Hi Simon, Many thanks for amazing work, God will continue blessing you for endless efforts to assist us.
I”m Fidel from Angola Cabinda province .I”m Dv2020 selectee group 5 CN AF3xxx. I have been submitted my DS260 form and documents also for each family member and I received confirmation but so far I did not receive 2NL yet.
Question: I would like to know if I have a chance to benefit 9095 reserved visas ?
October 18, 2020 at 04:59
I can’t predict it with any certainty. Your number appears low, but there are a lot of factors that may be considered. Wait and see.
October 18, 2020 at 05:40
Thank you Sir for your answer
October 19, 2020 at 14:31
Please i want u to review my picture, where can I send you thst

Hi Britt please advise if I can wear a wig in the photo taken for my DV lottery application I have hair problem will that get me disqualified?
October 18, 2020 at 04:36
You will have to decide for yourself. They may accept that with signed statement from a doctor.
October 18, 2020 at 05:05
Hello Mr. Simon, I hope you are doing well.
I have a question about the photo background. I have my photo background light blue, might it be a problem in future if i will be selected?
October 18, 2020 at 23:07
Depends how blue it is. The instructions are very clear, as a matter of interest, why did you not follow them?
October 18, 2020 at 05:24
Hi brit, I went to Pakistan 3 years ago so, Do I need a police certificate of that country for the interview because I have already received the Doc confirmation email.
October 18, 2020 at 23:08
What does it say in the instructions?
October 18, 2020 at 07:21
Hello Mr Simon.
I won DV 2021. My wife name is wrong at first origin entry about one extra words and double last name eg. Correct name is esther win williams. I incorrectly filled naw esther win williams williams. Is that could be problem? And would like to know visa processing interview is open or suspended due to covid-19?
October 18, 2020 at 23:09
1. Minor name problems are usually OK if there are no fraud concerns.
2. Interviews are suspended at the moment – due to COVID and the ban.
October 18, 2020 at 09:18
Hello Simon
Its been a while since I visited your website. I hope everything is going well for you!
1. I’m Dv2021 winner AF42***. I’m still holding back myself from submitting the Ds260 .. Am I taking a risk???
2. A friend of mine has two countries passport. One by birth the other by choice. Will he be disqualified if he enters dv2022 twice using those passports?
Thank you!
October 18, 2020 at 23:09
1. No
2. I hope so.
October 20, 2020 at 07:10

October 18, 2020 at 23:12

October 18, 2020 at 11:04

October 18, 2020 at 17:58
Hello, Does applying for the Diversity Visa affect the chances of applying for the H1B work visa since applying for the DV might conflict with respect to intent to migrate. The applicant has graduated with a US masters degree and is currently working in a US company in a job that a SVP of above 7. The applicant here is born in a country that is eligible for the DV. The applicant also has a completed the high school education requirements. If selected in the DV, by the time of the interview the applicant would also have 2 years experience in a ONet job with SVP above 7. Since there is a limited time for DV application, would sincerely appreciate your feedback.

Hello Brit, I am Venezuelan dv2020 group 5, but I will apply to dv2022, my passport has an extension that is not expired (expires on November 8, 2020) should I put that date or the extra 5 years? I have doubts with this
October 18, 2020 at 23:20
That date – unless the system rejects it. Try.
October 18, 2020 at 18:46
Hi. Can I send other documents via e mail other than police clearance for the current period. Which can be submitted in the interview with the explanation. Advise me pz
October 18, 2020 at 23:21

October 19, 2020 at 18:23

Seek your kind response
October 19, 2020 at 23:50
They ask for documents and provide a list. Obviously you must send all documents they require.

