Hi, I am a DV Lottery 2022 entrant, my question is how much money am I required to have should i win and what’s the best way to secure a host and a mailing address in the USA? Thanks.
November 16, 2020 at 21:36
You entered a lottery. You have not been selected yet – so it is pointless to be concerned with questions at this time.
November 16, 2020 at 13:28
1. Could we expect the final order from Judge in Dec. 2020 ?
2. Could you explain why court takes so long time for final hearing ?
3. Is there any chance to go upper court after final order ?
November 16, 2020 at 21:36
1. Probably later.
2. No
3. If appealed, yes.
November 19, 2020 at 14:36
When was your interview scheduled on ??I am also from Nepal.
November 16, 2020 at 16:30
How can I fill DS-1810 Selective Service form?
Will anyone guide me?
November 16, 2020 at 21:38
You complete the application online at SSS.gov – but only once you are in the USA.
November 16, 2020 at 17:59
WHAT THAT IS MEAN ?
Congratulations! Our records indicate that your case is ready to be scheduled for an interview when your case number becomes current and appointments are available. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on region and which case numbers have already been processed.
All DV 2021 interviews must be concluded by September 30, 2021. Please refer to the visa bulletin at travel.state.gov to locate the current numbers being processed. This bulletin is updated after the 15th day of each month. Once an interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via the email address listed on your DS-260 to check dvlottery.state.gov for details.
If your case becomes current and you have not received notification to check dvlottery.state.gov, you may contact [email protected] to confirm all of your documents have been received, and you are ready to be scheduled for an interview. This notice does not necessarily confirm that all your documents have been received or are acceptable.
This notice is not a guarantee of receiving a visa or a visa interview. KCC is a document processing facility and does not make adjudicatory decisions.
Important Notice on Missing Documents: You will need to bring all necessary documents to your interview, especially if you have not already provided them to KCC. You do still have time to provide documents to KCC, or an explanation of why a document is not available. As a general rule, any document that is listed as “available” on the country-specific guidelines must be reviewed by a consular officer during your interview. Failure to obtain all required documents will delay your case. If you claimed any of the exemptions to the passport requirement when you submitted your initial entry you must provide documentation or a statement supporting your claim to an exemption.
November 16, 2020 at 21:39
Ready to be scheduled once your number is current and KCC/the embassy are scheduling.
November 17, 2020 at 18:31
Hello AF
If you don’t mind please let me know how long did it take to get document confirmation after submitting the documents. And ur case no comes in which visa bulletin.
We are still waiting for the document confirmation mail
November 17, 2020 at 19:19
Processing times vary by case and with the workload that KCC has. So – it is unpredictable.
November 16, 2020 at 19:19
Hello Brit,
I am owning grin card from December 2018. Since that I visited to US every 6 month, but my last visit was there on Dec 2019, and I locked in my country Armenia almost a year because of Covid’s difficulties and military situation (last two months all men under age 55 were officially not allowed to leave the country).
I am planning to move US next week.
Do you think chances are ver low for me to re-enter, or the justification related to Covid could be strong for this kind of situations in general?
Do you think mentioning the military situation might not be a good idea?
November 16, 2020 at 21:41
Under 12 months absence is not a problem.
You won’t be asked many questions. Just relax and be truthful.
November 16, 2020 at 21:52
Thank You. I appreciate your valuable feedback!!
November 16, 2020 at 21:30
Dear Mr.BritSimon
Trust all is well for you
My case number is 2021AS18xxx from afghanistan, i have recieved KCC Email just yesterday, asking me for submitting my documents, including police certificate.
May i ask you to look at this part of kcc email please Sir?
Police Certificates: If you are 16 years of age or older, you must submit a scanned copy of a police certificate from all countries you have lived in using below criteria:
If you Have ever lived in another country for 12 months or more and were 16 years or older at the time THEN submit a police certificate from The country where you used to live.
1: my question is, that i have been graduated from pune university India, in 2011 about 9 years ago, and i have been there in India for 4 years, should i go to india for police certificate ?
2: what is the deadline for submitting the documents after recieving email?
Thanks
November 16, 2020 at 21:59
1. It’s frustrating when people ask questions that are answered in the offcial instructions. Please read the instructions.
