Hello Brit! I am a DV2021 selectee. My case number is EU3XXX. My questions are:
1)I am planning to indicate my cousins address as my permanent address and the address that my green card will be shipped to. The issue is I know for a fact that in February she will be moving to another place( still in the US) , which is not yet known. I am planning to submit my DS260 form this week, and I am worried that there could be some problems with processing my application if it happens after February and she won’t be living at that address already.
So what should I write as my permanent address:
a) cousin’s current address and change this address on the interview if it is after February;
b) find another person;
c) wait with my ds260 submission till February;
2) One friend of mine told me that DV selectees are rather frequent victims of identity fraud crime. That someone could steal my green card and use it in malicious purpose. Is this true? And what risks do I take by indicating someone I don’t trust 100%?
Thank you for your assistance 🙂
July 16, 2020 at 00:33
1. A.
2. See 1
July 22, 2020 at 06:40
About the term “permanent address”. is this address an address that will be accesible to you with someone you know and you can trust living there?. or do you actually have to have an intention of living/staying there?
July 22, 2020 at 17:11
Someone that will receive the GC for you.
July 14, 2020 at 21:56
Hi brit! If i’ve submited the documents and my interview is schedule after one year. The only thing that i will have renew for the interview is a new police certificate?
July 15, 2020 at 21:15
Normally, yes
July 14, 2020 at 23:21

Patience.
July 16, 2020 at 19:50
Greeing sir. Please i was not aware of the AILI form to be filled, and my case number is in side AF36000. Please what can i do to fill the form.
July 16, 2020 at 21:06
You don’t need to. There are more than enough plaintiffs.
July 16, 2020 at 05:06
Hello Brit, there’s a statement of department of state that says “In addition, the proclamation explicitly states that cases involving a child applicant who may age out may be considered for a national interest exception.” what does that mean and I’ve also watched a video of an immigration lawyer saying that those are kids getting closer to 21 years of age…… am a DV2020 winner and am 20 years old , does that mean my case might be exempted from Trump’s proclamation ban??? Thank you
July 16, 2020 at 17:57
No. You are a derivative of your parents case or its your own case. If its the latter you don’t age out. . The exception is for family based cases sponsoring children.
July 15, 2020 at 04:00
Hello sir
Suppose I have a visa of Arlington va but I decided to live in Texas for a month only. Is this possible?
July 15, 2020 at 21:20
No one cares where you live. Live where you want.
July 15, 2020 at 04:38
Hi Simon,
I have a question with related to my spouse name while filling up the DS260 where i cannot enter her given names fully as she has 4 name under that, so i can enter up to the middle of the 4th name under given name textbox which has the character limitation. what should I do for this?
July 15, 2020 at 21:20
You will have to shorten the name – use the “other names used section if needed.
July 15, 2020 at 05:38
Hallo Simon,
Just called KCC the other day only for them to tell me DV 2020 has been cancelled, are they also waiting to see if the lawsuit goes through so they can resume ?
July 15, 2020 at 21:24
I can guarantee that they did NOT say DV2020 was cancelled. That is your words, not theirs.
If the lawsuit wins, there could be time to help some remaining cases, but not all.
July 15, 2020 at 21:36
Dear Simon,
No, AF is correct. They gave the same answer to me. They said the DV 2020 program is CANCELED. I asked if they are going to process civil documents. She said the process is not going to continue. I asked what if the proclamation gets modified or changed by some action. She said that won’t happen. She repeatedly said the program is canceled.
July 15, 2020 at 23:30
Again. NO they did NOT say that DV2020 is cancelled. I am 100% sure.
July 16, 2020 at 08:54
Yes they did not say DV 2020 is Cancelled ,but i tink if we pass Sep 30 thats it ,its over for us.
July 16, 2020 at 20:36
Of course.
July 16, 2020 at 19:06
Hi Brit ,they said dv2020 is over due to the banbinb force not that it is cancelled. @emcpk88 and @AF@ should take note. Thanks
July 15, 2020 at 21:50
Here is what I had from US Embassy in Paris
« If you are a Diversity Visa (DV) lottery winner and have either been issued a visa or are waiting for your interview, please be aware that the Presidential Proclamation Suspending Entry of Immigrants and Nonimmigrants Who Present Risk to the U.S. Labor Market During the Economic Recovery Following the COVID-19 Outbreak includes all Diversity Visa holders. As the proclamation will expire on December 31, 2020, all currently issued Diversity Visa holders for this year must reapply for next year’s Diversity Visa lottery.«
Meaning??
