As I write it is July 19, 2019. In recent months the first batch of 2NLs would have been sent by now. But I take this “delay” as a good thing. To me it indicates they are trying to squeeze in as many interviews as possible for September and did not just use the end of June as a cutoff for documents being received.
So – to the staff at KCC – thanks for your caring and your efforts!
To everyone else – remember – patience is key in this process!

Read the FAQ.
July 27, 2019 at 11:25
Sorry, I misread your number I thought 38K, but now I see you are 3.8K, so probably you will get your email request in a month or two 🙂
July 27, 2019 at 09:19
Hello Simon
I submitted DS260 around 16th may, I received confirmation email just seconds later. But since then, I’ve not heard anything on probably submission of documents. My case 2020AF38××
July 27, 2019 at 11:24
You have a long time to wait. Since DV2020 cases (interviews) do not start until October, I can surely say that you will have to wait at least 8-9 months from now, so it will take some time until you receive the email for the submission of documents.
July 27, 2019 at 14:09
Wait some more weeks.
July 26, 2019 at 20:55
Hello Brit. Recently I have been worried, since I got documents confirmation on July 8th. So I emailed the KCC and got a reply that goes:
Your case number is now current for interview processing. Once the interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via email to check……. Because your case is ready to be scheduled, KCC can no longer unlock your application.
Is this promising that I will be scheduled? My CN is 2019AS00009xxx Thanks in advance
July 27, 2019 at 03:59
Read the FAQ please.
July 24, 2019 at 17:34
@af44xxx, how did your ready for reseduling email look like since you have gotten the 2nl?
July 24, 2019 at 07:00
Hi BritSimon,
Documents Submitted: 28th of June
Documents confirmation email: 8th of July
Case Number: 2019AS90–
Do you think that I still have a shot at getting scheduled for the interview?
thanks in advance
July 24, 2019 at 14:44
You’ll find out in the next week.
July 24, 2019 at 20:29
Hi brit. Am Af46xxx and I submitted my ds 260 December 2018 and I was asked to send further documents just July 15 and after one week just yesterday I called them and the lady reply that my case is already scheduled and told me the exact time and date of interview before receiving 2nil the like five hours I got the 2nil and my interview will be conducted at 5septemberin Tz this year.
July 27, 2019 at 00:56
You are very lucky to have made it. Probably one of the last to be scheduled.
July 25, 2019 at 16:13
Hello again. I had emailed the KCC and got a reply that goes:
Your case number is now current for interview processing. Once the interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via email to check http://www.dvlottery.state.gov. If you need to make changes to your DS-260 you should contact the consular section where you will be interviewed, or bring the information about your changes to your interview appointment. Because your case is ready to be scheduled, KCC can no longer unlock your application.
Is this promising? Thanks again
July 27, 2019 at 02:55
If you had read the FAQ you would understand that, yes, it is “promising”. Now read the FAQ.

