November 17, 2016 at 14:34
Because you submitted so late, your interview will not be scheduled for some months.
November 17, 2016 at 07:08
Hi Brit,I don’t know if this is a problem or not.2002,I sat for an interview in the ivory cost on the resettlement program and at that time I was using a deferent name and I also did my finger print.now I above to go at the US EMBASSY for an interview on the DV program using my real name.so if I do my biometric at the embassy ,will it bring my information on my resettlement program?
November 17, 2016 at 14:32
Possibly. Hopefully you listed that name in your DS260!!
November 17, 2016 at 09:26
hi simon , my husband and i just passed the interview last monday at the embassy of us in casablanca and our case was accepted, but when we want to track our passeport using passport number in http://www.ustraveldocs.com we have the message : Passport Status :
There is no status update available for the passport number submitted. we have already sign in the website.
do you know what deos it mean ?
thank you for your time
November 17, 2016 at 14:23
It means you have to be patient. That’s all.
November 17, 2016 at 10:04
Hi, Thanks for the useful information.
PS: I’m guessing your name is not Brit as referred to in some questions, but rather Simon who is a Brit.
November 17, 2016 at 14:21
Correct.
November 17, 2016 at 12:23

November 17, 2016 at 13:00
Mr Brit
Please I do not qualify with education but I have diploma in a computer course and after school I had an attachment with an IT company for 2 years and later the company employed me.
Please I have been told that you can not qualify with work experience alone in Africa continent.Am so confuse now please what should I do?Advice me
November 17, 2016 at 14:20
Africans can qualify on work experience. Whether YOU can or not depends whether the experience you had was long enough and of the right type of experience. It also depends on whether you prepare for the interview well enough.

November 17, 2016 at 13:50
Hi Brits,thanks once again,
i submitted my Dv260 forms in may ,another DV260 form for one of my four children was completed yesterday but the rest i will do it next week as their passports are in process. My worry is, wont this delay my invitation for the interview, thanks.
November 17, 2016 at 14:18
Why are you “worried” about the delay??? If there is a delay, you caused it!
Whether there is a delay or not depends on your case number. If your case number won’t be current for some months, then there will be no delay caused. You could have submitted the DS260s for the children without the passports.
November 17, 2016 at 14:36
Can I go with bank statements too to prove that I get paid every month with the work experience?
If so then how many months will be enough?
November 17, 2016 at 14:40
You will need to show that and other proof that established at least 2 years of history. Read the link I gave you.
November 17, 2016 at 16:37
No,I never added the name non give any information about me living in the ivory cost or about my resettlement program
November 17, 2016 at 23:57
So you created a large risk by lying.
November 17, 2016 at 16:42