2. No deadline.
November 18, 2020 at 00:00
How is it possibile that i have a lower number 2021 eu 15xxx and i haven’t recivied any email from kcc and othe people like hadi has recivied the email?
November 18, 2020 at 01:33
Because the whole region is not expected to wait until your processing is completed.
November 18, 2020 at 13:09
What does that mean? In Afghanistan there is not a ban like in europe? thanks
November 18, 2020 at 15:35
It means that other people may have submitted forms earlier than you, or be processed faster than you based on your occupation, country of travels and so on. So – other cases can be processed before you.
November 17, 2020 at 17:58
Hi Hadi, your Case Number is 18K ? May I ask when did you submit your DS-260?
November 17, 2020 at 21:43
Hadi,
When did you submit your ds-260? We are too close…
November 19, 2020 at 23:37
India does not issue PCC for non indians living abroad. Check reciprocity rules
November 17, 2020 at 01:18
No, that would not happen.
November 17, 2020 at 03:17
Well an airline (that would be the people to “deny boarding”) would have no knowledge of or interest in the DV pending application – so there is clearly some confusion in that story.
November 17, 2020 at 19:14
Utter bullshit.
November 17, 2020 at 19:57
why’ve you taken this so personally and lashed out at britsimon
no reason to lash out at Britsimon on his own site
and then have have a go at him personally, degrading him
he wasnt actually having a go it you personally, was he other than saying “utter b/s”
COME ON …, who is the unprofessional here?
November 17, 2020 at 22:16
LOL. I have been explaining dual intent/non dual intent visas probably since you were in short trousers. I had an H1B visa which is one of a small list of dual intent visas. I understand that whole topic completely – I assure you. I don’t know why you think this is especially “unknown” information. It isn’t.
My point is that having a DS260 submitted affects new visa applications NOT existing visa applications, and airlines are not privvy to DS260 applications being made, and CBP have no process to deny boarding of passengers based on a pending DS260 because, again, that is a problem for an application, not for entry.
There is more to the story, you may not know it. But regardless of that you certainly had no reason to be rude to me.
November 18, 2020 at 01:24
I don’t care whether you like my responses or not. Perhaps you don’t understand what people are telling you – because you clearly have a big attitude and short fuse.
Have a great day.
November 17, 2020 at 04:31
hello Mr Brit
I juste want to ask you if the consulate will rejecte someone if he teste positive in the drug test 5 i smoke weed :/à
November 17, 2020 at 18:42
There have been a few disqualifications for that – particularly where the applicant is considered a “habitual” drug user. But disqualifications for that are rare.
November 17, 2020 at 08:38
When do you expect the 2021 interviews to begin?
And when the interviews start , Are all cases in previous bulletins will be interviewed in the first month?
November 17, 2020 at 18:45
I don’t know when interviews will start. We are waiting to see what KCC do later this month.
As for what cases will be scheduled, again, we don’t know how they will handle these cases.
Again. Wait and see.
November 17, 2020 at 08:39
Hi Simon,
I have been selected for DV lottery for 2021. My number is AS17XXX.
As per the visa bulatin for December, Asia got 3500. Also its saying, except Iran 1600 & Nepal 2750. Is that mean, total Asia numbers 3500 or 3500+iran 1600+nepal 2750=7850?
November 17, 2020 at 18:45
3500
The Nepal and Iran numbers are WITHIN the 3500
November 17, 2020 at 21:30
Thanks a lot Simon
November 17, 2020 at 09:25
Hello Brit Simon! how can I change the interview location by the way I reopened my DS 260 for making some change and I want to change the location, I am in Kigali -Rwanda but For first submit I make mistake to put Nairobi kenya instead to choose Kigali Rwanda Please Guide me to choose Correct Location (Kigali-rwanda
Thank you
NYIRABISABO Aline
November 17, 2020 at 18:46
Only KCC can change the interview location. They do that based on your home address, and you need to ask them to make the change.
November 17, 2020 at 09:49
Hi Brit ! How do you do? Is always a pleasure to me to read you and also to ask you questions . Thanks so much for this Golden opportunity. Here is my question sir: Am from Africa precisely Ivory Coast. I and my family all got our Visa by your guidance I can’t thank you enough. We are planning to book with Air France when the time comes. But Air France will transit to Fance before going to USA. Since the Europe ban is still in place. Will it be alright for us to take Airfrance or we will be asked to do 14days outside Europe? Note that we are not going to leave the airport at France and only going to stay for some hours. ..
