Dear Mr. Brit Simon,
I understand I have to send a police certificate to KCC from every country where I lived. My question is, should I translate all of them to English?
Thank you in advance!
April 6, 2021 at 02:57
That depends on where you will interview. Please read the instructions.
April 6, 2021 at 16:18
I live in Hungary now (moved here 3 years ago), but I was born in Serbia. I will have the interview in Budapest, Hungary. I am planning to send all the docs next week, but not sure about the Serbian police certificate. I have it, but on Serbian. Should I translate it? From Hungary I have all the docs in English.
Thank you!
April 6, 2021 at 17:04
Yes.
April 5, 2021 at 20:54
hi brit, Q.1 if a country has 2400 selectees, is it inclusive of the derivatives, or counted as principal applicants only? Q.2 all the interview in my country are currently scheduled for April, does this mean may 2nls are not sent YET?, or may 2nls are done?, more confused on the second Qn. Hoping u make it clear..
April 6, 2021 at 02:58
1. 2400 is selectees and their derivatives.
2. All done.
April 6, 2021 at 04:37
Good morning Sir , in May_2NLs.csv we still have cases in transit unknown the country consulate of these cases ,
1- will it be updated to know in which country consulate these cases will be interviewed? because some countries has not been shown that in may they are interviews but we still have unknown cases in transit.
thanks Sir
April 6, 2021 at 16:45
We extract the data once a month. Its not a critical need to watch every day, but if you want to you can manually check the cases you want to check.
April 6, 2021 at 05:51
Hi Brit.
AS12XXX It’s been 5 months since I have submitted my documents. KCC is not responding to my query when asked whether they are satisfied with the documents nor answering the phone. I re-submitted the whole set of documents yesterday considering the situation KCC currently in , with backlog of documents and assuming maybe they misplaced or missed the email ( hope they are professionals). Is it ok? Or did I over complicate things?
April 6, 2021 at 16:47
No problem.
April 6, 2021 at 07:49
Dear Simon, what is the formula behind that the total number CNs processed at each embassy gets equal to the number of visas issued with respective embassies? For instance if the total CNs ( ready +admin process+Refused+issued) on a given embassy is 50, the total number of visas on the mere category of issued CNs is 50 ?
April 6, 2021 at 16:50
I dont know what you mean.
April 6, 2021 at 19:45
Why is that the total visas of derivatives for issued CNs gets equal to the total number of all CNs(refused, issued, ready etc) processed on a given consulate ?
April 6, 2021 at 21:02
It isnt.
April 6, 2021 at 09:03
Hi Simon !
Based on Morocco interview scheduling numbers from CEAC, when do you think AF55xx could be scheduled?
Many thanks ??
April 6, 2021 at 16:51
I dont know which cases will be interviewed.
April 6, 2021 at 10:11
hello Brit, my name is Estifanos from Ethiopia. my case number is AFXXXX and it was current in January i already have send every of the documents and KCC send me an email on December 2020 confirming that the document is received however I have not received any notification to know the date of my interview so far. What can I do?
April 6, 2021 at 16:54
Ask KCC if they are satisfied with your documents.
April 6, 2021 at 11:29
Hi Simon. Hope you’re doing well 🙂
As a DV-2021 non-Schengen EU selectee, what do you think would be a good reason to mention to another country’s embassy to transfer my interview there as my embassy hasn’t scheduled any interviews yet?
April 6, 2021 at 16:54
The truth.
April 6, 2021 at 12:14
Hi Simon, I hope you are well.
Thank you for all of the information provided. It has made the process a whole lot easier.
I had a question around document submitions:
1. Do police certificates need to be duly apostilled or are the originals sufficient?
2. If I have dual citizenship do I need to submit both passports or only the one of chargability?
Thanks again 🙂
April 6, 2021 at 17:01
1. Varies by country, so you check the instructions and reciprocity pages.
2. Both.
April 6, 2021 at 12:23
Hi Simon,
I haven’t submitted my DS260 yet. Considering all the bans and my high no I postponed it. For maybe too long. Do you think there are any chances for my number if I submit this month?