July 15, 2020 at 22:32
Well thats clear! Isnt it !
July 15, 2020 at 22:36
Tell me
July 16, 2020 at 11:33
it means you can fill the form for 2022 DV lottery in autumn. It doesn’t mean your case will be rescheduled for the next 2021 or 2022 year
July 15, 2020 at 07:19
Hi Brit,
For DS260, We filled up only one educational institute for principle & spouse since it is bachelor degree which is the higher we have.
Do I have to un-lock the form to add high school details as well?
We understand that we need to add only the higher degree which will qualify both of us.
Appreciate ur help
July 15, 2020 at 21:26
Add all schooling from age 12 and up.
July 15, 2020 at 07:58
Hi simon not sure if you have any info on GReen card holders who have
Moved back to Australia to wait COVID-19 out or at least until the
Numbers drop .another reason apart from the virus the business closed and financially couldn’t stay without income.
Now the question is if you have heard whether there maybe an extension to 12 month return date due to COVID/19 and the current infection death rate in New York.
Thanhs got your time
July 15, 2020 at 21:28
There is no formal extension announced. It is best to return within the 12 months. However, if you cannot do that, then you can apply to the local embassy for an SB-1 returning resident visa. That application would most likely be granted, considering the circumstances.
July 15, 2020 at 08:57
Hi Brit , I am Sammy, 20 years in US with a E1, just won the DV2021, I have some questions about filing the DS.260:
1-Is your mailing address the same as your present address: I am in Italy now where I want to have the interview so should I input my italian address or my US ones?
1b- Do you have an address in the US where you intend to live? I just put mine and mention me as the person living there right?
2- provide information on your last five US visit: do short flight transfer count or only journey longer than a day?
3-were you previously employed. I will be furlough for 2 months and re-employed after that, should I mention my company twice taking out from the count this break?
4-have you served military? I only did 8 months of obligatory service but in an office, does this count?
July 15, 2020 at 23:03
1. Italian one.
1b. Yes
2. Any time you went through immigration in the USA
3. No – list that once.
4. Yes
July 15, 2020 at 23:09
About n. 2 when they ask length of stay should I write few hours?
July 15, 2020 at 23:40
Just tell the truth.
July 16, 2020 at 10:30
about n-3, to better explain , Should I write my company name employed from A to B and another time from C to D meaning B>C is the furlough I am taking now or just mention my company only once employed from A to D?
July 16, 2020 at 20:41
Just use your own judgement. It’s not critical.
July 16, 2020 at 20:54
THANk you!!
July 18, 2020 at 08:39
2- What if you don’t exactly remember the dates those visits were made?. Nor do you have the passport to verify it as they already expired.
July 18, 2020 at 13:36
Give your best recollection.
July 15, 2020 at 09:10
Hi Brit Sammy in US 20 years with an E1 won the DV 2021.
I have some question regarding the DS-5440:
1-Type of Asset. I have an acc. where a parents is conjoined. Should I move these $ on a different acc. owned by me only? Should I put my own company checking acc. or only personal?
2- Point 11 For the purpose of…..> If my health insurance gives medicaid benefit but it is state founded can I answer NO ? (of course before the interview I will apply for an insurance like the one you suggested in your video)
Here some other questions:
3-Once the KCC inform me of the interview date….can I postpone it to months later?
4-If I get denied the green card, can I keep using my E1 visa?
Thank you in advance , your help is EXTREMELY valuable!!!!
July 15, 2020 at 15:53
Dear Brit,
I am sorry for asking idiotic question but this news is disturbing me a lot so, i thought i should ask you- my mentor.
Few days ago, trump said he is seeking to sign a bill for merit based immigration system. Will he cancel dv 2021?
Thank you and sorry again!
July 15, 2020 at 23:19
There is no point trying to comment on things that have not happened yet.
July 15, 2020 at 23:07
1. If it is your money, list it.
2. You should decide – I don’t have the form to hand.
3. That would not be ideal – but you could try.
4. It depends how you process – your questions suggest CP, not AOS, so with CP you can continue using the visa if it is still valid.