Hi Simon, I am applying for dv2022 via the eligibility of being born in Northern Ireland. I put Northern Ireland as country of birth however I am confused when it comes to the passport selection option. It gives the option for Northern Ireland passport and UK passport. My Passport is a UK passport that says “United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland”. Which one do I select? Don’t want to put the wrong thing down and be disqualified for another year’s wait. I have searched the website and FAQs and couldn’t find an answer. Hope you can help, Kelly
October 18, 2020 at 23:23
The passport is unimportant, just list it correctly (FULLY).
October 18, 2020 at 21:06
Hi Simone
My case number 2021AS00004xxxI have submitted my DS260 and documents to KCC. My children passports will expire by July, I will not be able to do my interview with 6 months validity with passports, so can I renew the passports and show the old and new passports in the interview or do I need to unlock my DS260 and send all documents again with the new and old passports?!
Thank you for your help.
October 18, 2020 at 23:24
Renew and take old and new to the interview.
October 18, 2020 at 21:46
Hi brit
I’m 2020 selectee submitted my ds260 yet I have not heard from kcc and I emailed them and they said they have closed 2020 fiscal year. I don’t understand because I am in ground 5
October 18, 2020 at 23:25
What don’t you understand? This is normal. The only difference this year is the lawsuit, but of course the government are not changing their procedures until told to do so.
October 18, 2020 at 22:28
Hi Brit I hope you are doing fine. Sir I am a dv2021 winner c#32k and I have few questions to ask;
1. I played as single and I winner and I desided to add my wife because we got married last year, Dec. 21, 2019. And I have alread added her to my case on the ds260 form last month but we have not submit the form yet. We were planning to submit it on the 21 of this month Oct. Now here is the problem my wife said that she is no longer interested in the dv program she want to travel to the State and she won’t even on for interview, so is there mean to remove her from my case because we have submitted the ds260 form and even submitted can it be unlock to remove her ? Please I am confuse and don’t know what to do and do want to lose this chance
October 18, 2020 at 23:26
You cannot remove her DS260. But you can proceed on your own if you want.
October 19, 2020 at 05:56
Thanks sir for the response!
Please I will like to understand something here from you response ;
1. Should I proceed with single on my own or on my own ?
2. Or if I process with married on my ds260 form will she been needed on the day of the interview ?
October 19, 2020 at 21:57
You are married. You can’t lie. So you are married but will not include your spouse in the process. She will not attend the interview.
October 20, 2020 at 05:11
Thanks Brit for the response!
Meaning since my wife is no longer interested in the program no need to submit her ds260 and only my ds260 I need to submit ?
October 21, 2020 at 16:34
Thanks Brit for the response!
Meaning since my wife is no longer interested in the program no need to submit her ds260 and only my ds260 I need to submit right ?
October 19, 2020 at 00:33
Dear Simon. Thanks a million for your incredible webpage. I have submitted my entry to the 2022 lottery and hold thumbs for a positive outcome in May next year. In the mean time, I am starting to gather my paperwork. In particular I have a question about police clearance certificates. It could take 6 to 9 months to get hold of one from my birth country, South Africa as I live in Australia. When submitting the police clearance certificate at the interview, must it be less than 3 months old? This is a genuine concern, as I realise that I need to apply for the police certificate now if I want to have one ready for the interview, should I be a lottery winner. Any advice would be highly appreciated. Kind regards, Susan
October 19, 2020 at 04:13
It’s a lottery so wait till you get selected before worrying about police certificate.
October 19, 2020 at 21:11
A police cert can be accepted up to 1 year old.
October 19, 2020 at 00:44
Dear sir my son turns 21 on november 10, the day the dv lottery closes. He is an international student on a student visa in the US can he apply on his own? And will this negatively impact his student visa?
October 19, 2020 at 21:12
He can apply on his own.
Applying doesn’t affect anything.
October 19, 2020 at 00:54
Hi Brit!
which number is called as a beginning of high case number in egypt. My number is 37K .
October 19, 2020 at 21:13
It isn’t a finite thing, and I don’t know the max Egypt case number.
October 19, 2020 at 07:33
I am winner of DV2021… due to current political circumstances and COVID I decided to submit again for the program DV2022 just in case (DV2021 delayed again, cancelled, trump wins and puts another hold, Biden wins and opens it up for more countries and reduces chances of high number winners, etc you never know) … would this risk my current DS260 of the DV2021 application?
October 19, 2020 at 22:20
No
October 19, 2020 at 09:14
Dear Brits,
My Case number is AS25xxx, I have completed the D-260 form and submitted in June 2020. And I got the following message
“Next Steps
All Diversity Visa applicants must:
1. Obtain required supporting civil documents.
2. Obtain photographs that meet the Department of State’s visa requirements.
3. Review the information specific to the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General where your visa interview will occur.
You do not need to submit any documentation to the Kentucky Consular Center. The KCC will review your application and will