November 18, 2016 at 05:04

November 18, 2016 at 14:29

Hi Simon,
Checks being cashed by USCIS before receiving the NOA letter or text message is an indication that your AOS package has been accepted?
Thanks
November 18, 2016 at 00:00
No. It’s an indication of the check being cashed.
November 17, 2016 at 19:47
Hello Mr.Simon I am an Iranian my case number is around 85xx and I completed my 260 form in September can you tell me when i will be called it doesn’t have to be precise just an estimation which month or so?
Thank You in advance
November 17, 2016 at 20:15
Hi Brit,
Is finger print needed for police check? since I don’t see it in the support document list in police record section.
thanks
November 18, 2016 at 00:01
It varies by country. I don’t know the police cert procedures in all the countries.
November 18, 2016 at 03:28
thanks Brit,
another question that my interview is in Dec and I noticed that we didn’t put my husband’s alias name in ds-260 form and we gave his alias name for police check .is it ok or can we unlock form and fix it. but I assume that now is too late.
November 18, 2016 at 14:30
Now is too late – you can discuss in the interview.
November 17, 2016 at 20:47
Dear Simon
I am from Kenya we summited our DS260 early July and we have not received our 2nl,when can we expect out 2nl .our case number is 179* kindly. Thanks in advance and God bless u.you are doing a good KOB for us.
November 18, 2016 at 00:02
Maybe in the next batch (2NL in the next week, interviews in January) or the batch after that (2NL in the next month, February interviews).
November 17, 2016 at 20:58
I mean thank u for good work u are doing for us
November 18, 2016 at 02:05
Thank mr simon for your kind replay. We appreciate a lot.I have another question can some one check his or her case through http://www.dvlottery.State.gov/ESC without causing any harm to our process of DS260 to see the how far your case is gone or to know weather you are current.
Thanks one again
Stephen
November 18, 2016 at 02:48
You cannot see progress through that site – but you can check it as often as you want.
November 18, 2016 at 02:51
Thanks a lot Simon
November 18, 2016 at 07:42
How do you do! Mr.Simon
Regarding to the comments and answers you replied about filling DS 260 form I need your suggestion, please;
On the “Education” part of the DS260 we did not put secondary school information for both by misunderstanding (principal and spouse), but there is Vocational College (1) for Principal and College plus University (2) for spouse entered. Both Secondary School Certificates are translated in to English and ready to show on interview day.
1. Our Case number EU37XX and DS260 submitted on July 25, 2016. Will be current in Dec. or Jan.???
2. Do I need to unlock DS260 and enter Secondary School data OR leave it however it is?
3. If I unlock and enter data does it cause to delay?
It is delaying already because of late submission, as you said.
If DS260 form submitted in different dates/months in one family; for ex. kids on May month and Principal in June month and Spouse in July.
4. Will they receive 2NL in one day?
5. Which month counts as DS260 submission month?
Appreciate your help and have a nice day!
November 18, 2016 at 14:25
I renumbered your questions because you asked more than the two questions you numbered.
1. You are current already. Current does not mean scheduled – that depends on the DS260 being processed as well.
2. I would unlock and correct if it were my case.
3. Not normally.
4. You will receive ONE 2NL for the principal selectee covering everyone.
5. The first entry for the principal BUT the staggered submissions might have caused some delay.
November 18, 2016 at 13:25
So what can I do in this case, should I unlock my ds260 and add that information there about the resettlement program?please help me.
November 18, 2016 at 14:12
Telling the truth would ALWAYS be my advice. So yes.
November 18, 2016 at 15:14
Thanks brit .
November 18, 2016 at 15:17
How do you know if USCIS determines you are eligible to adjust status (after filling DS260)? Do they send you an email?
November 18, 2016 at 15:20
Hi dear Simon,
First thanks a lot for your helps
I have a question. Today i have just seen that I wrote the postal code of my workplace in my ds260 form wrongly (for example 52203 but it’s in fact 52229)
My case is now in us consulate and my interview is on December.
I’m a winner of dv lottery 2017
So now what i must to do??!
November 18, 2016 at 21:43
Nothing. It won’t matter.
November 18, 2016 at 22:07
Thanks a lot buddy. You are great. I can be relax now.
November 18, 2016 at 15:53
Also, another quick question: Do I need to wait to pay the DV fee ($330) until case number becomes current or can I pay before?
Thank you.
November 18, 2016 at 21:43
You pay on the day of interview at the embassy.
November 18, 2016 at 16:28
First and foremost I have to say THANKS for the service you are giving to people regarding DV issues!
My question is only one but it made me think much. When I and my wife were filling DS-260, my wife was pregnant and in that same form we filled the form as “….. no child” in early July. Soon she gave birth some 20 days later. Some people advised me to unlock and include my child , but others told me not do that as that would delay the time of the interview. What will you advise me, Mr. Simon? thanks a lot!
November 18, 2016 at 21:42
The people who said to not unlock are idiots.
Unlock. Add your child to both your forms, and create a DS260 for the child.
November 18, 2016 at 19:43
Hello Mr.brit i need to know more information about whats next after us arrival, for registering authorities. where and how to pay the USCIS fees.
Thanks
November 18, 2016 at 21:39
When you get your visa there are instructions on paying the fees.
November 18, 2016 at 19:53
Dear Simon,
I am confused about something, in the education section of DS260, it says have you ever attended a secondary school or above? and in the help box it says you must answer yes if you have attended high school, college, university, etc.. I have answered yes, and I started from most recent masters, bachelors, and high school. but I have not written my secondary school. do you think I should have written my secondary school or not?
just to let you know education system in my country is primary school, secondary school, high school, then university.
regards
November 18, 2016 at 21:38
You should have listed all schooling from about age 12.
November 18, 2016 at 22:45
Are you saying two secondary school? Or you meant junior secondary school.then high school.
November 18, 2016 at 20:18
Simon
My Son as a Derivative Applicant just received the NOA email however my D-i-L does not? Any idea?
November 18, 2016 at 21:37
Relax. Wait.
November 18, 2016 at 23:21
Email me ok
November 19, 2016 at 02:37
Hellow sir,
When i enter my case no. 2017AS#### in CEAC website to check my status it says invalid case no…..
What is the problem sir?
Thankyou;.
November 19, 2016 at 07:34
Hello
Is misrepresentation and fraud a criminal offence in regard to Dv visa application?
Am worried Trump presidency on the same…..
November 19, 2016 at 16:14
Yes.
November 19, 2016 at 16:14
Hi Simon!
Mr. Simon I have two questions. One is that if I UNLOCK and add my child, will not that delay me more though my case number is 0002873*? The second question is that when I first enter into the competition I only include me and my wife, but no children. Now if I include my child, who is born after I filled DS-260, will be that acceptable as per the strict rules of the DV lottery procedure?
November 19, 2016 at 16:23
You MUST unlock and add your child to both your DS260s- even if that did cause a delay (which it won’t if you get on with it!). You also need to create a DS260 for the child.
When you email KCC to ask them to unlock, specify that you need both your forms unlocked.
November 19, 2016 at 16:36
SORRY Mr. Simon If I am causing you trouble? How I know that it is UNLOCKED?
November 19, 2016 at 19:56
An unlocked form is editable. A locked form is not.
November 19, 2016 at 16:41
When you say “both forms”, do you mean mine and my wife’s?
November 19, 2016 at 18:35
yes your form and ur wife form
November 19, 2016 at 19:56
Yes.
November 19, 2016 at 22:36
Thanks Brit for this journey together. Your are very very helpful. In the DV 2017 they were asking for the city one was born. In my country, there was only one city called ‘CCC’. The country is divided into provinces and districts. That only city ‘CCC’ is in one of the provinces but not the province I was born in. In the entry I indicated that city ‘CCC’ as the city of birth since it is the only city. But my birth certificate is written ‘birth in the ‘DDD’ District in the ‘PPP’ Province. In the DS260 I filled in the city of birth as ‘DDD’ and the state/Province of birth as ‘PPP’. Can these bring interview challenges? Do I need to unlock and change? Am CN AF35XXX, if changes are made now will this delay my interview? Thanks a lot
November 20, 2016 at 06:45
I would unlock and correct. That will not delay.
November 20, 2016 at 07:36
Simon Thanks for your answer. If I unlock and put the city to be the same as one I entered in the DV entry it will not match with what is in the Birth Certificate. Will this be acceptable. The city of birth is the one giving issues. Thanks a lot.
November 20, 2016 at 14:26
It should match the birth certificate.
November 20, 2016 at 02:07
Hellow sir,
When i enter my case no. 2017AS#### in CEAC website to check my status it says invalid case no…..
What is the problem sir?
Sir please reply
Thankyou;.
November 20, 2016 at 06:44
No 2017 data is in the CEAC system, so you cannot check any DV2017 case. The data won’t be loaded until January.
November 20, 2016 at 04:36