April 6, 2021 at 17:02
Maybe. There are no certainties this year.
April 6, 2021 at 19:24
There are CN1….CN100, it’s clear that all CNs not issued visas. Say 25CNs issued visas, so the number of visas in the 25CNs gets 100. What is the reason behind?
April 6, 2021 at 20:59
Please rad the FAQ
April 6, 2021 at 19:27
Because each CN might have one person or eight person, which relates to the number of visas
April 6, 2021 at 19:54
Hello Brit,
I’m also being ignored by KCC. Have been since December.
1. Should I resubmit my documents as well (knowing I had to send 4 emails because of the large number of docs)?
2. I was reading tips on how to have a successful interview (because I’m so anxious). I read somewhere that all documents should be translated into English and you should bring (1) the original documents, (2) a copy of the original documents and (3) the translations of those documents and (4) your unsealed medical file.
Considering I live in a country where French is an official language, all of my documents were translated into French. Do I still have to translate everything in English for the interview?
Which brings me to question number 3. Since French is an official language where I live and my documents were translated into French, how are the KCC folks going to judge whether my documents are alright? I’m really worried about this now, although the instructions said I could do that.
Many thanks. Also, I recently realized your name is actually Brit and not Simon. My apologies.
April 6, 2021 at 21:06
1. You should call them
2. If interviewing in a country where French is the official language. Then no.
3. See 2.
April 7, 2021 at 10:30
Thank you, Brit.
1. Unfortunately, they don’t pick up the phone and they give me classic copy/paste email responses when asking whether they are satisfied with my documents. I don’t know what to do anymore. I joined the DV-2021 lawsuit, though. Should I just wait and see what happens once the case is filed or should I resubmit my documents to KCC anyway?
2. Ok, although French is not the only official language of the country I reside in, it’s 1 out of 3 official languages, but I assume it’s still ok.
2a. Does that mean KCC only checks whether you have sent in all required documents without actually reading the content (if at all possible)?
2b. Just because my documents aren’t in English doesn’t mean that the processing by KCC will be delayed in favor of those who sent documents in English, right?
I’m asking this because mine are in Russian and French. If they can’t understand the content, I don’t see how they can check them. I saw a video of yours in which you explained that they introduced this extra step recently to make sure embassies wouldn’t waste their time on incomplete cases, but if KCC can’t even understand the content… It makes no sense to me. Didn’t give it a second thought at first but now I’m starting to question every little detail.
April 7, 2021 at 16:34
Patience.
As to the translations, get translations if you are concerned.
April 6, 2021 at 20:14
Hi Brit is dv2021 stared for the interview??
April 6, 2021 at 21:06
Yes
April 7, 2021 at 08:52
My case no is around AF44xxx, which month do you guess that I’ll be called for the interview??
April 7, 2021 at 16:32
No predictions
April 6, 2021 at 20:43
hi, I’m EU24XXX I’m going to send documents this week, and choose the ambassy for interview… I’m from Poland but currently living and working in Italy, but I’m not Italian resident.
—-Is living and working in Italy its good reason to claim for interview in Italy?
—do you think sending documents now is still good for my no. or its too late?
April 6, 2021 at 21:07
1. They schedule based on where you live.
2. Now is ok.
April 6, 2021 at 20:58
Eve

You would not normally continue given your maiden name.
April 6, 2021 at 21:02
Hi, im DV2020 winner
URGENT question:
In my country the passports for kidds 0-4 years old are for 2 years. So when we were selected after that i submitted DS form , I drew a new pasport for my kid, and i saved the old passport asof rules, to show on interview.
But in meantime the process of DV020 took so long more than 2 years, now I need to apply for a new passport for my kid again, because I would have to apply or come back from US just 6months after going to US, in case I get an interview in May, and I need at least full 2 years limit for my kids passport.
