11 of august can I do my medical now?
June 28, 2016 at 23:06
Yes
June 28, 2016 at 23:12
hello sir Simon, I am an Algerian and I won. has the lottry. this year I am a senior technician computer malorusement I have no experience in the field, what should I do
June 28, 2016 at 23:35
How can you be a “senior” technician when you have no experience?
June 29, 2016 at 00:24
hi brit, first of all thanks for your help.
I would like to have some clarification when it comes to the affidavit.
Is it acceptable to carry two affidavit of support from two different persons at your interview to
make it stronger.
June 29, 2016 at 00:29
1 + 1 does not add up to 2 in this case – so no.
June 29, 2016 at 00:36
what about two different persons from different states joining to write one on behalf of a family
of four? is that possible?
June 29, 2016 at 00:41
No.
And if you come up with ANY OTHER COMBINATION my answer will still be no. One I-134 will either be enough, or it won’t be. You can apply the formula yourself. Please read the link below
https://britsimonsays.com/all-about-public-charge-affidavit-of-support-i-134/
June 29, 2016 at 01:03
ok thanks Brit, I understand.
so pls tell me how much must a person have I their account to write one
I-134 for a family of four. pls I need a figure, kinda confuse
June 29, 2016 at 02:11
READ the link I already gave you!!
June 29, 2016 at 08:36
hello simon,
i am dv winner of 2016 and i got my visa recently,
i have a question to ask you ,
i got visa and i am married, we wanted to go together to usa for due to some work i need to stay at my country for personal work, so my i want my wife to go usa first and i will go 1 month later. it is possible to go separately since i am the applicant, and my wife is benefecaries. it is possible to go separately or we need to go together, even though we are going separately but we are staying together in same adderss that we put the sponser;s name.
please help me what to do , i’m confused.
June 29, 2016 at 14:26
You as the principal must go first or with her for the first entry into the USA.
June 29, 2016 at 08:53
Hello simon. Thanks to you, i got my visa. Today i had interview and i got approved. I wish you all the best in your life. You helped me so much during that tough time
June 29, 2016 at 09:26
case size means number of people on your application, that is if u have a family and they are derivatives on your application
June 29, 2016 at 09:50
Hi Brit, thanks for the clearification.
but I have one more concern, here is it: My aunt is a RN (Nurse) and have worked in the hospital for more than ten years. She has BSC in Nursing and her license and other educational related documents all originals copies. Accept for the WAEC certificate original, she graduated from high school 1985 at which time the chip process had not yet been introduced. but she has only the photocopy bcos the original got missing during the course of the civil war in Liberia. But she got a letter of attestation from WAEC proving that she completed high school so shes planning on taking it along with the photocopy of the certificate to her interview.
WILL THIS BE ANY PROBLEM!!!
June 29, 2016 at 14:24
I can’t be certain whether a CO will have a problem. She should prepare as best as she can.
June 29, 2016 at 11:15
Hi Simon,
I want to know if the Embassy will have any record on you if you was part of DV 2013 program and you never wanted to got current for interview?
June 29, 2016 at 14:19
Yes they will.
June 29, 2016 at 16:24
Hello all, Any srilankans for August interviews ?
June 29, 2016 at 17:02
Hi Brit,
Up to now we have not been called, since we were placed on administrative processing.
That happened on May 10 2016,
What is going on with the administrative processing?
June 29, 2016 at 17:46
I don’t know why your particular case was placed on AP – so I can’t explain .
If your AP was for additional background checks there can be an extended delay while those background checks are completed. The embassy are not in control of those checks, and the checks, once requested, are mandatory. So – you can’t get much info from the embassy because they don’t know much themselves. You just have to be VERY patient.
June 29, 2016 at 17:30
Hi Simon, can AP derived from further medical test take long to be approved once the results are confirmed negative?
Thanks
June 29, 2016 at 17:44
Any AP that crosses over a month end will take longer (because there has to be a re-allocation of a visa slot from KCC). So – if the AP has crossed a month end, don’t expect an immediate ISSUED status.
June 29, 2016 at 22:44
We don’t know the reason why we were placed on administrative processing,
In Africa, the embassy don’t give you any reason for your administrative.
If you ask why still you don’t get answers from them.
We don’t know what is the cost for this behaviour.
June 29, 2016 at 22:55
Hello Dear Brit,
I just wish to know if the copy of the passport my sponsor sends to me is just the information page without the part showing his signature, is it enough. Thanks and have a good evening.
June 29, 2016 at 23:55
Get the whole page.
June 30, 2016 at 08:49
Hello Mr. Simons,
I am an Afghan DV lottery winner for year 2017. I have searched your blog a lot to find out experience of an Afghan DV lottery winner, but could not find any one. I really wonder if you have been ever asked by an AFGHAN for DV lottery information? If not than I would be the first ever to help any Afghans who have been selected for DV lottery, but first let me be the one to hopefully complete all the procedure smoothly 🙁
June 30, 2016 at 14:17
Yes I have helped Afghans….
June 30, 2016 at 16:08
Dear sir,
Thanks for your reply, can you please email me the possible contact of any afghan so I can contact them trough email and ask for their personal experience and know about the necessary documents required in US embassy of Kabul.
June 30, 2016 at 17:44
Try these two…

