People have started receiving their 2NLs for December 2017 interviews. This will take a few hours – and possibly even a couple of days before all have gone out.
The email itself has no useful information. It simply tells you to check the ESC site for the interview details. Some people that receive the email will find the ESC site is not ready, those people should try again after a few hours. Also, some people find the email itself goes to a trash or spam folder or somehow miss it. So – if you think you may have been scheduled but missed your email, you can check the ESC site, just in case. The 1NL (you have been selected letter) is replaced by a new letter which gives the appointment details.
For those that received their interview notice, now is the time to start preparing for the interview. Gathering documents, scheduling the medical and so on. To learn how to prepare please view my guide on preparing for the interview.

Hi BritSimon,
How are you? Thank you for all your prayers and supports to all the selectees!
I have received an email from KCC and Subject: “2018ASXXXX Diversity Visa Adjustment Letter”. It regards the DV fee paid receipt PDF file.
1. Is it the 2NL?
2. Do I pay the $330 now?
Please confirm.
Thank you,
Bianca
November 21, 2017 at 02:57
Hi BritSimon,
Sorry forgot to provide more information. You mentioned KCC would also update ESC site. I checked it still shows 1NL.
Thank you,
Bianca
November 21, 2017 at 03:34
AOS cases don’t get a 2NL on the ESC site.

No I didn’t miss the question – my answer was to give you a link. Read the link (especially the spreadsheet linked from the first post on that thread), and then your questions will be answered.

Thank you. Got it and will check the link!!
I greatly appreciate that you make time to answer to all our questions and provide all the important information and materials.

Brit,
I filed an 130 app for my husband last year. I remember filling out similar information like the i134.
Now he has been selected for the DV 2018, I’m filling out the i134 form and am trying to figure out whether I check Yes or No for the section about whether I have ever sponsored someone…I’ve never sponsored anyone and my husband is the only person I’ve filed an i130 petition for or i134.
Does this i130 indicate sponsorship?
Do I check yes if it’s the same person I’ve tried 2 different routes (Dv & i130) to sponsor?
Thanks for your response.
November 13, 2017 at 16:29
I don’t know about the I-130. Ask your lawyer.
November 13, 2017 at 15:32

Hello Simon, I have an interview scheduled in Paris late November but I want to change the date. The only way to contact the embassy is through a contact form on their website and I have not heard back from them. If I am able to change my appointment date to 2018 is there a chance I might miss out on my visa?
Also I have my university degree diploma to take to the interview, is that enough (I have a PhD) or do I need proof that I finished high school?
Thank you
November 12, 2017 at 01:14
It’s a foolish idea to change the date – risky. Your choice. Take all school proof.
November 11, 2017 at 00:13
Mr Simon, is the current rate of processing DS260 normal? judging by the case numbers receiving 2NL for December it looks slower than expected..don’t you agree?
November 11, 2017 at 01:10
Please always check the article I already created.

November 4, 2017 at 05:54
Hello Brits; dv lottery 7% for each country! Tho how many for Ethiopia in number dv 2018
November 4, 2017 at 14:08
Not 7% for EVERY country, no. That is a maximum number – Ethiopia won’t take that many. Maybe around 2500 to 3000.
November 3, 2017 at 22:50

Hi Simon I’m from Nepal I passed my interview now I want to know what are the document I need to take with me ??? N what is the procedure to apply for security card ?
October 31, 2017 at 13:29
The embassy will give you a sealed envelope with your passport. That is all you need.
The SSN will be requested for you *IF* you selected that option in your DS260. If not – go to the SSA office when you get to the USA.
October 27, 2017 at 14:49