July 15, 2020 at 23:12
Thank you ! About n 2 the form ask Have you or any of the individuals applying with you covered by this form requested or received public benefits in the United States from a Federal, state, local, or tribal
government entity on or after February 24, 2020? but I don’t understand if this referred to cash benefit only. For Health insurance they told me that if is state founded they don’t matter so I can answer NO to this one?
July 15, 2020 at 23:41
Again, read the question, answer it.
July 16, 2020 at 10:43
1- sorry but here I mistakenly put 2 questions and I wonder if you answer positively at both.
Queston 1- it’s ok to list a conjoined account or it is better it is only in my name?
question 2- My company checking acc. can be listed as asset as well or it doesn’t count?
July 15, 2020 at 10:23
hi brit,
In the ds260 I listed my mothers “middle name” as it was before her marriage, and in my birth certificate ,i.e after her marriage she doesnt have a middle name i.e she doesnt use one ,so my birth certificate does not have any middle name of my mother….SO my question is while sending scanned documents which I have to send soon, will it have any problem in my processing ?? and if yes then what should I do to fix it
Thank you for your response
July 15, 2020 at 23:09
No problem.
July 17, 2020 at 03:40
hi brit ,
So I don’t need to make a new birth certificate putting my mother’s “middle” name on it ??
The old one without my mothers middle name is okay right ??
July 15, 2020 at 11:45
Hello simon
Im dv2021 selectee. And i hold a b1/b2 visa. As i understood from ur comments that its illegal to travel to the US with the intension to adjust status. So if i travel to the US as a tourist without applying to adjust status. Just to study the market and to check which state best to reside in. And than left back home to wait for the interview!! Is it acceptable?
July 15, 2020 at 23:09
Yes
July 15, 2020 at 14:12
Hi Brit & team,
i am an DV2021 selectee (2021AS7xxx) & effected with the presidential proclamation at least for the end of 2020. i have read somewhere that spouse of a US citizen/LPR, parent of a US citizen child is exempted from the temp. ban proclamation. my wife is LPR & we have a child who is US citizen.
Q1) am i really eligible to this exclusion?
Note: the exclusion in the proclamation is mentioned in sec.2 (a) (i) & (iii):
“Sec. 2. Scope of Suspension and Limitation on Entry.
(a) Section 1 of this proclamation shall not apply to:
(i) any lawful permanent resident of the United States;
(ii) any alien who is the spouse of a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident;
(iii) any alien who is the parent or legal guardian of a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, provided that the U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident is unmarried and under the age of 21;”
July 15, 2020 at 23:17
Make clear which ban you are referring to.
July 16, 2020 at 09:44
i meant the presidential proclamation dining issuance of new immigration visas tell end of the year. DV in particular for instant.
July 16, 2020 at 20:39
I don’t believe that exceptio applies to you, but you can ask the embassy for an interview if you want.
July 15, 2020 at 16:45
Hi Simon, can you enter the DV 2022 after you were selected in the DV 2021? Thanks
July 15, 2020 at 23:20
Yes
July 15, 2020 at 17:31
Hi Simon,
The embassy in Egypt and some others in Europe will postpone the opening of consular sections until 30 September. In purpose ONLY to avoid the DV2020, the exact date when DV2020 ends. So the AILA’s lawsuit wont benefit for anything. Can you inform them so they know whats happening and change the strategy during the hearing in court so they kinda manage this thing too. Its idiotic by the administration to do that, to open after 30 september
July 15, 2020 at 23:21
The choice of whether the embassy will open or not will be up to each embassy, based on local conditions. The lawsuit is not attempting to change that, because this is a safety issue.
July 16, 2020 at 00:17
If what you say it’s true no more doubts this is dedicated to dv2020 winners than just a measure to protect jobs or for safety reasons because of covid19 ??♂️
They could interview by Zoom if they wanted it, waive interviews in some cases and use mail services to send/receive other documents required to review cases. Even if it was an in-person interview is behind a glass, masks or other measures also must be taken in order to protect the health of everyone at the embassies or consulates…there are many ways to do it if they would want it but someone with a bad haircut in charge or others in charge don’t want to and don’t care ?
July 15, 2020 at 17:44
A hope read it, God bless you Simon

July 15, 2020 at 18:23
Good paper !
July 15, 2020 at 20:00
Dear Brit,
Please can you explain regarding this MERIT-BASED Immigration by Trump.
Does it mean to cancel DV2020 or DV2021?