November 17, 2020 at 18:47
No Golden, you must not even transit through the Schengen area.
November 18, 2020 at 14:08
I will advise you try Ethopian airlines
November 17, 2020 at 11:06

November 17, 2020 at 13:25
Helo sire berit
If you are a FY2020 Diversity Visa Selectee who did not receive a diversity visa on or before April 23, 2020, you are a class member in the certified Gomez class.
This means that you are now automatically a party in the Gomez lawsuit – you are before the court as a plaintiff, just like any other plaintiff in Gomez or any of the other related lawsuits (Aker, Mohammed, Fonjong, and Kennedy), and you may benefit from a positive decision on the merits by receiving one of the 9,095 reserved visas. It is not necessary for you to join another lawsuit (or to pay any money to do so) in order to participate as a class member or to be eligible for any remedy from the case, including possibly receiving one of the 9,095 visas the court has set aside for FYI 2020 Diversity Visa selectees.
Your official status as a Gomez class plaintiff was established in the court’s September 30 order, in which Judge Mehta ruled that “[c]lass certification is now required to place putative class members before the court as parties . . . and to ensure their eligibility for the visa numbers that the court has ordered the State Department to reserve after September 30 pending final judgment.”
In certifying the class, Judge Mehta turned all FY2020 Diversity Visa Selectees who haven’t yet received visas into parties before the court. If you are a FY2020 Diversity Visa Selectee but did not receive a diversity visa on or before April 23, 2020, you are now before the court as a plaintiff in the Gomez class action.
However, Judge Mehta also determined “that the number of class members exceeds the number of visas reserved by the court, meaning that many class members will not actually obtain a visa.” Unfortunately, Judge Mehta is correct that many class members will ultimately not receive a visa, because he decided to reserve only an additional 9,095 diversity visas for the thousands of class members.
If the certified class ultimately prevails on the merits before Judge Mehta, each class member (and each class member’s derivative family members) is eligible for one of the 9,095 reserved visas. The government, however, has appealed Judge Mehta’s decision, which could have a material impact on the outcome of our case before Judge Mehta, including possibly reducing the number of reserved visas to zero. While Gomez counsel do not believe any court will increase the number of visas reserved for the class, the appellate court could overturn Judge Mehta’s decision to reserve visas. The appeal will also prolong the time it takes for the case to reach a final judgment on the merits.
There is nothing in Judge Mehta’s order to indicate that Gomez class members will have a better chance at obtaining one of the reserved visas if they are also plaintiffs in any new, duplicative lawsuits. This makes sense because class certification is a legal tool meant to benefit similarly situated individuals in one lawsuit, without the individuals having to initiate separate lawsuits on their own.
Additionally, now that the court has certified a class of FY 2020 Diversity Visa selectees, it would likely be improper to give individuals who join a new case priority in obtaining one of the 9,095 visas because, under the rules of class actions, all class members must be treated fairly. While the court has not yet determined how the 9,095 visas will be allocated, it is highly unlikely that priority will be given to individuals who have paid money to join another lawsuit, without some more compelling reason to do so.
Sincerely,
November 17, 2020 at 17:45
Dear Brit
I am dv2020 and I was current in May , although I read ur articles but up to now I don’t know my situation, so is there any chance for me to get visa ??
November 17, 2020 at 19:18
If you have read my articles you should know we are waiting to see the outcome of the lawsuit.
November 17, 2020 at 17:55
Hello Simon,
I’m 21 years old and I dropped out of college last year , since then I’ve just been German language learner as a student in The Austrian cultural association in my country (Iran) and not an employee or unpaid intern or student in a university, so my question is what Should I write in primary occupation in present work/education/training part ?Can I be considered as a student in primary occupation field because of this kind of participation and studying in the mentioned training course , or should I peak unemployed, homemaker choices?
November 17, 2020 at 19:19
You must answer based on your *primary* occupation.
November 19, 2020 at 23:39
Hi Simon,
What is *primary* occupation? Current occupation or occupation that you have done for the longest time?
November 20, 2020 at 01:36
Main occupation that pays the bills.