October 19, 2017 at 22:29
Sir, I am a 2017 dv lottery. my visa was issued since february, though I have not got my passport yet. I contacted the consulate, they told me as usual that it’s still under review. Why such delay? What should I do, please? I am psychologically tired.
October 19, 2017 at 23:45
If you were on AP all this time you won’t get the visa. DV2017 has finished. If they actually ISSUED the visa in February, it would have expired by now – so again, that would be useless to you. The only way to handle this is talking to the embassy.
October 19, 2017 at 18:38
Relieved! Thank you!
October 19, 2017 at 17:51
I’m a bit worried reading some posts here, is it really usual in case you ask to have your interview in country (x) where you live and KCC schedules it in country (Y) of your birth?
October 19, 2017 at 18:01
No. It is normally based on present resident address, but political situations make that difficult for some countries (like Yemen and so on).
October 19, 2017 at 16:27
hello,
guick question!
i am EU (romania)selectee with the ref no.26xxx and i have asked kcc in sep 2017 the status of my application and the expected month for the interview. i did the 260 in the first half of may.
they have replied to me withe the anseer to alow them several weeks to proocess my application and gave my the november visa bulletin numbers.
Q: their message is standard or i should read between the lines and expect the appointmen in nov?
thank you!
October 19, 2017 at 18:44
The message is standard. You won’t be interviewed for several more months.
October 19, 2017 at 12:45
Yes yes, we’ll said! I have seen and heard too much about AP in Iran most ppl going to USA faced with AP! Did not know what they were talking about till I read your text! Thank you for feedback
October 19, 2017 at 11:21
hello Simon, please i have a worry. i just finished my degree program 2months ago and so the certificates are not ready already and i have been scheduled for an interview in mid November. can i use an attestation of completion of studies to proove that i have fulfill all the requirements for graduation in place of the certicate?
thanks …
October 19, 2017 at 12:24
Maybe. But they will be looking for proof of High School completion, so they may not even need the degree.
October 19, 2017 at 17:14
okay i get you thanks. and i have the A/L Certificate at hand, so im safe. just that i added a degree to my educational qualifications so thought they would need all documents to proove it but if thats the case then im good to go. thanks so much Simon.
October 30, 2017 at 16:49
Since DV only requires up to High School completion, do I need to fill out all the BA and MS degree information (including colleges/universities information) on DS-260?
October 30, 2017 at 19:39
Yes – answer the questions on the form fully and accurately.
October 31, 2017 at 01:59
Great, thank you!
Blessings!
October 19, 2017 at 08:09
Please how do I recheck my expaird data 2017
October 19, 2017 at 12:37
Check what?
October 19, 2017 at 04:37
Hi BritSimon,
I had my DS260 unlocked and changed from AOS to CP (which was acknowledged by KCC through email on October 5). My case number is current for December. While 2NLs for people with similar case numbers have been given, I was wondering if you had an idea on how long it might take before I get mine.
Thanks!
October 19, 2017 at 04:59
No.
October 19, 2017 at 00:03
Dear BritSimon,
Thank you for all your support and information during all this process… I wonder when the Adjustment of Status would start to receive interview notifications. Do you have any idea?
Kindest regards.
October 19, 2017 at 00:06
That is up to the FO to arrange. So – it varies greatly based on when you file do the biometrics and so on.
October 19, 2017 at 02:39
Thank you very much Brit for your prompt response, and excuse my ignorance, but what is the FO ? Btw, Biometrics done.
P.S: sorry to bother you again. I understand how busy you are.
October 19, 2017 at 02:58
Field office.
October 18, 2017 at 22:04
HI Brit,
Thanks for your wonderful updates. I really appreciate your tireless efforts on DV applicants. My sister just got the 2NL for December 2017 interviews. She didn’t print out or saved 1NL which she must take with her to the embassy during the interview. How can she retrieve the 1NL? Does she need to contact the KCC and ask this? Thanks Sir.
October 18, 2017 at 23:43
She can print the 2NL instead.
October 19, 2017 at 13:45
Thanks Sir

Question for AC and Mr Simon
My surname is ‘ Igwacho’ , first name is ‘Anye’ middle name is ‘Den Warren’ on my birth certificate the order of my name is ‘Igwacho Anye Den warren’ but on my ID card and on almost everybody’s in my country( Cameroon, Bilingual (English and French) , there is this systematic “error; in which on peoples Id card youll find
Nom(Name); Igwacho
Prenom(Surname/familyname); Anye Den Warren instead of ther oreder way wrong, so should I disregard the ‘misorder’ of the name on my ID card or should I use it as it is thanks fo
October 18, 2017 at 23:40
I don’t know what is “normal” in your country. You need to decide. Your passport should have the correct name.
October 19, 2017 at 07:28
As a cameroonian i will tell you to disregard it. Best of luck.
October 19, 2017 at 22:51
As a Cameroonian just make sure you follow the order you have on your documents and certificates
October 18, 2017 at 21:21

October 18, 2017 at 20:37
Hey Simon, just received my 2NL. Interview is set at my country of birth Cameroon, eventhough i spent the last 8 years in Europe. I read the FAQ and you mentioned the latency risk of transferring from the 2 embassies.
1. According to you what is the maximum delay it can cause to being scheduled to embassy of current address, which is Brussels by the way.
2. Is it possible to make the medical visit in Brussels and go to interview in Cameroon as scheduled in 2NL?
October 18, 2017 at 23:28
1. I just answered.
2. No.
October 19, 2017 at 07:26
Okay. Got it Simon. Thank you very much for the priceless job you deliver. Will post how interview went down in december.
October 18, 2017 at 20:34