Can the president change the immigration system with only one Executive Order without the approve by the congress .
We are getting surprise every day, we really dont know what to do.
REgards
July 15, 2020 at 23:23
I will not comment on the idiotic things Trump says he will do, until he actually does them.
July 15, 2020 at 23:00
Hi brit
1.I would if my application will affected I request for my ds260 to be unlock for me to make some changes.
2. Will kcc request for my divorce certificate I fill it on my ds260 that I have divorced.
3.if I want change my marital status to single will it affects my application since I can provide the divorce certificate.
July 15, 2020 at 23:39
1. Not normally.
2. Yes
3. Huh? You are either divorced or single. You don’t change that to suit yourself.
July 16, 2020 at 00:24
We divorced in traditional way but we sign divorced certificate and we reunited so is it possible can change it on ds 260 that am married.
July 16, 2020 at 00:36
Honesty is important in this process, as it is to me. You seem to be struggling with that concept.
July 16, 2020 at 00:49
Yes really struggling but since am going to access to ds260 again do think is
1 Advisable to change to single since the marriage was not register to get certificate for that matter if we are divorced now I can provide divorced certificate.
2.leave as it is then when they ask for the certificate I tell them I was an African traditional marriage so we didn’t register to get the certificate.
July 16, 2020 at 17:17
I have no way to help you decide what story to tell.
July 15, 2020 at 23:23
Dear BritSimon!
Thank you for your continuous work , effort and help you are providing us daily and all that for free.
Really appreciate your effort and time. I am a DV2020 Winner (26k CN) from Albania.I have recieved Document Confirmation since 13th of march and waiting for interview date. Sorry for not being informed lately about DV2020 “fate”. I would like to ask your 3 question about DV2020:
1. If AILA wins, does that mean all of us win and are included ? Same question goes for the Curtis Morrison filing against the ban?
2. What are the chances that AILA will fight to extend the deadline for DV2020 further than 30th of September?
3. And if we are lucky enough, Embassies open , AILA wins… what are my chances to get a interview with the CN 26K within the deadline 30th of September?
Once again thank you for your time!
Best Regards,Teo!
July 15, 2020 at 23:43
1. It depends how AILA wins, whether embassies are open, what the state of your case is (ready for scheduling) and so on. But there simply is not enough time for everyone to be helped. Curtis’ case only affects named plaintiffs on his case.
2. Zero %
3. I don’t know.
July 16, 2020 at 04:29
Hi Brit… Since medical reports takes about 14 days.
1. Is there a chance for inclusion to allow KCC TO further process documents until into August to give a chance to as many of us whose documents were delayed by KCC email that had an issue and no 2nl yet.
2. Is it by law to allow 2 months after scheduling?
3. What does KCC mean sending an email that our documents have been sent to the relevant department just before 22nd June. This was after resending several times in June and making several calls over documents processing…
July 16, 2020 at 17:56
1. Maybe – but not in high volume.
2. No – but there are reasons for the timing (medicals, embassy prep, prep of documents)
3. I’m not sure what you mean.
July 16, 2020 at 18:28
Hi Brit haw we can be part of your case. Where we have to sign.
Thank u four every answer. I am a winner of dv-2020 and my cn its 23***
Every thing its ok but we are just wating for 2nl
July 16, 2020 at 21:01
No further plaintiffs are needed.
July 16, 2020 at 00:32
Hi Brit, I’m Ricardo. I just won the DV2021. 2021SA0000076x
I have a question send the information ds260 in which I enter the part of education that finishes school, but I did not know if I should enter the university that studies only a year and a half and does not finish it.
1-What do you recommend, enter the data from the last study that has not yet been completed? or leave it as I sent it after I finish high school.
2-And to modify the ds260 do I have to communicate with Kentucky?
thanks for your time, blessings!
July 16, 2020 at 00:34
1. Enter all education from 12 years old.
2. Yes. In the FAQ
July 16, 2020 at 01:53
Hello Brit,
I was wondering if the lawsuit wins, should I immediately call KCC to get my docs confirmation email as soon as possible because I haven’t get one, and they stopped sending ready for scheduling emails after the EO gets extended.
Thanks.
July 16, 2020 at 01:54
I am sorry I am DV2020 by the way.
July 16, 2020 at 17:52
There would be no harm in trying, BUT given the time remaining the chances of getting scheduled for those not already “ready for scheduling” must be almost gone.

