Greeting Sir,
I am here in USA and will be doing AOS.I made mistake on providing user name on social media in DS 260, instead of providing user name, I wrote the name that appears in the social media, do I need to unlock it and submit it again?
I made mistake in Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram..
Does unlocking DS260 has any bad effects and how many times can we unlock it?

Hello sir<
There is a question about social media which follow like this
"Other Social Media
Do you wish to provide information about your presence on any other websites or applications you have used within the last five years to create or share content (photos, videos, status updates, etc.)?
Yes
No"
so, what does this mean? I gave my gmail information and college gmail in this section as I use gmail to share contents and presentations, I am confused what does this actually mean?
November 2, 2019 at 04:46
They are looking for social media like Facebook, Instagram etc,

Hello BritSimon,
I have a specific question. I entered the US in Chicago and it has been indicated by the stamp in my pasport. Inititialy I had a B1 visa. Later on I changed my status to F1 (which is my current status). Last year I went to the US Virgin Islands on my student status while my visa was aready experied. On the border control I had my status checked and since I never left the US territory I was able to enter back no problem (but no stamp has been placed). I am a DV 2020 selectee and will be filing documents November.
My question is about the I-485 form (AOS). On the I-94 I have a recent update of entering US mainland (from the Virgin Islands) while I don’t have any stamps in my pasport for that specific entry. So i am wondering What location should I put on the I-485? The question they are asking in the form is: “Provide the information for Item Numbers 15. – 19. if you last entered the United States using a passport or travel document.” I am a bit confused what to put since my passport indicated the entry into Chicago (since there is a stamp) but the I-94 says the latest entry was from the Virgin Islands.
Thank you so much for all your help!

Hello Brit Simon,
This is more of a general question to your followers and yourself.
We are DV2020 OC4** and sent all our documents (got the congrats, we got them) and completed the DS260 and that was all good. Our CN came current the last VB but we are yet to get our 2NL. Has anybody in OC (up to CN 800 in line with the last VB) received their 2NL yet?
We contacted KCC about this yesterday and they said we’re ready for scheduling but it was a generic ‘robo’ email response.
Is this a case of patience for us? I’m just wondering if anybody within OC has received their 2NLs yet as well.
Thanks,
Almost There
November 2, 2019 at 15:16
Others will have received 2NLs for December interviews. When did you send the documents?
November 2, 2019 at 20:06
Sent 5 October. Got confirmation on 10th October. Thanks
November 2, 2019 at 20:12
So that was too later for December interviews anyway…
November 2, 2019 at 20:37
Thanks for your response. I agree with how this certainly is waiting game.

Try:
Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
Running Windows Network Diagnostics
ERR_CONNECTION_RESET
What should I do?
November 2, 2019 at 15:29
Sounds like you have a bad network connection at your end. Try another computer.
November 3, 2019 at 10:30
I have the same problem. Tried different computers, browsers, network providers and even tried a VPN but with no success. Sometimes I mange to get to the second page but then gives me the same error mesaage.

While filling out DV2021 application I made a mistake on Last/Family Name. I omit a spelling (Instead of writing Seven I wrote Sevn) is this going to create a problem if I am selected? Thank you in advance for your time.
November 2, 2019 at 15:33
No problem.
November 1, 2019 at 11:36
Hello Simon,
I have two questions.
Q1) Can my spouse and I apply individually but including the spouse’s information in each application OR should we simply use one of us as primary and apply only once?
Q2) I currently have a immigrant visa PR application pending, filed by my US citizen parent. Can I still apply for the DV lottery program?
Thanks
November 2, 2019 at 15:36
1. Both can apply. One entry per person.
2. Yes
November 1, 2019 at 11:38

November 1, 2019 at 13:47
Hi Britsimon. My sponsor is ready to fill I-134 but he says he only has W2 with him. Donot have tax file paper. Is is ok to only have W2.
November 2, 2019 at 15:42
That and other info like Payslips and ID
November 1, 2019 at 15:04
Brit, we cannot thank you enough for everything you do. You are the best.
My problem: I filled out my husband’s DS-260, and I answered NO to: “Have you ever served in the military?” I thought it refered to serving voluntarily as a military man. But we live in Cuba where all boys are compelled to be trained as military man for at least one year. That’s what he did.
1. Would this answer cause any trouble in the interview?
2. Should I unlock his DS-260, change my answer and mention that year?
3. Would this change, then, cause disqualification?
November 2, 2019 at 15:48
1. Possibly.
2. Yes
3. No
November 1, 2019 at 15:21
Hi Bret from Egypt,
1) There is a question in the DS260 form that asks “Do you have documentation to establish that you have received vaccinations in accordance with US laws?”
What are these vaccinations, and how do I prove that I have taken them long time ago as a child? This could be more than 10 years ago..
2) Another question in the form is “Does this job require at least 2 years of training or experience?”.
What does that mean, and what if I’m adding internships? P.S. I’ve been working full-time for only 1 years 8 months now (I”m 22 year old).
3) Is it advisable to submit the DS260 first then send the documents through email? What’s the order for this?
Thanks a lot!
November 2, 2019 at 15:49
1. So answer no then!
2. Answer no.
3. DS260 first.
November 1, 2019 at 18:53
Hi Simon,
Regarding my education, I did typo Bachelor of Bachelor of Arts (final year)and I wrote Marticulation exmination passed certificate for high school education (actually I should write High School Degree) in my 260 form.