November 17, 2020 at 18:38
I entered DV2022 in October 2020. When I started filling out the online entry form, I got an error when I submitted the entry. No confirmation number, no nothing. I then did it again and got a confirmation code Will I be disqualified from the lottery because of this? Like will it look as if I’ve entered twice?
November 17, 2020 at 19:28
No. One confirmation number = one entry.
November 17, 2020 at 19:05
Hi Brit,
The address I have mentioned in my dv is in connecticut. But the available airlines do not fly to boston/Newyork airports but fly to los angeles & chicago(ORD).
1) Is it possible for us to go to chicago and then go to boston using domestic airlines?
2) Is there any state to state travel restrictions?
3) Can we transit through Abudhabi? (Because of the regional bans)
4) abudhabi has a US preclearance center. Is that mean we can activate our status before we enter usa?
November 17, 2020 at 19:27
1. Yes. You go through immigration at the FIRST USA airport – so allow 3 to 4 hours for connecting flights.
2. Currently no.
3. Yes
4. The paperwork is done before the flight, you still have to fly.
November 17, 2020 at 19:45
Thank you
November 18, 2020 at 06:44
Hi Simon,
How do they screen for drugs in the medical please? Do they ask you or do they do a urine test or what?
Thank you
November 18, 2020 at 14:00
They can do, yes.
November 18, 2020 at 12:08
Hi Simon,
Am trying to help a friend who is a dv2021 winner, I entered several times in her DS260 to fill in, but days ago, I attached the screenshot, could you please tell me why it is and how can I solve it?
November 18, 2020 at 14:16
You are not making sense. Where is the screenshot?
November 18, 2020 at 13:22
Hi brit,
I’m just wondering does still being in university higher your risk of being denied visa at interview if mentioned, even if you have enough money in your bank and I have a Form I 134?
I am in my second year in nursing.
November 18, 2020 at 15:36
No additional risk, no.
November 18, 2020 at 16:42
Hello Brit,
I am a DV 2021 winner. I have submitted DS-260 and already sent the supporting documents to KCC (but haven’t received the approval yet). Now I decided to marry with my girlfriend. We will be married within 1-2 months. My case number is 12k.
1 Can I include her to my green card process?,
2 If I write to KCC, would they unlock my application include her in this stage?
3 is there any risks?
4 What would you suggest at my stage?
To much important questions for me. I would appreciate if you can answer. Thanks in advance.
November 18, 2020 at 16:58
1. Yes
2. Yes (once you have actually married)
3. Only that you need to show you did not just marry for the extra green card. You need to show the relationship already existed.
4. If you are in a genuine relationship – go ahead and marry.
November 18, 2020 at 17:34
Thanks for prompt answer. One last question should I write to KCC to unlock the application after getting married?
November 18, 2020 at 18:36
Yes.

November 18, 2020 at 19:19
Hello Britsimon! I’m a 2021 DV winner with case nr AF83××. Under July has KCC requested my documents but since that I never heard from them and I guess that’s normal because many others are also waiting. Now I live in Europe and recently I have received the citizenship of the country where I live, I know that I should update my DS260 but I am thinking of changing my surname, do you think that could cause a problem? I have another question about the police report. When they requested the documents that was in July and it was so difficult to get the police report of the homelans via the embassy, and that’s why I have sent all documents without police report from the homeland. In case they asked me for it and I cannot manage could that cause any harm to my case?
November 18, 2020 at 21:15
1. I don’t know if the name change will cause problems.
2. Your documents are not submitted at all until you submit a complete set of documents.
November 19, 2020 at 00:54
Hi Brit, Typing on behalf of all DV 2021 winners who r waiting fr a news of 2NLs issuing on November month.. If KCC send 2NL roughly on which date they might start that process in this month? So today is 18th November according to USA..can we assume that KCC doesn’t send them during this month as they haven’t send them so far???? We r panicking here
November 19, 2020 at 03:43
January interview 2nls should be sent by the end of this month. We can’t assume anything until Dec 1.
November 19, 2020 at 03:49
Thanks Brit…then more time to go with waiting… hope u r doing gud.. I see u reply 1000 of questions each day n helping us.. without u . I dnt know who will guide us like ths ..