Hi! Sir!, I am a 2019 DV lottery winner. Last October 2019 I went USA and came back to my mother country last 2nd of March 2020. But due to Covid19 I am still in my mother country. If I stay in mother country more than 6 months, then is it a problem to my green card?
July 16, 2020 at 20:36
You can stay out of the country for up to 12 months. Read the FAQ
July 16, 2020 at 10:05
Very good news sir for group 3 you gave me a big hope
but U S Embassy in Cairo announced that they are closed till 30 of September is there any solution for this closing or we have to travel another country to make the interview is that possible
July 16, 2020 at 20:40
No – you cannot travel to wherever is convenient. You would have to ask Cairo for an emergency appointment – but for now, wait.
July 16, 2020 at 12:49
Hi Brett When will the response to the call that will be made tomorrow be on Resolution 22/6
July 16, 2020 at 20:45
Huh?
July 16, 2020 at 12:50
Dear Brit,
I am am a DV2020 winner and had a cancelled interview on April.
I am also a DV2021 winner with a CN EU5000.
Two weeks ago i filled the DS260 and today received the email for documents.
Please can you advise what to do?
Should i send the documents?
Does this create some issue fo the DV2020 if there will be a successful result from AILA?
Regards
July 16, 2020 at 20:46
Send the documents. No problem.
July 16, 2020 at 15:25
Hi Brit,
I’ve watched your last two videos, and want to thank you for all the great job you are doing. You and Sm1smom are the best!
I’m dv2020 doing my AOS in the US, waiting to be invited for biometrics and interview (fingers crossed). My wife is abroad (at home country) and we suppose to do the follow to join process. My question I guess is: if I get approved here in the US, will she be prioritized for her interview among the others? I know that we are running out of the time, and it also depends on the embassy reopening and the lawsuit result, but I want to see if we have a chance. Thank you in advance!
July 16, 2020 at 20:48
I don’t know.
July 16, 2020 at 15:43
Hi Brit,
i had been in Qatar with working visa and its 12 years earlier. now should i send police clearance from Qatar or i can submit at the time of interview as it take time to make police clearance from Qatar due to pandemic. please response my query
July 16, 2020 at 20:48
Have you read the instructions? If so – follow them.
July 16, 2020 at 16:51
Good day sir,
I’ve filled and submitted form ds260 for a month and more but haven’t heard anything for kcc on how to forward my supporting documents, should i call or write them or excercise patients?
Secondly, the highest qualification i have is HND (higher national diploma) which is the only qualification i put as the highest qualification according to the question.
Please am i in order?
July 16, 2020 at 20:51
1. Yes – be patient.
2. I don’t know where you live, or the education requirements in that country.
July 16, 2020 at 17:58
Hi Brit, how are you?
Any news regarding August visa bulleting that was supposed to come out today?
July 16, 2020 at 20:54
Patience.
July 16, 2020 at 19:05
Hello dear Simon. Just today I recieved this email from KKC. Thank you for submitting your Diversity Visa documents to the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC). After reviewing your documents, KCC has determined that you have not yet provided sufficient documentation that you meet the passport requirement. Please review the information below and verify that you have submitted all requested documentation.
Beginning with entrants in DV2021, each DV entry must include the passport number, country or authority of issuance, and expiration date for the principal applicant’s valid, unexpired passport. If the passport used by the principal applicant to enter the DV program differs from the one currently being submitted, you should also include a photocopy of the principal applicant’s passport listed on the DV entry with a written explanation for the change to KCC. If you requested an exemption from the passport requirement at entry, you should provide an explanation of your qualifications for the exemption you requested. Actually i have attached old passport too. I just wonder why they sent it to me? Please your advice is highly appcetiated.
July 16, 2020 at 21:03
Check the documents carefully and send again.
July 16, 2020 at 21:17
I read this from what you posted.
“you should also include a photocopy of the principal applicant’s passport listed on the DV entry with a written explanation for the change to KCC.”
July 16, 2020 at 21:24
Yes. True i have sent it actually with requaried documents but don’t know what they did not check it. So i will send it again seperately maybe. Thanks.
July 16, 2020 at 21:26
Hello,
I also received it.
Please be careful in: “…. with a written explanation for the change to KCC”.
Maybe we should also write a statement in way to describe the reason why the passport are not the same.