November 2, 2019 at 15:57
No need to unlock for that.
November 2, 2019 at 18:10
Dear Mr. Simon,
Thanks a lot for your kind replied.
November 1, 2019 at 19:08
Brit, a 2020 winner friend, entered the lottery in October 2018 as a single man, he had had a girlfriend for 5 months then. They started living together in December and she got pregnant in January. The baby was born last month and he just found out (yesterday) he had been selected. He is not legally married to his wife yet. What could he do not to be disqualified?
November 2, 2019 at 15:58
He should marry, and then complete the DS260 using the add applicant feature for the wife and baby.
November 1, 2019 at 19:41

Hi Brit,
I’ve been studying English in the USA for 2 years so living here, to apply for DVLottery2021 should I put my address from the USA or my country of birth?
November 2, 2019 at 16:01
USA
November 1, 2019 at 21:52
Hi there,
I’d like to thank you for all the information about DV lottery that you put out there. It is extremely helpful.
I have a question and I didn’t find an answer to it, so I hope I don’t repeat it from somebody else. Unfortunately I’d registered to the DV lottery on an unofficial website. They didn’t ask any money for it, this isn’t my problem. I’m only afraid that I’ll miss my opportunity to register to the DV lottery this year.
Do you think there is a possibility to double check that I registered into the system or not?
If I’m disqualified because of duplicate registration, it is only for this year?
Thak you for your answer!
November 2, 2019 at 16:02
Enter again. If they entered with your passport ID the system warns of a duplicate entry.

Hi, Mr. Brit Simon,
My husband has just sent his DV2021 entry and realized that he did enter the wrong “city where you live today”. OMG!!! He’s been living in China for about 12 years. But his motherland and city where He was born is different 🙁 So he indicated his motherland as a “city where I live today”. Do you think this is a disqualification in case if he is selected? Thanks
November 2, 2019 at 16:12
No.

November 2, 2019 at 16:15
Yes, no problem. One each.
November 2, 2019 at 13:19
Hi Brit,
As per KCC asked documents I have submitted all documents to KCC . On my son birth certificate (10 Yrs) as it is hand written , some words are double written ( Birth date / Birth Time / Father name / Mother name / Birth Place all important information is clear ) .
1. Should I submit same copy as it doesn’t make any problem
2. Should I change it to clear one, though Scan Copy has already submitted to KCC
3. Apply for duplicate copy with Clear Written after Visa process
November 2, 2019 at 16:17
It’s not a problem. Use your own judgement.
November 2, 2019 at 16:05

hello sir,
I have already submitted the DS 260. I live in USA in F1 visa. I guess I made mistake while writing the user name in the “social media section” . I wrote the my name in the user name section on DS260. Do I need to unlock it and write the user name for social media what I use?
Also, there is question which follow below
{“Have you traveled to any countries/regions within the last five years?
Yes or NO”}
So, I came to USA on 2017 and has not traveled to any other countries.AS per the question I have traveled to USA within the last three years and If I click yes then there is no any option for USA.
Also, I asked one of my freind who has already submitted DS 260 but he told me that there is no such question in DS260 which makes me surprise and confused too,
Finally which submitting the DS260, I have entered my Case number without the leading Zeros,
is that a mistake or its Fine?
I appreciate your advice.
November 2, 2019 at 16:24
Number questions.
November 2, 2019 at 16:21
Hi Brit Simon,
I’m a DV2020 selectee. 2020AS00023XXX. I have two questions.
1. Since I have high case no, Is it okay to apply for DV2021? Is there a risk to my current application?
2. I have been living from birth to 2012 at address “A”. From 2012 till to date I’m living at new address “B”. Do I have to get a police clearance cert for address A and B both or will they require Police clearance cert for address B only?
Thank you for your continuous support.
Regards
LV
November 2, 2019 at 16:23
1. Yes, no risk.
2. Read the instructions.
November 2, 2019 at 17:04

