Hello Brit, and some 2NL arrived on February 28, however, there are cases where 2NL has not arrived yet. Do these cases still have a chance of being called in the next few days? Thank you

At long last, I have received the 2nl. Thanks Brit… You told me to be patient and surely I have received it.

Hi Simon,
I was selected from the OC region, and am anticipating my number coming up for interview selection soon. I’m concerned about 2 possible reasons for refusal. My questions are:
1) Does being in the Australian Army’s “Standby Reserve” unit preclude DV visa issuance?
I appreciate this is a pretty specific question so more broadly: how does current (technical) military service in another country affect the process? I have the option to “Separate” (discharge) if that would be required to obtain a greencard.
2) Does having dual nationality affect the chance of approval? In my case it’s a country where I believe the US has a reciprocal citizenship agreement (as well as Australia of course). I was born in Australia.
Cheers
March 6, 2018 at 06:10
1. No – as long as you are able to leave the reserves – it should be no problem.
2. Makes no difference.
March 6, 2018 at 08:13
Hi Simon,
just curious to know if you will publish your own forecast about next coming months case numbers.
Thanks very much and have a good day
March 6, 2018 at 14:40
Wait and see.
March 6, 2018 at 08:57
how will i receive my second letter? print from the esc site or what?
March 6, 2018 at 14:39
Yes – print it.
March 6, 2018 at 10:48
Hello Brit can i change the address i submitted on D260 for the person who will receive my GC
March 6, 2018 at 14:35
Yes
Either unlock and correct before the interview, or change at the interview.
March 6, 2018 at 11:43
in the certificate from the place of work the amount of wages should be indicated?
March 6, 2018 at 14:35
Not normally – but that won’t harm.
March 6, 2018 at 12:24
Hi Simon,
I was selected from the African region, Somalia, as well filled the DS20 with appropriate time, so the Ban still Active or Possible to schedule a Visa Interview.
What is the possibility stage on Acceptance ?
March 6, 2018 at 14:35
The travel ban is still in place. You can be interviewed, but won’t be approved while the ban is in place. So – you have to decide whether to attend the interview, knowing you will be wasting your money.
March 6, 2018 at 13:13
U will get interview but they will not approve ur visa untill ban is lifted .
Thank you. Don’t wait brit Simon this one is the answer.
March 6, 2018 at 13:37
Hi Brit,
Is it important that I take along my xray to the interview?
March 6, 2018 at 14:31
You take the medical report – including xrays if they give that to you.
March 6, 2018 at 13:52
Hi sir, can u please tell what will be the cutoff number for this year?
March 6, 2018 at 14:28
No one knows for sure.
March 6, 2018 at 17:19
I am in AF50xxxxx do you think I have a chance if yes what’s the percentage in chances for such number this year.
March 6, 2018 at 17:45
You have some risk. I don’t give risk percentages.
March 6, 2018 at 14:17
Hi Brit,
I got interview this morning. The consular refuse to give me the visa because of the following:
Section 212(a)(5) (A): You are not qualified for the Diversity Visa as you submitted multiple electronic DV2018 entries.
I only submitted one entry for DV2018. They showed me the application was submitted by someone who got my picture and profile 5 years ago and consular said they apply for me every year but I never know. I never authorize them to apply for me. What should I do now? please advise.
Thanks you.
March 6, 2018 at 14:27
There is nothing you can do. The refusal was correct, and there is no appeal. This is the danger of letting a third party apply on your behalf.
March 6, 2018 at 15:58
Hi Simon, as we did it the same in the past (third party apply on my behalf) there is a way to know if they stopped to do so or they continued? I remember we paid for two years and it was about 5 years ago so in theory they did it only twice…..
Thanks
March 6, 2018 at 16:46
There is no way to check that through the lottery system. The assumption is that YOU remain in control of your photo, data and entries. The moment you gave that agent the details, you put yourself at in their hands, but you remain responsible for their actions.
March 6, 2018 at 18:00
Hi Brit,
Is the refusal from double DS 260 for the 2NL or multiple initial entry for the 1NL?
March 6, 2018 at 18:08
Entering the lottery more than once in a single year.
March 6, 2018 at 22:53
But I never authorize them to apply for me after one time in 5 years ago. It is not my fault.
March 6, 2018 at 23:41
You are responsible for their entry of your details because you gave it to them. This decision cannot be reversed.
March 6, 2018 at 23:11
So sad Jolie? Where are you from and in which country was your interview?
March 6, 2018 at 15:25
Thank you
March 6, 2018 at 15:59
Hy Brit,
I have my interview on the 23rd of April. When is best time for me to take my medical appointment?
March 6, 2018 at 16:47
Ask the physician.
March 6, 2018 at 16:44
Received 2NL is DS260 available to go through once again
March 6, 2018 at 16:54
Dear Britsmon
Many thanks for all your support for dv winners and hoping the winners and others should support with finance for this blog:)
Here are some of my questions and I am dv2018 winner .
1,I have seen in your blog after 2nla letter will be about 6 weeks to the interview date but I am looking less than a month is it common or only for this month?
2,I actually married and have a daughter and all are reported initially even before ds260 form.so will I expect Their names on the 2nla letter? Or only my name on 2nla?
Thanks,God Bless you!
March 6, 2018 at 17:23
1. This month was unusual.
2. The 2NL will have the names from the initial entry.