Simon do you think looks bad in front of officer at interview if i show them 1 updated passport and 2 old/expired passports of my kid. They know DV2020 took long and in our country for kids the passports last 2 years only but does it give a bad image or something? Cos i must do it, i cant come immediately after going to US. I want to go hopefully and live forever there
April 6, 2021 at 21:08
Why is this urgent???
April 10, 2021 at 17:54
Ok so what is your opinion , should I apply for my kids passport again, having 3 in total for interview or not?
April 10, 2021 at 18:01
I don’t have an opinion about that.
April 6, 2021 at 21:17
hey Brit, i Need your advice.. for a DV21 AF11k living in a country that has 4k selectees and where there is far too small amount of interviews scheduled(only 4 scheduled for April &may),is it time to consider joining lawsuits?. If so which lawyer has a higher probability of success?
April 6, 2021 at 21:39
They will all succeed. Its just a matter of time.
April 6, 2021 at 21:44
The more specific ones that was there a few months ago when I last checked seems to have been merged into the new software developer category. That’s why I’m worried if the SVP/JobZone might not be sufficient when they finally add it.
I don’t have a high school exam, I took a different 4.5 year software developer exam that I don’t think is high school equivalent. That’s why I need to go the work experience route and was wondering if you knew about what proof they might accept for a freelancer/saas owner, other than what I mentioned?
Thanks so much
April 7, 2021 at 01:05
Proof varies by case. You would need to show proof of professional income, notable work product and so on.
April 6, 2021 at 21:48
Hi dear Simon
1- must the documents sent to KCC be in colour or black and white?
2- my ds-260 forms are currently processing, and my docs as well. Do the documents accelerate the processing of ds-260 forms?
2- my CN is current, and I’m not living in one of the banned countries. is there any lawsuit but that one filled for those who are effected by the bans to join?
3- I’m thinking to change my interview location – I’m from Sudan – to Egypt; as my local embassy isn’t accepting DV interviews so far. should I ask for this now or wait until my case is ready for scheduling? When is the best time to do so in general?
Thank you so much in advance for your respond and help.
May God protect you and your family.
April 7, 2021 at 01:08
1. Use your own judgment.
2. No
3. Same suit.
4. Its a gamble either way, Cairo is particularly busy normally but isn’t showing signs of handling a high volume of interviews. But, your choice.
April 6, 2021 at 22:41
Hello, I have sent my document 7 months ago and followed up with KCC 3 times by email and the only reply I get is the generic one. I saw you advise to call them but I tried several times to call 606 526 7500 and there is a recording voice that says send an email. Is there another phone number that I can call? Thanks.
April 7, 2021 at 01:08
No.
April 7, 2021 at 04:46
Hello, same situation with me EU101**.I hava sent my documents on 09/27/20 and still no answer. What is your CN?
April 7, 2021 at 02:26
Hi Simon, I was wondering if there are any time restrictions when it comes to the i-134, for example: that the i-134 can’t be signed more than a month before the DV interview. Thanks
April 7, 2021 at 03:40
No
April 7, 2021 at 03:11
Hi Brit.Due to the schengen ban,i would like to tramsfer my case to the embassy in my country in africa region. They emailed today saying they are just waitning for NVC to send them cases that are ready for processing from next month going forward. Is it wise for me to transfer my case and how long might it take for KCC to change the location. My case is ready for scheduling, documents submitted and approved,CN AF13K.Thanks
April 7, 2021 at 03:41
There are no normal timelines.

Mr Brit
I m DV winner 2020 and in Group no 05. So I did not receive confirmation notification.
1. When will be the final judgement for 9095 visa allocation.
2. Is there any possibility to process my documents by KCC after the final judgement.
2020 AS 26×××
April 7, 2021 at 03:42
1. Late April or May
2. I dont know
April 7, 2021 at 07:22
Hi Mr. Brit,
I am DV21 winner with CN AS6xxx. I am thinking to resubmit all my docs to KCC as I want to include an alternative document for my Birth Certificate (where I previously submitted all my docs in Oct 2020). I have couple questions needed your professional suggestion as listed below:
1. Should I include any other electronic doc in my package to KCC like High School Diploma or Exemption of Military Service (p.s. my country require mandatory military service)? Or just the required docs per Documents Required email from KCC?