July 22, 2019 at 17:24
Hi sir, thanks for the effort in advance
I’m here today because my cousin is 2019 DV winner with case#: 2019AF38216.
We have submitted all necessary documents and said that they had received a complete DS260 and all documentation.
We haven’t yet received 2NL.
Sir, what do you advise?
July 22, 2019 at 17:26
Patience.
July 22, 2019 at 15:46
Hello Brit good day
My interview is tomorrow but my medical results are not ready, I did the medicals three weeks ago… but I was given a letter to present at the embassy… my worry is that will it stop me from having a visa or will my interview be postponed till I get the results???
July 22, 2019 at 16:19
Whether they interview or not without a medical is handled differently at each embassy. However, you cannot be issued unless the medical is complete.
July 22, 2019 at 15:04
I hope the delay would be so insignificant to shut me out of the visa bulletin.
July 22, 2019 at 15:28
DV2020 doesn’t even START until October!
July 22, 2019 at 14:56
While replacing the my old passport, the issuing authority retains the old one. So, there will be no two passports to bring with me to the embassy. I am a DV2020 participant.
July 22, 2019 at 15:01
That is unusual.
But since you are a DV2020 case this is quite simple. So – if your current passport is no longer valid after September 30th 2019, you MUST replace it. I assume you have not been asked for documents yet by KCC (because you would have mentioned that critical point!). You will not be scheduled until you supply documents, so renew your passport now, then submit your documents once you have the new passport. That might create a small delay – but so what.
July 22, 2019 at 18:31
Brita am a DV 2019 winner and i too replaced my passport, and don’t say that they retain your passport while you process a new one NO they don’t your passport is given back while you wait for the new one, so go replace your passport and take both of them to your interview furthermore am 100% sure your ds260 has not even began being processed on so chill out bana and replace your passport ASAP
July 22, 2019 at 07:57
Hey Brit, my government has announced Sept 30, 2019 as a deadline for the current “old generation” passport and passport holders are supposed to acquire the “new generation” e-passports by the set date. Now, the problem is, i have already submitted my DS-260 on May 13, 2019. Following your posts and comments, i have realized that KCC will be sending the 2NLs between now and close of business Wed, July 31, 2019. My question is, what can i do? Because if my case will be current and scheduled for interview, i might not have the chance to get the new passport number in time? What will be my fate? My Case Number is: AF10xxx
July 22, 2019 at 08:59
Hey Brita are you talking about 2020AF****?
July 22, 2019 at 10:08
Yes am talking about 2020AF10xxx
July 22, 2019 at 13:14
u definitely from Kenya, like wise here, my personal advice and i suppose you are dv 2020 and the 2nl that will be sent this month will be for dv2019 not 2020 just apply for a new passport it takes only 3 to 4 weeks to be issued furthermore you can travel only with the e passport even if the visa is on the old passport
July 22, 2019 at 14:37
Yes Edgar, i am from Kenya. My worry is, KCC could have finished or be finalizing the reviewing and asking them to unlock my DS-260 application may have a negative impact on my application in terms of delays.
July 22, 2019 at 14:39
Did Edgar mention unlocking?
July 22, 2019 at 13:36
You would take old and new passports to the interview.
July 22, 2019 at 14:29
@Brit, don’t you think my DS-260 form could have been processed and done with already and asking KCC to unlock it for me for further updates will lead to delay in reprocessing it? My Case number is 2020AF10xxx
July 22, 2019 at 14:34
Did I mention unlocking?
July 22, 2019 at 14:41
I know you didn’t, but basing on your deep understanding of the DV lottery, you can estimate how far KCC is with my DS and if asking them to unlock for updates is prudent for me. You have your finger on the pulse of this?
July 22, 2019 at 14:47
Oh my.
I am not suggesting unlocking. Just taking both passports to the interview.
However, you seem to be having some conversation in your head about unlocking. You mentioned 2NLs by the end of this month which is for DV2019 applications, and unfortunately you have not made it clear which year you are in, so I am NOT recommending unlocking a DV2019 case. If though you are actually DV2020, you can unlock which might delay your case somewhat – but so what. The Green Cards issued in November are the same as those issued in October.
July 22, 2019 at 07:55
MY HEART IS GOING OUT THEY ARE SO LATE GOD HELP US
July 22, 2019 at 07:09
Hey brit, if one’s visa status reads AP by september 30th, is that a gone case?
July 22, 2019 at 13:34
Yes
July 21, 2019 at 19:39

