Here is the end month update of the data. Not too much to say about the data – it shows normal progress over the last two weeks, no big surprises. I have included a list of embassies so you can get the correct abbreviation for the embassies.
Please take a look at the file and use filters on the file to work out specifics on any country/region you are interested in – I don’t have time to do that for everyone that requests specific data to their interest. You can learn how to filter here.
By the way – I am going to be on vacation for the next few days so I may not be checking in as often.
To explain what the status codes mean.
The first status for every case is “AT NVC”. You can ignore the text on the case – the case has not been passed to NVC. What this status means is that the case is in one of the following situations.
- The case is not yet current.
- The case is current, BUT the DS260 has not be submitted at all, or it was submitted but not processed yet – and therefore not scheduled.
- The case is current, the form is processed, but it is waiting to be scheduled (typically because the cases have not yet been sent to the embassies yet).
“In Transit”
This status is shown for a brief period when KCC has scheduled the interview, and transferred the case to the embassy. However, the embassy has not yet updated CEAC to acknowledge they have received the case.
“READY”
This is the next status after in transit. It means the case has arrived at the embassy for interview. Sometimes a case will continue to show ready even after the interview.
“Issued”
Pretty obviously – this is the status we all want to see! The interview took place, was successful and the visa has been approved/issued.
“Refused”
This is the status no one wants to see, meaning the interview took place and the selectee was denied. A derivative can be refused, while the principal is approved. However, if the principal is refused – all the derivatives are refused also – even if the embassy fails to update CEAC.
“Administrative Processing”
This is when someone did not have all the documents at the interview OR some additional checks are needed before the case can be adjudicated. AP can last a few days or several months. The status updates during that time are meaningless.
Here is the file itself.

Hi BritSimon,
I was sent an email on the 29th of June by the embassy informing me that they are unable to issue a visa after being placed on AP for almost 6 months. Keeping in mind that I am from Somalia and this was just a day before Trump’s travel ban went into effect. My CEAC status still shows am on AP on this day and I am just wondering is that normal. Is not supposed to be updated to refused? Do I still have hope?
Thanks

No, their decision is final, and updating CEAC is not mandatory.

Thank you very much for the great support.
I have 1 more question.
-regarding vaccination, I am 35 years and as far as I know I was not given all vaccinations when I was child. I got a replacement vaccination card and the authority marked on the card as all vaccinations were given to me.
My question is that is there a way doctor can discover that i was not given all vaccinations and the authority issued the replacement card is lying ?especially i am 35 now.
The vaccination card is required for the physician to make the medical for me. Is the card required for the embassy also?
May 15, 2017 at 16:24
The physician will administer any vaccinations they deem required.

1-Is there a form that i need to fill in after receiving the 2nl?
2-how will they send me the passports back after interview and how can i figure that thing out?
3- what kind of legalization documents need or they are enough by themselves with their institutions’ seal an signature?

1. No – unless thre embassy contact you and tell you to complete something.
2. THey might tell you to setup an account with a courier. But anyway – they explain.
3. This depends on country specifics – so follow instructions from the embassy or on their country/embassy pages in the dvlottery instructions.

thanks agin
May 18, 2016 at 15:29
That is all they need for now.
May 20, 2016 at 08:04
Thanks for your reply. but through reading here and there i found some posts said it needs KCC to process ds-260 between 4 to 5 months. if this the case then the hope for having the second letter is very low. thanks again

Processing time varies throughout the year.

April 25, 2016 at 17:36
They might well ask about that, yes.
April 24, 2016 at 06:58
Thank you Simon.. So I can still attend the interview without the confirmation page of the courier services.. Http//as. Usvisa-info. Com/en-ke/Iv that is what am using to register
April 24, 2016 at 17:08
No, I mean find a way to register. The first option looks right, but if that doesn’t work choose “none of the above”
April 23, 2016 at 08:08
Hi simon my interview is on third may but when I tried to register with the courier company it’s say my case is not ready for scheduling.. What could be the problem.. Am in Kenya
April 23, 2016 at 16:00
DV cases are not in the courier company system. So – you have to choose an option to allow you to register an account with the courier company – but don’t worry about the appointment. I haven’t seen the system you are using – give me the details if you want me to look at it.