November 19, 2020 at 07:02
We still think that KCC operates in normal circumstances. This is not a “standard” year. On September they managed to have 6000+ interviews and all the invitations were sent on the same month. Sometimes, a few days before. I think it will be exactly the same for dv2021 at least for first 2 months (after the ban is lifted).
November 19, 2020 at 19:23
Well I would not expect that if I were you.
First – they operated under a court order. That is very different to the situation now.
Second the vast majority of the 6000 were handled solely by the embassies. KCC did NOT suddenly cause all that work to be done. It was embassies that achieved those numbers based on AP cases, cases already scheduled, and topped up with what KCC were able to add.
November 19, 2020 at 05:30
Dear Simon,
I am one of the winners of the 2021 lottery from Iran.
1. With Mr. Joe Biden becoming president, will there be a chance for us Iranians to complete our visa process?
2. Is it possible to cancel Trump’s order?
Thank You
Masoud
November 19, 2020 at 17:16
1. Yes, probably.
2. He is likely to cancel the Muslim ban. However, there are still going to be difficulties due to COVID – so wait and see.
November 19, 2020 at 06:41
Hi. I know I have asked this question before but I just need some clarity please. With regard to police certificates, the government website states if you lived in a country for more than 12 months we should submit a certificate for that country. I lived in Germany for 5 months, went back home for 3 weeks and then back to Germany for another 4 months and about a week. So 11 months and a week but not consecutively and not a full 12 months. I’ve tried getting answers from KCC whether I need a Germany police clearance but I am not getting clear answers. I have submitted all my documents on their request. When I receive an email back from them, will they tell me that documents are missing (i.e. that I need the German police clearance)?
November 19, 2020 at 17:03
Apologies, I meant to say I lived in Germany for 7 months, then 3 weeks home and then back in Germany for 4 months and a week……..
November 19, 2020 at 19:21
If you are close to the 12 months, or any doubt, just get the police cert! Why risk not having it?? Also track your steps so you can prove that you tried to follow the instructions.
November 19, 2020 at 07:57
Hello simon.
i am dv2021 winner by god willing i am eligible in work experience ground.
i would like to know that how to provide previous work produce to immigration officer ? can you explain more about this?
November 19, 2020 at 19:26
It varies case to case – depending on your career.
You show your career path, proof of job description and duties, financials showing your compensation matches what level of work you do and so on. The point is, use some common sense and put the best case forward for YOUR situation.
November 19, 2020 at 08:27
hi Brit
my husband was selected in the dv2021 lottery, his case number is 2021AF13xx from Zimbabwe. we are failing to log into the ds-260, as we keep getting a respnse saying that “the case number does not match our records”. we tried the advise in the FAQs to try later, or to try removing the zeros, no luck.
We sent an email to KCC but mistakenly gave them a wrong date of birth when sending in our details to confirm, so their their response was what l believe to be a standard message that they send to many people ( attached below). we then sent another email explaining that we made an error on the date of birth whilst sending an email to you only, but the entry form has correct DOB, which we are still trying to enter to access the ds-260 but still get the sem message. unfortunately KCC keeps sending us that standards response below, regardless of the explanation we gave. please can u assist..
November 19, 2020 at 08:30
this is the email reply that l keep getting form KCC. (sorry l forgot to attcha to the above:
If you are trying to access the DS-260 and receiving an error message stating that your date of birth is incorrect, it is because the date you are entering does not match the date from your original DV entry form. To access the DS-260 you must use the date of birth you used when you submitted your original electronic entry. The Kentucky Consular Center cannot provide this information for you. Please be sure that you are selecting the correct day, month, and year, in the format required by the form.
If the date you are entering is your correct date of birth, it is possible that you made an error on your original entry. If you do not know the date you used on your original entry form, you will not be able to access the DS-260 application. The DS-260 is required for visa processing in the DV program.
In order for the Kentucky Consular Center to assist with inquiries regarding a specific Diversity Visa (DV) case, you must provide the Principal Applicant’s full name, complete case number, and date of birth in the following format (MMDDYYYY) as entered on the original entry. Please remember that the Kentucky Consular Center does not have the authority to tell you whether or not your specific case will be disqualified. Only a consular officer can do that at the time of your visa interview. Do not send any paper documents to the Kentucky Consular Center.
For additional information, please refer to the following websites:
November 19, 2020 at 19:29
The most likely thing is that you are entering incorrect information. Only KCC can tell you if that is true or not. Ask them, but give them the correct date of birth.