2. Should I attached all the previously submitted docs to KCC specifically for the one that I have just re-applied for an new one? For example, for Police Certificate, I applied one in Oct 2020 and one in Mar 2021. Both two were issued by the same police department in Canada but with different formats (the old one with finger print and the new one without). I applied the new one in March 2021 as it is the format described in the US Reciprocity page. In this case, should I submit both two Police Certificates to KCC?
3. I have done some authentication on my documents. I understand that authentication is not required. But is it matter if I only did the authentication on some of my documents?
Thank you so much!
April 7, 2021 at 16:29
1. Required
2. Just the latest
3. No

Hello Simon!
My friend who won without passport as I said some weeks ago went yesterday April 06th to the embassy of Yaoundé in Cameroon. This is what he told me through some vocal notes:
“My interview was at 10:30 and I went earlier to be on time. When I arrived to the embassy, there were other nine dv winners who also went for their interviews. So we were ten to be interviewed. The interviewees spoke through a microphone to the consul who is another room. We could not get close to him because of covid-19.
One selectee among us was directly refused visa because according to the consul, he travelled a lot in many different countries.
in turn, I went with fear in my stomach because of my case which was the passport. But the consul bizarrely did not ask me the reason for which I did not play with passport. He just asked me questions about my diplomas and my life in general. He kept some photocopies of my documents (passport, diplomas, etc) and told me they would check the diploma before giving a decision on my case. So I was given back all my original papers to return home. This was the same scenario for the other eight winners. No visa was issued to one of us. We were all given back our original documents to return home and the consul said he would call us if the checking was over. I was also given a paper where Administrative Procedure was ticked.
When were returning home, some of us were saying the consul would call us in two weeks like that. This is what happened yesterday. I always cross fingers for the issuance of my visa.”
April 7, 2021 at 16:31
Interesting, but I always take these stories with a pinch of salt. For instance, the first refusal reason is nonsense. I don’t know why people inject nonsense into their stories, but they do.
April 12, 2021 at 10:38
Hi Mike did the Consular Officer ask for Form I-134 (Affidavit of Support)?
April 7, 2021 at 09:01
Hi Simon
I already submitted my DS-260 application in February, but the address of the person i submitted for mailing of the green card or rather the address of the person living there changed because the person moved. Is it advisable to email KCC and unlock my application to make the changes or should i just leave my application as i submitted it?
How significant is the correctness of the address to my application and the interview and what effect might making the changes have to the processing of my application?
Thank you
April 7, 2021 at 16:32
Change it at the interview.
April 7, 2021 at 09:13
Hi Brit.does travel history affect chances of getting the visa.i have travel to many countries.I am from Africa and have visited China for 6 months but i did not send the police cert.currently i live in a European country for 5 years now.I have been to USA on a J1 visa for summer work.after my return from US i applied for a B1/B/2 visa but later on cancelled the appointment due to change of plans..will this affect my chances..?
April 7, 2021 at 16:32
No
April 7, 2021 at 10:28
Dear BritSimon,
Would you be able to record a video or write a post regarding changing the country of visa interview, pros and cons, possibilities and your opinion about it? Pretty please… A lot of us are desperate and wondering what options we could explore.
Many thanks,
April 7, 2021 at 16:33
Read the FAQ
April 7, 2021 at 17:44
Does changing the interview location puts you at the end of the line for that particular location? Is it worth changing the location at this time or is it better to wait and see a few more months?
April 7, 2021 at 18:03
There is no “normal” right now.
April 7, 2021 at 14:42
Greetings dear Simon
DV2021 selectee and CN of 20k.
I unlocked DS-260 once on Mar 16 and resubmitted the DS-260 form 1 week back on Mar 25 and during the submission my DS-260 form I mistakenly omitted only the leading zero’s (0) while writing my case number on the confirmation page of DS 260 form submission and now I’m worried that it might have problem with the processing of my case?