Those cases never get approved.
July 21, 2019 at 09:58
Hello Brit,
Please are the 50,000 Visas on DV Lottery only available for Principal Applicants or they also include derivatives?
In other words, is it within the same 50,000 Visas that derivatives survive?
Thanks
July 21, 2019 at 14:52
The selectee numbers announced AND the 50k include derivatives.
July 21, 2019 at 07:03
hey britt, i have a question,,,
in my birth certificate my mom has the same last name as our family,
but in here citizenship and passport she has her family last name
for eg. my family last name is A
and my mom family last name is B
when i fill out the ds-260 form i used her name same as her passport
will that do anything like affect the 2nl?
July 21, 2019 at 14:44
No problem.
July 21, 2019 at 04:28
It’s a frustrating situation ! I have email them like three times their replay was “Thank you for your inquiry.
Records indicate you have submitted a complete and valid DS-260 application for each family member, and you have provided all required documentation to the Kentucky Consular Center. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing. Interviews for the DV 2019 program will begin in October 2018 and conclude on September 30, 2019. ” this is their last reply on July 16th !
July 21, 2019 at 05:00
So no need to ask again. Just wait.
July 21, 2019 at 05:35
Ok thanks Brit ♥️ I know we are too much these days
July 20, 2019 at 20:34
WHAT WHEN YOU RECEIVE AN EMAIL SAYING ”records indicated you have submitted….” THIS MEANS EVERYTHING IS OK I ASKED BRIT ABOUT THIS AND I TELL THEM WHAT IS THE NEXT STEP AFTER THIS HE SAID THE NEXT STEP IS 2NL. SO PLEASE WE ARE WORRY GOD HELP US TO RECEIVE 2NL FOR EVERYONE. PLEASE STOP TALKING WITHOUT KNOWING.
WE ARE HERE WITH BRIT TO BE HELPED NOT TO BE WORRIED
July 20, 2019 at 20:21
So the email “records indicated you have submited…” does not mean that they are satisfied with my documents?
July 20, 2019 at 21:29
What does the email say???
July 20, 2019 at 18:06
thank you for the hope that you always give us
July 20, 2019 at 15:45
Thanks you for everything mister brit God bless you hopefully one day I can get it everything is god thanks u again
July 20, 2019 at 19:27
@ Abdoulaye sow all the best.
July 20, 2019 at 15:27
Sorry brit but I was called them every single day to ask them about my document but any time they told me the something like your case still not process yet so when we done we will send you an imail to let you know but since then and now they can finish it yet so I don’t have choices and called them yesterday like 2 time a day she said for cases 2019 still not finished process yet can’t get an interview this year so everything is About God but I did my effort every day good luck to everyone who got his interview date
July 20, 2019 at 15:36
I think you mishandled the communication with them. You did NOT get to the point I was making to you – and you and I exchanged messages on this topic many, many times. It’s frustrating – but you have a positive spirit about it, and perhaps your god has a different plan for you.
July 20, 2019 at 06:17
Is it possible get 2NL’s in 20 – 21 July?
July 20, 2019 at 14:53
Anytime between now and the end of the month.
July 19, 2019 at 21:00
Good evening Alias,
Tell me, did you get your 2NL?
July 19, 2019 at 19:01
Hi thanks for the post Mr Brit
I emailed KCC yesterday and got ? today
Thank you for your inquiry.
Let’s excecise some patience and wait hopefully God will see us through
CMR
July 19, 2019 at 20:39
That’s a reassuring email….
July 19, 2019 at 20:47
Thanks you but I called them today she said they are not processing 2019 cases anymore that’s mean I can’t not get an interview anymore thanks u for everything
July 19, 2019 at 23:21
I don’t understand. Your region is current and they said they’re processing your interview, so how is it possible you will not get an interview? What did I miss?
July 20, 2019 at 04:11
A friend with 2019AF34### was asked to send documents in January and he did so in March 5th and didn’t call or mail kcc if they were satisfied with his documents. Three days ago I learned about his case and asked him to mail kcc, at first he tried to convince me that all was ok but when we finally mail kcc this is the reply from kcc.
Thank you for your inquiry.
Your DS-260 was received too late to complete necessary processing for an interview. The final cutoff numbers for the DV 2019 program have been established. No further interviews will be scheduled, even if a case number has become current. Your case will not be scheduled for an interview in the DV 2019 program. There will be no further processing on your case and your case will not be unlocked. You may apply for future DV programs, though you will be given no preference based on your selection in the DV 2019 program.
Registration for the 2020 Diversity Visa program (DV-2020) is closed. Registration for the 2021 Diversity Visa program (DV-2021) will be available on the website (www.dvlottery.state.gov) in October 2019. The entry form will be available for submission during this period and this period only. The website at http://www.dvlottery.state.gov is the only way to register for DV-2021. Entries will NOT be accepted through the U.S. Postal Service.
In order for the Kentucky Consular Center to assist with inquiries regarding a specific Diversity Visa (DV) case, you must provide the Principal Applicant’s full name, complete case number, and date of birth in the following format (MMDDYYYY) as entered on the original entry. Please remember that the Kentucky Consular Center does not have the authority to tell you whether or not your specific case will be disqualified. Only a consular officer can do that at the time of your visa interview. Do not send any paper documents to the Kentucky Consular Center.

So sad for him even when I called kcc no change. Thanks brit for help people follow up their cases.
July 20, 2019 at 05:15
That;s not really a surprise. They will send the last 2NLs soon, but will not accept people that have not submitted documents etc.
July 20, 2019 at 07:16
I did everything I sent all the documents recurred at the same time on 30 may and they reply me that they receive it and still in process and today I called them they said my case can’t get interviews because they don’t process anymore for DV2019 and my case number was current Africa Guinea conackry 39607 muy God help all the people who got interviews date thanks you for everything mister brit
July 20, 2019 at 08:54
Hello brit. Is it possible for one not be scheduled even though one received the mail :documents received
July 20, 2019 at 15:09
“Documents received” is NOT the point. They can receive the documents, but perhaps the documents are not complete, not legible, not referenced correctly.
Sadly, the original poster “Abdoulaye Sow” did not pay attention to what I told him on numerous occaisions. It was frustrating to watch him continually miss the point. I eventually got him to call KCC in early July and they told him to hurry up too. But still he did not action what he was told. So eventually it came to the point where he has now lost his chance because he did not pay attention or take care of his case. I can tell someone what to do, but I can’t force them to do it.
Here is one of MANY rimes I tried to wake him up – you can read the TONE in my instruction as being URGENT because this conversation with him had been going on for weeks at that point.

July 20, 2019 at 08:55
That’s pretty discouraging… Do you think they had a problem with your documents? I hope you’re not just one of the people who fell between the cracks just because KCC was overwhelmed and congested.
July 20, 2019 at 15:11
@Shiraz. That is not the case.

Hello brit I have a Question so is a possible to get interviews date without getting the kcc complete de DS260 because I didn’t receive any imail from them since I they received my documents on 30 mai give me the best regards please thanks 2019af39607
July 19, 2019 at 20:25
They WILL NOT schedule an interview unless the DS260 is completed and the documents are submitted. That does NOT mean you need the email saying they are satisfied in order to be scheduled BUT you should check with them to see if they are satisfied with your documents.
July 19, 2019 at 16:27
Hey Brit, you are good at what you do and we appreciate your tireless concerns for us always. Thanks for this short post it help build our hope and patience to wait