November 23, 2020 at 07:16
thank you for your response. the letter to confirm that l was selected has correct dob, and l am entering that one.
but if we are to write again to KCC, will there be a problem if me as the wife write, (my husband is the applicant ).
November 23, 2020 at 14:01
No problem.
November 19, 2020 at 10:02
Hi brit ,
I have my visa issued with pp10014 annotation, I book tickets for 21st November but yesterday I airline call me and told me that as per the instructions they just received I can’t travel and i should contact the US embassy.
1 : do u after we book flights the airline contact embassy and provide information regarding passengers and thats why embassy told them that I can’t travel ?
2: My visa can be canceled due to this attempt to book flight ? BTW I already canceled the booking and got refund
3: Any future travel consciousness due to this attempt even after the expiration of travel ban ?
November 19, 2020 at 20:07
1. The airline is supposed to be informed by CBP (not the embassy) of restrictions, so your airline have probably realized they should not allow you to travel.
2. No problem.
3. No problem.
November 19, 2020 at 22:03
Airline don’t know anything about the denial reason Airline told me that they received instructions about denial entry from department of homeland security and Airline gave me one link to inquire about reason and ask for review

Do u think at this time its wise to check with dhs and inquire about it for review ?
November 20, 2020 at 01:35
There is no mystery about this. There is an immigrant ban in place. Unless your visa was a re-issuance from a visa previously issued prior to April 23, the ban means you cannot enter. That doesn’t need to be checked with anyone.

Hi Brit,
For those whose visa were issued in September; is it right time to pay $220 for green card?
I am planning to travel on 2nd January and do not want to delay my card after arrival.
Thank you
November 19, 2020 at 20:09
Given all the changes going on I would not suggest paying now. Paying just before you travel or even just after you travel is the best idea.
November 19, 2020 at 21:41
Hello sir I am a winner of Dv 2020
I been here some months ago telling you about the embassy behavior in my country Liberia. Doing the first order of the judge which they don’t work or was not even open. Now today I try to give them call since you told me that i should wait , I call them a Lady answer me she said the embassy is open to public but they only giving Immigrants visa.
So my question is should I call them again and tell them to scheduled me for interview or just wait ?
November 20, 2020 at 01:33
There is no point in calling them at this time. As far as they are concerned DV2020 is finished. If the lawsuit final outcome is favorable, then you could call them assuming you had an interview previously scheduled.
November 19, 2020 at 23:45
Brit, sorry fr troubling.. What is this $220 payment fr green card santhosh referring?? I never heard abt such charge except visa fees, medical n air ticket payment??
November 20, 2020 at 01:37
Read the FAQ about fees.
November 20, 2020 at 00:23
Can we pay that just after travel? Because we were instructed by the embassy to pay the fee before travel
November 20, 2020 at 01:38
Yes – either way.
November 19, 2020 at 13:35
Good say Simon,
21AS38XX
After submitting my docs to KCC and with my case No. becoming current in the next VB, I received an email with the subject “Case No. XXX Documents Received”, and the email quoted:
“Congratulations! Our records indicate that your case is ready to be scheduled for an interview when your case number becomes current and appointments are available. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on region and which case numbers have already been processed.
If your case becomes current and you have not received notification to check dvlottery.state.gov, you may contact [email protected] to confirm all of your documents have been received, and you are ready to be scheduled for an interview. This notice does not necessarily confirm that all your documents have been received or are acceptable.”
1) I have a concern regarding the last sentence of the email; if the notice doesn’t confirm whether I’ve submitted ALL documents, or if they require anything more, aren’t they supposed to inform me which documents are missing?
2) The above email was sent by KCCDV, the exact address mentioned to contact if I didn’t receive 2NL after becoming current. So..they sent me an email now saying they don’t necessarily confirm that docs are fine, but if I don’t receive 2NL I need to contact them again asking if the docs are fine…?
3) Approx. how long after becoming current should I expect 2NL?
4) Is there anything specific I must do now? Other than..waiting obviously.
Regards
November 19, 2020 at 20:16
Interesting – this is a new email format. It might represent a change in their procedures.