March 6, 2018 at 18:44
My husband won alottery and we were engaged before the interivew and we waited till the interview finished and he got the visa then we got married , how is the easiest way to visit him or to travel with him , we have all the evidences that we married for love we were in the same office and we engaged 7 months before marriage.
March 6, 2018 at 19:09
Why on earth did you not get married before the interview???
Once he has relocated to the USA, he can file a family based sponsorship case. It is more complex, slower and expensive than the DV process. It will take around 2 years.
March 6, 2018 at 20:05
Sorry, Simon- I posted this question elsewhere on your site but now cannot find where! I realise the ask questions page is the most logical place. I’m new to this.
I’m British, my husband Japanese. He lived in America for 10 years. Since leaving he’s been doing the green card lottery for 10 years. We just got an interview date for April 4th- we were amazed. Apparently we need Japanese police certificates since he was born there and I lived there for 6 years 10 years ago. However according to the Japanese embassy site getting them takes two months. What to do??

March 6, 2018 at 22:19
Yes you can – ask KCC to unlock.
March 7, 2018 at 00:37
Hi Mr. Simon I have two questions
If the embassy does not consider your high school qualifications to be of their standard, would they denied your visa or will the consider your work experience and territory education.
2 my territory education certificate (ACCA) was uploaded on the student login website where I was advised to print it. I had written to ACCA which is based in England for an original one and the indicated it will be the same certificate on the website the will print and mail to me which will have no special stamp, signature or paper will this be a problem I printed the certificate and the emails that I have gotten from ACCA REGARDING the certificate to take to my interview when my cn become current.
March 7, 2018 at 01:00
Have you read this?

March 7, 2018 at 12:22
Thank you this really helped.
March 7, 2018 at 04:40
Hi Brits
I forgot to put the High School institution in the DS 260, can that be a problem in the interview my case is now at the local embassy. I have my certificate prepared for the interview
March 7, 2018 at 05:49
Hi Sir,
I come again, my b2 visa was under admin processing, so yesterday embassy called up a school that a studied before for ccna course to check. First the secretary who is my trainer wife answer the call and acording to her the woman that called coudn’t give my name properly so she said she does know me. later when her husband comes he knew it could be me. so He told me and write to the embassy on my behalf to rectified the issues, he received an auto repliy, he tried to call but it is not possible.
My question is that why embassy ask if I work there instead of asking if I studied?
After the e-mail that the director sent to them do you think I should contact embassy myself or no need
can this hole issue affect the outcome of my application?
Thanks sir.
March 7, 2018 at 06:42
I only answer DV lottery questions.
March 7, 2018 at 06:42
Hi Brit;

March 7, 2018 at 14:48

March 7, 2018 at 07:08

March 7, 2018 at 14:47
Follow instructions from the embassy.