Regards
July 16, 2020 at 21:31
Yes. I wrote and explained it. Because my passport was running out of pages but perhaps they did not read ot or so. A bit confused.
July 17, 2020 at 18:41
DEAR ESI. TODAY I CALLED KKC AND TOLD THEM RENEWED PASSPORT ISSUE. THEY SAID THAT WE NEED TO SEND EXPLANATION AS AN ATTACHMENT. SO WRITE CONVERT IT INTO PDF AND SEND IT TO THEM.

July 17, 2020 at 04:55
Hi. My case number is 30xx.
July 17, 2020 at 18:02
I had this same issue Ramin, did you renew your passport recently? the passport number used to apply for the DV lottery in 2019 should be used when filling the DS260 form, especially if it is not yet expired. Ask them to unlock your DS260 form and see what passport information you entered. Send them copies of both passport biographic page with explanation.
My issue was that i renewed by passport in June 2020 since it would have expired in November 2020. I entered my renewed passport number on my DS260. However, i got that exact email saying i did not fulfill the passport requirements. I messaged KCC and they informed me that i should enter the passport number i used when applying for the DV Lottery since the passport is not yet expired.
I tried my best to be as clear as possible, hope this helps. You can also email them [email protected] for more clarification.

Hi Simon
You said that Trump’s April 22nd ban could also affect dv2021 winners if not challenged successfully in court, how they will be affected ?! the deadline of the ban is on December /31/ 2020. Doesn’t the process of schedualing for dv2021 start in early January 2021 ?
July 16, 2020 at 23:09
No. October 1. So there would be three whole months lost.
July 16, 2020 at 22:03
Hi Simon
I am from Nigeria and my wife is Russian, we both live in England.
I hold both Nigeria and British citizenships however my Nigerian passport has expired for over 2years now but my British passport is still current. I did indicate correctly that I am Nigeria by birth in our original DV2021 lottery application.
It takes a long time to get a new Nigerian passport in London, can I use my British passport as my main travel document for the DS260 form and just include the expire Nigerian passport formally or do I need to get a new/current Nigerian passport before submitting the form?
Thanks
July 16, 2020 at 23:09
Use either passport.

Hello Mr Simons, I received this email from KCC is there any chance (Your DS-260 has been processed. You should have received, or will soon receive, an email from the Kentucky Consular
Center giving you instructions to complete in order for your case to continue processing. Please follow the instructions in
the email. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing. Interviews for
the DV 2020 program will begin in October 2019 and conclude on September 30, 2020. Please refer to the visa bulletin at

Good evening Simon, I am in need of help, I tell you: I am the DV-2021 Winner and I still have not sent my DS 260 because my partner is pregnant we are expecting a Baby that is born in early December, I and my partner are not married because she was unable to divorce her previous partner, what should she do 1 Do I wait until December when my child is born or do I send my DS 260 and unlock it to add it? 2 Will I marry my partner after she divorces and fill out the DS 260 including her as well and if this would not be taken as a marriage to match since we would marry after the results of the winners of DV 2021 came out?
July 17, 2020 at 04:18
1. Wait, yes – see 2
2. Yes if she can divorce and marry you, then you can include her on your case. I would do that and THEN submit.
July 17, 2020 at 23:51
My case number is 2021SA17XX. Do you think I would have time to wait to send my DS 260?
July 17, 2020 at 04:58
Hello there,
Can I ask a general question of any OC followers for DV 2020?
Is there anyone in the OC region who had their visa re-issued and has since manage to fly to the USA for their activation trip? I’d really like to hear about the process (especially regarding the activation trip and exemption for travel from the Department of Home Affairs in Australia.)
Thanks,
Jean

Dear Simon
My case number is 2021AF00019xxx, suppose the process of scheduling starts on January 1st 2021 due to April 22nd ban , will I have chance to get scheduled?
July 17, 2020 at 18:44
Yes
July 17, 2020 at 15:31
Hi Brit,
This is regarding SSN. I recently came to US. I Visited ssn local office and It’s closed. When I called, they said to process ssn now we need to attend to a in- person interview but it will only be arranged upon a job offer or similar urgent requirement. Otherwise it will get delayed. I know someone who waited 3 months and finally arrange a in-person interview through a job offer and got the ssn.
Do you have any idea about this process ? Kindly help me..
July 17, 2020 at 18:48
You should follow their instruction and if needed get a job offer to make it urgent.