1. No, up to now they have not considered it their job to tell you what you are missing.
2. The words they have added are important – “and appointments are available”. Right now they are not scheduling any appointments, and some embassies remain closed. So – for now, be patient and wait.
3. See 2.
4. Nope – just waiting.
November 19, 2020 at 13:46
Hello Brit
Just making sure again cause i forget to screenshot your answer to mu question
In the question asking to list the countries you have travelled in the last 5 years we should list every country even if we entered this country by bus, train, ship correct it does not only mean by planes or the country entry have to be stamped on passport?
November 19, 2020 at 20:18
The method of entry doesn’t matter. Just answer the question as its written.
November 19, 2020 at 14:33
Hello Simon. my case no. is AF11*** submitted my DS 260 in August and have not received email from KCC requesting for documents…do i go ahead and send the documents without the email. asking coz i think my number might go current on the next VB.
November 19, 2020 at 20:40
No – you should wait to be asked.
November 19, 2020 at 14:54
Hello everyone

Im not sure i put them correct
November 19, 2020 at 20:58
That’s not something you need me to help you check.
November 19, 2020 at 21:28

Brit, hi. I’ve applied for the 2022 lottery, but I am now suddenly with the opportunity to get a work permit in 2021 if the ban is removed. My question is, if I get the work permit and move to the US, and later on I’m selected, do I need to get back to my country to complete the green card lottery process? I know this is a lottery, but I’d rather have a green card than an H1-B visa.
Thanks
November 20, 2020 at 01:44
No – if you win you could process while in the USA, but that is a LONG time from now, at least one year, maybe almost two.
November 19, 2020 at 20:21
Hi Brit, I just submitted my documents after getting an email from KCC and put in the subject of the email the following: ‘Case Number: 2021AF….’ would my adding of the words Case Number cause any problem? Thanks
November 20, 2020 at 01:43
No
November 19, 2020 at 20:21
Hi Simon,
Im dv2021 winner and im principal applicant.
I filled DS-260 forms both for my wife and child and submitted the application. I also mentioned in the form that they will move to US with me.
But now me and my wife live separately but officially we are not divorced. There is a big chance that she will not go to a consular interview.
My questions is:
1. Will i be disqualified if i go to a inverview alone ?
2. Should i correct my application ?
3. What’s a procedure for this kind of cases ?
November 20, 2020 at 01:43
1. No
2. No – you can inform the embassy later when you know more.
3. See 2.
November 19, 2020 at 20:39
Hello Brit. Thank you for everything you are doing for us.
I am writing for a friend of mine, he is selected for this fiscal year with case EU32xxx.
He is living in US with F1 visa for about 2 years. He mailed USCIS I-485 form , and all other forms.
They mailed back this week with I-797C and it writes ” We have rejeceted your benefit request for the reasons
indicated on Form I-797C, Notice of Action ” but there there is not any explanation.
What you suggest to do and does he have any benefit that he lives in US ?
Thank you in advance and i appreciate everything you are doing.
November 20, 2020 at 01:40
Why on earth did he submit his I-485???? He has to wait until his number is current!
Your friend needs to learn about the process. Give him the link below and tell him to read the spreadsheet linked from the first post on that thread.

Hi Brit!
I am a winter of Dv2021 cn 101xx.
I have submitted my documents on 12th October but accidentally I have not sent a document related to one of my family members.
1. Can I send them this month?
2. If yes, is there any time limit for me to send them?
3. Will this new submission of documents affect my visa procedure?
Thank you in advance.
November 20, 2020 at 01:30
1. Yes, but resend the complete pack of documents
2. No
3. No
November 20, 2020 at 05:58
Thank you for your reply. Is it necessary for me to write an email to KCC beforehand to explain why I am resending the documents?
November 20, 2020 at 14:22
That won’t harm.
November 19, 2020 at 21:14
Dear Simon,
1) What do you think is meant by have you *USED* any other email adresses during the last 5 years in the ds form? Example: An email with a goofy name was created to receive one newsletter discount code for online shopping but no email was ever dispatched from it, is it in scope? Does it matter?
2) What if that list adds up to be over 20 email addresses? Strange?
3) Do you know if somebody already had that many listed and if it was a problem or not?
Thanks and have a nice day!
November 20, 2020 at 01:31
Why question this? Just be totally transparent. If the email was barely used there is no risk in telling them about it is there.