notify you if any of the information you have provided is insufficient or incomplete. Your DS-260 application will be kept on file
with KCC until a visa number is available for you and your case can be scheduled.”
According to this, do I need to submit scanned documents or not? And still I have not any notification to submit the documents.
Please give your opinion in this regard.
October 19, 2020 at 22:31
You will be asked to submit documents. But your number is high so you won’t need to do that for some months.
October 19, 2020 at 10:26
Hello Brit,
Hope you are doing great.
I am a DV2021 winner with CN 2021AS269**.
I have submitted my DS260 since mid June but still did not get an email from KCC requesting the documents.
1- Is it normal to take that much time to send the email requesting the documents?
2- I was born and is living in Lebanon, do I need to translate the documents from Arabic to English before sending them, and if yes do I send both the originals and the translated ones?
3- Is my CN too high, do I have a chance of getting visa?
Thanks a lot for all your efforts and God bless you.
October 19, 2020 at 22:34
1. Yes. Your number is high so there is no need to send documents this soon. Patience.
2. You really need to read and understand the instructions. This question would be unnecessary if you had done so.
3. It depends on several factors including the election. All you can do is wait and see.
October 19, 2020 at 22:42
Hi sam. Im from lebanon too. Can i have ur email address?
October 19, 2020 at 10:57
Hi Simon,
2021AS38XX
At an interview, does the CO or embassy require to see a valid status in the country? My status is valid here in UAE until mid January 2021; I am positive that I’ll be current in the upcoming November bulletin (so that I can be interviewed in January) but for whatever reason if it is scheduled in late January or February, is it a problem if my status is expired for 0.5-1 month? Is that a negative factor?
Regards
October 19, 2020 at 22:34
For UAE, I don’t know.
October 19, 2020 at 11:03
Hi Simon, How are you man?
could you please tell me with the bans being blocked(travel and immigration) what am I supposed to do since I have not received the 2NL yet?! As I mentioned before I am an Iranian winner with this case number “AS4xx”, shall I send an email to KCC and ask for my interview time as the cases under 1300 in Asia are current till now?
October 19, 2020 at 22:35
Assuming you have already been asked to send documents and you have, you now just have to wait.
October 19, 2020 at 11:08
Hi Britsimon,
Am Peter Yak, with case 2021AF93xx.
1. Does it cause problem if my documents size did not reach 20MB, but instead 156k. If I send them like that, will it be an issue on term size not reaching 20MBor 30MB
October 19, 2020 at 22:35
No
October 19, 2020 at 11:43
Hi Simon,
I hope you’re having a great day!
Can I know for obtaining a police certificate, what’s considered as “residing in a country for more than 12 months”? Does it have to be continuous or as a total? E.g., for me, I lived in the UK for 9 months, 5 months, and then 4 months in separate times. Is it considered as more than 12 months?
Thanks a lot!
October 19, 2020 at 22:37
If in doubt, get the police cert.
October 19, 2020 at 12:38
Hi Brit,
I can’t a police certificate from UAE, what should I write to KCC when sending the documents ?
Is there any additional formula for the email or just scanned and named documents?
October 19, 2020 at 22:41
1. Quote the reciprocity page instructions.
2. https://britsimonsays.com/document-procedure-modification/
October 19, 2020 at 13:19
Hi,
If my photo is once confirmed while filling EDV, could there be any problem in future regarding that photo if I won a lottery?
October 19, 2020 at 22:41
Please be more clear.
October 19, 2020 at 14:28
Dear Simon. I won for DV2021 and am processing my application. I am getting married on Saturday to take my future husband with (with any luck). Are we allowed to enter the DV lottery again this month for DV2022, or since I won it already, am I disqualified from entering again? It might seem unusual that I would want to enter again… or want for my fiancé to enter again. I just thought if something goes wrong this time around, we could have a second chance. Obviously, I am doing everything in my power to get it right the first time. Thanks, Kate
October 19, 2020 at 22:43
Anyone can enter.
October 19, 2020 at 16:57
Hello Simon
Can you confirm if the ONLY photo tool that should be used is from the US Govt own website? As opposed to these,
http://www.egreencardphoto.com/step1
https://www.greencardphotocheck.com/en/
https://visafoto.com/
I have tried the ones above, and they produce slightly different variants of the same photo…
Thanking you in advance.
October 19, 2020 at 23:48
No – I have not said that you must ONLY use the official site. You can use other sites, such as the ones above, and I just created a video reviewing those three sites.
October 19, 2020 at 18:29
Dear Brit!
Thank you very much for your kind and such a significant support to all who participate. God bless you for all your help!
My father, 70 years old, was born in the USSR (place of birth in Russia nowadays), but for the past 40 years he has lived in Kazakhstan and has it’s citizenship. Even though that he doesn’t have any ties in Russia anymore, does he still have to put Russia as the eligibility country instead of Kazakhstan? I know you explained about exceptions via marriage. That would work if my mother would still be alive (she was born in Kazakhstan). What would you recommend? If he puts eligibility country – Russia and wins, could that create any possible problems or inconveniences during further procedures being in Kazakhstan?
October 19, 2020 at 23:52