I received an email for document submission on Mar 17 and I sent it on April 4 with strictly following the instruction on the email (subject of the email is my full case number including the leading zero’s) but I didn’t yet received an auto reply email that confirms they have received my documents (3 days passed now).
1. does the CN leading zero’s omission has a problem with the general processing of my case? and specifically for not receiving an auto reply message.
2. does sending my documents again, have a problem with processing of my case?
3. can I unlock for the second time and change my interview location to DJI since they are accepting more interviews than my country.
April 7, 2021 at 16:35
1 no
2 no
3 you can ask KCC
April 7, 2021 at 14:58
HI Brit, I am DV21 AF7xxx , I submitted my documents by Sept last year and already got the ready for scheduling email from KCC by Dec last year but up till dat have not receive the 2NL and my embassy is currently open and from the CEAC data people from my country have been send 2NL up to 16xxx so please what can I do so I receive the 2NL too.
April 7, 2021 at 16:36
Wait
April 7, 2021 at 17:57
Hi Brit,
I read you post about sponsorship and form I-134. I also read that if I want to show my bank statements instead of obtaining form I-134 I should have at least 10,000USD in my bank account. My questions are
1) Is the 10,000USD still an amount they look for or has it been raised?
The reason I am asking this is because I am single no kids, and I will have a bit more than 10,000USD in my bank account by the time my interview date in May (due to my salary and a small monetary gift from my mom). I am currently employed with a resonable paid job, I have a degree, a diploma, several course certificates, I currently own a small business that does not generate alot of profit and a vehicle.
2) Do you think this is sufficient or should I still consider getting the I-134?
I would be very grateful for your opinion, because I am very nervous about the interview.
Thanks in advance
April 7, 2021 at 18:04
The 10k was never a precise amount. It could vary. An I134 is more predictable.
April 7, 2021 at 18:09
Thank you very much for your response. I will be sure to update you after my interview.
April 7, 2021 at 18:07
Hi Brit,
I already sent my documents. I’m in Turkey and I got all of my documents from our Government website digitally. But some of them will expire in 15 days/1month.
Should I resend the documents after they expire? or Should I send a mail to KCC indicating that my documents will expire?
Many Thanks
April 7, 2021 at 23:50
It is probably the links that expire, not the documents. You have, I hope, sent the documents, not the links.
April 8, 2021 at 05:43
Thank you for your response,
There is a barcode/QR on documents. After 15 days/1 month, these barcodes expire and you can’t verify it through our government website. But, yes information on documents still exist.
In this case what should I do?
Many Thanks
April 8, 2021 at 17:24
I already said. You have sent the DOCUMENTS, not the links – right??
April 8, 2021 at 19:23
Yes, I have sent the documents in pdf format. As I said, barcodes are inside the documents. After the barcodes expired, they won’t be able to verify my documents through our government website. That’s what I am concerned about.
Are they going to verify my documents through our website or will they just examine the document contents?
Sorry for too many questions, thanks for your consideration and time
April 9, 2021 at 03:24
I have answered this.
April 7, 2021 at 18:56
I am hoping to interview in Canada and joined the mandamus lawsuit (Montreal is open, just not interviewing DV cases). My case is current and I received the ready for scheduling email a few months ago. Charles Kuck did a FB live today and answered someone’s question about Montreal saying that even if youre a plaintiff, you should maybe consider a third country because Montreal is hard. I’m confused about why we joined the lawsuit if they can’t help us, but if we do choose another country, is it too risky if I’m already current and ready for scheduling? WOuld my case go back into KCC where there seems to be a big backlog? Do you agree with this suggestion? Thank you.
April 7, 2021 at 23:52
There are no easy, simple answers. There are no usual choices. You have to make up your own mind.