November 20, 2020 at 14:06
Thank you for your answer. The reason for this question is that (A) I was concerned that such a long list of addresses may trigger complications / delays (I am somewhat late to submit) in the process. Is that concern unjustified?
(B) some names used are rather embarrassing…
I hope they will just laugh about it
Cheers!
November 20, 2020 at 14:30
A and B don’t change my answer.
November 21, 2020 at 14:52
ok.
1. After listing them on the form > 20, is it ok to close most of these accounts? (As a clean up effort.) Or would you advise to hold on / off with that?
2. While I didn’t do anything forbidden and basically have nothing to hide, I don’t want to cause complications. Seems like almost nobody is having the same issue. Do you recommend to me to discuss with an attorney?
Also, I’ve been to the US on with ESTA many times and never was asked for this
Thank you again and sorry if I am bothering…
November 21, 2020 at 16:47
Oh my. Stop overthinking this.
November 20, 2020 at 03:26
Good day
I have already submitted my DS 260 and my case number is on the visa bulletin.
I put “student” as my main activity but I work 4 hours a day to pay for my studies and house expenses.
But most of the time he spent studying, that’s why I put that main activity.
1. Is the DS okay?
2. If it is wrong, is it necessary to request the unlocking of the ds260…?
3. Can you clarify that in the interview?
thanks
November 20, 2020 at 04:05
1. Yes
2. No
3. Yes
November 20, 2020 at 07:00
Helo Brit,
I hope your doing good and you are doing really good work for EDV winners, thank you straight from the heart for that.I tried to post my query in your website, I failed to do so, I don’t know something went wrong.
My wife is dv winner of 2021 and we got married on march 2020, before the result of DV and we filled the ds260 as married couple and recently she got pregnant,
will that affect our VISA approval chances?
Is there any process we have to follow, since she may be having big belly at the time of interview.
Do we have to amend anything in DS260?

Hello everyone. I have a question.
My case number is 2021EU00010xxx. I filled out DS-260 on July 9.
I have not received email from KCC about submitting scanned documents yet.
some applicant have received email who have case number greater then mine (I know that case number 2021EU00013xxx has received email yestarday).
what can I to do? Should I send the documents without receiving email? Is someone in same situation? Thanks.
November 20, 2020 at 14:27
You should wait. Others could have submitted before you, or their DS260 was process faster than you. Be patient.
November 20, 2020 at 15:11
Hi Brit. Me and my husband are DV2021 winners with CN EU10XXX. We submitted our documents almost 2 months ago, but didn’t receive the ready for schedule email yet. We tried to contact KCC by email and by phone but no answer. They are unable to answer calls. Do you have any idea why?
November 20, 2020 at 15:41
No. I suggest you remain patient – you are not current yet.
November 20, 2020 at 15:41
Hello Mr Brit, have a question about dv2021, can I receive “the document email” twice?? because i receive it before and i opened the DS-260 and resubmit it again. thanks!
November 20, 2020 at 16:28
It doesn’t matter if you get it twice or not. If you already sent your documents there is no need to send them again UNLESS there are changes such as you got married, had a baby or whatever.
November 20, 2020 at 17:40
My face has a little shadow on both sides of it and it looks like face conture. Is that ok sir?
November 20, 2020 at 18:09
You have asked me about this before and I answered. You have asked numerous times about your photo. STOP.
November 20, 2020 at 19:46
New visa bulletin has been released! Earlier than last month’s I think?
November 20, 2020 at 21:05
Yes you are right
Region All DV Chargeability Areas Except
Those Listed Separately
AFRICA 10,500 Except: Egypt 6,000
ASIA 4,300 Except: Iran 2,400
Nepal 2,825
EUROPE 7,500
NORTH AMERICA (BAHAMAS) 4
OCEANIA 600
SOUTH AMERICA,
and the CARIBBEAN 750
November 20, 2020 at 21:21
In my opinion it is very slow (except Africa) , and Europe only 1500 more …prerry slow.
November 20, 2020 at 21:58
Anyone from range 6k-7k in AS region get “the documents received” email from KCC yet?
November 21, 2020 at 04:19
@Fidel: Mine is 6.8k and I’m still waiting for the email! By the way, it’s been around two and half months since I submitted my documents!