It is an inconvenience being disqualified for not following the rules. The rules are, eligibility is place of birth. He should list that.
October 19, 2020 at 18:31
Hi Simon I hope are you and your family are doing well, please I need your help,I and my ex wife won family dv21 with two different case numbers,I have my case number and she has her own different case number but we got divorced before the lottery result came out,sir if one person fill the DS-260 on marital status as perious spouse(divorced) and the other fill the DS-260 as married.what are chances for each of us to have a visa.thanks for your time
October 19, 2020 at 23:54
Well either you are divorced or you are not. If you are divorced, the person saying they are married is a liar.
October 20, 2020 at 04:53
Sir we are legally divorced,we have the divorce certificate
October 19, 2020 at 18:34
Greetings Simon, how many days does KCC take to unlock ds-260
October 19, 2020 at 23:54
It varies from a few days to a couple of weeks.
October 19, 2020 at 19:26
Hello Simon, I am Johnboscoh From Kenya aged 35yrs, I would want to apply, I am married though not legally with 3 kids, what should I select in Marriage status? Kindly advice on this because I would not want to waste a lot of time on application if this will disqualify me.
October 19, 2020 at 23:55
If you are not legally married, you are not married. You can each enter as unmarried and each of you (yourself and your spouse) should include your children.
October 19, 2020 at 19:29
Hello, Britsimon
a.Am in Europe ,I will be leaving to my country in Africa, can I fill the Dv lottery or should I wait before I get to my country, am thinking of leaving 28 or 30
b.a friend of mine is dv 2021 winner, when he filled the dv lottery he was able to complete his medical degree 2021, so in selected university degree, thus that after his dv 2021 process.
October 19, 2020 at 19:31
He was about to finish is medical degree in 2021*
October 19, 2020 at 23:56
I think you are asking if you can enter from Europe. Yes of course you can.
October 20, 2020 at 06:43
But sir, there would be any problem entering from Europe and then travel to Africa?
And how about my friend who registered as a degree holder when he had some months left to complete university will there be a problem ?
October 20, 2020 at 20:21
No problem in either case
October 19, 2020 at 19:55
Hi Brit,
If there is a one-day difference between a derivative’s DOB on the passport and birth certificate, is this grounds for disqualification?
October 19, 2020 at 23:57
Not normally, no.
October 19, 2020 at 20:56
Hi Simon
I’m dv 2021 winner nevertheless, I doubt the photo I uploaded on e entry was not accepted or received; because it kept appearing and disappearing when I uploaded . They don’t select people when there is something wrong with their information including the photo, do they ?
October 19, 2020 at 23:59
If you got the confirmation number, you are fine.
October 19, 2020 at 21:06
Good afternoon Sir,
Will we see a visa bulletin for this month?
Thanks Sir
October 19, 2020 at 23:59
Yes
October 19, 2020 at 21:15
Hello Brit, 2019 winner here 🙂
I have a question regarding DV 2022. My family lives in a country where passport issuance(renewal) isn’t allowed unless a proof of a visa/flight ticket is presented due to “passport shortage”. When reading the instructions, the passport waiver reason that makes the most sense is the communist-ruled country choice but the country they live in isn’t considered a “Communist” in the literal sense even if it refuses to renew passports. Would that still be a valid choice for not providing their passport info? What else would you suggest?
Thank you!!
October 20, 2020 at 00:00
Don’t enter without a valid passport.
October 19, 2020 at 21:17
Hi Simon,
When i tried to submit the DV 2022 entry form there occured a site error and i didn’t even see the “success page”. I filled the form and submited again. Is it going to be treated as a multiple entry or the first form didn’t count?
Thank you in advance
October 20, 2020 at 00:00
No
October 19, 2020 at 21:20
Hi Simon
I an a DV2021 Winner, during applying I filled my children details and they are American citizens, now they are listed in my DS260 page as an applicants and unfortunately I can’t fill a form for each of then as they aren’t immigrants and USA is not listed in the nationality field in the their DS260. I believe and know I should not fill a form for then but definitely KCC will not process my case me unless all applicant forms are filled, completed, and submitted. What shall I do in this case??
October 20, 2020 at 00:00
Don’t complete a DS260 for them. Just that.
October 20, 2020 at 10:17
Thank you for your reply
I have submitted the DS260 sense June 18 and until now don’t receive the documents request email. I got to know that KCC will not start process the case till all family applicant DS260 forms are filled and submitted.
This the reason makes my worry.
October 20, 2020 at 20:38
All you have to do is email them.
October 19, 2020 at 21:21
hey i would like to ask you about my situation , my case number is between 40k and 47k ”2021 winner” and i didn’t get the email yet for sending documents, should i wait or i have to send them?
October 20, 2020 at 00:01
Wait
October 19, 2020 at 23:53
I m not releated to any lawsuit…bt i m the winner of dv 2020 with case no.129** from nepal.what i want to know, is there is still hope for further process or not??As i m non plaintiff that 9095 visa gives me priority or not??
October 20, 2020 at 07:43
Dear Brit. Case Number AF13xxx. DS-260 submitted mid June. No email received yet for documents submission. Can I go ahead and submit?
October 20, 2020 at 20:30
You are better off waiting. No interviews are being arranged at the moment and your case number is not current – so why be impatient?