April 8, 2021 at 01:22
Hi Simon,
I’m in a similar situation. I remember you suggested that it’s worth looking into scheduling cases in the embassy of the country where you were born, but, unfortunately, it might be even harder in my case. Would you recommend contacting consulates of other countries (like Mexico), if I’m not originally from there?
Thank you very much for your help and support!
April 8, 2021 at 04:16
Generally no, but you can try what you want.
April 7, 2021 at 20:56
Hi Brit, I hope all is good!
I am a DV21 winner and I renewed my passport last week.
They sent me the email to share the documents (Does this mail means my DS260 has been processed?) which I already did before hand & I did again.
Now that I renewed my passport I will resend the new & old passport which I still have in me.
My question is do I edit the DS260 with the new passport number & then share the documents once again & explain everything by email OR keep the DS260 as it is and send the new documents & explain.
I have already requested to open my DS260 which will be open by tomorrow or Friday 9th.
Kindly let me know what is the best thing to proceed without affecting my case.
Thanks
April 7, 2021 at 23:55
I would just send old and new, and not edit the ds260.
April 7, 2021 at 21:45
Hi Simon, does the passport need to have a year of validity after issuance of the visa? My passport expires in June 2022, what do you think?
April 7, 2021 at 22:27
Also could I renew my passport between the time I get my 2nl and the visa interview?
April 7, 2021 at 23:30
Because I’m planning on leaving pretty much as soon as I get my visa, can I explain that to the consul to make it clear that I’ll have 6 months Visa validity after USA entry?
April 7, 2021 at 23:55
No
April 7, 2021 at 23:59
So do I need to have a year of passport validity?
April 7, 2021 at 23:59
And is the passport expiring on June 2022 good enough?
April 8, 2021 at 00:12
I’m sorry about the asking so much but I didn’t quite understand which question you were answering
April 8, 2021 at 00:55
Then stop firing off multiple questions. Calm down.
April 8, 2021 at 02:32
I apologize, I’ll try to better articulate my questions next time, I’m just a bit nervous. I’m sorry again
April 7, 2021 at 23:17
Hello sir
Riyadh embassy take only 7 appointments in april all from Africa region and nothing from Asia October bulletin…Is there any explanation for this.. Why very limited no.?
Specially that US embassy in Riyadh has been opening months ago and even issuing tourist and student visas…
April 7, 2021 at 23:56
No embassies are doing much volume.
April 8, 2021 at 02:08
Hi Simon,
I hope you’re well. I have my DV2021 interview scheduled for later this month in Sydney. I wanted to enquire about changing the date/postponing the interview. Do you know if there are any risks involved with such a request? Ie, would they cancel my current appointment without scheduling me a new one? Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Many thanks,
John
April 8, 2021 at 02:43
Hi John, I’m interviewing in May in Sydney. Has your record moved from “in transit” to “ready” in CEAC? I ask because mine is still “in transit” after weeks, and the Sydney consulate has told me that they haven’t gotten my file from KCC yet.
April 8, 2021 at 04:15
Sydney are pretty good, but of course there are risks. This is an odd year.
April 9, 2021 at 02:44
Thanks Simon. The issue is not so much the date of the interview, rather the duration of time I have post interview to enter the US (which I believe is six months). I have recently had some medical issues arise that could interfere with this timeframe. Do you know if it’s possible, at the point of interview or otherwise, to possibly extend this six month window somehow?
April 9, 2021 at 03:16
No that is not possible. Your best bet would be to delay your medical. You attend the interview as planned, but without doing the medical first. Then do the medical later – say Aygust, give them the finished medical and then they will issue the visa with 6 months from the date of the medical. It is not 100% risk free, but that is the least risky plan.

Hi Simon,
I hope you’re well. I’ve run through your posts related to my case and yes, they help me a lot. My interview date is in Apr 21. I’ve collected all documents required including I-134 and bank statement.
The sponsor is my sister with a good income and I have more than 22K in a bank account to support me and 3 derivatives (spouse and 2 kids). Seeking your idea, is it enough?
Thanks.
April 8, 2021 at 04:13
Probably.
