I don’t know exactly when the issue will be resolved. When I have more news I will share it.

Hi BritSimon, 2AF25*** Sierra Leone.
Is it advisable to move my case to Liberia?
Will I be able to get interview even though my case is current?
Please take me through 🙏🏽

It would be better to move, but that is extremely hard to achieve once you are current (stage 4). You basically need the new embassy to ask KCC to reassign your case to them. How to persuade them to do that – that is what is hard.

I like the idea of an appea/ lawsuitl as I entered for 2026 and was not selected. However, I am concerned that having my name on a petition might go against me once I gain entry to the US or during any future visa application process. Is this a valid concern or am I being a little OTT?

A little OTT – although I understand because this administration is petty and stupid. There are laws against retaliation, and in past lawsuits (beg and small) there have been no cases of retaliation.

Greetings BritSimon,
I’m 2025AF25***, my case was current in April till then I haven’t received 2nl. I have checked my visa status and it boldly written “AT NVC”, This status has been there for two months now.
Will the “AT NVC” change to PROCESSING or READY?
Do I really have a chance?
Why is it that they haven’t send second notification letters to Sierra Leoneans for couple of months now?
I’m curious and optimistic because this is becoming worrisome and frustrating🥹😞

You are at risk because Freetown has not taken enough cases and is heavily backlogged. You could try moving to another embassy, but it might be too late.

you can’t be sure what this will lead to for the whole dv process, stop jeopardizing the current results of dv2025 and dv2026 draws.
May 24, 2025 at 23:49
That’s not a sensible perspective, and frankly other people have a right to do whatever they want, with or without your permission.

Hi Simon,
I am not chargeable to the UK, but to another EU country.
Assuming the lawsuit moves forward, do you think there’s a risk that the program might be paused until the selection issues are resolved? If so, that could stall all progress in the EU region — and potentially lead to the DV-2025 program effectively ending by the time the lawsuit is filled. The potential errors in the selection might even be used by some as justification to shut down this year’s program entirely – which would not be surprising given the current path on immigration policies.

No I don’t think that is a possibility. Having said that, I have tried to imagine all scenarios but this is not something that can be totally predicted.