June 30, 2016 at 14:10
Your case is on AP – probably for additional background checks. The timeline cannot be guessed with certainty, you can only wait.
June 30, 2016 at 20:10
dear sir

June 30, 2016 at 20:21
Hi brist, should i notify the embassy that my sponsor have been change due to the failure of my first sponsor who was to send my affidavit? His name was place on my DS260 when i first send it to KCC, but he fail to send me the affidavit. Another person is willing to send me the affidavit. What is the will farward brist?
June 30, 2016 at 20:27
A financial sponsor (who fills in an I-134) and the host (whose address is where you will live) don’t have to be the same person. So – you can plan to live with person A (their address being on the DS260) and present an I-134 from person B. So – no need to unlock or notify the embassy. Simply present the I-134 in the interview, if asked.
June 30, 2016 at 21:00
Good day Sir,
I do have question regardin police clearnce, i’m living outside my country and i have to get both clearance from my country where i have born and the country where i do work for more than 2 years now, so i went to our embassy to get the certificate but i noticed its in arabic, i asked for English version and they say yhey don’t have, and i must go for translation.
My question is if i translate it, will USA embassy will accept it or it must be in English language from.the begining?
June 30, 2016 at 22:55
It can be translated (by someone not your family member who is competent to translate the document).
July 1, 2016 at 04:26
Hello Sir,
1- I have question about why AP takes months for some one and days for someone else?
2- My understanding everything is on the US system and background check or whatever AP is can be easily retrieved from the computers. If the procedure is to ask information from countries, so what if about IRAN that has no relation with US and will never reply to question?
Thank you very much
July 1, 2016 at 14:14
1. Different types of AP
2. That is why AP for Iranians takes longer.
July 1, 2016 at 20:49
Thank you. Just wondering how the US embassies can ask information from the country like IRAN where there have no correspondence to react. Do you mean they send question to Iranian authorities in IRAN and wait for answer? Probable there is other ways to acquire information for Iranians that I don’t know.
July 1, 2016 at 21:36
They have various methods of data gathering – and they are aware that the foreign government won’t help. The US government does not publish details about their data gathering capabilities.
July 1, 2016 at 05:17
Dear Simon
Thank you for your efforts .Me and my family arrived USA five days ago my question when we will received our Social Security card , because we live in a hotel and it is very expensive and we can’t rent an apartment without Social Security
July 1, 2016 at 14:12
Typically within 2 to 3 weeks. You can go to the SSA office to check on it.
July 1, 2016 at 11:57

July 1, 2016 at 13:44
Hi Simon,
We have gone for the medicals and all went well for the PA but one of the derivative was told to go for further tests which will take 8 weeks. This means that we all go for the interview as scheduled then the derivative will be put on AP while awaiting the medical results? The interview will be in August.
Regards.
July 1, 2016 at 14:03
Yes that’s correct.
July 1, 2016 at 14:13
Hello Simon,
Can put a big amount of money, get a bank statement and then get the money off before the interview ? or will they verify?
July 1, 2016 at 14:15
That’s a silly risk.
July 1, 2016 at 15:10
How old should be the bank statement ?
July 1, 2016 at 19:21
Some embassies ask for a series over several months of recent bank statements.
July 1, 2016 at 16:47
Hi Mr. Brit
I would like to know for prove of employment or work experience besides the letter of employment, which other documents can I prepare?
July 1, 2016 at 19:17
Every case is different. You need to think how to prove that you have been performing a job that meets the requirements.
July 2, 2016 at 05:58
Thanks
July 1, 2016 at 20:19
Hello Dear brit
It seems most iranian cases who interviewd after january 2016 and are in AP, have not cleared yet. Maby less than 10 cases are cleared and I guess more than 150 cases who interviewd from january to april in ANK,ABD,YRV embassies are in AP and it has taken more than 6 month for most cases who interviewd in january. what do you think is it normal that AP process has taken so much for iranian cases this year? is it normal?
Best regards
July 1, 2016 at 21:37
It’s about the same as last year, perhaps a little slower. Given what is going on in the world that should not be a surprise.
July 2, 2016 at 06:57