April 8, 2021 at 05:20
Hi Simmon,
My sponsor sent me the I-134 five months ago. He filled the form with the federal tax return of last year. Now I have interview soon. Should I tell him to change it and fill with this year tax return or it s fine ?
I have also a french court record I have downloaded it from the website of the french ministry of justice. It contains numbers to check on the website to see its authenticity. Can I bring to the interview this French court record without any other stamp on it?
Thank you Simmon.
April 8, 2021 at 17:23
You will need a more recent I-134 and supporting documents. Yes.
Regarding stamps – follow the country specific instructions.

April 8, 2021 at 06:58
Good morning SIR, DV 2021 AS110XX ,
as per request of KCC i submitted my documents since OCT 2020 , and after hearing and watching your videos about submitting documents i am sure that i followed every details you mentioned and i reviewed many times my documents and even i consulted you by many things about my situation to be sure what i did so i am very relaxed about my sent documents. we are following your comments on your blogs and what i noticed that in Asia no one more than between 7000 and 8000 has got the confirmation email. In my country interviews will start this month according on the 2nls of April(3 cases) , to increase my chance to be interviewed i entered the new litigation of 2021.
1- Do you think that the result of this litigation will appear before Sep especially the focus of the lawyers is to reserve or provide interviews for the plaintiffs who are current ?
2 – Don’t you think that the new administration will not oppose what the judge will rule especially these problems are from the former administration ?
3 – Is it useful to resend the documents or not necessary especially i sent them based on the request of KCC(after receiving requirement documents email)?
4 -Is it possible for the judge to issue several judgments during the hearing of the lawyers before the final verdict, meaning, for example, in July, part of the judgment is to adjudicate some cases to implement by the government, or the judge will issue one judgment at the end of the sessions?
5 – could it happen or is it happened before based on your experience that KCC sent in one email the confirmation email and the date of the interview?
6 – Does KCC this year( as exception to avoid the delay) , send our cases directly to our embassies without sending them to NVC first ?
7 -Do the embassies also for this exception year request from KCC to send cases to schedule the interviews based on the situation of every embassy or in contrary , i am talking for this year only?
8 – According to your knowledge does KCC hire more people to expedite the process after the former administration fired most of them?
9 – According to your experience and your analysis and your connection with the lawyers , does the situation of DV2021(lawsuit , issuing visas ,….) will be better than DV2020 ?
Thank your Sir and sorry for these quantities and qualities of the questions?
April 8, 2021 at 17:27

Hi Brit, I’m AF CN of 44k, I’m now planning to send the bloody documents you advised us to do so. Sir I’m from Somalia and would like to get your clarification on two matters: first one relate to the birth certificate, as per the respiratory page, it has been mentioned that since the county went into brutal civil war, there has been any competent civil organizations which does have the authenticity to issue documents regarding such matters like birth certificate, police records and so on. Further to that sir, I live in another country and the embassy of the country which does I reside now accepts the documents issued by the Somali embassy, so sir what’s your thoughts on that issue? Can I get these documents from Somali embassy where I live, or should I order them from back home? Moreover sir, for the sworn affidavit, can the parents be the signatories?
April 9, 2021 at 03:39
I don’t know. You will need to use your own judgement.
April 10, 2021 at 02:42
Many thanks, sir. I obtain the documents from the embassy, and having gathered information from several parties involved in similar cases to mine, it seems to be quite appropriate to obtain these documents from my country’s embassy in the city where I reside, and fortunately, the US embassy in this city accepts the documents released by my country’s embassy, and I assume there would be no issue at all. Apart from that, sir, I’d like to obtain your clarifications about sworn affidavits for birth certificates; what requirements must be met in order to obtain one, and can my parents serve as signators?
April 10, 2021 at 17:02
There are country specific requirements. You must read and follow those instructions.