November 2, 2019 at 18:13
First, are you planning to go to your home country for interview? If you are actually planning to adjust status in the USA there is a different process.
1. Your informatio should be accurate – so yes – unlock and change if needed.
2. Your answer might be no. It’s not a trick question – just answer truthfully.
3. Fine
November 2, 2019 at 18:51
I am planning for AOS and my case number is around 9*** from Asia..
November 2, 2019 at 19:10
Then your DS260 is irrelevant. The I-485 is what is important.
November 3, 2019 at 00:39
November Rain
I am a DV2020 selectee too,
FYI, I filled the DS-260 around August but just save not to submit.
But when I retrieved the DS-260 this week to check, I found several additional questions that did not exist on August, so I must make an answer if I want to go to the next page. The additional questions contain the one you got : Have you traveled to any countries/regions which the last five years?
That’s for your information.
November 2, 2019 at 17:04
Dear Brit,
First of all, I would like to thank you for solving people’s problem. I won the dv lottery 2020 in a family way. Since I had someone else filled the form for me, he didn’t add my oldest son after I won the lottery I called the kcc and I was told to add him in ds-260 and I did add him. Is this a problem? Will I be disqualified?
Thank you
November 2, 2019 at 18:14
I already answered you. Disqualification is certain.
November 4, 2019 at 09:48
Only my oldest son will be disqualified or whole family will be disqualified please help me sir I don’t want to lose this chance
November 4, 2019 at 15:13
Whole family.

Hey Simon. Thanks for your time always.
My simple challenge is that,
My sponsor is paid by a personal cheque and not payslips, and as well she’s not a gov’t worker as she employs herself though she files taxes that can cover up both me and my spouse. She can send me the photo ID and tax returns.
1. Should I proceed with her?
2.if yes, which year of tax returns should she file for me? I am 2020af19***.
3. When do you think will be my interview?
4. I havent received an email of satisfaction yet I submitted my documents on 5th Of Oct.
With Gusto
November 3, 2019 at 16:32
1. Tax records may be a problem for her – choose someone else.
2. Always the most recent.
3. Early 2020
4. They will ask you for documents soon.
November 2, 2019 at 18:07

November 3, 2019 at 17:07
Yes
November 2, 2019 at 18:24
How many affidavit of support forms are there? cos here you speak of i-134 but on the uscis.gove site where i read about affidavit of support it speaks of Form I-864?
https://www.uscis.gov/greencard/affidavit-support
November 2, 2019 at 19:09
For DV, ONLY the I-134 is valid.
November 2, 2019 at 19:26
Yeah just looked up the difference between the two. thank you
November 2, 2019 at 19:37
Still confused.
Form I-134 is the Affidavit of Support that’s used for TEMPORARY or “non-immigrant” visitor visas. If you’re visiting the US as a tourist, student, or for a short business trip, you may be required to submit Form I-134 as a part of your visa application.
Form I-864 is the Affidavit of Support that’s used for PERMANENT or immigrant visas. This form is for people who are coming to live in the United States permanently as green card holders.
November 2, 2019 at 19:48
Why wouldn’t you just assume I know what I am talking about????

Question#1. Can I still apply for the the DV program?
Question#2. I’m currently second year university student and what would be my education level on the Application?

1. Yes
2. Some university

Hey Brit,
Hope everything is good.
CASE # EU24XXX
I got asked for additional documents last month, but had some delay to provide them, as I’m here in LA and don’t have someone anymore in my city of origin.
I know there is not really a deadline, but when do you think would be the latest I should send them, in order to be scheduled as soon as I’m current?
Thank you so much for your time,
Leo
November 2, 2019 at 20:12
A couple of months from now.
November 3, 2019 at 16:09
To be more clear, I don’t think your number could get current in this next VB (January interviews), but I think it might be for February interviews or March most likely. So if the next VB is a big jump (and therefore makes the Feb interviews more likely) then you would send the documents before the end of this month. Otherwise before the end of December to be included for the March interviews.
November 2, 2019 at 20:58
Hi Britsimon. My 3 children are above 21 and unmarried should i write no. Of children as 0

Yes, but it would only affect people that have been in the USA previously and had used some form of public assistance.

Dear brit, hop u r doin well!
I’m Erirean with CASE # 2020AF42*** ,am currently at Ethiopian refugee camp. I came here a month ago. and as most of z selectees did, i got a mail to submit my docs..so i ve those questions based on that.
1. I belive the passport bio-data is also a travel document bio-data which i can get from Ethiopian immigration, right??? and that document is only valid for 6 months after being issued..so if i ask for travel document and be given now to scan and submit it to KCC, it will be invalid during the interview as my case is high (AF42***), so is there any problem if i come to the interview with renewed travel document??
2. Eritrea is one of the countries that don’t allow police certificate to be given for young people like me. so i didn’t bring any police certificate on my way to Ethiopia, and i ve been here in Ethiopia for a month, meaning I can’t get Police Certificate from here too. So am i insisted to submit any Police Certificate along with my docs???if not, shud i justify to KCC why i didn’t submit police certificate??
November 3, 2019 at 16:23
1. That is a very specific scenario – and I don’t know.
2. You must follow the instruction on the reciprocity page. If you cannot – you must show that you tried.
November 2, 2019 at 23:09

Hello Brit,