March 7, 2018 at 09:59
Good morning Simon. Our family are travelling to the U.S in the next few months to activate our diversity visas. The delivery address we had listed on our DS-260 form for the green card to be sent to has now changed. We plan to have them delivered to our friends who live in Queens, New York. I think I read that this won’t be an issue as we can update Customs and Border Protection upon arrival? However, do you think our updated address details will also be disclosed to the Social Security Administration in order for our social security cards to be delivered to the correct address? Unfortunately, I selected “yes” for the SSA question on all of our DS-260s. I’ve since read that it was probably easier not have done this and simply visited a local office upon arriving in the U.S. Cheers, appreciate your help as always!
March 7, 2018 at 14:42
The SSN (or even the GC) might still go to the previous address.
March 8, 2018 at 00:04
Thanks Simon, fingers crossed. Do you think it’s worth us emailing and notifying the Kentucky Consular Center in advance of our arrival? Either way, we’re not super worried as we’re activating in May but not moving to the U.S until October, so there’s at least 4 months for the GC/SSN to make their way to our updated address. Thanks again.
March 8, 2018 at 00:51
KCC don’t care.
March 7, 2018 at 11:14
Hi Brits
I am a beneficiary of dv 2018. My wife is the principal applicant from South Africa and I claim chargeability of her country since I am from a country that is no longer eligible for visa lottery.
1. My question is would I be required to submit the same documents as hers during the interview. However I understand that as beneficiary I do not need to submit my educational documents.
2. However if am asked to do so, do you think there might be a problem with me having a D7 grade in one of my high school subject even though am currently a PhD graduate and a part-time lecturer/ postdoctoral fellow.
Kind regards
Lola
March 7, 2018 at 14:40
1. Yes
2. No
March 7, 2018 at 12:07
hello brit, please i will like to know, in my country we need only the address of a host, what if the host has a status of refugee? do the embassy carry out search on host identities? if so, will that be a problem to my application?
March 7, 2018 at 14:22
I don’t know.
March 7, 2018 at 13:31
Good morning sir, A friend of mine was denied yesterday because she won the 2015 dv and she added her husband on the Case, due to their higher case number 60*** they didn’t attend a interview. she remarried in 2016 and her husband won dv 2017 and added her to his when she was filling in the ds260 she said not marry before because she felt the embassy had no record on her since she didn’t attend a interview..they went for their interview yesterday and the Co ask if she was marry before she said no..so the Co told her u was helping someone on your program before and because of this both of u are denied and will never go to America again.
My question, is there any other way she can still pursue her american Dream except from the dv program?
Thanks sir
March 7, 2018 at 14:20
You seem to prefer lying over telling the truth.
You have asked me a number of times about *your* case – and now this is “your friend”. Sure.
In November you asked me about your earlier submission, but you didn’t mention that you had added a husband to that case. So because you weren’t truthful then, you didn’t get a good answer from me at that time.
https://britsimonsays.com/dv-interview-questions-will-asked/comment-page-12/#comment-93708
You could have saved yourself a lot of expense and been successful, but you carried on lying so have been banned. OF COURSE there is no other way for you to get to America.
March 7, 2018 at 14:24
9508 number of files remaining in the eu region. Could it be current this month?
248xx what do you think about the number ? thanks
March 7, 2018 at 14:53
It obviously won’t be current this month. Your number is fine.
March 7, 2018 at 15:14
Do you think 29K is fine too?…
March 7, 2018 at 15:55
Yes
March 7, 2018 at 15:24
Hi Brit,
After creating the account and registering the profile @ ustraveldocs.com, how do u ascertain that it was successful? Will u be called or an email will be sent?
March 7, 2018 at 15:56
You either have an account set up or you don’t.
March 7, 2018 at 15:37