April 11, 2021 at 02:55
Hello sir. I hope you’re doing well, was watching the live YouTube you did about two weeks ago regarding the filling of new lawsuit and if I’m not mistaken, I think the participation period time has already lapsed( April 5), sir is there’s any other way where I can join the lawsuit now? If not, then do you believe there will be any other lawsuit going to be filed soon regarding reservation of 55K Visas or mandamus type of action?
April 11, 2021 at 03:15
I don’t know.
April 8, 2021 at 17:23
Hi Brit,
AF35xxx here, I sent my documents 3 weeks ago without being asked. I would like to ask KCC if they are satisfied with the documents I sent.
1) What I write in the email subject?
2) Same email address as the one we use when we want to unlock the ds260?
3) Have you heard any case number above 34K in AF region whose documents have been approved?
Many thanks my dear Brit!!!
April 8, 2021 at 17:45
Patience. 3 weeks is nothing.
April 8, 2021 at 18:39
hi Simon

April 9, 2021 at 03:20
Discuss it with your lawyer.
April 8, 2021 at 18:49
Thank you Brit for your quick reply!
When do you think it will be appropriate to contact them? And at that time, what do I put in the email subject?
April 9, 2021 at 03:21
Wait a few weeks. You can decide what to write.

Dear Simon,
Me and my husband are Green Card holders (through lottern) Since 2015. I had a Risk pregnancy in 2019 and remainder outside USA. Than the Pandemic arrived and it is more than 2 years Outside USA. We were Not allowed From the CBP to Travel as he asked us to apply for a Boarding Foil. Do you think That the Boarding Foil is the Right one? Our daughter is 17 months old. He told US That she can Travel without Visa until she is 18 months. What do you suggest us? We have prepared all Hospital documents and lettera from the doctor That we could Not Travel because of our little Baby. Meanwhile we have bought a house and filed taxes regularly. We are a bit afraid. Our daughter will be 18 months at the beginning of may. And tips from your side?
Kind regards,
Manu
April 9, 2021 at 03:20
You will need to apply for an SB-1 visa through your local embassy, and you can sort out the baby at that time.
April 8, 2021 at 19:02
Hello Simon,
I got my appointment letter 2NL from US embassy in kenya, Date of appointment is 21 May, and my passport will expire September of this year, Can I renew my passport? Or I use my passport?
April 9, 2021 at 03:23
Renew your passport and take the old and new passports to the interview.
April 9, 2021 at 06:37
My old passport’s place of Issu was Garowe.
Can I renew my new passport in Muqdisho?
Can Place of issue effect the passport?
April 9, 2021 at 13:37
As long as it is issued by the correct issuing authority, the place of issue doesn’t matter.
April 9, 2021 at 07:19

Hello Simon. My CN is very high AS325XX and will have interview in Lima, Peru. My question is:
Is it better to change my interview location to my home country (Indonesia) or to wait until US Embassy in Lima open since my CN is very high and will not be current soon?
Because of Covid handling, Presidential Election in Peru, etc US Embassy in Lima is not starting any DV2021 interview yet considering there are have 1559 persons in Peru for DV2021 plus Foreigners who will have interview for DV2021 in Lima.
Meanwhile, US Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia is interviewing DV2021 Selectees in April 2021, there are only 317 persons in DV2021 Indonesian selectees. Really appreciate your opinion and thank you for your time.
I already submitted documents to KCC proactively since you told us to do so.
April 9, 2021 at 03:27
This is a critical decision that you must make for yourself.
April 9, 2021 at 00:40

My case no is As11xxx. I’m going for my post graduate studies in Vancouver canada from july 2021( studies starts on may 2021)
I’m still waiting to see whether I can be interviewed in my country before moving to canada.
1 what is your valuable suggestion on this matter. Should I wait in my country till the interview or shall I fly earlier and change my interview location?however I should be there before September
2. Cant I be interviewed in USA as it is closer to Vancouver than flying to Ottawa for the interview?
April 9, 2021 at 03:36
1. You have to decide for yourself.
2. DV interviews in Canada are ONLY held in Montreal.
April 10, 2021 at 16:29

April 10, 2021 at 17:34