2. Yes, but if the embassy knows they could reject the I-134.
July 3, 2016 at 08:50

July 3, 2016 at 16:44
Hi brit thanks how are u doing boss , wish a blessing days ahead in your life , my question relates to DHL registration , i have been trying to register for the DHL , but i m having a problem where by when i fill the form with case number , its saying your case number is not ready for an interview, wherre as when i check from the CEAC , it says your case number is ready for an interview ….
July 3, 2016 at 18:15
DHL system is NOT what controls your interview. You only need to register with them, so choose whatever option you need to get the account setup with your DV case number.
July 3, 2016 at 17:14
Hello brit,

July 4, 2016 at 09:18
Dear BritSimon,
I am writing to make some inquiry regarding Form I-134 specifically item number 7. My sponsor is salaried employee. Now my question is that, other than stating the annual income amount derived, are the proceeding statements compulsory to be filled? i.e
a). I have on deposit in savings banks in the United States……..$$
b). I have other personal property, the reasonable value of which is:……..$$
c). I have stocks and bonds with the following market value, as indicated in the attached list, which I certify to be true and correct to the best of my knowledge and belief…….$$
d). I have a life insurance in the sum of………….$$
Then, am sorry I remember I had asked you this question sometimes back but I can’t track or recall what the response was: Here is the question, what other supportive documents to be provided by my sponsor, that should accompany Form I-134?
Thank you very much and looking forward to hearing back from you.
Regards,
July 4, 2016 at 14:56
It is not necessary to complete all that additional information. Just the income should be enough – and that is supported by 1040/W2, recent Payslips and of course the photo ID.
July 4, 2016 at 10:30
Hi Brits i made a mistake in my year of birth when i was filling the original DV entry but i e-mailed kcc and corrected it in my DS-260 form now my sponsor has filled the i-134 form but in the age section he put 31 years that the wrong year of birth as am 28 which is the correct year of birth . Please advice .
July 4, 2016 at 14:44
I don’t think the age should matter, but if you have time to get a replacement, do so.
July 4, 2016 at 20:43
hello mr brits .. I have NEWS from USCIS DIRECTLY.
ALSO DO NOT TRUST THAT THEY WILL ORDER YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY CARD. PEOPLE ARE ASKING FOR IT AND ITS NOT ARRIVING> GO DIRECTLY TO THE SOCIAL SECURITY OFFICE IN YOUR AREA WITH YOUR STAMP IN YOUR PASSPORT AND ORDER YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY CARD DIRECTLY. YOU WILL HAVE TO FILL OUT ANOTHER FORM…. Lottery winners are NOT getting their social security cards EITHER.. You might have a 4 week delay in trying to even get a state ID if you count on your SOCIAL SECURITY CARD being ordered. I recently witnessed someone waiting 3 weeks for it.. it never came and then we went down to the social security card office and they had NO RECORD OF IT EVER.. Go the first day you arrive to that office and REORDER it.. It takes nothing but then they can check the system.. Just had them your visa and they will issue it for you asap and then you can apply for a STATE ID.. You will need that to work because greencards are NOT arriving because of the delay
I had to go down there with a friend to check on missing greencards and this is what I was told BY THE IMMIGRATION OFFICER
Recently they changed greencard printing systems and ALL greencards have to be PUT INTO THAT OTHER SYSTEM and some who arrived in MAY arent even DATA entried…
Expect DELAYS on greencards if you have JUST arrived to the USA with the lottery..
They are switching ENTIRE data systems and many greencards if not issued are SERIOUSLY delayed..
This information was current as of last monday..
This directly affects LOTTERY winners. The immigration officer showed me the new sets of numbers.. and even the RECEIPT number has an IOE.. This is going to affect EVERY newly landed person.. Also EVEN if you paid ahead like had a friend do it for you.. it will NOT speed ANYTHING up..
I spoke face to face with USCIS and this is what he told me
The whole hold up is the system data entry.. This could mean you could arrive and NOT have your greencard for up to 6 months a friend of mine have told me this . is it true
July 5, 2016 at 02:30
GC’s are taking about 60 to 90 days. Some have been getting them in 1 month.

July 5, 2016 at 14:04
As long as the income meets the requirement.
July 5, 2016 at 14:00
Hello Simon,
You told me that it’ ok if the sponsor and the resident in the DS260 aren’t the same, Is it still ok if one of them in from CA and the other one NY.
July 5, 2016 at 14:58
Good day Sir,
I view of the delay in printing the Green Cards, can I wait and pay for my GC after entry in the USA or I should pay before leaving for the States ?
Regards,