March 7, 2018 at 16:11
l have important question for our situtation, if we can go early,i will begin to work, but our case number 370xx , i think we will wait all case numbers are current, after that,if we know ın june all numbers are current,if we keep in contact with consolos,do they give early interview for arriving earlier to USA? if we send an email,do we have any chance?
Could you share your own ideas for me please?
March 7, 2018 at 17:08
You cannot get an interview before your number is current.
March 7, 2018 at 17:27
Mmzz
In ceac from over a month they mention my case as ready.my case was last updated on 28th Feb.bt still I was nt scheduled for a interview( I checked in ESC Too). Do u think I should contact the embassy .
March 7, 2018 at 18:25
Yes, contact KCC and the embassy.
March 8, 2018 at 01:06
Thank you
March 7, 2018 at 17:35
but there is a missing point by you. DV 2017 ,on may,all case numbers were current. if all case numbers are current, current for all region,is this same situtation? it doesnt mean that our case number will come definitely one day? Mentally,we can get early interview days because all region is current? am i wrong?
March 7, 2018 at 17:37
but weplayed DV18, and in DV18, not all numbers are current!
March 7, 2018 at 18:28
LOL – I am missing a point??? No.
DV2017 had less people selected, so regions went current because KCC calculated there were enough visas for everyone. In fact, visas ran out at the end and some people were left without visas.
DV2018 has too many people selected in all regions. I have explained this numerous times.
March 7, 2018 at 17:42
i mean all case number is current for DV 2018 like DV 2017,can we get interview day earlier,i would want to learn,i m sorry,i explained my question in hard ☺️☺️☺️
March 7, 2018 at 17:46
in DV18, all casenumber will not get current! Cuttoff is around 33000.
March 7, 2018 at 17:51
omg,370xx Europe at risk really? i m shocked now really,are u sure ? ???
March 7, 2018 at 17:55
yep. sry 🙁
March 7, 2018 at 17:58
Don’t be pessimistic omg !
March 7, 2018 at 18:02
Chill Lionel. 33k is the official number we got. You start panicking at people with 26k.
March 7, 2018 at 18:29
“official number we got”.
PLEASE be careful with what you say – that is NOT an “official” number!!!
March 7, 2018 at 18:18
Don’t panic its not official.
March 7, 2018 at 18:22
“estimated” anything above is at risk, but not impossible. better?
March 7, 2018 at 18:56
Better, near to official!!!! The way it’s going??
March 7, 2018 at 18:31
Hi Mr simon,
My friend under AP for around 5 months and his interview was in Cairo, now he is leaving in KSA
The passports in the embassy in cairo
My question is it possible that the medical re examination will be in KSA then he send it to Cairo ?
Thank you
March 7, 2018 at 18:35
No. It must be performed in Egypt.
March 7, 2018 at 19:26
Good day Sir, have just realised that i didnt fill in Secondary School Institution can that be a problem at the interview. My interview date already schedule.
March 7, 2018 at 20:00
So all you can do is take all the proof you can think of to the interview. It should be OK
March 7, 2018 at 19:48
My wife won the green card lottery smand we are in the USA now . She has F2 visa and I have F1 visa . She is the principal applicant. I work as an UBER deriver and I have work permit but I worked for 10 months with an expired EAD but now I have a valid card and we are sending our applications this month. Would that affect our chance ? Or they only look if she is qualify for the green card.

Can pneumonia course visa denial?
March 7, 2018 at 20:50
How many times have I asked you to read the FAQ?
March 7, 2018 at 23:19
Dear Adan;
As Simon advise, you should read the faq. But for a quick response here is your answer:
XXX Very nice useful reply deleted by BritSimon XXXX
It is my belief that people will be lazy if you spoon feed them. So – you answer this question, and this person or someone else decides that it is easier to ask a question and get spoon fed rather than taking a few moments to take responsibility for finding the answer. That doesn’t help the person involved OR me. So please – leave me to answer the way I want to answer on my blog – whether you understand the rationale or not.
March 7, 2018 at 23:50
Oh – and for context – Adan has posted over 60 questions. Most of which are basic obvious questions that could be found in the FAQ, or repeated questions, often where I have already answered and he simply ignores my answer and asks the same thing again. I have answered him, asked him to read articles and the FAQ, told him I was frustrated with his laziness, ignored and deleted his questions – you name it – I have tried. So – there is a reason I responded like I did.
March 7, 2018 at 22:14
If I win as the main petitioner and my spouse does not meet the basic academic qualifications for dv applicants, will that cause her or both of us to loss I our visas even though I the main petitioner qualifies?
March 7, 2018 at 22:54
No. The derivatives do NOT have to meet any education requirement.
March 8, 2018 at 00:41
Greeting sir,i am dv winner now and i am holder of us tourist visa ,when i applied for tourist visa long time ago,i was engaged but instead of noting iam engaged i think wrongly noted my self as married because there is no section that mention a person is fiance(e) so i realized that after i broke up with fiancee that i must mention that iam single during dv entry period and ds260 submission ,1)is this fine ?2)what do you advice?Thank you sir for your explanation.
March 8, 2018 at 00:53
Telling lies creates risk. I don’t know how you previous lies will affect this process – the only way to know is to go through the process. That uncertainty and risk is why telling the truth is always better.
March 8, 2018 at 01:03
This is the truth what i wrote to you regarding the family situation there is no issues in this as long as proofs are clear and there is no contradictions .your thoughts?
March 8, 2018 at 02:21
You may be telling the truth now – but you lied before – so my earlier comment stands.
March 8, 2018 at 01:19
Any updates about someone u heard having a high number over 60000?how many were selected in dv2018?
March 8, 2018 at 02:20
That doesn’t exist.
March 8, 2018 at 04:08
Dear Brit,
I am 2018AS2xxx, I just got 2NL for interview 4th April.
My friend in US will provide I-134 for me, but we don’t understand where to file the affidavit.
1) First, he needs to file / register in the USCIS office in U.S, then send original to me for interview?
2) He just need to fill out, sign and send to me for submission during interview?
Thanks for your advise.

March 8, 2018 at 06:01
No and No