hi dear Simon, in my birth certificate in the name of birth place they only write Region name not specific Province town!I had the specific place town in passport! In ds 260 i wrote region, town full info as the form asked! so does my birth certificate has problem? the one who issued it said the automated system only allows to selecte region name ! we can’t access to edit it!
November 20, 2016 at 14:24
Not a problem.
November 21, 2016 at 13:38
great!thanks
November 20, 2016 at 10:31
Hi Brit!
If my interview goes well and I granted a green card, how much time do I have to leave my country before it’s canceled?
Thanks!
November 20, 2016 at 14:24
6 months from the medical.
November 20, 2016 at 17:50
Hi Simon,
If my birth certificate is written on my biological parents and all my other documents (id, passport )are written on my adoptive parents names, is it going to be a problem at the interview?
November 20, 2016 at 22:31
Well no – because you will show adoption information too.
November 20, 2016 at 19:11
Hi Brit. To the question “have you attended any educational institutions at a secondary level or above” in DS-260, should we mention High School and Above, or should we include the middle school? In my country this is the system:
1-5 = Primary School
6-9 = Middle School
10-12 = High School
November 20, 2016 at 22:30
Middle and High school.
November 21, 2016 at 12:47
Hi brit, in the above question i wrote the general secondary school and university only, didnt write the middle school
1- any problem?
2- i am still worry about the method which i listed my name in ds260, i asked you before and still need more clarification, i ask if i can ask you again, if yes i will send you the question.
November 21, 2016 at 15:45
1. I answered with my advice – my advice is based on what is safest. You are free to ignore it if you want.
2. I’m sure I have answered this. Now it is up to you to apply your own judgement.
November 21, 2016 at 10:08
HI SIMON.THANKS FROM YOUR USEFUL SITE.IM 2017 WINNER FROM ASIA.CN IS CURRENT.Q1:WHEN I GO TO CEAC TO CHECK STATUSE,IT SHOWS INVALID CN!!!!WHATS THE PROBLEM?
Q2:THEY RECENTELY PUBLISHED VISABULLETIN IN NOVEMBER.FOR JANUARY INTERVEIW.WHY DO U SAY DEC VISA BULLETIN?
November 21, 2016 at 15:55
1. No problem, it just doesn’;t have any DV2017 cases.
2. Because that is the name of the visa bulletin. It is published in November, it is “called” the December bulletin, it concerns December interviews and gives *advanced notice* of the January interviews.
November 21, 2016 at 11:32
Thanks brits, allen once more,i and the father of my children seperated and i havent told him about this, yet i have to go with my children .do i need to go with his conscent to the interview ,please advise,

Your case is not current yet. By the time it is current your DS260 will be processed, so there will be no delay.
November 21, 2016 at 16:20

November 21, 2016 at 23:20

Hi MR simon,
what about ( sponsor )?
is it required for me to find sponsor? I am 2017 winner from egypt
November 21, 2016 at 15:43
Cairo normally asks who will host you in the USA.
November 21, 2016 at 13:06
MR Simon,
in DS260 I wrote several previous addresses,
1) is it required to have Police certificate from each address, or only one from the nearest place is enough? I am from egypt
November 21, 2016 at 15:42
Check the reciprocity page for the country(s) concerned.
November 21, 2016 at 17:36

Thanks
November 21, 2016 at 23:15
No problem.