July 17, 2020 at 15:49
Hello mr brits,
I’m a winner of dvlottery 2021, i’ve filled and submitted ds260 form since june 12 but i haven’t heard from kcc up till now on when and how to submit my supporting documents, do i write, call or excercise patience till they get back to me? My case number starts from AF00026….
On educational qualification, they asked for the highest qualification which is the only thing i put there, HND (Higher national diploma) do i need to add the ones i obtained before this one?
Regards,
July 17, 2020 at 19:06
Be patient.
They ask for all secondary education (which means from age 12 and up).
July 17, 2020 at 18:23
Dear Brit,
Please, how many lawsuits for the DV Lottery are going to the Court?
Is the same lawsuit of AILA with the Charles Kuck or they are different?
Regards
July 17, 2020 at 19:10
There are several different lawsuits.
July 17, 2020 at 19:03
Hello ,
I fill out the form DS 260, but i didn’t enter my work e-mail address, I enter only my personal e-mail. Is this wrong , or I must contact KCC for adding?
Thank you in advance
July 17, 2020 at 19:12
If the email is publicly available, you should add it.
July 17, 2020 at 20:10
Hi Brit.. I have the same problem. I have a email I use purposely for google services such as play store downloads and subscriptions services I don’t trust.
I didn’t add that email in my ds- 260 form. I used my personal email and secured email for it. Can that be a problem?
July 17, 2020 at 21:12
Correct the form.
July 17, 2020 at 21:28
Thanks. I have sent the unlocking request. I hope that won’t prolong the processing time?
July 17, 2020 at 22:55
Hi Simon,
The KCC have sent me an email to request my documents however I need send a request to unlock my DS-260 to make some minor changes. Once I’ve made those changes do I need to wait for a second email requesting documents or I just use the original one they sent me?
Is there a limit as to how many times you can have the DS unlocked ( this would be my second ) or if the changes are like adding in email addresses etc I can do that at the interview?
Thanks so much!
Sophia 🙂
July 17, 2020 at 23:01
No need to wait to be asked – but don’t send documents if they haven’t changed.
No number of unlocks limit exists.
July 18, 2020 at 18:45
Hello Simon, if the domain of the email address is a private company but is theoretically available to anyone (and its use is strictly professional) should i add it to the DS260 too?
Thank you
July 18, 2020 at 20:31
Yes
July 17, 2020 at 19:06
Dear Simon,
Firstly, Thank you for all the assistance in helping us through this journey. It is highly appreciative.
1.) I have a dilemma with regards to our unabridged marriage certificate. I currently have an abridged marriage certificate available from our priest when we were married in May 2009. I have applied for our unabridged marriage certificate and birth certificates in January 2020 and received our birth certificate but our unabridged marriage certificate will take a while for them to pull the records in Pretoria, ZA. Then in March we went in lock down and homeaffairs indicated that they can only help us when South Africa is in level 2. My number is AF44000 I guess I may have a bit of time, however if KCC request for documents can I send them the abridged version of our marriage certificate, and hopefully by the interview show our unabridged document when we receive it from home affairs?
2.) Also on another query if I am the principle member and I have my senior certificate would my wife also need to have this certificate to prove her high school equivalency, currently I have her degree certificates available. To get her senior certificate will surmount to a considerable amount of time to obtain this from our government departments?
July 17, 2020 at 19:17
1. Send what you have, but work to get a replacement copy.
2. Only the principal selectee needs to prove education.
July 17, 2020 at 22:05
Hello Brit,
please can DV visa holders already transit through europe to enter the USA?
July 17, 2020 at 22:57
At the moment – NO that would not be OK. You must find another route.
July 18, 2020 at 00:11
Hi Brit, I was selected in DV 2021. My case number is between 700 and 800 in south america.
I ´ve filled DS260 form in May, but my passport is expiring next september, due to pandemic I couldn´t process a new one before filling the form.
Before filling DS260 form I sent and e-mail to KCC telling them about the date of expiration of my passport and they told me that I can ask them to open DS260 form to update it with my new passport number.
I have received KCC mail to send pdf documents, I dont send anything yet because I´m waiting to my passport issuing appointment next 24th july.
After watching your videos I was thinking I should have waited until obtain my new passport to fill DS260 form. What do you think?
July 18, 2020 at 02:08
Overthinking.
July 18, 2020 at 05:39
